Summary: "We were at war and yet here you are sipping tea.”
The Knight and General clashed weaspons.
Neither wanted to back down.
This battle would determine the outcome of war.
“You asshole! It’s your people who invaded our lands.”
The General of the Right of Briar Valley shouted, the Knight of Dawn grunted against the force.
“I know! I wish for a world where fae and humans get along. I do not have the power to make it so!”
“You coward! You could! If you grew a spine!”
Fae and Human locked in battle, unaware of their surroundings.
“I can’t! I have people I have to protect!”
“So do I! But you don’t see me fall under the heel of a greedy asshole, do you!”
So entranced were the two in combat, they failed to hear the rattling of a carriage and the hooves of horses.
“You-”
By the time they noticed, it was too late.
The ominous carriage stood before them, stopping the battle.
The Knight and General are shocked.
“What the fu-”
The horse neighed. One would think it was smirking, before the carriage’s door opened and sucked the two in.
Humans and Faes alike watch in stunned silence as their leaders were stolen away.
“What do you mean we have to attend school?!”
The Chairman of NRC look at the two in front of him. He seemed rather used to this disruptive behavior.
“Exactly that. The carriage has picked you two up and now you have no choice but to attend.”
Lilia held himself back from throttling the person in front of him, before gesturing to the knight right next to him.
“I get why it chose me. But why him!”
“The Enbony Carriage is never wrong. Everyone who has been chosen has always had a place at NRC.”
Lilia whirled to the man right next to him, only to be surprised at the calculative look in his eyes.
The Knight of Dawn turned towards him; the smile he gave shocked Lilia.
“Do you think they’ll stop the war if their main commanders are missing?”
You’re kidding-
“You seem to be taking this hard.”
The Knight of Dawn picked up his cup as he glanced across the table.
His enemy, now turned classmate, huffed at him in irritation.
“You’re taking it too easy. We were at war and yet here you are sipping tea.”
“I think of it as a vacation.”
Lilia snorted in response.
“Besides, you told me yourself to make my own choice. This is my answer.”
“Your answer is running away?”
“No, strategically missing.”
The Knight of Dawn sharply looked at Lilia Vanrouge, “Tell me. Do you believe my people stand a chance without me? Without me leading, they have no choice but to retreat and pause this war.”
He was not wrong. Lilia knew this.
Without their strongest warrior, they would be nothing. He could see how such a move would be in all their favor. It just irked him to see the knight calmly sipping tea…in the same dorm.
“I can’t believe that stupid relic put you in Diasomnia.”
The clank of cup meeting plate was the only sound in the lounge for a while.
“…maybe this was the answer to my prayers. A sign that it is possible for our kind to get along.”
Lilia couldn’t deny that nor could he deny the knight’s placement in Diasomnia. For all his gripes, the Knight of Dawn had all the qualities of those under the Thorn Fairy.
“A vacation huh? Sounds nice. I can get away from the menaces at home.”
Lilia picked up his cooled tea, almost dropping it at the words that came out of the human’s mouth next.
“Yes. I can stay away from that brat. Let’s see him try to wage his war without me.”
The gleam in his eyes accompanied by the slight smirk stunned Lilia briefly.
Hmm. Maybe the Knight of Dawn did belong at NRC...and Diasomnia.
Lilia drank his tea, school didn’t sound so bad after all.
This was influenced by this art. I couldn’t help but think “What would happen if the carriage kidnapped them? What if they were forced to be students? What then?”
And this was the result 🤣💞🌺
I also love to give the knight these glimpses of the deviousness and straightforwardness we see in Silver.
The Knight might be forced to follow Henrik, but it doesn’t mean he doesn’t have thoughts about it. 😂💞🔥
I had a lot of fun writing this one 💞🌺💙🌻
