In the first scene of Good Omens season two Crowley has a book. This shouldn't have made me almost cry but it um. Did.

BECAUSE I THINK I'm not entirely sure (I'm probably definitely missing an important detail and the book is like the bible or something and it's really significant) but I THINK IT'S THE FIRST TIME AZIRAPHALE HAS SEEN A BOOK AND HE'S WITH CROWLEY. AND THEN HE DECIDES HIS EARTHLY HOME SHALL BE A BOOK SHOP. COINCIDENCE??? I THINK ABSOLUTELY FUCKING NOT. Aziraphale fell in love with Crowley the moment he watched him create the stars. Then, when Crowley fell, (literally) Aziraphale had to hide his love, and he hid it so well that maybe he forgot it altogether.

But that is why he has his books. They remind him of the Angel he loved Before The Beginning.

And then. AND THEN. Crowley saves the books for Aziraphale, thinking he loves books, when THE BOOKS ARE A SYMBOL OF AZIRAPHALE'S LONGING FOR HIM. But he longs for a version of Crowley that doesn't exist anymore.

That's my theory anyway. It's heartbreaking I know.

Sometimes I'm just overcome with joy when I remember that one of the absolute most important parts of season 2 is Aziraphale and Crowley trying to foster love between two queer women. It's never made out to be strange and neither member of the pair thinks anything of it other than what romanticized ways they can bring them together, all the while, their own romance is showcased and explored.

It's so inherently and undeniably queer in nature. It can't be explained away or hidden behind the pretense of subtext and it's the kind of representation I've always wanted. There's these three-dimensional characters that are very much involved with the romantic aspects of their queerness but made a more dynamic character for it without being entirely defined by it. I love this show so much. It's funny how a comedy-drama about an angel and a demon can make you feel seen.

Getting real frustrated with the demonization (excuse the pun) of sex in this fandom.

Sex is not dirty. It's not inherently disgusting, immoral, wrong, or somehow impure.

Aziraphale and Crowley are not lesser if they do it or have done it. And fans are not wrong or impure for wanting that for them.

I understand if you don't like it, I understand that some people are sex-repulsed, I get that, but no one owes you censorship because of that. Fic writers can write what they want and you can ignore it, no one is forcing you to read smut that's what tags and content warnings are for. Neil can write what he wants, and if that is intimate scenes between them, that's up to him. You can fast forward.

Your personal grievances with sex are not the entire fandoms responsibility to mitigate, its something you need to handle on your own. And we aren't somehow deviants if we read/write more or less of it in fics.

I'm saying this in the most loving, big sibling way I can: sex is not wrong. I have my own issues with it, I grew up in an Christian household where anything sexual was absolutely wrong, sex before marriage was wrong, any other type of sex other than basically procreation was wrong. And I've worked to undo that unhealthy mindset on my own. And I think some people have kind of redirected that same mindset into demonizing sex in other ways.

I'm rambling. Sex isn't wrong. And aziraphale and crowley can fuck all they want in any form of media whether it be art or fics or TV.

Crowley wouldn't be able to make himself be mad tbh. Sure, he'd be beyond pissed that Aziraphale just reappears after breaking his heart, telling him that he just wanted to help and that he didn't want to hurt Crowley the way he did. But Crowley wouldn't be able to be mad. Hell, he wouldn't be capable of being even a little *upset* over it. Sinking into his Angel's arms, indulging in kisses more passionate than the one they parted with, doing everything in his power to not just break down in tears that his Angel chose to come back, which is not a thing to be taken lightly. He knows Aziraphale's resolve is steely when the matters are this important. No, he wouldn't be mad in the slightest. He'd simply fall apart in the most beautiful way.
