people are discriminated against - sometimes violently - for their sex traits. but not in whatever fucked up and bigotted way radfems mean that. sex and gender are different things, despite people acting as otherwise.

and there is no set of privileged sex traits. it's all dependent on what traits an individual has/doesn't have, how they identify/express themselves, and how they're perceived. any one of those things being "off" can lead to discrimination in relation to sex traits.

so as a trans intersex person, i sincerely wish this is what "sex based discrimination" referred to. it's something anyone can experience, and it's not fucking fair the phrase is taken on by bigots pretending to be fighting for women's rights.

Femininity doesn't belong to women. Masculinity does not belong to men. Androgyny does not belong to nonbinary ppl. There are no "biological" traits of gender.

All of those things are in everyone.

And yes in a 'men wear skirts and nail polish and are feminine' way and yes in a 'women wear binders and boxers and are masculine' way. But also in a 'there are cis women with beards' and 'there are intersex men with ovaries' and 'some women are born with boobs and penises' and 'cis men can lactate' way.

Ovaries, penises, etc. Those things aren't tied to gender. None of it. Never has been. Diverse is just how humans are. Before hrt existed and before therapy, before bottom surgery: people who never fit the binary still existed.

Ppl who say there are only two sexes or to count chromosomes or that existing as one of two sexes is the only right way, are straight up denying the reality of actual human living people. The fact that they try to make it a moral goal to convince other people to deny reality too is just the cherry on top of this delusional sundae.

Because it is delusional. People like that are delusional and I think we should get comfortable saying it and even being mean about it. Now is not the time to be conservative in your progressive beliefs.

Trans people are breaking down the gender and sex binary on a daily basis. Our very existence challenges the system of male and female, man and woman. We cross the lines and say "no, females are not inherently like this, no, males are not inherently like that". We challenge the roles of gender and gender performance.

Trans people take gender and sex from the hands of the patriarchy and mold them into acts of joyful, rebellious expression. We break down the walls between what society says we should do, and what we know in our hearts we can be.

Some trans people obliterate sex and gender so completely they exist outside the binary itself. Some trans people are nonbinary, agender, bigender, or genderqueer (and more).

Even "binary" trans people destroy the patriarchy's concept of what a person can be, since the patriarchy insists thought and behavior are linked to birth sex. We prove they are not. We prove the differences between the sexes are not bold binaries but a spectrum of features - and those features are largely pick-and-choose, not predestined based on hormones.

For those who medically transition, we prove again that the differences between the sexes are not as rigid as the patriarchy would have you believe; there is not an uncrossable gulf between male and female, and many of the physical traits we are told "belong" to one sex or the other are easily switched by what hormones we have in our bodies.

There is an unbroken spectrum between male and female and beyond. There is an unbroken spectrum between man and woman and beyond. There is an unbroken spectrum between all sexualities. There is an unbroken spectrum between cis and trans!

Humanity does not exist in boxes! Identities overlap, mesh, and blend.

Nothing is defined. Nothing is concrete. There are no boxes, no lines, no hard rules.

If you want to destroy the gender and sex binary, you have to support trans people. We're on the cutting edge.
