This must be a deeply Japanese thing that I have never in my life heard of or considered, but is absolutely fucking crackers enough that I kind of love it. I mean, why the fuck not canned peaches? Just the idea that someone would come up with a cold canned fruit as a get well present is amazing and hilarious to me. 

Assuming this actually isn’t a Japanese thing and is just something the writers threw in as a sign of Haibane culture or whatever because they thought it was hilarious, I love it even more.
