“‘ello. I'm Gangie Green, I'm a weasel. I was born in London. Something funny that happened is my parents died when I was just a little lad.”
This piece is for The Green Zine, one of the three zines I worked on for the 2023 Dimension 20 Zine Jam! Thank you @waveridden for moderating The Green Zine, I'm so glad I got to participate 💚

This is going to surprise exactly zero people who know me but I’m two episodes into Mice & Murder and this might be my all-time favorite side quest like
Murder mystery already giving intrigue
Grant and Rekha’s insane sexual tension energy I haven’t seen since Game Changer Sponsored Episode
Relating way too hard to the vicar’s whole energy around full stop Christianity
Sam as a Texas oil Baron causing the entire party to recite the Pledge of Allegiance
Katie Marovitch
Ally Beardsley as a non-binary hulking dog person who is also excessively flamboyant and over the top
The minis being so cute
MICE
literally made to appeal to my entire interests

and here's the rogues from the rogue heavy seasons:
feel free to share your reasoning/propaganda. all of these rogues come from rogue-heavy parties--this is your opportunity to decide who among them is the most roguish.

I will get through every cast of characters and this stupid meme. I find it so funny for no reason. I can hear the words in their voices.

genre: murder mouse-tery (a mice and murder moodboard)
image description: a nine image grid, there is a bust of emperor marcus aurelius, some glowing orange mushrooms, a magnifying glass laying on a book, dark green foggy woods with two dark silhouettes, a bloody handprint on a gray wall, a cemetery, an old bank ledger, a crystal ball sitting on dark fabric, and a pipe curling smoke, end id.

Katie's lack of understanding of the importance of a nat 20 versus how others of the sylvan sleuth cast take a five-minute victory lap for nat 20s is such a funny difference 🤣🤣🤣

More Mice and Murder Duos!
A large part of me, who spent years upon years practicing drawing, feels this is just a huge cheat and out especially when given character art and even models to base the characters off of.
Still, I really enjoy working on them. Coming up with poses and expressions that portray their personality is what I strive for and I love how they turn out. I hope others feel a little excitement or joy seeing their fav characters too.
A little about the models:
Buckster $ Boyd: He stands quite a bit shorter than Daisy, if they were standing side by side she would be almost a full head taller than him. I started with the male Dwarf base then selected the appropriate legs. I prefer to get the head height, chin length, and face details as close as possible before adding hair. Unlike most of the other Sylvan Sleuths, I opted out of selecting the fur-covered torso and limbs and instead chose the smooth torso with clawed fingernails to still give a nod to the animal character. The unique tusks of the Javelina required some creativity. I chose separate styles of teeth, the set with the longest canines for the bottom and the horse-like set with wide incisors for the top row. To get the 2nd set of tusks that curl down, I chose the long smooth bull horns and under Pose>Advanced rotated them until they were pointing down through the head and out of the top of the mouth.
Daisy D’umpstaire: Daisy’s model was fairly simple with some troubleshooting on the tail, face, and of course the trash hat. The tail I had initially chosen unfortunately didn’t have an options for decals so I settled for a different one. Daisy’s mask required a couple layers of decals on the face to get the mask the correct height and width and also to color the muzzle a lighter gray. For the trash hat, I just went a little nuts with selecting different types of horns. I used the gear in the corner to unlock the symmetry of the horns and was able to pick even more different style and shapes and used the Pose>Advanced customization options like I did with Buckster’s tusks to get the result of them twisting different ways.
Gangie Green - Oh little trash baby, so pure, so chaotic. I didn’t have to do any out of the box thinking when it came to Gangie’s model. His character art shows him smoking a pipe as well as his mini and although Hero Forge doesn’t have a Pipe as a “Mask” option (though they have it as a held object) I considered maybe giving him a cigar. I thought better of it though because unlike Grant (who mimed Sylvester’s smoking) Katie did not portray Gangie’s smoking so I focused on what he was known for. Obviously the shovel was a must, and at first I had him holding a lantern out with the other paw (because I didn’t have the ability to add a lantern to the end of the shovel) but decided I’d rather have him hauling away a body if I could. While I couldn’t find a prop that was a convincing body bag, I came across the skull and decided to make it work. I’m so glad I didn’t end up going with the lantern. 1.) I don’t think Gangie would need it, pretty sure his weasel eyes can see just fine in the dark. 2.) When a character is holding a lantern out, it can convey a couple different things that I didn’t feel like for Gangie’s character or model as it cast him in the light of someone either at a disadvantage or maybe looking for or at some unknown. By giving Gangie the skull it brings that creepy/macabre side of him and the way he is holding it not only indicates he has already successfully found and retrieved what he was looking for, but that he’s not about to give it up or share it. I feel like model turned out exactly how I imagine he was in the first scene with the Vicar saying “Mind yer business”, just classic “I ain’t done nothin’” Gangie.
Vicar Ian Prescott - the Vicar’s model is the only one I am a little disappointed in just because the only way I could give the mini an owl head is with the owl mask option under “Helms” and since that is the same slot as the hats, I couldn’t give him his little Vicar hat as well. That being said, I’m really happy with how the coloring on his robes and head turned out. The mask didn’t allow for me to adjust his facial expression or even open his mouth, but I found that angling his head in the same abstract way that an owl might very amusing.
I’ll try and keep an eye out for any requests people have.
