When shadows fall

Candle lights dinner

Just for two

Dancing, hugging manner

The whole night through

I wait daily at your front door

Oh! As usual, what a thrill

Just as it has been before

Then comes the winter chill

And whoosh! You are gone

A hopeful wait, till the sun frowns

In the treacherous wind, all alone

The mountains call

Pattering waterfall

Early morning train

On the go again

Distant hills

Greeting mills

Winding canals

Nature’s little pals

Peaceful streams

As from my dreams

Snowy rain

Across the plains

Sunny blue sky

Cottages flashing by

Sleepy dwarfed houses

Sensuous nature arouses

Smiling meadows

Peaks of snow

Slopes of green

In scenes serene

Stillness of a lake

From the deep awake

Spotlights in the night

Shining from the stars

Steal the twinkling of the night

Silently locating where you are

Stillness sets my soul on fire

Surrendering to the whims of night

Searching for my heart’s desire

Sweetness lingers on my lips delight

Showering charms of magic

Shadows, slashing to curtail

Strikes of lightning in a frantic

Shooting star lighting up a trail

Stardusts sprinkle from on high

Setting up a stage for my dream

Soothing sparkles from your eyes

Shyly, quietly, you share my dream

Impetuous fire of youth

A bursting of sweet desire

An emotional moment of truth

Glowing amber sparkling into fire

Irresistible impulse to act

Rash, and perhaps irrational

A momentary impetus to react

Live out a dream beyond normal

Frozen state of icy contemplation

To thaw out and flow once more

Time wags on, through motion

Till the roses bloom as before

To tease and to parry

Daintily, a fairest maiden

Loving kisses, youthful marry

Home, Sweet Home

Home, where my heart is

At wherever I am happiest

Let me recall

From my first family outing

To my very first kiss.

Friends, children’s laughters

Butterflies, bees, twinkling stars

Water trickling over stones

Distant church bells, gentle breezes,

Snowflakes, flowers, falling leaves

April showers, and morning dew.

Yes, these are pleasant memories

It’s a lot of joy, gladness and peace

And more - coming from the outside

Truth is felt in my inner self, joy or pain

It resides in the true home in my heart

The rest are just happy or sad triggers.

Memories In Black And White

Wrapped in black and white memories

Hidden, forgotten, suppressed miseries

Memories with roots not deeply seated

Not hot, not cold, lukewarm, ill heated

Only black and white, no grey at all

Nothing in between, no short, no tall

Yes or no, just one out of two choices

Frown or cheer, melancholic or rejoice

What I had learnt or had been taught

In the two opposites or one is naught

Colorless, pale in beauty and beast

Unreachable venue in grandest feast

No vivid recollection, not in details

Plain ambiguity, definitely to fail

in taste, smell, color, or emotions

No show of courage, no devotion

Uncolored, unclean, white, tintless

Faded drab, dull, neutral, toneless

monochrome, walls unpainted

Wobbly weaklings, unacquainted

Uncanny, disintegrated, no spirit

No soul at all, loveless, inexplicit

No wealth, no self worth, no bite

Memories, all in black and white
