I’ve rewatched “Galaxy’s Child” (Star Trek: The Next Generation, season 4, episode 16). In this episode we discuss our favourite topic: if holodeck’s for porn, how far can we go, especially with real people. Sending my regards to Barclay. Do you remember how Geordi made a holo-program of the Utopia Planitia lab and Doctor Brahms – and they’ve solved the problem, but he fell in love with the hologram and it gave him a small speech: “Every time you look at this engine, you're looking at me”, - and so on. Well, Doctor Brahms came on board to see La Forge’s engine modifications. Of course, she knows nothing about him and he knows everything about her. At least he thinks so. She’s very different from the hologram and she’s also married. Some odd Star Trek stuff happens and they have to modify the energy of the engine, or something and Geordi tells her to look for the files in the computer. She finds the holo-program and the holo-version of herself. She’s furious and she has all the rights to be! Geordi shouts at her, says that the only crime he’s guilty of was offering her friendship and bursts out. Seriously? Later they deal with the energy problem together and when everything is behind and hang out in “Ten Forward”. She apologizes. You don’t owe him any apologies! He does! Doctor Brahms could have overreacted, but who wouldn’t? Imagine: you meet an officer, who seems to know everything about you, even some very personal stuff, he makes advances to you and then you find a hologram of yourself saying: “Every time you touch it (the engine), it's me”. How would you feel? I don’t like the morals of that episode, she’s definitely not to blame.

Prompt 214
“I did an oopsie.”
Clockwork paused in his work, gaze turning from his work towards his ghostling (it didn’t matter if he was an adult, he’d always be his ghostling) who was smiling nervously, avoiding his eyes.
“Oh?” He kept his tone light, even as he worked on untangling a time knot. Honestly at least Danny was immune to any effect of time, even if he couldn’t look into his timelines in exchange. It came with being the other half of Infinity.
“Yeeah… you know that corner of the multiverse you told me not to go to because you’re working on some time problems? I might have stumbled into one of the worlds in the corner…”
He stopped his machinations, fully turning towards Danny- Space, his Core whispered and quivered in utter delight at having an Equal in power- with a raised eyebrow, leaning on his staff and silently telling him to explain.
Danny poked his fingers together, giving a nervous laugh. “So uh, I was just exploring right? Well me and Ellie, you know how she gets when she can’t wander, and um… I er, we might have messed with some things in the creation of it… I didn’t know it was part of that universe, I swear! It was so far at the fringes and halfway into the Zone and I couldn’t just let a universe die before it began and-”
Oh- Oh! His ghostling (and his grand-ghostlings it sounded like) had claimed his first universe! He could put off these time knots, this was a grand milestone for any Ancient, nevermind such a primordial force as one of theirs.
And this is how a DC world came into being with humans evolving with more avian traits. Like wings. And claws. Look, Dan thought it’d be funny if they gave baby humanity wings and Ellie started rambling about how much farther they could travel if they had them and Danny thought it could be cool. Oh well, time to keep an eye on their itty baby world now…

Everyone is talking about how this episode finally acknowledged that Ahsoka was a child fighting in the Clone Wars. And she was.
We need to talk about how Anakin was too…

Hondo *smirking*: Kenobi my friend, I have your son!
Obi-wan *wondering how Hondo keeps getting his comm frequency*: I'm a Jedi. I don't have a son?
Hondo *looks behind him frowning*: Then this annoying, over confident, man-child with a lightsaber isn't yours?
Obi-wan *looks around for Anakin*: Do you have-
Anakin *pops up on screen*: Don't worry Master, I have this all under control.
Obi-wan *blinks*: Anakin. Hondo I do wish you the best of luck..... you will be needing it.

no one ever fucking talk to me about the leviathan dlc and its implications. even thinking about it made me mad again. how do you create a story about artificial intelligence that is a direct consequence of its creator’s hubris (thinking that they, unlike more “primitive” species, could create robots to fix their problems that WOULDN’T rebel and kill them. only for the robots to rebel and kill them.) and also a reflection of their beliefs uninterrogated: that there is no possibility for peace between artificial and organic life, that it must all be extinguished for the sake of “peace”. how do you have a story where one of the main (paywalled. dlc.) squad members is the remnants of an empire that conquered and controlled other species in the same way the leviathans did, and met the exact same fate because their imperial power was an illusion created by the reapers to make them weaker, to make them easier to exterminate. how do you make a story about these cycles, about how the council IS repeating these cycles, they just do it in a “kinder” way, a way with a veneer of democracy while still holding the same kind of power the protheans did over their empire, taking the same corrupted seat and continuing to rule their even after they find out, in mass effect 1, that it was a time bomb of extinction. how do you write all of that. how do you write the geth/quarian conflict and give us an ending that proves that peace and reconciliation is not only possible, but the best option. and then. star child. and you can’t even fucking argue with him that his ideology is bullshit.

Prompt 174
Despite what people complain and snark about, Bruce does in fact have contingency plans for pretty much everything. And while he doesn’t have an exact contingency for Jason apparently accidentally kidnapping the apparently prince of the Realms- some infinite space where the dead resided according to Zatanna and Constantine, he’ll have an existential crisis about it later thanks- he did have one for his kids accidentally kidnapping someone.
He just doesn’t think that exact plan will work in this case, seeing as that plan had to do with civilians and not very large kings that could obliterate the entire world with a hand wave, nevermind the fact that they have so many armies. Not to mention what is apparently both the king’s second-in-command and brother.
Well, if none of his usual contingencies won’t work and Constantine’s attempts at making a deal isn’t working, nor is the other’s attempts to talk the two down, then it’s plan Z time. Seduction it is.
