Was anyone gonna tell me that storyboards from Krel's deleted arc from Wizards got leaked or did I have to find out myself?
April 2nd Edit: This was an April Fool's Joke. No leak happened. The link takes you to a lovely melancholic cover of "Never Gonna Give You Up".

Okay, I have never done anything like this before, But I need to get this random thought out of my system. Small analysis and thoughts of color theory in tales of arcadia:
Tumblr media
I really like Gaylen Krel concept and here is a little speech about why I think it would be interesting with a very vague concept of color theory (it's actually just my my totally altered perception of reality and boredom).
(An apology if anything here sounds weird, English is not my first language).
I do not think it is necessary to say that this has spoilers for the entire saga of tales of arcadia if you haven't watched it
Tumblr media
So, there you have, the 3Below squad, as akiridions, all of them are basically blue, all equal, nothing to say here, this is clear, BUT- I think something interesting happens when they are in their human desguise: the predominant color is red.
In Aja it is easy to see this in her shirt and shoes, the only blue element is her jeans, For Varvatos it's a little less obvious, but both his shoes and his jacket are also red (His pants are a kind cream color (?), which like red are warm colors, the only cool color element is his shirt), and then we have Krel, basically all his color palette is blue, cold colors, The only red element is his shoelaces, which is hard to notice.
And just like fun fact, like, BRO- even the dog is designed in warm colors 🙃
It seems to me that this could represent a bit how difficult it is for them to fit in being themselves (?)
Another extra parenthesis, I find it curious that in the TOA saga the blue color palette predominates in characters that are "not-human at all", Like Jim who becomes a troll, or Douxie who's a 900 years old wizard.
And it seems to me another important detail that Claire and Toby represent a little about this dynamic of cold and warm colors.
Toby is orange and red, warm colors = human.
Claire is purple, closer to red, but still cold= normal human but a wizard (a kind of transition?)
Together, The path of the chromatic circle represents how they move away from being human. You can check this here:
Tumblr media
Douxie does not seem to have any predominant color temperature, this may be because he wants to go equally unnoticed in both worlds, but the detail is in his eyes, normally his eyes are amber (yellow, warm color) but when he uses magic they become blue like his magic itself.
Anyway, I don't want to stray too far from the topic.
It's been a long time since I watched the serie, But I think we even have a whole chapters on that topic. Aja even with problems at the end it fit quite easily as a human, For Varvatos, socializing is a weirder experience, but in the end he has his thing with Nancy and is quite accepted among the other older adults, But we get a whole episode of Krel feeling bad because he doesn't think anyone will remember him, because he never quite fit in.
Long short story if you already see the serie, no much what to say on that, good ending to everyone.
Well, no, I have something to say: Aja although she tried hid in the human red, in the end she fully accepts her responsibility and decides to live in the blue that she was born, while Krel, Despite being the most insistent in wanting to have his life back in Akiridon-5, Krel who lived in his eternal blue, in the end he decides to embrace that little red detail that he always had in himself.
I think you may be getting my point: For them being blue is actually good, because at the end they are not human, And they proudly show their true colors, and they actually do it in a very literally way jjsjsj
BUT-
Tumblr media
Here we have. Blue vs red.
Only as akiridon Krel fits at all, he doesn't pretend, he doesn't hide.
I need to be honest here, at this point this becomes more imagination than anything, but I think you all might agree with me.
Gaylen represents many things that an akiridon should not be, And what color is him? Oh of course it's red, a fucking warm color.
Speaking of my theory that warm = more human, I find it curious to point out that Gaylen only has 2 arms, wich is very human for the royal ones.
All the fanarts we have about gaylen krel agree that her design would have red details that stand out like A LOT-
I don't know how the whole thing could happen to get in the story to get to the point of Gaylen Krel, but there's my final though: After that, his new red colors could represent that he would no longer fit as a human or an akiridon at all, he's would be something more, something weird or strange, not akiridion at all
Under this theory, it is similar to what Jim went through as a half-troll, although it is predominantly blue, the eclipse details are red cause after all he's still Jim, and that was sacrifice and change needed to be made, they both had to become like this, and after all, Krel would still being Krel.
Someone please tell me I'm not crazy with all these thoughts, I am traumatized with TOA

It sorta bothers me that post-series people are still complaining about 3Below being disconnected from the rest of Tales of Arcadia. For me, it was a refreshing break from the densely-packed fantasy lore and an intriguing peek at the way the universe beyond Arcadia and Earth functions. I liked the character arcs and interpersonal connections. And there was ample room for me to come up with a bunch of my own headcanons, which I love! I absolutely love being able to slot pieces of my own mind and soul into an existing world! I don't like shows where I'm told how every little detail works, that's way too much to remember. Instead I want enough to create an idea of the rules and how things might have gone/might continue to go and fill in whatever else I want.
Also, I think 3Below was SUPPOSED to be a lot more connected before Wizards got cut down. Tons of ideas didn't make it into the limited series run- I remember hearing stuff about Mordred being involved, a lost Krel arc, and I'm sure a lot of lore that would have bound the worlds together more closely. When they mentioned Gaylen's core came from Earth, there was clearly supposed to be more to that, but it got cut out. I'm like 93% sure Gaylen was a being who was part of or similar to the Arcane Order, but was drawn to the cosmos rather than to a part of the Earth. That would indicate that Akiridion tech and magic are compatible because Akiridions' energy-based life was initially magical, but those roots were largely forgotten because of how old a civilization Akiridion is. They've been spacefaring since humans were cavepeople. If the Order existed from the primeval dawn of the world, and Gaylen left not long after that, Akiridion could be millenia ahead of Earth. Or, heck, maybe Earth was the first or only livable world, and Gaylen created the Order to look after it before going off to try to find or create life elsewhere. I always headcanoned that Seklos was more powerful than most Akiridions or even the Royals that came after her, given the fact her core alone was enough to stop Gaylen while in the modern era it requires two royal cores. Maybe she was created by Gaylen to be Akiridion's version of an Arcane Order type being, and she created normal Akiridions, which she then had kids with, diluting her power in the Royals that followed. There's so much ancient history to unpack from just the tidbits we were given.
As for the modern era, there seems to very distinctly be a major intergalactic connection. The drunk ship operator in episode 3 of 3b s1 that the Zerons interrogate talks about ship classifications, which indicates a universal or at least an interplanetary system of ship ratings. We also see interplanetary tourism, and signs that Akiridion is one of the most advanced and influential planets out there.
3Below doesn't need to continue the plot of Trollhunters to be a valid part of Tales of Arcadia. It brought an energy to ToA that was somewhere between Star Trek TNG and Babylon 5, and I love how it expands the weirdness of Arcadia. If it was supposed to be a continuation of Trollhunters, they would have made more Trollhunters. But it's not Trollhunters, it's 3Below. And Wizards isn't Trollhunters either! I honestly think that Camelot, Douxie, and the world of wizards could have been written such that the Trollhunters cast was much less focal, and that if they'd given the show the time it needed and deserved to tell its story, it would have been fleshed-out and fascinating all on its own, with or without the TH gang. Where are the magic users beyond the reach of Camelot? Are there merfolk, sirens, harpies, dryads, more dragons, or other sapient races living on Earth with their own civilizations and magic and cultures? There are so many worlds and so many potential stories out there, on Earth and beyond, in the Tales of Arcadia universe. Arcadia just happens to be the narrative meshing point of them all. And I think that's a really cool way to build a universe.
Anyway, thanks for coming to my TED talk, here's more Akiridion development as a treat for making it this far.

Who the FUCK is Gaylen?? (Spoilers)
Like seriously, is Gaylen Akiridion?? Can't be, he's from Earth, he just *created* Akiridion-5, so what *is* he, really? Was he good at one point? Was he always neutral? Why'd he get greedy and try to destroy the planet *he* created?? Is his core gone forever now??

Aighty then, these might be my last sheets so im going to make them count!
Tumblr media
First up we have Zoe and Douxie. I made Douxie a little darker since he spends most of his time outside(especially during his stay in Camelot). A did redesign Zoe a lot, especially her uniform. We don’t see any looks on the uniform except for one scene. And I wanted to make em look more punk since they just look emo smh.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Next up is Krel(my bbg). I wanted his future design to incorporate Gaylens Core(since I fucking LOVE that theory). And I was also thinking of giving him longer hair. But so far nothing changed, but the future design has cuz Aja got one and Krel didn’t smh
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Finally Aja. Though not really my favorite I didn’t wanna do her dirty unlike the writers. I gave her shorter hair to kinda differentiate with her brothers. And I made her look the same as her brother in the human disguise!!! She looks much better tbh

I’m back again with my half formed story snippets. 👀
Delving into a Krel fic to test out how I’d write him.
Words: 350
Genre: Angst/Comfort/Recovery
Warnings: Injury detail
Krel rescues a girl from drowning on vacation (CPR), but she’s not out of the woods yet. So it’s back to the hotel to fix her.
AKA: Krel dealing with an unconscious body.
(Yes this is the closest you’re getting to a new fic. I’m so sorry 😭😭)
Tumblr media
-------
Waiting to hear the click of Seamus locking himself in the bathroom, Krel pulled his serrator from his suitcase then pressed the button on its side. With a flash, his human façade morphed into his usual, much taller, much bluer Akiridion body.
Now with four arms and strength unfettered by a disguise, Krel collected up everything he needed from around his hotel room then sat down beside Tia.
Her bruising had gotten worse. He could only hope she was in a deep enough sleep to ignore the pain.
“I’m sorry,” he murmured, lifting her from the bed like a delicate flower. He knew every slight movement had to be hurting her. “I’ll be gentle.”
Keeping her upright, he used his extra arms to feel along the ridges of her ribcage, checking the damage. Human bodies were so fragile. His façade had prevented him from exerting too much of his natural strength, but he had still hurt her.
“I... promise it was necessary.”
He sighed, tracing the contours of her shoulders, arms, wrists. Luckily nothing else seemed broken. Sprained, perhaps.
He double-checked that Seamus had closed the door to the bathroom, then with the dignity of a paramedic, began peeling the swimsuit from her top half, simultaneously reaching for the set of black cordamite rings, slipping them across his fingers. He had recently branched into the study of practical application of Akiridion Tech on humans. His tests were still in their infancy, but had shown enough promise for this.
Breathing deep, he held his ringed hands to his core, imbuing the cordamite with energy. The stones began glowing the same colour as his skin, so he placed them on Tia’s chest, over her damaged ribs.
“Seklos and Gaylen, help me.”
Under the guide of the charged cordamite, Krel felt Tia’s muscles start to constrict; popping, shifting until they pulled the bone back into place. Human bodies truly were a hideous miracle. He glided his hands over her skin, being careful to touch each bruise and scrape in turn. Then with even more delicacy he pulled her forwards, cradling her against his body so he could work on her back.
It was a comfort to feel her gentle breath dusting over his skin; a steady rhythm that told him her body was working with him to keep her alive.
“You’ll be okay,” he murmured, tilting his head to speak close to her ear. He didn’t know if she could hear him, but he was troubled by the thought that she was someone’s daughter. Perhaps she was someone’s sister. He wanted her to feel safe, the way he hoped someone else would keep Aja safe.

If given the choice to 'fix' or change around or extend one of the trilogy series that isn't ROTT which would it be and what would you do?
Personally, I would go for 3Below, add a season 3 with an arc for Aja with queenship and a Gaylen's core arc for Krel. Also, paint light on Failkov and Coranda's wrongdoings upon the galaxy and how Aja can begin to make amends.

Give us the 600+ word wall of lore!
Okay, *cracks knuckles* we're gonna rewrite 3below, Wizards, (a bit of Trollhunters) and make their lore more overarching and actually work together.
Seklos and Gaylen were initially part of the Arcane Order. They along with Bellroc, Skrael, and Nari were pieces of the five primordial, elemental beings that initially created the Earth and everything on it. They are all the same kind of creature/beings and all have cores.
They worked together to create the planet and everything on it until they got into an argument over how their world should work and how they should take care of it. Nari, Bellroc, and Skrael sided with each other while Seklos and Galen sided against them. Inevitably from this argument, Seklos and Gaylen left Earth to make their own planet, taking their elements with them. With the sudden loss of two of it's elements the earth fell apart, leaving Nari, Skrael, and Bellroc to scramble and keep it held together as much as they could with their own elements.
The exertion of energy to keep the planet together was heavy on the remaining Arcane Order, and just before falling into a deep slumber, they created the Genesis Seals, an item that with all five of their elements, would be able to put their planet back together as it initially was created. Bellroc, Skrael, and Nari were all certain Seklos and Gaylen would eventually return to Earth.
Deep in space, far from Earth, Seklos and Gaylen find their own little spot and use the elements of their cores to create Akiridion-5 and it's moons. Together they use their cores to make it's first people and live their lives. Time passes and Seklos and Gaylen find themselves once again in a disagreement over how their world should work and how they should take care of it, only this time, Seklos creates her gun and reduces Gaylen to nothing but his core. She hides away his core, keeping it safe and keeping his element on the planet while running things her way.
Seklos creates more Akiridion people using her core (As per my Ak-5 reproduction headcanon explained here), whittling it down more and more until it is a fraction of what it initially was. With such little core left, Seklos grows ill and dies, her remaining core splitting into 4 pieces and making four descendants who become 4 royal houses of Akiridion-5. The Akiridion royals inherit the planet and cycle through their houses to rule over the planet and guard Gaylen's core. Over the ages, two of the royal houses die out, leaving Akraohm and Ventis left, who inevitably unite into House Tarron.
Trollhunters takes place, and like in 3below, Queen Coranda and King Fialkov decide to take Gaylen's core to Earth to hide it away from thieves who want to use it's power. When Jim defeats Bular, Kanjigar and Vendel finally trust him enough to tell him about Gaylen's core, and when the Hearthstone is destroyed and Trollmarket has to leave, Jim takes Gaylen's core with him to guard it (Merlin uses his magic to shrink it down to a more manageable size). None of them know the full extent as to when it is or what it does, simply that they have to protect it.
3below takes place, Morando finding Gaylen's core through Toby and manages to steal it from Jim and use it's power. 3below finale happens with Aja and Krel building Seklos' gun and using their parent's cores to kill Morando and leave Gaylen as his core once again. The use of their two elements in the battle is large enough that Nari, Skrael, and Bellroc finally awaken from their slumber, certain that Seklos and Gaylen have returned to put their planet back in one piece with all five of it's elements
Begin Wizards.
Bellroc, Nari, and Skrael all head to Arcadia, looking for Seklos and Gaylen, and then the Genesis seals.
Each of our Protagonists of the 3 series represents one of those pieces to fulfill the Arcane Order's plan.
Jim - Gaylen (the protector of his core)
Aja & Krel - Seklos (Her last direct descendants)
Douxie - The Genesis Seals (Merlin found the seals at one point and hid them inside Douxie)
The Arcane Order need to find Jim, fuse Aja and Krel's cores together to make them into Seklos again, and break the seal hidden in Douxie (killing him) in order to make their five element planet whole again. The result of which will destroy Earth and Akiridion-5 and all it's current inhabitants to fuse to two planets together and restart them as one.
Wizards kinda becomes what it originally was  described as, (mixed with a bit of RoTT as well)
Tumblr media
With our Trollhunters, Akiridions, and Wizards all trying to run from and thwart the Arcane Order so the planets remain as is. The time travel plot is removed.
(There's a bit of Akridion-5 lore and history I left out that requires it's own post and has some diagrams I want to draw to explain it. This fills in some small gaps from my summary -such as who the thieves are supposed to be. There also some more spoilerly elements to my Wizards rewrite that I left out since I plan to write this as a fanfic)

Hello, I hope you are well, I have a question for you, it would be peculiar that Kanjigar (alive) was trapped on the islands and one of them would be Starfall Island where he would discover that Gaylen's core is located and there is something more powerful than the core, the master emerald and would look for a way to free his friends and family from the limbo of the void and discover the secrets of the ancient civilization greater than the Akiridians and about the chaos emeralds accompanied by fialkov koco?
I'm doing quite fine. You raised a very interesting idea. It will be chaotic as Kanijar and ancient unknown technology is bound to have something explode. What would come of it this though as no plan survives contact.

But he did it for me
Krel didn't want to merge with Gaylen's core, so Douxie found another way to stop Bellroc and Skrael.
Krel regrets not having merged with Gaylen's core sooner.
Hi, everyone! I wrote this for day 3 of @krexiweek 2023: Enemies to Lovers/Lovers to Enemies. It takes place after Wizards, and is not RotT compliant.
The design and concept for devil!Douxie came from the lovely tenyai, but I went with an entirely different ship.
CW: references to self-harm
AO3
FFN
"So you merged with the core anyways," said the thing possessing Douxie. He sat on a throne, stone with a siglil carved into the back and a starburst behind him. His beautiful golden eyes had been replaced by a brighter yellow, with red sclera and slitted pupils. Krel didn't want to look at them. He forced himself to. "You should have convinced him earlier that you were determined, just scared. Then your boyfriend wouldn't have reached out to me."
"It's okay, Krel," Douxie said, laying a hand on Krel's shoulder. "You don't have to do this."
Krel tried not to lean into the touch "It's my destiny; it's written in my core."
"So? It was also written into your core that you were supposed to be king alongside Aja. Destiny can go fuck itself."
"That's different. Aja could rule alone. She's been very successful at it. That was a prophecy written by my parents." Krel swallowed down tears. "Being Gaylen's heir? No one could do anything about it. There isn't another way. Not this time. We need a god to kill a demigod, and I'm the only one who can merge with Gaylen's core without going mad."
"We don't know of another way," Douxie corrected. He turned Krel toward him, and Krel let himself become lost in those beautiful golden eyes. "We can find another way. Don't worry your beautiful mind over this; I will find another way."
"And where will you find another god? I don't think we're getting out of this." Krel leaned to kiss Douxie. He meant it as a goodbye. Instead, Douxie used the motion to pull Krel away from the Gaylen's core, and Krel went willingly.
"Give him back," Krel said, all four hands balling into fists.
The devil put a finger to Douxie's lips. "And what would you give me? It's not like I can take you over, given the double core you have. Besides, I already fulfilled my half of the deal. Bellroc and Skrael? Dead."
Gently, Douxie disentangled himself from his boyfriend's arms. Even in sleep, Krel didn't look peaceful. Douxie didn't know how to walk into another's dreams, but he didn't need to in order to know that Krel was still thinking about Gaylen's core. Krel didn't deserve all that fear and anguish. He deserved everything Douxie could give him. Douxie couldn't give Krel enough, but Douxie could give Krel this. Douxie had been living on borrowed time, anyways, ever since he fell from the sky.
Gaylen's core wasn't the only thing out there that could kill Bellroc and Skrael. Douxie hadn't even known about the connection until Nari had told him. They had destroyed the physical form of a devil in the decades before Arthur had began his purge of wizards. It had taken all three of them, and it had exhausted them for a year after. The devil had come back several times, possessing different wizards across the centuries.
Silently, Douxie kissed his boyfriend's forehead. He kissed Krel goodbye, and then he left Camelot and made his way to a place in the forest, a few miles away from Arcadia Oaks. Douxie made a circle in salt before he burned the sigils into the ground. Then, he dripped three drops of his own blood into the circle, immediately withdrawing his hand.
"Casperan," the devil said, a spectre of red and yellow. "Now what do I owe the pleasure?"
"You wanted to possess me a century ago."
"Why, are you offering yourself up now? What happened to Archie and Zoe? I remember them not wanting me to have you."
A century ago, Douxie, Zoe, and Archie had met a wizard who was possessed by this very devil. He had willingly left the wizard he was possessing and had gone to Douxie's. At the time, Douxie had never wanted to be possessed ever again. It wasn't like it had been for Claire or Jim; his soul had been trapped with the devil instead of in another world.
"Yes, they fought you out of me, and it was easy for them because I was fighting you to. I'm willing to make a deal this time."
"And what are the terms of your deal?"
"You kill Bellroc, Keeper of the Flame, and Skrael of the North Wind. And you don't hurt my friends afterwards."
"Counterpoint: I don't hurt them if they don't hurt me. Don't tell me you want to leave your body utterly defenseless?"
Douxie frowned. It wasn't like he could get everything he wanted. "Hurting you has to mean direct, physical harm. Insulting you doesn't count."
"Of course not! I'll only commit tit for tat."
"And you can kill Bellroc and Skrael?"
"Depends. Will Nari be with them?"
"Nari is one of my friends."
"Ah, what a change of heart! Well, with your power and mine, I can certainly rid the world of those two."
"Do we have a deal, Mordred?" Mordred merely stuck his hand out to the edge of the circle, smiling.
Douxie took a breath and passed his hand through the barrier of the salt circle, grabbing onto Mordred's hand. As they shook hands, Douxie broke the salt circle with his foot.
And then he screamed. Douxie's screaming eventually died down into Mordred's laughter.
"Um, a new body? I can give you one!" Krel offered. "No other soul to be stuck with, even."
"What, one of your Blanks? Of course not! Not after I finally have such a powerful wizard under my control. You'd have to find me another powerful wizard, willing to take me on, and I'd need to find them better than Casperan. Oh, and the two wizards waiting beyond the door to beat me out of Douxie aren't powerful enough to take me on. In both senses of the word."
Krel woke up alone. He woke up to Zoe and Archie having a furious argument.
Douxie was gone.
His soul remained.
Douxie was gone.
Bellroc and Skrael were no longer a problem, but Douxie hadn't thought too far ahead.
Douxie was gone.
Krel could get him back.
Douxie was gone without a note.
Krel left a note for Aja. He lined up Gaylen's core normal to his own. He then drove it through his chest.
Douxie was gone, and Krel hadn't been able to say goodbye. Hopefully he wouldn't need to.
"I didn't want to do this," Krel said as he drew his serrator.
Mordred looked from Krel's eyes to the blade. "And you don't have to! I could give you a place at my side. You're powerful. We could be wonderful together."
No. Krel and Douxie were wonderful together, not this facsimile. "With Gaylen's power and theirs, we will drive you out."
"Even if it means hurting your precious Casperan?" Mordred said before standing up from the throne. "Well, I believe this counts as an intent to attack. I'll be perfectly within my rights to defend myself. I've never fought an Akiridion god before. I'm sure it'll be fun. Maybe if you fight well enough and beg for mercy, I'll still let you become my general instead of just ripping your cores out of your chest."
Krel charged at the man who once was his boyfriend.
And as he charged, Zoe and Claire opened the doors behind him, making way for a final stand.
A/N: Fun fact: the title comes from a misremembering of a line from TMA episode 159. The misremembering of the line kept bouncing around my head like a pinball. Does that make Mordred a very OOC Peter Lukas? (Also yes I thought I was being clever by naming the evil form of Douxie "Mordred". I will never let the theory die.)

How about one of the KRoE au's, whichever one interests you more?
So those are two chapters of the same thing, one of my favourite AUs, Krel Raised on Earth AU. I don't remember if I've talked about it here or not so I'll do it now anyway.
Basically, Krel's parents decide wit his connection to Gaylen's core, it's too dangerous to raise him on Akiridion-5, so they bring him to Earth. They try Fialkov's aunt Iros's communicator since her last known location was Earth, but get Mort instead cause Iros is dead by now. Yes, this is wiz-fic verse based. No, I'm not sorry.
So Mort raises Krel on Earth. He was not told Krel was a royal or that Krel had a sister or, you know, anything helpful like that. Fialkov and Coranda do leave a serrator for Krel that can activate a transduction (temporarily child locked, of course). Flash forward to present day, Douxie is getting strange dreams of the Eternal Night and Aja Tarron has escaped with Vex to Earth and you kick off the actual written part of the AU.
Anyway, a snippet under the cut!
~~~~~~~
“You doing okay, Krel?”
Krel manages a half-glance towards his brother. Douxie looks concerned, face still scratched and muddy from the fight with the Zerons. He offers a shrug. “I guess. Why wouldn’t I be?”
“It’s just – well, they’re from your birth planet,” says Douxie.
“Yeah,” agrees Krel.
“You don’t seem as excited as I thought you’d be.” Douxie has always had a way of reading Krel, better than even Uncle Mort, so Krel’s not surprised that he’s picked up on his unease. “Are you okay?”
“I’m… fine,” says Krel. “I just – I’ve always wondered if I’d ever meet someone from Akiridion-5, but then… I’ve always been scared to meet them. Because what if they come here and take me away?”
Douxie is silent for a long moment. “Yeah… I’ve been a bit scared of that, too.”
“I know you were probably wondering why I didn’t tell them,” Krel says. “I just – I don’t want to leave. I’m terrified that one day my birth parents are going to show up and say the danger’s gone and take me to Akiridion-5. I don’t know them. I have a home here, I have a family. I have a brother and – and a dad and – I don’t want to lose that.”
Douxie bumps shoulders with him and smiles. “You won’t. Uncle Mort and I won’t let you go that easily. Even if your birth parents show up tomorrow and demand you return with them, I know I’d fight with everything I’ve got, and Uncle Mort won’t let anyone take you if you don’t want to go. Okay? You won’t lose us.”
“I still don’t want to tell them,” admits Krel. “Just in case.”
Douxie nods. “And that’s fine by me. Now we should probably shut up, there’s Eli’s.”
Krel chuckles. “Right, right – man, Seamus is gonna lose it when he hears this.”
“See, there it is,” Douxie says with a laugh. “Krel knows something, Seamus knows something. I warned them.”
Krel laughs too and smiles at his brother. “And Douxie? Thank you.”
“Any time, little bro,” says Douxie. “Any time.”
okay but has anyone realized how actually heartbreaking "save our friends or save the world? You have to make a decision!" actually is in context with what Krel has been through
because in wizards, we've been so focused on douxie and camelot and time travel shenaniganery and high-stakes, packed-full episodes that... you kinda forget where krel's perspective is coming from here
because in context of the timeline he was living? Krel just barely lost his parents. We don't know how much time passed between Morando's defeat and Aja and Varvatos and Eli leaving Earth. For all we know, for Krel, the Arcane Order catastrophe happens almost immediately (probably a few days to a week) after he and Aja were forced to choose- save their parents, the goal they worked towards through their entire show, or save the universe.
Krel knows what it is to look for that third option, fail, and lose everything you worked for- to be forced to make the A or B choice. In one line, they revealed just how deeply Krel's way of thinking has been hardened by what 3Below put him through.
Krel went along with "try to stop Morando before he integrates with Gaylen's core", and he THOUGHT of "bring in the giant fleet". And they still lost their parents.
Anyway there's a whole lot behind that one little line is all I'm saying and also they did my boy dirty in Wizards
I think Gaylen's Core is still out there. The original Seklos' Cannon didn't destroy it. Since the royals chose to hide it instead of destroying it then it means even they didn't have the technology or power (and they are very much more advanced than Earthlings) to destroy it.
Heck, if they could've, they would've and should've, but didn't so that means they couldn't.
Maybe this is what Krel's arc would've been if Wizards were longer?
Okay Theory/Headcanon Time!
I honestly wanted rott to explain the why and how of Gaylen (and presumably Seklos) were originally from Earth. That didn’t happen. So now it’s my job. Also includes Gunmar and Morando’s villain origin story on accident.
Okay so they were also siblings (or whatever the heck you’d call their relationship) with the Arcane Order at first
Bellroc is the oldest, then Gaylen, then Skrael, then Nari, then Seklos
So Gaylen was the god of water and animal life (all life started in the ocean)
(since Nari seems to be about Earth and plants and we’ll get to why it seems to intersect with Skraels powers later)
Seklos was a god of balance between her four siblings
Bellroc was made to be a counter to Skrael and Nari a counter to Gaylen
Humans evolved according to the theory of evolution, but got nudges from the AO along the way
Nari created trollkind that’s why they tended to be peaceful before the Gumm Gumms
So Gaylen didn’t like that Nari got to create a race and he (her counter) didn’t
He created Akiridion 5, with permission from Seklos bc balance, drawing strength from his heartstone and using its crystals to give life to its inhabitants
He had four failed attempts before though (Akiridions 1-4)
(So life cores and heartstone are the same material ok? Ok. Also each of the AO members was tied to a specific heartstone (but there were still more than 5 heartstones) that’s why the titans spawned where they did)
Then the power goes to his head and he tries to become king of the universe (aka over throw the rest of the arcane order)
Seklos has to step in because bringing balance and sacrifices her heartstone/life core to destroy him
Maybe this is the heartstone that birthed Gunmar???
That’s not what this is about tho
But then the rest of the AO are worshipped on Akiridion 5 as gods of sorts
But not like how we think of gods on Earth
They’re regarded as factual as Seklos and Gaylen
Which is widely known but only half believed out of respect
Bellroc is more a god of minerals and the materials that the akiridions use to build
Nari is seen more as a healing spirit for when people need to regenerate from their cores
Skrael is seen as more of a tech god or a weather god (what sorts of weather do they have on A5?)
So then maybe 1500-2000 years post Seklos and Gaylen (yes A5 is much younger than earth but had existed for at least 1000 years before Gaylen died not to mention 1-4) Val Morando gets a voice in his head or whatever
One of the AO members (probably Skrael since I feel like they have the most Akiridion vibes and are probably worshipped/taken more seriously than Bellroc) convinces him that he has divine right to the palace
That’s how he got so many followers, despite being a dick with no clear motives or incentives for the people to follow him, even fascists need to sound good to acquire enough power to throw a coup and remain in power
He gained followers especially from the moons, which are the outskirts of the planet like a rural area is to a city, particularly Satellite 9 *cough cough* Varvatos Vex
Also since the world was very recently unified (Fialkov and Coranda talk about how they merged the ruling houses and stuff) that would also push people into supporting Morando if they didn’t like the decision to unify under the new House Tarron
Okay back to the power overlap with Skrael, I think that they took on more of Gaylen’s water power than they originally had
Maybe he was more of an air god and ice was secondary until the water god was gone
And Nari adopted animal life into their domain
Belroc was originally less lava and more straight up fire but around this shift they got more lava powers as well since they and Nari seem to share rock based powers
This magic shift was part of Seklos’s final act as the god of balance (along with killing Gaylen and creating the genesis seals)
Becoming titans and then having the titans killed would destroy each AO member’s core/heartstone as well
So Seklos planned for them all to die if their creations (humans, trolls, akiridions) were deemed worthy
Okay fuck it this is long already here’s what I have to say about Gunmar
He’s created from a dead heartstone that originates in Seklos being sad and angry with her sibling
He’s a troll because Nari’s the only life god left then
This is about the time of the initial conflict with trolls and humans that caused the creation of the darklands as a place for trolls to live so the trolls thought he was a product of that conflict
Which did play a part in how he developed as a character
Being told he was created by conflict his whole life and being the only troll without peaceful instincts for a time
Eventually the trolls resurfaced a century or so before Arthur was born as a result of wanting to escape Gunmar’s power
By then Bular was fully grown and Gunmar had acquired Gumm Gumm allies by making alliances with leaders and taking whelps in exchange for leaving villages in peace
Then we get into canon territory
So yeah…
I hope this makes sense, please let me know if it doesn’t
