Energy Stores ⚡🏪 - Physics

Magnetic energy store - the energy stored when poles attract or repel 🧲

E.g.: Fridge magnets, compasses, maglev trains which use magnetic levitation

Internal (thermal) energy store - the total kinetic and potential energy of the particles in an object aka the kinetic energy/vibrations of particles. Hotter object 🔥-> MORE internal energy (particles vibrate faster)

E.g.: Human bodies 🤾🏼, hot coffees ☕, stoves or hobs. Ice particles 🧊 too, just they vibrate slower.

Chemical energy store - the energy stored in chemical bonds, like the bonds between molecules

E.g.: Food, fuel, certain chemicals found in batteries

Kinetic energy store - the energy store of a moving object

E.g.: Any moving object, really

Electrostatic energy store - the energy stored when charges (protons+ & electrons-) attract/repel

Elastic potential energy store - the energy store of an object that is being squashed/stretched

Gravitational potential energy store - the energy of an object above the surface of the Earth 🌍 - the higher the object is, the higher its gravitational potential energy

If Rishi Sunak actually goes through with 'mandatory Maths A levels for all students', I would like to know some things.

Does this mean he is going to give schools more funding to employ more teachers to teach more A level maths?

What about the people who already struggle with GCSE maths and will have their mental health impacted?

Will he fund more schools to have propper mental health systems and more student support staff to support those students?

Will he fund study programs for people failing the A levels?

Just going to say, that the GCSE maths curriculum is ridiculously hard and unnecessary as is for students, and students who are not interested in going into a maths oriented career do not need to take A level maths.

I personally am currently in my first 3 weeks of GCSE maths, and I understand NONE OF IT, so if Rishi could please explain what he will do to help kids like me when they eventually reach A levels after a gruelling 2 years of not understanding GCSE maths and getting bad grades, that would be fantastic, but he won't, so we just have to wait and see what bullshit he does.

absolutely wild to me that your whole life is defined by exams you took when you were seventeen. their brains are not even fully developed yet. please pick a lane, adults. you dismiss their words. you call young people stupid and unable or not old enough to have good opinions or make choices or participate in the choosing of their own futures and yet you define their futures by one little test. well guess what an exam has a fuckton of choices and if they can't be trusted to have an opinion on their own lives then maybe they can't be trusted to make academic choices on a test either. either you give us a voice or you will not hear until it's too late

Throwback to my old computer science teacher, who left when I was in Year 9, who told me before I knew I was trans that I should consider going into the computer science field because I was good at it and there wasn't enough woman in computer science.

hey, my names sting! I am a student in high school doing GCSE’s. My hobbies include; reading, writing (I don’t nearly do both enough) , art (digital and physical mediums), exploring, crafts (I’m a sucker for knitting) and learning! I am a big believer in knowledge is power and in this world you can never have enough, so I have made this account to possible make some friends who I can share my interests with, and who can relate to the study grind ;D (that was sarcastic).

Why I made this page

I do love having an education, yet I have always struggled with consistency (a lifelong struggle). This inconsistency is due to various life circumstances, yet in true existentialist fashion, I believe i am in total power of how I conduct my choices, meaning that my past shall not determine my future. I hope by making this page I can document my studying in a community of similar individuals. Sharing knowledge with likely people in this community will not only motivate me yet will give studying more of a purpose!

This month is the last full month I have before my GCSEs which ngl sounds terrifying… but it also means it’s the last opportunity I have to really nail down on the content. I’ll be making use of early mornings to study as well as school lunches.

my days are going splendidly! i am simply letting my brain rot everyday this is sooo not what i planned for this year

finished my maths hw (was quite a thick stack and it took me forever)

started rewatching gilmore girls

had to bring my bro out for his athletics class so i was reading a book while waiting

also today i found out that i wld be in the same class as this girl who has caused problems for me in the past... except that now there seems to be a total of 7 girls in my class of 30 meaning we'll have to stick together. i rly dont want any past drama to spill over and affect my time in jc so i unblocked her and texted her about it... she hasn't replied but its just kinda dkfjcnsdkjfn i didnt think i wld end up in this situation i was looking forward to not seeing her again...
