I think when Kaladin lashed himself face first into that wall he should’ve been flattened like flat Stanley and spent the rest of the series 2-dimensional. Just my opinion

I hate the term "generational curse" because it's never a fucking curse, it's just a taught/learned habit of poor decision making that can be quickly remedied by doing something slightly different. Y'all aren't cursed and to claim or process that you are... prolly ain't a good idea lol. You are maybe not where y'all feel you should be, maybe from a family line of unfortunate mistakes, but not at all cursed.

A generational curse is cast upon a family. The curse is carried for a few generations until it at last reaches and asexual only child

When to Cut the Cord
One of the most challenging aspects of breaking a generational cycle is knowing when to cut someone or something off--when to disconnect from them and guard your energy. How do I walk away from something that no longer serves me? Read on for first steps.
When breaking generational cycles, a phrase is often used to highlight the particular stage in which one cuts off several people who no longer serve their highest good: The Cutting of the Cord. Now this evokes some very visceral and severe imagery, and while my general praxis is to soften these phrases in a way that makes a beginner more able to move through this stage, the imagery is…

You can’t break generational curses. You can only hope to minimize the amount of trauma you cause because of them…

Hadid Family - Accountability in Parenting
(random thing I'm writing)
Delved into a few articles on the internet on how Bella and Gigi Hadid's father Mohamed Hadid was like during the 90s (Bella and Gigi were most likely around 5 and 3 at the time) and his other than exemplary father figure behaviour. The most damming fact wrote by the author was how it shaped the way Gigi and Bella's future relationship went on. On and off relationship of Gigi Hadid and Zayn (which they have a daughter together) and Bella's well publicised on and off relationship with The Weeknd. Both relationships heavily pushed on cheating and mistreatment, particularly to the woman. This was a common theme in Mohamed and Yolanda Hadid's marriage. The two started their fling with Mohamed cheating on his then wife Mary Butler, whom they share two daughters.
Mohamed was also known to have large drug and 'sex' parties in his LA mansion, where Gigi and Bella lived simultaneously. Another precursor to their future entanglement with drugs and partying.
Not here to shame any of these ADULT individuals. I'm not one to judge off a few posts on the internet. However, it presents a thing I find common, what happens to a child with a problematic guardian. Both parents are so important for a child, but in our society we always seem to put this pressure on women, and I believe that it's time to put men accountable as well. For anyone who gets weirdly uncomfortable when 'feminism' is brought up, please know I also take in consideration Yolanda's affair with a married Mohamed Hadid, but Yolanda can be a separate rant on its own.
Men play such as significant role as a 'giver' and also as something simple as just a husband and father. Capitalism has brought men to the idea that they only exist in a marriage as almost a financial collateral and not a parent and loved one. This in turn doesn't give them too much morality and empathy when caught up in cheating and partying prevalent in ANY business.
Kids are the main victim of this situation. In the Hadid family case, it was most likely how Gigi and Bella were used to seeing women treated in their household as a pretty lady and holder of a family, which leads to insecurity and lost of self.
The main takeaway is that parents are crucial for a child. Capitalism among other factors has made both men and women perpetuate the idea that a bank account rolling will fix generational curse, and in the era of 'hyper-individuality' this behaviour is further encouraged. Marriage and kids is not a 5 years plan. It's a commitment and a responsibility. Children see, children do. Be the example you want your kids to be and wear a condom.
Peace and free Palestine,
xx
don't send hate to any parties mentioned (esp Hadid sisters)

people who go through the main tags of big and tumultuous fandoms looking for new fresh good posts to reblog are essential to any circle. they’re like true hunter gatherers leaving the safety of settlement and braving the unknown wilderness to find food for the flock. they risk their lives every day and will come back with a few scratches at best and severe psychological damage at worst

I'll look back at what I did today and tap myself on the shoulder. I did great. I have broken the chains from my lineage. I have helped the souls of my ancestors finally rest in peace. I am the strongest, and I have provided.

hey why are the Van Helsings always the Vampire Hunting Family in modern Dracula stories. Abraham Van Helsing might be the guy who knows stuff but his family is off in the Netherlands and/or dead and totally uninvolved in the plot. Abraham's great-great grandson has no reason to be doing backflips and chopping off heads or whatever
You know who is a family who hates Dracula so so much and would totally teach their kids how to hunt vampires? The Harkers. Give me a modern vampire story where the protagonists are about to die when out pops Quincey Arthur John Lucy Abraham Murray Harker the Fifth, armed with a giant knife and an encyclopedic knowledge of train schedules

Confronting The Way It's Always Been
I once had someone who told me that you grow more scared of the world and of risk as you get older, I had someone else tell me that my entire worth hinged on my value and utility to others. Both were incorrect.
Daily writing promptWrite a letter to your 100-year-old self.View all responses                 It is never a comforting thing to learn that the “thing that just happens sometimes and always has” is not, in fact, normal or healthy. That way things have always been is not the best or most productive way for you to live. It can be difficult, facing down what you’ve always feared. I am not okay. I…

Overcoming Generational Curses Coming Soon
…For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, 10 but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments(Deuteronomy 5:9-10, NKJV). https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Deuteronomy+5%3A9-10&version=NKJV Every family has skeletons in their closets, those…
