Astrology Observations No.26

(Just based on my opinions, only take what resonates)

-Aquarius mars can denote a career around trends, tech, and social media. It can also denote your career taking off during times of social progress or spearheading social progress. (John Boyega’s career took off when he became the face of a much more diverse Star Wars, and a lot of his most celebrated roles have a social consciousness to them, pretty great if I do say so myself)

-Virgo venus gets the reputation of being picky in relationships (and they are) but I feel like Sagittarius Venus can be more fickle. Virgo Venus natives have a set of standards and attributes they’re looking for, but Sagittarius Venus natives will put you on a pedestal then knock you off of it when you do something they don’t like.

-Underdeveloped Gemini Venus will ghost you in the middle of a crisis (man Pisces Venus too, but they may feel bad about it lol)

-When it comes to a sense of justice, I feel as though (developed) Scorpio moons give everyone a run for their money

-I feel like Aquarius in big 3 (sun, moon, rising) can often find themselves being forced to be humanitarian/being made to work toward the greater good in some situations (to lend others money, to take care of friends/family, to befriend someone lonely, etc.) I feel like these placements often can be forced to give more of themselves than they are comfortable with (developed ones will often find a great sense of joy in connecting with others through care though)

-On the other hand I feel like Leo in the big 3 can find themselves being forced to pay attention to themselves/become the center of attention (elevated at a job for their hard work, given unexpected attention for a talent, etc.) With Leo placements I notice that in their home life or childhood they may not receive the attention they need, but early on they get attention from outsiders. So they end up going through this arch of getting more comfortable with their sense of self and being in the spotlight.

-Aries placements can often be the first in their family to do something (go to college, start a business, etc) without more long term oriented placements things like businesses may not last though

-Virgo/Gemini/3rd/6th house placements and having an absolute weakness for stationary lol (I have a 3rd house Stellium and I have to force myself not to buy a sketchbook or notebook every time I’m out, with a 40% success rate lol)

-I always expect Libra placements (especially sun/Asc/Venus/mars) to have a very blonde/fair/delicate features naturally but a lot of Libras have this gothic look, like raven hair ivory skin classic beauty (and a lot of PoC I follow with Libra placements can be much darker skinned, which is also a beautifully classic look)

-I think Jupiter and Saturn count towards your personality, but since they’re slower moving planets I view them as the bridge between the asc/sun/moon/mercury/Venus/mars placements that really directly define your personality and the generational planets that show up in traits across people in your age range (but effect everyone differently because of house placements and aspects)

-Do a lot of people get sick during Scorpio season? Or is it just me ?? (During the last week of Scorpio season like 6 people I knew got sick at the same time and I had a medical thing, wtf it’s uncanny)

-I think Neptune in Capricorn is a big reason that depression became such a focal point for younger millennials and elder gen z- well that and late stage capitalism but yknow. (Capricorns being prone to depression, and Neptune ruling over mental illness)

-You may show more of the traits of the sign in your 12th house when inebriated (like sun in 12th may be more outgoing when they drink, moon in 12th may be more introverted/emotional, mercury in 12th may be more chatty and inquisitive, Venus in 12th may be more charming/romantic, mars in 12th may be more aggressive/antagonistic/s*xual)

-Mars in 12th/Pisces mars may find that unresolved tension sits on their subconscious and makes it hard for them to do other tasks

-Cancer over the houses can show where you feel at home (cancer in the 4th is super loyal to their family/mother, cancer in the 7th means you feel at home with a nurturing partner, cancer in the 9th means you feel at home abroad and traveling and with other communities or with religion, cancer in 11th means you feel super at home with your friends.)

I noticed in 10th house Synastry house person could feel like planet person is shallow if you know them irl or it could be difficult to build a deeper connection w them but if it’s a celeb/far distance person you feel like you know them better than most people 💀 esp if it’s in a water sign notice me jungkook 💜

I’ve noticed people with outer planets in the 1st have shocking resemblance to their ancestors

Capricorn placements don’t get enough recognition for how many hidden gifts/ talented they are. I feel like people forget that they’re half goat/fish so their creativity can go overlooked(wow what a surprise). Wherever Capricorn/ Saturn is in you chart is where your hidden talents are, where you tend to feel shunned from/your biggest obstacles in life, where people try to belittle you because they see your potential. But once you realize your potential and work on it consistently you can become oh so powerful.

6th:their work ethic, natural healers, could be accused of being lazy, having haters at work, animals love them but they could’ve have bad experiences with them in the past, having good health/nice body if you’re persistent

3rd: being discouraged by your peers/teachers/family because of your communication skills, could do really well in later school years and also could be popular, feeling like your pov is never taken into thought, they could have been the child that was the most problematic but also the one that holds the family together like glue

12th: they sometimes could feel like a shadow also could see shadows💀 strong intuition without knowing it, people could spread lies behind ur back, another healer placement, you know other peoples fantasies & secrets bc of insights you get via dreams, having lots of hidden talents/info that you learn about yourself as you get older, definition of old souls

Also I’ve noticed Capricorn placements (esp fems) have strong intuition especially in tough situations they’re definitely the ones you go to for advice

REMI WOLF - "PRESCRIPTION"

Aaron Bergstrom: Boots Riley starts big. His new show I'm A Virgo comes with the contradictions pre-heightened, a masterful Afro-surrealist fun house with every absurdity stretched to its breaking point, amplifying a message that has never been more timely: real change doesn't come from painstakingly crafted anti-capitalist rhetoric or even aspiring revolutionaries with questionable superpowers, as convenient as that might be. It comes from community. It comes from solidarity. It comes from other people. Remi Wolf starts small. "Prescription," written at Riley's request for a very specific plot point in I'm A Virgo (I won't spoil it, but the episode is called "Balance Beam"), opens on spare drums and descending synths, Gen Z Prince working through some social anxiety issues. Wolf said that the song is about "being in love and being really, really scared about it," and it's that underlying fear that underpins the subsequent ascent into ecstasy, the horns and the key change and the climax that probably only works if you're just a little bit nostalgic for Macy Gray. It all hinges on giving up control. This isn't the kind of joy you can find on your own. It comes from connection. It comes from other people. Riley and Wolf arrive at the same place: whether your revolution is personal or political, you're going to have to let yourself be vulnerable. You're going to have to reach out. [9]

David Moore: Remi Wolf, the little pop engine that couldn't -- thanks to the peculiar vagaries of Spotify's algorithms and curated playlists, I think I've heard almost everything Remi Wolf has ever released, and every time I hear a song, I'm really into it for about 15 seconds before the pleasure slowly ebbs. (My favorite Remi Wolf song is this Little Dragon remix of "Disco Man," which must employ some kind of Energy Star plugin to keep things humming along consistently.) At the same time, I don't know that there's a single bad Remi Wolf song either -- there's something sort of captivating about Remi Wolf's oeuvre, all these little candles emitting a few dazzling flickers before inevitably snuffing themselves out. [6]

Peter Ryan: A smidge more narratively straight-ahead than the gnarly, motormouthed Juno or its predecessor EPs; here Wolf's sonic freak-out puts a point on the exhilaration of the lyric -- you couldn't really call it mellowed, but it's less wickedly hedonistic in sound than a lot of her work, more a snowballing sugar overload. In three-minute form it's a bit of a band showcase, a rich thicket of soul-pop horns punctuated by Wolf's increasingly enraptured vocal breaks and ad-libbing. I'll take the seven-minute version, of course, indulgent and luxuriating in the thrall of yearning while affording the arrangement more time to unfold and Wolf more space to settle into it, goofy jam-interlude and all. At any length it might sound like a stopover for one of pop's most chaotic, inventive voices, but that restless energy at the core of her work would enliven even the most dependable of tropes. [8]

John S. Quinn-Puerta: A sex jam with more than cursory shout outs to depression, "Prescription" pulls off one of my favorite tricks, layering instruments progressively with each chorus. Wolf's squeaky half shouts play nicely off a rich round bass guitar, which in turn plays off the bouncy, just buzzy enough acoustic. The layered vocals in the bridge feel earned, breaking through into a lush horn and piano-scape. [9]

Nortey Dowuona: The way this song opens up with flat demo synths and drums, with Remi's high voice catapulting over thin guitar, made me feel like we were not going to go anywhere. Then the bass slid in, the horns started stabbing and punctuating certain lyrics and sidewinding during the chorus and the piano riff appears at the tail end of the second verse, and I was hooked. The lush and muscular bass rumbles below the mix and girds an otherwise very thin song with a strength it needs. But the extended version, which has an extra verse and refrain and chorus, feels both less abrupt and more vivid, allowing the song space to become bigger and bigger and delightful, while Remi -- even in all the lushness -- is still visible at the roots, her thin keening voice which was allowed no space on the standard version spreading far and wide, at ease, excited, delighted to refill. [8]

Ian Mathers: "Effortful" is not necessarily a synonym for "bad." [7]

Leah Isobel: Surprised to not hate a Tones & I-style vocal affection in 2023, but I think it's because the production's vaporwave synth textures and aggressively contained snare hits aim at an equally unreal emotional tone. It's not soulful, but "soulful": aware of its own absurdity and desperation. [7]

Katherine St Asaph: An absolute vocal ordeal. [1]

Joshua Minsoo Kim: She's singing her damn heart out, maybe even literally. [3]

Alfred Soto: No way I'd listen to this indie playroom "Purple Rain" meets "Brownsville Girl" again, but the soupy mix in which a brass section and pattern bob and turn complements the deliberately unhinged vocal performance. If I'd watched it on a busy street corner I'd look over my shoulder once. [6]

Brad Shoup: On the one hand, isn't pumping your devotional funk ballad with enough vocal fuckery to induce hypoxia a perfect Prince tribute? Some of those hoots in the post-chorus made me rip my headphones off, not because they were bad (they were), but because I thought one of my kids woke up. In places it sounds like she's trying to triangulate the Troutman talkbox through sheer vocal layering. Still, as insistent as she is, the arrangement of oozy synth/banjo pluck/brass hits is easy as hell, even if it's hard to pick out. Like she says, it makes my skin crawl in the best way (Adderall). [7]

Will Adams: All those vocal pyrotechnics only for them to be shoved way down in the mix. Why? It's not like the instrumental's ~chill vibes~ are particularly attention-grabbing. [5]

Hannah Jocelyn: I love that Remi Wolf stretches her voice as far as it can go and she's never actively grating for most of the song. Maybe it's because Nathan Phillips places Wolf (and the choir of Remi Wolves) far back in the mix; I can't explain why, but the effect is less someone screaming in your face and more witnessing Ken barely step out of frame to yell "SUBLIME!" The outro goes too over-the-top and bright -- the situation calls for Brittany Howard, someone who Remi Wolf is decidedly not -- but until then, there's a lot to love.. [7]

Vikram Joseph: Turns out the difference between "classic-sounding" and "derivative" is largely just charm, which Remi Wolf has in buckets and which turns a song that could have been a rote gospel-pop exercise into a full-hearted, grin-inducing joy of a song. It has shades of "I Try", and while it's not quite as beautifully constructed it more than matches it in endearing vocal acrobatics and in exuberant dorkiness -- "Prescription" is a love song that's totally sincere but which doesn't take itself remotely seriously. It feels like walking through your city in the sun and being weightless; it feels like "climbing over the walls I made"; it feels like giving yourself completely to someone and it not hurting at all. [8]

Jacob Sujin Kuppermann: I do not believe that one's background inherently determines one's future but as a Californian I must call it as I see it: this is exactly the kind of song you make when you go to Palo Alto High School and then USC Thornton. [5]

The Ledge #609: New Releases Pt. 1

Once again, the monthly new release show has to be expanded into a two-part extravaganza. 2023 is seriously shaping up to be a wonderful year for new music, as evidence not only by tonight's show but all of our new release broadcasts so far this year.

As always, we have some tracks by "friends" of the show (Rob Moss, Dave Strong, Robbie Quine, Friends of Cesar Romero and others), some longtime faves (The Hillbilly Moon Explosion, Laura Jane Grace, Keith Richards, etc.) and quite a few relative newcomers (Shadow Show, Mala Vista, Faz Waltz, and so much more).

But this episode also includes a couple of tunes by a record that could quite possibly end up being my favorite record of the year, the self-titled debut album by The Sleeveens on Dirtnap Records. This is the dirty garage/punk record I've been crdaving for quite some time, and I hope you folks all love it as much as I do. 

And once again I have a late entry to the "Teenage Kicks" cover series, thanks to a fellow DJ who sent me a version set to be released in April by Canadian Music Hall of Famer Lee Aaron. The Undertones tune is part of a covers album titled "Tattoo Me", which also includes remakes of songs by Elastica, Led Zeppelin, Nina Simone, and Elton John. Yeah, quite an odd assembly of songs.

my current sims 3 lepacy 'ultimate completionist challenge'

My challenge started in sunset valley with the base game only enabled (as I assume every legacy starts 😅). We are currently at Week 11, Day 2.

We started with my created sim Aura Saylor, who is a couch potato, hates the outdoors, virtuoso, coward and never nude (all of these were randomly rolled). Her lifetime wish was hit movie composer and she reached this goal and thus got to the top of her career. She likes pop music, goopy carbonara and the colour orange. She's a Capricorn. She mastered the logic, painting, cooking, guitar and handiness skills. She is currently a resurrected ghost in my game, she died from old age.

She had 3 children, the first one was fathered by Parker Langerak. His name is Aydin Saylor (our heir for 2nd gen), he is a couch potato, good, perfectionist, ambitious and mean spirited. His favourites are pop music, fish and chips and the colour blue. He is a Scorpio. His lifetime wish is to be the leader of the free world, he is currently 2 levels away from completing this. He mastered the gardening skill and is on the way to master charisma. He is currently still alive in my game and has 14 days before he becomes an elder.

The next 2 children were twins, they were born when Aydin was a young adult. The father was Christopher Steel. The first twin is named Ela Saylor, she is a slob, heavy sleeper, snob, evil and a kleptomaniac. She likes indie music, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and the colour yellow. She is a Scorpio and her lifetime wish is to become a master thief. She is currently at level 6 of her career and is on her way to accomplish her lifetime wish. She is on the way to master the athletic skill. She is still alive and 12 days from becoming an adult in my game.

Her twin brother is called Brody Saylor and he has a good sense of humour, is a couch potato, a slob, can't stand art and friendly. He likes indie music, fish and chips and the colour black, he is a virgo (but they're twins so they should have the same sign 🙄). His lifetime wish is to become a professional author and he is on the way to master the writing skill. He has written no books so far as I want him to get a high level before he starts that, I'm probably gonna focus on poetry books for him as I haven't tried that yet. He is also still human and also has 12 days until he becomes an adult.

Aydin has a wife that lives in our household. Her name is Beth Saylor, she was born from Hank Goddard and Pauline Wan. She is insane, athletic, a light sleeper, a mooch and friendly. She like pop music, tri-top tofu steak and the colour Irish green. Her lifetime wish is becoming a superstar athlete but she's only on level 1 of the athletic career 🥲. She is a Libra and has 14 days before she becomes an elder. She is still human and on the way to achieve mastery in fishing and athletic skills.

Aydin and Beth have had a daughter. Her name is Aleena Saylor, she is absent-minded and excitable. She liked Latin music cheese tofu steak and the colour orange. She is a gemini and is a toddler. She is aging up today (🥳). I'm hoping for her to collect all the possible collections once she ages up.

CELEBRATING THE COMPOSITIONS OF WAYNE SHORTER, JAZZ SPECTRUM on WGTE, 18 MARCH 2023

Last week’s show was all Wayne Shorter’s playing on many of these very same tunes as selected by the regular host. He was a wonderful saxophonist, playing with both Art Blakey and Miles Davis (and essentially their music directors/composers) in two of the finest bands of their eras.

On the shared notion that he is also in the next tier of jazz composers just below Ellington/Strayhord and Monk, I took the assignment of showing how the tunes breathe and have a life of their own in the hands of the ever evolving jazz community.

My method was to find interesting/favorite players take up these tunes. Often I relied on the Secondhand Songs website for suggestions. But I had some definite ideas, such as relying on Palladium, an ensemble organized by Jesse Markowitz that plays Wayne Shorter music and includes young heroes like Nicole Glover and Sean Mason. Then there’s both Shorter tunes on the Jimmy Rowles/Stan Getz desert istand album, The Peacocks. And, what to do with the Weather Report era? Easy, Christian McBride did one with his pianoless quartet, New Jawn, that nonetheless conveys all the keyboards and percussion.

That was my first set: Palladium’s ESP that includes Shorter’s own voice, Sightseeing, and Lester Left Town.

I first heard Palladium when they did all of Speak No Evil, so that was the next idea with an array of artists and ensembles assaying that brilliant album.

Sanctuary from Ingrid Jensen and Jason Miles, and, at the end of the night, Masqualero with Marc Copland addressed Shorter’s contribution to Miles’ Bitches Brew. And I closed with Sean Mason’s meditative solo piano version of Weather Report’s Palladium as yet another reflection on how the electric tunes are above all tunes with life beyond the production elements.

But mostly I dug into the Blakey and Miles era tunes from the likes of Dave Liebman/Richie Beirach in Quest, the Dave Douglas/Joe Lovano Shorter tribute band, George Cables, Mary Halvorson in Thumbscrew, Fred Hersch (a couple of times), Kenny Werner.

I took the liberty with the Song of the Week segment to make Footprints the Tune of the Week bookending the original with his return to it with his wonderful latter era quartet. There’s Kenny Barron in there along with the SF Jazz Collective (Renee Rosnes arranged the tune).

🌩 astrology observations 🌩

because someday i had to hop on the bandwagon after reading them for so long.

DISCLAIMER: these observations all come from personal experience, i am no professional astrologer, only take what resonates!

☁️ venus in the cancer-capricorn axis are so damn underrated. i swear, these people are the ultimate providers in relationships, and they'll always be there for you when you need it, true ride or die energy with these people.

☁️ i can never realize someone's a pisces rising until they show me their chart. pisces in general tends to be very flowy and adaptable, so it may be more natural for these risings to blend in with the crowd.  h o w e v e r , their eyes might be a good giveaway. they tend to have an overall soft, watery look even if they're not blue (examples: billie eilish, michael jackson, zayn malik).

☁️ speaking of pisces placements, i've noticed most of the ones i know have shown deep interest in different artistic pursuits, specially songwriting, poetry, photography and film.

☁️ the same goes for leos but with them (and i say these as someone who attracts way too much leo energy) it's more related to performing arts. the ones i've seen more interested in writing also had a virgo mercury.

☁️ i've never seen two capricorns have a peaceful relationship with their parents, there's always one of them who prefers not to talk about it.

☁️ besides, i've seen that you're not "supposed" to get along with signs inconjunct (that make an angle of 150°, or are five signs away from yours) yours, since the inconjunction/quincunx is an aspect of total misunderstanding. however, i find signs like gemini and leo way too prominent on most of my friends' charts. maybe it's because i am a fire dominant as well so i tend to enjoy having fire and air energy all around me, but... i disagree with "textbook" astrology on this particular take. if leos and geminis bring me discord, i want more of it.

☁️ this is a popular one, but stop with the oversexualization of scorpio placements. the scorpio archetype has to do with many more things such as discoveries, taboo, mystery, emotional depth, secrets, the unknown, looking deep within ourselves, psychology. it is also related to sexuality, but... chill out on that aspect, please.

☁️ aquarius placements culture is saying: "i did x before it was popular". and i am directing this towards most of gen z because we all have at least one generational planet in there (could be uranus, neptune or both -i have both). if they're personal planets, of course the effect is even more intense.

☁️ the sagittarius-gemini axis gets the best ranter award, i swear i could hear these guys talk for hours.

☁️ can some people stop stereotyping sag and gemini venuses as cheaters? as a sag venus, i do tend to get bored easily, but that doesn't mean i'll cheat, i just need someone who can keep up with a great amount of energy and my random rants at 1am about useless topics.

☁️ look at the top students in your class, they probably have an earth or air mercury since those are the elements where mercury's the most comfortable in. that doesn't mean that if you have a water/fire mercury you're dumb, by the way, it's just that communication may not be as effective and striaghtforward, with cold hard facts.

☁️ people with aquarius in personal planets can go from "fashion icon" to "wtf were you thinking??" way too fast. but you guys, just like your sister sign leo, certainly do not go unnoticed.

☁️ i have come to the conclusion that the most intense energy belongs to fixed signs. i can feel those folks from a mile away. i've also been living in a fixed dominant family my whole life, so i have experience with them in general.

☁️ speaking of fixed signs, i'd like to add that not only tauruses are the monarchs of stubbornness, but the entire fixed mode can have that characteristic as well. of course, it depends of the entire chart, but when i encounter someone who's a fixed dominant and they disagree with me on something, even though i'm right, i just let them be for a while. they probably won't admit you were right and might act like it was their idea all along, though.

☁️ you may tend to enjoy music made by people who have personal placements landing on your fifth house. for example, i am an aries rising, so my 5H lands in leo, sign that many of my favorite artists have as their big three (rina sawayama, woodz, phoebe bridgers and jesse rutherford are leo suns; jungkook and heize are leo moons). also pay attention to the signs in your 8H and 12H along with your venus sign, your faves could have important placements in those.

☁️ fire risings all radiate main characte, given that the houses are all in the elements they are the most comortable in (the 1st is in a fire sign, the 2nd in earth, the 3rd in air, 4th in water, etc.). and in the case of aries risings, we have all our houses "in order".

☁️ people tend to stereotype aries placements as the ones with anger issues (when we're just being passionate, btw 🙄), but... have you guys seen a taurus? specifically a taurus mars? they'll raise hell if you cross the limits of their patience.

☁️ fire dominant culture is being told you're being "too much" at least once a week...

☁️ it's so fun to see my mom and i pick a destination to go to because you can literally see our venus signs in action. she, a taurus venus, is always talking about how much she wants to go somewhere she can be comfortable, in a resort with beautiful views to the coast. on the contrary there's me, a sagittarius venus, who would much rather get lost in a city, exploring and learning and moving all the time because that's how restless i am. i just can't imagine paying so much just to be locked up in a hotel, you know? i need to go places.

☁️ moon in the 6H people deserve an award for being the underrated mom friends we all need -they'll call you out on your bs right away, specially if they have strong aries energy.

*just based off of my personal experiences, only take what resonates

-Capricorn Moon/Moon conjunct/opposition/square Saturn could point to parents trying to control the native for financial gain

-Asc square mars can make the native appear intimidating and aggressive

-I feel like Virgo placements tend to have a lot of secret admirers… and I don’t have a why lol just a gut feeling (maybe it’s because of how they always seem on top of things, but this can make them kinda unapproachable for some people ? Idk)

-Are Sagittarius placements (especially in the big 6) usually late to appointments and dates or is it just me…

-Mercury square/opposition Jupiter could point to a lot of people thinking you never say enough/always say too much in convertation

-Venus square/opposition to Saturn may point to a lot of unrequited love interests, especially before the native is 25

-Is anything more double Capricorn (sun & moon) than both of your parents being cold, distant, and disappointing lol :0 (yeah I’m fine lol)

-Sagittarius placements make a joke out of everything lol, that’s why gen z jokes about death and depression so much lol Pluto in sag bby

-Aquarius can show where you tend to want really unique things (7th could want a really stand out partner to settle down with, 4th could aspire to have unique families dynamics, 11th could point to wanting unique friends, etc)

-My partner has Aquarius in 6th and he always wants a unique looking pet lol (Every time he sees a hairless cat or a dog with 3 legs he’s like let’s adopt them lol) -also totally didn’t expect it for a Virgo rising lol

-Your planets in 12th can show where things become murky and unclear (Mercury in 12th you make have trouble hearing and understanding the words people are saying, Mars in 12th you may have trouble understanding your anger/perceiving your intimate compatibility with people, Moon in 12th you may have difficulty with naming your emotions and understanding them and trouble knowing what you’re sensitive to, Venus in 12th could mean that you tend to unknowingly catch crushes and people have unrequited crushes on you, Sun in 12th really impacts your sense of self and how you perceive yourself.)

-Cancer placements in guys manifest as either their mother’s opinion meaning everything or like less than nothing I noticed (especially in dating, a cancer Venus/mars will either fall for someone because they’re just like their mother or bc they’re the complete opposite of their mother. It’s never accidental lol)

-Libra MC may be an advocate for social justice and could use any attention on them to further push these causes (turns out Malcolm X was a Libra MC, which is interesting bc he was so big on like standing up for the community and returning violence with justice).

-Another civil rights leader placement I noticed? Moon conjunct Venus (Martin Luther King Jr & Fred Hampton both had this, in water signs I think) which imo points to being emotionally invested in harmony and harmonious relationships.

- They also both had Taurus north node which made them empathetic and determined to be committed to advocating for peace but the Scorpio south node obviously made people (especially people in power) very vengeful towards them

the astrology of social media

feeling the urge to talk about the astrology of social media so. here we go

i will be talking about what i consider The Big 5: facebook, twitter, tumblr, instagram, and tiktok

facebook: launch date was feb 4, 2004, therefore making fb an aquarius sun, and if you want to debate launch time, it is either a cancer moon or leo moon. i lean towards believing it is a cancer moon, because it is heavily used towards communicating with family and old friends. also, considering that aquarius is ruled by saturn, and so is fb’s mercury in capricorn, it is considered a site that offers more networking opportunities for career. i also find it interesting that fb is considered a site for the older generations (saturn energy)

twitter: launch date was march 21, 2006, making twitter an aries sun with a sagittarius moon. twitter is known for it’s arguments and blunt honesty, which is easily from the fire energy of aries and sagittarius. people are not afraid to call people out on this social media in particular. twitter is also well known for being more about connecting with people foreign to you, which is sagittarius energy at work

tumblr: launch date was feb 19, 2007, making tumblr a pisces sun with either a pisces or aries moon. pisces sun makes everything feel more hidden, hence the amount of privacy that can exist here. pisces energy is also a big fan of escapism so fandom does really well here. the way people connect on here tends to be with strangers that they find things in common with, and the idea of mutuals is commonly romanticized, as are most things on tumblr (pisces loves romanticizing). i lean towards believing tumblr has an aries moon, because there is this tendency for people to take things very personally when it may have little to do with them

instagram: launch date was oct 6, 2010, making IG a libra sun with either a virgo or libra moon. libra is ruled by venus so there is definitely more of a concern for aesthetics on IG. it is also more superficial, arguments on IG tend to be more passive aggressive than anything else. libra energy also has a tendency to mirror things, such as incorporating videos after seeing vine do it, stories after seeing snapchat do it, and reels after seeing tiktok do it. i believe IG has a virgo moon, because of the need for things to appear perfect. people tend to interact there more with friends, acquaintances, or friendly strangers

tiktok: the release date of musically was sometime in september 2016, but i will be using the date of when they changed the name to TikTok since i feel like there is more significance to this date: august 2, 2018. this makes tiktok a leo sun with an aries moon. leo is ruled by the sun and often is popular and well known, as tiktok is currently and has been for the past 2 or 3 years. i believe that is why there is such a big rise of influencers on that app - it’s a good place to find an audience. i think the leo energy combined with aries energy is also why tiktok’s algorithm is so good at finding videos people will personally enjoy.

other interesting things i noticed:

the apps that are considered more popular for young people (im talking more about gen z and young millenials) to use are twitter and tiktok. these are respectively an aries sun and a leo sun, which are both considered more youthful energy since aries is the beginning of the zodiac and leo is also more towards the beginning.

instagram’s libra sun is more middle ground, it is used by various ages but i find it more popular with older gen z and millenials in general.

the websites that are considered old (or in tumblr’s case “dead”) are facebook and tumblr. both are at the very end of the zodiac as aquarius and pisces so this isn’t surprising. people on these websites tend to be a considered older as well, especially facebook.

the websites most well known for calling people out and being argumentative over practically anything all have aries/mars energy in some capacity: twitter’s aries sun and tumblr and tiktok’s aries moons.

twitter, tumblr, and tiktok also all have mercury in retrograde which could account for the amount of things taken out of context and the amount of misunderstandings that frequently occur.

snapchat is a cancer sun with a libra moon. cancer is more homebody energy and libra deals with friends and i have noticed people say that they mainly keep snapchat around to talk to old friends from high school. also the fact that snapchat is widely used for its memories section (very cancerian). snapchat is commonly used when you first meet someone and might want to be friends or to shamelessly flirt with someone (libra/venus energy)

ao3 is a scorpio sun with a scorpio moon. i feel like i don’t need to explain why this explains the way that people are secretive about ao3 and what they read on there. in contrast, wattpad is most likely a sagittarius sun, which is why it is more publically well-known and talked about (movies have been adapted from there after all)

Next, the Earth signs are Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn. Earth is the element of the physical realm, and It is all about being in the moment. Earth signs tend to be more materialistic and grounded than others. They are good with money and are practical people. 

Then comes the Air signs, which are Gemini, Libra, Aquarius. Air is the element of the mind and thought. It is creative, social, and intelligent. These signs are communication-oriented, gossip-prone, and logical. They are more emotionally detached and often spend time in their own heads.

Finally there are the water signs, Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces. Water is the element of the heart, and It is all about emotions and sensitivity. Water signs can be more spiritual than others. They feel things on a deeper level.

Signs are also categorized into Masculine and Feminine.

The Masculine signs are Libra, Gemini, Aquarius, Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius. These signs tend to get energy from the outside world, and they can be more assertive and intense than their feminine counterparts. 

The Feminine signs are Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces, Virgo, Taurus, and Capricorn. They tend to be more cautious and careful in their day to day lives, and they absorb energy rather than expel it. Feminine signs may be more in touch with their emotions than masculine signs.

When it comes to romance she is very much ‘Blank Space’ - Taylor Swift. She’s had two long-term relationships, and everyone else before and after was just light flirting and stringing along.

She sticks with her cousins mainly, and others who also suffer from a sense of responsibility rip.

She completed her studies in Elias (finished when she was 24) and then moved back to Ulstead, but she does take a trip to Elias at least once a year (or more if she has friends there hehe)

There’s a part of her that feels like there’s glass between her and the rest of her peers. She can’t be as free as anyone else (let’s be honest, she won’t let herself). She suffers from Kit’s old fear: who am I if not the next queen?

Ulstead is home. She loves her kingdom so much, and wants to be more likable, but it’s hard for her to break out of her ‘ice queen facade’ now. That’s what she’ll be working on over time rip.

She loves to horse-ride and is the only time she’ll let her hair fly free and get dirt on her clothes and all that :’))

Growing up as the princess should have been all glitter, sunshine, and roses. King Kit was beloved by all the people, and this extended to his children too — but kids at school had a different idea. Young Jacqui was raised to be kind and open-hearted, and her peers often took advantage of this. They agreed to be her project partner, only to make her do all the work. They  accepted birthday party invitations, only to ignore the princess and play with each other around the castle instead. Kit noticed this almost immediately and spoke with his daughter about it, and Jacqui’s little eyes went wide open. She didn’t want this to be forever, she wanted real friends. She wanted to learn how to say ‘no’.

Unfortunately … she may have taken it a little too far.

In high school, Jacqui built a reputation of being an ice queen ( HBIC !!! ). She became known as someone utterly ruthless. But Jacqui only saw it as her being fair and just. She never minced words, she never entertained people she felt were disingenuous — why should she? For the rest of high school and university, she was seen as a leader, but hardly seen as a friend. Not many people wanted to get to know her.  No matter, she had her family to keep her company. The Charmonts were all she needed. Her family were the only people who saw who really was, someone who was still compassionate and a little funny, and fiercely protective.

Now in her late 20s, she’s being given more royal responsibility. Unlike the fast track Kit was put on, he’s more careful with his eldest daughter, wanting to give her as much choice and time as possible. She still makes time for her interests, but Jacqui has been ready for a long time. She feels she’ll be a great queen ( if only she’ll let the warmth back into her heart ).
