Beth: I don’t know if coral counts as plants, I know they have algae inside their lil polyps but I don’t know what they’re classified as. I still wanna give her coral though.

Yess thank you! I have a feeling each time I rewatch mash I have a new favourite character and this time it's that bastard (affectionate)

Favourite thing: from his first episode they make it so clear that he's on an equal level to Hawkeye and BJ not just surgically but intellectually in general (the snake prank) and just so complex. Also DOS my beloved obviously but I think that goes without saying. Last but not least he likes classical music <3 I listen to a lot of different genres but I have such a soft spot for classical music that every time he talks about it I'm just like yes bestie let's discuss composers or whatever <3

Least favourite thing: Well he is really posh and arrogant and bigoted and everything that comes with it (social darwinism and racism and classism etc etc). I absolutely can't stand posh people irl and I absolutely can't stand these attitudes but the thing is. It's just so very funny. I cannot excuse any of his views in any way and there's scenes I want to punch him so badly. But I love laughing about fictional posh people.

Favourite line: this is not a line but this is my answer and I can do what I want: the entire scene in run for the money where he listens to Honoria's tape

brOTP: Him and everyone I love when he gets along with people!! Those moments in Sons and Bowlers where he and Hawkeye actually have a deep conversation! In the same episode where he schemes with BJ together! The pranks! The hug in Temporary Duty! Oh and talking more literally Honoria of course. We know so little about her but she's my bestie

OTP: As I said before, I don't actively ship anything but I don't not ship anything. Enough people have lobbied for Charles/Donna on my dash that I have started to care about it and amended my hc from gayce (gay ace) to biace (bi ace) (I love portmanteau words). I have seen people lobby for Charles/Hawkeye which is something I had not considered while watching but as long as it gives me enough brain worms I'm in. I am legally obliged to mention the Charles/JFK joke I made.

nOTP: As I said I don't like how Charles/Margaret played out on the show but it could work if done differently I suppose. I am also not a big fan of the other two brief romantic encounters he had like nothing against Martine and Sooni but it just didn't work for me at all.

Random Headcanon: The reason why he so desperately wants to listen to Mahler's Kindertotenlieder in Friends and Enemies is because it's the anniversary of his brother's death

My 15x01 Opinion

Back To The Future

Hey all! Time to do this again, but only 20 times 😭

This hiatus was technically longer than past ones but seem to go by faster somehow. Maybe because I know the end is in sight?  Well without further ado, let’s talk about our season opener!

I liked this one a lot! It was creepy, suspenseful, funny and emotional. No Destiel moments and a wonderful brolove scene!! What’s not to like?? Sam looks great and we go to see some skin! This was a great season opener because it didn't start out interesting and then fizzle down by the middle of the episode. It kept a very good pace of being interesting. 

Demon!Jack is great! Kudos to Alex for pulling off a different persona! He made me laugh several times and I guess we’ll be seeing him for a little while. This is fine, if someone has to not be themselves for a while. Jack is a better choice than Sam or Dean. 

John Waye Gayce’s ghosts was plenty creepy, I hate clowns myself, but Im glad that Sam’s recent encounters with clowns didnt show him obviously scared. Sam i badass, he can take out a clown!! But I do wish they gave him more to say to the clown than “Shuttup” in the same way, I wish when demon!Jack told Dean he was a torture artist, Dean would have said something besides “that was a long time ago”

So Sam gets hurt and Cas heals him. This is why I think Cas will be gone before the end of the season because they need to make the stakes higher and death a real threat, but let's move past that to Sam’s vision when Cas tried to heal his gunshot wound. Evil demon Sam i HOT AF but he saw himself snapping Dean’s neck with a tilt of his head.  This was upsetting! My personal opinion, however, is that Sam is seeing parts of an ending Chuck wants which is a sucky one, and the boys will have to prevent that from happening and write their own ending so to speak. 

So the boys have these legit FBI jackets now... when did they get these? I like ‘em! 

Now the best part of the whole episode, in my opinion, was what? Can you guess? Of course, it was the lovely broment!! Dean walked over to Cas, a caring look on his face and Im like “oh boy here we go... the Hellers are gonna have a field day” he says “You okay?” Cas answers “Yes but...” and Dean cuts him off “Good!” and makes a B-line to Sam 🥰 we get a delicious piping hot serving of hurt!sam nurse!dean and in such a fresh way! It was like they pulled it riht out of a fan fic! We had a gratuitous view of gorgeous Sam skin, shoulder, chest, tat.... and Dean’s hands all up in them. Looking for an exit wound (WOAH thats NOT an exit wound Dean!” LOL I had to) Dean cleaning the wound while Sam is fully capable of doing it himself, he isn't that hurt. The talk about when they were little and the looks on their faces when Dean stings him. And Dean continues to tend to the wound (GAH my heart) then we have a beautiful loving discussion about how its just the 2 of them.... as it should be.  Topped off with the call-back and flashback to S1 “We’ve got work to do” What a terrific end for the last first episode!

I really enjoyed this episode, it had a few minor flaws and I would have liked the boys together more but I love the scenes they did have together so Im not bitter. so on a scale of Bloodlines to Lebanon, Ill give this one a strong 8.5. definitely a rewatcher!!

Lmho it has finally gone through! Glad your technical difficulties are getting better, lol

Olufemi is ridiculously naïve and believes in the best of the system of Heaven, which they… shouldn’t. Like, I can’t blame them, it’s the only thing they’ve ever known and there are some genuinely good aspects of Heaven, but that whole “if it’s too good to be true, it probably is” is too real. 

And I’m not sure how much it annoys me, but Maluka has an excess of confidence. Like, they make such reckless decisions that I have a feeling I’ll end up bonking my head against a wall like “Why didn’t you just do THIS instead,” or “Why couldn’t you have kept your mouth shut?”

At least Mal’s mishaps make for entertaining plotlines, lol.

As for Nora, I’m not sure about her yet! She’s the one I know least about, I think.

OC Tag Game

I’ve been tagged by the wonderful @inexorableblob who I now associate with delightful snark and potato recipes. Check her out for the former, at least! 1. If you could go to one of your oc’s bachelor/bachelorette party, which would you choose (also: who would have the wildest one???) Well, because I’m a huge foodie like Lu, I’ll definitely go for Zhen’s bachelorette party. Or is that a flawed concept? Will the bride-to-be cook her own meal? To be fair, Zhen might totally do it because she’s stingy with her money, but then again since it’s her bachelorette party, she’d probably blackmail someone into giving her food instead. Hm. Regardless, wherever Zhen’s food is, that’s where I will be! She’d probably also have the wildest party, though it’s ‘wild’ in the sense that she’s a mess and her friends will all be a mess and things will probably go up in flames at some point or the other. Something ‘The Hangover’-esque will probably ensue. And it’ll be all her fault. 2. What’s your favorite time of day to write? I don’t really know, probably at night after dinner, or right in the morning when I’ve just woken up. As long as there’s nobody else but me in the room, it’s a pretty good time. 3. What’s your favourite ship in your WIP? (platonic or romantic, I get ya) There is actually zero romance in my WIP (news flash!) so... hm... there are plenty of platonic ships actually. The immediate one that jumps out at me is Shou & Jun. They aren’t necessarily very close or anything, but it’s just that one scene that I had written of the two of them that makes me go all alksdjlasjdklsajdlksadjas because it’s stupid and lame and oddly serious at the same time and i love it. 4. How far are you into your WIP? Well, I’m working on my companion novel now... if working consists of writing a prologue for Shou and leaving it to gather dust while I embark on my final semester of university and am already crumbling from the workload on the second day.  5. If you were stuck in a broken elevator for twelve hours, which oc would you choose to be stuck in there with you? (note: you have to be in there for the twelve hours!!! no houdini escape!!!) Ew. They are all horrible options. Zhen will probably give up and lie in the corner, Shou will be crafting an epitaph and pondering long, absurd theories out loud, Lu will probably be apathetic until his stomach starts growling and it will be absolute chaos, Teng will probably start panicking a little, Jun will sit there and make me do all the work, Jia would either be really really helpful or be a huge dead weight, Yu(f) will probably direct her anger towards me and she’ll be stressed out about all the things she has to do and cannot do...  Ren and Yu(m) are the better options. They’ll calmly look for the solutions and, at the very least, they won’t annoy me half to death.  6. What’s your favourite colour? (generic, I know) I always tell people it’s red. 7. Where would one of your oc’s propose to the other? (if this question isn’t up your alley, replace “propose to” with “surprise attack hug”) Lu, Zhen, and Jun would do be the only ones to do it. Anywhere. For Lu, it’s to get something (food). For Zhen, it’s to stop something (presumably). For Jun, it’s usually just a whim. 8. Which oc is most like you? I think I’ve answered this in another tag before but I really don’t know, because I don’t model my OCs after myself.  9. Do you prefer writing with ambient noise, music (if so, with or without lyrics), or in silence? Not necessarily silence, but I have to be alone in my own space. No other human beings are allowed to be in the room with me. My dog would be a delightful, welcome surprise.  10. If you suddenly got the power of teleportation, where in the world would you go first? I have a trip to Japan planned, and I’d really like to be there right now. Assuming, of course, this teleportation allows me to time travel to the end of April when I have fulfilled and completed all of my responsibilities and am free from the stress of school and a thesis project. The God’s Do Witness - Shoreless Snippet

“Marriage?” Nida blinked. “Up here?”

“It’s… certainly different,” Clemence muttered.

“Which is why we’re doing it,” Rune said.

Vas was trembling, and I doubted it was due to the cold. “B-But… your majesty… your crown…”

“Has no place in my relationship, Vas. If I wanted it up here, I would have brought it.”

Vas swallowed, but he nodded and remained quiet. Rune gripped my hand, his face beaming with pride. It didn’t feel like a wedding day – or at least, how I imagined my wedding day would feel – but I was glad for it. We didn’t have rows of nobility and streets of people watching us. We didn’t have to think about appearances and greeting foreign dignitaries. It was just us, a few of the people we trusted most in the world, and the mountains.

Rune and I faced one another, our hands tightening.

“We call the Gods to witness,” I whispered.

“Vas,” Rune said. The boy stiffened. “We ask you to bear witness on behalf of the Foxes. Do you accept?”

He gawked. “I… but… um, I’m not…”

“Not Foxeyes,” I said, sensing the distress. “The Foxes. The guides for the Gods. They need human eyes to witness in their place.”

His mouth hung open, but he clamped it shut after Clemence smacked his shoulder. “Y-Yes… I’ll bear witness.”

The surge of energy almost knocked me backwards. I held tighter to Rune, though he and the others seemed unaffected. It was overpowering, scrambling, a fight in the air as something tried to find purchase.

And then she was beside us.

Mercy didn’t seem to notice me staring at her. Her gaze was fixed on Rune: full of pain and an apology that he didn’t notice.

Rune must have went on, for Clemence’s voice broke through my trance.

“Yeah, I’ll witness.”

With his words came another surge. This one was quicker, easier, for Brenon had probably been lingering. He clapped his hands together once he appeared beside Mercy, and she shifted aside to give him room. “Now, this is a wedding!” he said as the wind battered at our three witnesses.

“Nida, we ask you to bear witness…” Rune hesitated. I squeezed his hand. As unnatural as it felt, Brenon had assured us that it meant nothing more than tradition. “To bear witness on behalf of the Fates.”

Her eyes flickered to me, and she smiled. “It’s an honour to.”

The air was still.

No energy rippled. Nothing pulsed through the air. No one answered the call.

Brenon whistled. “Damn… you weren’t kidding, huh?” I sensed his amusement. I couldn’t respond anyway, not with the others watching us. Rune held my gaze, unaware of who stood beside us and who was missing to complete the witness.

I had asked Brenon earlier, what would happen if a Fate refused to appear.

“They’ll always answer the call,” he’d said. “A call to witness pulls you just as the threads do.”

“But if they refuse?”

Brenon had shrugged. “Who could anger Gods enough that they deny a call? That’s a sad, mess of a human right there.”

Maybe not a human, but his words probably stood true. Part of me was pleased: I wanted nothing from Fates, and I wanted to owe them nothing in return. I would have been more concerned if they had appeared.
