Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 WHAT IF
I wish that this new Gamora had a cool Guardians uniform. Who knows? Maybe in the future. She is such an important part of the team!

I don’t always love novel tie ins for things because sometimes they fall flat and just feel like a quick cash grab (as well as they often leave me confused about canon). That being said “Gamora and Nebula: Sisters in Arms” was so good and now I wish I would have read it earlier.

I know it’s not technically MCU canon but it added soooo much depth to this story that we didn’t get in the movies that I love. The angst is so truly heart breakingly bone shatteringly good. And it gives you so much more understanding of both Gamora and Nebula (but especially Nebula). They also had a ton of interesting details like Thanos’s relationship with death herself and the Grandmaster and the Collector being brothers. If you’re a fan of Gamora and/or Nebula at all 10/10 recommend.

Gunn said the first movie was about the mother, the second about the father and the third about the self. And if I think about it, all characters finally come to terms to who they really are or want to be:
[SPOILERS]
• Mantis goes her own way, after following what Ego wanted and then what the Guardians wanted for all these years;
• Drax, that called himself the 'destroyer', finds his place as a 'father', even after his daughter's death;
• Groot: now that he is an adult again, it's pretty clear to us that he's phisically and mentally different from the GOTG1!Groot. He respects and supports everyone's choices in his family and makes us part of it too at the end (→ now we understand him too);
• Nebula, now free from Thanos, is now a leader and helps kids in need like she was as a child, following what she and Gamora talked about at the end of vol 2;
• Gamora learns why her 2018!self found a family between the Guardians, but feels she's different and chooses another path in the end;
• Rocket "ain't no one like me but me" accepts he's not alone in the world anymore and deserves to keep on living. Also, he calls himself "racoon" for the first time without it being a offense for him;
• Peter, always away from his planet, faces his fears and comes back to the Earth, where he lost his mother, and meets his granddad.
I don't like all the choices Gunn made in this movie (about Gamora's arc for example), but GOTG3 made me cry and laught and cry again and I'm happy we finally got to see the ending of this beautiful trilogy.

everyone saying that gotg3 is the best thing marvel has put out since endgame is honestly extremely disrespectful.
gotg3 is so much better than endgame

I've said it before and I'll say it again: GOTG have the smoothest, most planned, movie series with a satisfying ending.
[SPOILERS]
It shows that:
- the main male lead and female lead doesn't have to end up together
- endings doesn't have to be tragic or sad to be remarkable
- heroes deserve to be saved too
- people change, and that's okay
- keep the character arc constant throughout different movies
- give villain's minions some character and thoughts. When High Revolutionary's subordinate went against him? And that Ura girl? Amazing.
- some villains can have no sob backstory and justification of what they done and still be a good villain (story-wise), and audience don't need to empathize. It's ok if they just want to cheer heroes as they kick the villain's ass
- You can make good jokes WITHOUT undermining the emotional aspect. Go ahead, joke, but know where to stop. I feel that's what new MCU movies lacked lately.
