Yeah so I didn’t continue watching Sandman and I actually cancelled my Netflix subscription in part because of how I hated it xD

I just didn’t want to continue to see how they butchered other parts of the comics that I loved so, so much and that are so personal to me.

The comics were such a fundamental part of my adolescence tbh, and the TV series was too disappointing to me. The nice thing about it I guess is that it reminded me of how amazing the comics are, and I’m going to reread them soon. 

If I didn’t watch the first episodes I might enjoy all the fan art floating around inspired by it, but now I just cringe if I see that it’s inspired by the TV series ... :/

The previous episode reminds me a lot of episode 10 where Kanat also acted weird, ignored Ekim’s calls, helped bandage Melissa’s hand, didn’t bother to check up on Ekim and then went running to save Melisa. The fact that the writers are doing all this to make the viewers question his love for Ekim and wonder if he’s still in love with Melisa/Gaye shows how bad they are at writing angst. It's cheap and lazy writing.

Yeah, now that you've mentioned it, I see the similarities with his behaviour in episode 10, only in episode 18 all of it kinda intensified tenfold.

As for making the audience question his love for Ekim, I'm, personally, not questioning Kanat's love. It's clear to me that he doesn't really love her. When I think back on episode 2, where Hazal warned Ekim that Kanat cannot love like normal people do, the last episode actually starts making sense 🤔
