Galran Biology

As someone who LOVES big cats, I love how the Galra are super feline. However, a lot of the Galran Keith hcs are house cat behavior. Which is still super cute but let's take a second to imagine how that 'Big Cat Biology' works for the Galra.

Increased hearing and sight are obvious advantages for hunting/survival (Their massive ears and their pupils dilate super easily)

If we stay true to larger feline nature, their teeth wouldn't be sharp but their jaw pressure would be insane. Same thing for claws and paws. The pressure and weight behind those are what makes them deadly.

Agility is something we can already see in Keith and is a trait that should be common in any Galran

I would say something about growling/roaring but since those are so different across species it probably differs from person to person. Anywho, I love cats and love all the Galran Keith hcs, this is just me gushing about how cool big cats are. I think I'll post some more Keith specific hcs later :)

Ok so I have always headcanoned that because galra are a long-lived predatory species, they have to replace their teeth every so often (like sharks)

And today it just occurred to me to ask: what do they do with the teeth they lose?

Do they just throw them away? Keep them? Give them as gifts? Give them as threats?

Galra Headcanon

- Galra are all intersex (if you want ABO moment then feel free to change it) and the genes for this is dominant so it shows up even in half galra

- the smaller the Galra the more fertile (took this idea from magic wielding Jotunn)

- Keith is very very tiny according to the bom

- when lotor first met Keith he immediately started attempting to court him

—— this is NOT bc love at first sight but rather bc he wants strong, pretty, quintessence-sensitive heirs (so he also tried to discretely court Allura at the same time. PS he got decked twice.)

Ok so i dont particularly care about what monsantos have to say about vld especially after it ended but i still think about LM saying Allura only brought back those who died during Haggar's tantrum and "planets which died before their time and not the life on it" (or along those lines. I think it was in the interview after the show ended? Someone made a post detailing it). Like i dont know about you all, but i found the idea absolutely fascinating in a morbid way.

Cause like maybe they come back as completely empty. The planets and their landmasses come back intact, rejuvinated, but not even a whisper of the lives that once lived. The planets are back but they lay bare, even the memory of life upon it now long dead. They have potential to nourish life, but what is the point? When there is no life, no beings to be nourished. These planets came back empty shells, with their children long dead and forgotten.

Or maybe they come back as they died. Maybe their soil is deep and rich, only in the way forest soil can be, maybe there are islands made up of what used to be bones of corals. Maybe there are well trodden paths, leveled lands, diverted rivers, and mined grounds. Maybe there are empty buildings, unused roads, abandoned items of every day use, each telling a story of life that once lived but the pages are long torn and the pictures have faded. Planets which were scarred and loved by the unique life that lived on it, but the beings that did that have long since been dead. These planets come back as ruins, still haunted by its inhabitants.

Or maybe (and i am going full SCP 2935 here) the life does come back, but dead. They had been dead for thousands of years but now there are bodies here waiting to be buried. They do not rot, because decay itself needs life and everything on that planet is dead and has been dead for a long time. Frozen in time, to see them is to come face to face with the devastation brought, because it is much harder to deny personhood of a fresh corpse, than of stories and ruins and fossils. No one is left to mourn them, to remember them, to hold a funereal because everyone that could died with them. These planets come back as graveyards and memorials, holding the grim proof of what was taken from them.

I decided to make my own flag of Earth, taken over by the Galra. This is more so a proof of concept and not really set in stone. I should also clarify that the "Little to no control" doesn't mean that they don't have a presence there. The entire Earth has been taken officially, it's just that those places are far less likely to see Galra activity than others. (Friendship ended with Humanity, now purple aliens are my new best friend)

[with Skadi/Lya in the left under corner, whose thumb and hand is in the picture again]

I'm not that satisfied how it turned out, but hey: that gives me motivation to try even harder!

Also: I'm currently working on a bigger drawing of Skadi!

I decided to call her "Skadi" when the situation (the drawing) takes place in the galra empire, and "Lya" when she's with the paladins/BoM, so it's easier to separate! Please inform me if it's confusing you, guys!
