was scrubbing through some clips of ninjago season 2 - specifically looking at how that scene where garmadon immediately orders his wife be freed and stutters over every other word.

came to the conclusion that these two could've objectively been the funniest couple in the show if the writers were competent, given she's a historian and he's a dramatic threatre kid who has been through all of history.

(and also if they didn't make misako try to date his brother. why did they do that.)

Wait a minute, Garmadon stoled Wu's love letter for Misako.

That means that Garmadon KNEW all along that his brother was in love with his wife.

How could he live with that?

Wasn't it weird when they were together?

And how is he been so casual knowing Wu stayed with Misako a when he went to Chen's island with Lloyd and the ninjas.

Shouldn't he be afraid that Wu is falling for Misako, especially after he was reminded of the letter.

My opinion is that he think that that is thing from the past and that Wu doesn't love Misako anymore.

Or did he just ignore it..

(Or he knew that Wu still loved her, but he believed that his brother is honorable)

Do you guys get the joke?

Alright so it's no secret that I'm actually a fan of Misako and view her as a complex character that suffers from terrible writing and misogyny both in the fandom and in the team that works on NinjaGo. The love triangle between her, Wu, and Garmadon is a whole MESS -

That being said, I don't mind either Wusako or Garmasako as a ship. I think both have interesting aspects and can be done really well if they're handled correctly. The drama of being torn between two brothers, who are the physical embodiments of Creation and Destruction??? I'd pay to watch that spin off, not gonna lie.

On the one hand, you have Garmadon. Cursed since childhood to turn evil. Alienated by his father because of his curse, Garmadon makes an effort to overcome the evil in his veins whilst embracing the heritage of his element. He fights for NinjaGo's peace and safety, even if he knows that in due time, he may come to threaten it himself. All of this, and he falls for this beautiful, intelligent woman. Who chooses to keep him in her life regardless of his doomed fate. He loves her, and he would do anything for her.

Then there's Wu. The second son. Not the heir, but responsible for his downfall regardless. He's forced to watch as his beloved older brother gets shunned by their father for something he truly cannot help. Has to deal with favoritism, and how it affects the person he's closest to. He tries to branch out, to do good for his realm, to teach and take in those that need him. He brings up a son, a reckless little boy with power over the wind, and thinks he can give him a better future, only to ruin that too. Then his brother introduces him to a beautiful girl, whose intelligence rivals his own. She can outmatch his Spinjitzu, and she got a mind of her own.

Neither brother knows that they both admire her. She's torn between them both.

I think Misako's mindset is genuine in the sense that she loves and cares for both brothers. She's torn between two halves of the balance, loyal to the path of good, but drawn regardless to destruction and darkness. I think she chose Garmadon because he made the first move (not really, that was Wu but Garmadon stole his thunder), and it took the pressure off of her shoulders to choose for herself.

That being said - when Garmadon is banished, and she has to give up her son to keep her family safe from the prophecy of the Green Ninja, I think she loses hope. Not her feelings, but the hope that one day Garmadon will come home, and they can have their family again. That's why she starts to lean towards Wu when they're reunited. Old feelings rise up so fast, and she's helpless to her heart's desires.

Then Garmadon comes back, and she doesn't have to choose again. She can have her family, and that doesn't erase her torn feelings, but it settles them. For now.

Until she learns that the very reason she chose Garmadon, despite his evil and his inevitable fate, was a lie. That if Garmadon hadn't been who he was, she would have chosen his brother.

Misako realizes she has to make the choice for herself now. Because waiting for someone to step forward hurt her - hurt the elements she came to love - hurt her son. It tore her family apart, and drove a stake between the brothers. She never wanted them to fight over her, so she finally makes her choice - to refuse to choose.

Au/headcanon?? Sensei Garmadon can't look after himself.

In this Au(or hc, whatever it is) Garmadon once he is reformed is sent into a spiralling depression, this is before he became a teacher.

He lived in the city with misako for a week before they moved away, without Lloyd.He need to get away, so they did. But now misako's job is far from where they live so she takes trips to ninjago city. Originally she got up early in the morning to go to the city, coming home late and then working from home for the rest if week doing studies on their findings..

Unfortunately this began to fail her so she took longer and longer trips leaving him alone and unable to take care of himself.

Garmadon would be bedridden for days at a time due to his mental state, not eating properly nor drinking properly. Too exhausted to get a glass for a drink, he just gets up and slugs off to the bathroom and sticks his head under the tap for the water. He's done worse for survival..

Misako often came back to find him unshaven, barely awake in bed looking grim with an air of negligence. He couldn't care for himself.She eventually had to quit her job for the time being, though they understood the circumstances and said she was always welcome to return for it.

With a heavily(?) depressed husband and no job, she had to find a way around it all. Once Garmadon was being to recover, learning to care for himself without prompting, Misako decided they would set up a martial arts school in their home.

It worked, now they were being paid to teach and care for the students and Garmadon was in a better mental place, becoming the Sensei Garmadon we see. Collected and good, rather the neglected state he had pushed himself into.Misako took back her job for certain days of the week knowing he now was able to care for himself while setting an example for his students..

Everything was better. Better than before. But she still thought about how trapped she felt having to worry about him all the time.

He never meant to make her feel that way, but she felt trapped. That if she left he would just drop dead.

Like this line that Garmadon said kills me.After all these years, he's afraid of losing Misako.

Misako forgave him everything and returned to him. And he is acting like she don't really loves him!

People can say what they want but I think Misako really loves Garmadon.

If she loved Wu she wouldn't have gone back to Garmadon after season 2. Especially because of everything he did.

"As I've told you, there are things in my past I'm not proud of, but I have no regrets. You wouldn't be here otherwise."

It's sad that Garmadon thinks that Misako would never have loved him if he hadn't stole that letter.

I personally think there was something more between them, before that with Chen, but I'll talk about that in another post.

Misako never said that she married Garmadon because of that letter.

She just said that it was the reason why she fell in love with him. She didn't seem as angry as Wu at all. At least not because of the act of theft itself but because of what he did to his brother.

Basically, I don't think they gave us enough garmasako nor their past.

I know it's a show about ninjas but still they are Lloyd's parents.

I hope there will be more in Dragons rising. I have some hard evidence for that, so if you haven't see, feel free to look at my posts and comment.

One of the ideas I’m stuck with is the FSM Family all being super affectionate and caring towards their lovers. So here’s some headcannons for that featuring Citrus, Jadesong, Greenflower, Garsako and a pinch of Manwhore Wu

Lloyd tends to go a bit overboard with the gifts he brings Brad. While Brad just gives him a bunch of flowers, Lloyd gives Brad a temple’s worth of gold and riches so he’ll never have to pay rent again

And this is something Lloyd does almost constantly, especially during Valentine’s Day. So like every villain that exists outside of Ninjago City who happens to be rich or holds some kind of shiny artifact that would be a great gift has to heavily guard everything so that the Green Ninja does not steal everything

Sally has songs about every person she meets. She meets someone she’s friends with, she writes a song about them and Harumi is no exception. Expect she is because she has an entire album dedicated to her and it’s Sally’s best album. Everyone in Ninjago City is just vibing to these songs unaware that it’s about the princess who nearly destroyed their city

Harumi is a perfectionist and will do everything in her power to make sure any and all dates she and Sally goes on will be perfect. If not, she’ll probably just loose her shit

Garmadon is the exact same way except he’ll probably cry if something goes wrong. And then he’ll lose his shit. And then he’ll probably cry again

Most days, Garmadon and Misako don’t go on fancy dates. They just sit in a comfortable silence, doing nothing, say nothing. They just enjoy each other’s company

Morro is more than willing to drop everything to hang out with Echo. Wu tells him that he can’t do that and Morro retaliates by listing a few of Wu’s lovers out loud until he lets him go

Morro takes Echo on flights a whole lot and they end up flying around Ninjago for the whole day. They’d also pull a few pranks on other people

Also bonus headcannon; Wu and Garmadon used to get hundreds of Valentines gifts and letters when they were younger. Some of them were love confessions, others were from friends, most has scared them for life and a lot were just Wu’s exes threatening him
