If there are supposedly hordes of trans women sniffing out shy moody androgynous goth boys and turning them into extroverted freaky raver puppygirls explain why hasn't it happened to me yet. Am I not pretty enough

The way Azirphale is underestimated and practically infantalized by heaven is so closely tied to his femininity and I think we should talk about it more because I just want to shout about how relatable the way he's treated in his workplace is as a woman working in a traditionally male field
It's in all the little niggling comments from your boss about personal things that hold no bearing on your work
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and the assumption that what you're doing must be simple if it was assigned to you
Tumblr media Tumblr media
your work is trivialized
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and you get these the placating smiles when you're told plans and proposals are rejected and passed over
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
or when your complaints are dismissed
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and you get more of the same from upper management
Tumblr media Tumblr media
it all feels so frustrating and draining but you're at work so all you can do is take a breathe put on that mask and move on with your day
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It is all so deteimental to your emotional well being and textually, so much of this is tied to Aziraphale's softness, his gayness - his femininity
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The thing about working in an environment and gives you this feeling - of being simultaneously destrought watching your belief in yourself get chipped away but also just so irate becuase you know you don't deserve it - is how it builds. It sinks under your skin and feeds into this indignant dejection until you can have a moment of release - but Azirphale doesn't get to bitch about it over drinks with friends, he doesn't get a lunch break where he can go for a walk and listen to an angry scandi death metal playlist, he doesn't even get the chance to cry about it in the bathroom for 5 minutes before confronting it again
(And I talked a little bit about it in the tags of this beautiful photoset but this all comes into play whenever Crowley dismisses his plans or calls him an idiot. These are purely emotional reactions; I really don't think Crowley means much by it - he respects Aziraphale's opinion and genuinely thinks he's brilliant - but Crowley is so quick to use this terminology when Aziraphale is making a decision Crowley thinks is wrong and he doesn't know how much this hurts Aziraphale. Just like Aziraphale doesn't understand the true impact the Fall had on Crowley, Crowley doesn't understand the ways heaven has been tearing away at Aziraphale's self worth)
Aziraphale has been facing this constant drip of denigration since before the beginning of time and has never released the pressure valve. At this point, he's a bomb waiting to go off

Okay, but let's talk about Balam's hair for a hot second
(Yes, it may have become one of my fixations) You know, the guy not only cut it radically - and we know it's because of Iruma - he also let it grow back, and now he grooms it much better than before. Why? While my wishful thinking headcanon is that Kalego offered to brush it after they declared their feelings for each other (they are definitely introduced as best friends, but c'mon, look at them here)
Tumblr media
...I also recognize this is not canon, so it can't be the actual reason. So I was wondering: why this difference? IMO it signifies personal growth, but what caused it, if Iruma led to the haircut? And then it hit me. Meeting Iruma, again - but in a deeper way than I thought at first. According to Balam's own words, he decided to cut his hair to appear more approachable. But why not brush it and style it as he's doing now? Everything we know about Balam's past points to him being treated like a weirdo and marginalized, not only because he likes picture books, he was also hyperfixated with the existence of humans.
Tumblr media
This went on all his life, from bullies at school to his own students. He was likely wounded, full of self doubt and possibly shame, so he withdrew into himself, and his hair was messy because why bother if people avoid you anyway. So imagine finally having tangible proof that you were right all along. That's life changing, not only because of the discovery itself - it can make you reevaluate your whole story, and yourself. A radical cut was a logical thing to do, to break with the past. But why letting the hair grow back then? I speculate that Balam is most comfortable with long hair after all, and he feels more like himself this way (I mean, he had medium-to-long hair in all flashbacks). I like to think that his personal grooming is a metaphor for his newly found self confidence and self love: he can be himself to the fullest, he likes the demon he is, and he's not afraid of showing it to everyone else now, by making his hair prettier. He was right all along, and everybody else can shut it.
Tumblr media
Such a small detail in the grand scheme of things, yet enormous for the single character. I love this manga so much ♡

Self Portrait '23 10" x 8" Gouache
A loose still life of my packer and my man juice 🤠 The colors in the actual painting are way too vibrant for my camera to interpret correctly and despite painstakingly adjusting the colors in ps, every digital screen I've viewed the images on look significantly different so 😂hopefully it looks okay on everyone else's end. (This and CBT were both made for an art show about penises in case anyone is sensing a theme lol.)

When you're listening to the very first Bibi Blocksberg Hörspiel ever made ("Hexen gibt es doch" from 1980), and there's this exchange:
Narrator: "And only women can become witches. It's always been that way." Barbara Blocksberg: "And it's always going to stay that way, Boris." Boris Blocksberg: "But mom, if you magic me into a girl, then I could become a witch, right?" Barbara: "No Boris, then you'd only look like a girl. But your soul would be a boy, and you still couldn't do magic."
So here we have the very first Bibi Blocksberg episode ever, from 1980(!!!), explicitly making a difference between physical sex and "what gender your soul is", and clarifying that the latter is what matters for their "only women can do magic" rule.
WE STAN.

i’ve always found it peculiar how during meeting the chargers cutscene the game just assumes your character automatically understands what krem is talking about when he mentions binding (though, granted, it’s all very unsubtle). like, this is a roleplaying game. what if i want to play a character who just doesn’t get it
#dragon age#cremisius aclassi#inquisitor trevelyan#at least give me an in game explanation of why the inquisitor would Know this right away#it's not like transgenderism is a widely explored topic in da lore. the most you can find about it in inquisition specifically excluding#krem and seras countless transmisogynistic lines is one codex that mentions that some previous divine mightve been a trans woman#and the way it's written sucks ass. the infamous sex in thedas codex also mentions nothing on the topic of transness. so like#whats up with that#art stuff#before anyone says anything i fully realize how i look critiquing a bioware game that came out in 2014 on its faulty queer representation#please trust me i know. im just thinking out loud#ALSO. in case it isnt obvious. parsley transed they gender. the joke is that theyre a nonbinary femme now#its hard for me to show it through art because it would involve misgendering them but they dont actually start going by they/them pronouns#until after halamshiral. so like technically if i made them refer to themselves as he/him at any point before that it would be canonical but#its not like my art is chronological by any means and cannot be taken out of context by virtue of it existing as an individual post online#if someone were to reblog an art of them saying hi im a dude theyd go cool! hashtag male inquisitor. or something#the tragic case of sacrificing narrative in order to not get second hand discomfort at seeing parsley misgendered#ANYWAY..........

Could a Yoshi kill Macbeth?
Yes, the Yoshi(e)s from the Super Mario franchise could kill Macbeth!
Tumblr media
All Yoshi(e)s are shown to be capable of laying eggs, and while often these eggs are used for defensive, offensive, or supportive abilities, some of these eggs have been shown to hatch into Baby Yoshi(e)s, which qualifies the species for the Unconventional Birth Clause!
As for the other two clauses, the gender structure of the Yoshi species varies widely from source to source. For example, the Japanese description on Yoshi's trophy in Super Smash Bros. Melee explains that Yoshi(e)s are neither male nor female, while the Paper Mario games feature a Yoshi referring to "[his] son," and another referring to "[his] lovely wife." Even characters within the Smash Bros. series express confusion at Yoshi's egg-laying capabilities (namely Solid Snake and Viridi, who are corrected by Otacon and Palutena respectively), so this is clearly a topic of debate.
For now, we'll assume that all Yoshi(e)s are biologically genderless at birth, but that their culture has equivalents of males and females that an individual may choose from if they so please. In this version of the explanation, whether or not a Yoshi applies for the Gender Clause or Birth Parent Clause is still a case-by-case basis.
Thank you for your submission!

This idea for a later part in Four Swords Returns floats around in my head and I find it hilarious:
So you get to see it. X"D
Vaati (Still being lose) is completely enamored with the lovely princess Zelda, so he kidnaps her to be his bride.
Woops. He kidnapped Vio instead...However did that happen...
So Zelda dons the Vio persona and helps the other 4 (including Shadow Link) save the real Vio before he and Vaati are married.
Hilarity ensues.
