Just this week in games:

- EA laid off 700 workers

- Sony laid of 900 workers

- Rockstar announces in-person work mandates for all employees (a 'soft layoff' that will force some staff to quit, which likely means that actual layoffs are forthcoming)

In 2023 6,000 games workers were laid off. Now in 2024 over 10,000 workers have been laid off, and there's still 10 months to go.

Not to be hyperbolic, but I think this is perhaps the worst year for video games ever if we're measuring by number of layoffs.

My expectations for LN 3.

Before release, I am expecting more idol animations for the kids. I would like to see more interactive animations between them, and how they play with things as well. It will help the players to understand their personality better.

I hope that sometime in future, that they would remake LN 2, and give Mono and Six more idol animations. Mostly for Mono. Because...He just looks lifeless. You got to have him curious.

Imagine what he would do, if he was playing with the toys, and how he would interact with Six. You can't even stack the toy blocks on top of each other, with out them ejecting out into the air, and fly across the room. It would be great, to have the toy's interactable.

GameMaker is Now Free!

Here's a cool thing: GameMaker is now free for non-commercial, non-console use, and all its asset bundles are free! They've also introduced a one-time free aimed at replacing their current subscription model.

Also, while they're being vague about it right now they've hinted that they might be working toward some open source progress as well, which is very cool!
