The dark swamp was beyond sight, the girls with heavy crosses around their necks, mumbled a sad eulogy, their palms soaked with dried blood belonging to the goats.

The swamp was bubbling under, but the girls, as if possessed by a demon, walking in groups toward the depths of the water, until they disappeared at the end of the darkness.

Will watched all this on the distant plain, and could not stand by.In this terrifying scene instinctively, he runs desperately toward their part. He needs to save these children, these innocent and frightened by supposed myths, supposed nonexistent evil creatures.

He shuttled through one muddy slope after another, and the mysterious swamp and time race, but until he missed the last girl, he can only hear the girl's last sad murmur.

Will then realized that the familiar voice, which he had failed to catch, was his only daughter, Jo.

He touched the little girl's hair, the other hand slapping where she wanted .

Jo's cheeks and nose tips were red, and at what Will said, she even sobbed.

I found this movie,through a ridiculous meme on tik tok and decided to watch it with a friend of mine,thinking we were in for a bad movie night.A movie so bad it would be good enough for us to laugh our asses off.Well..

"Little Ashes" is a movie dedicated to the nature of the questionable yet intimate relationship of Salvador Dalί and Frederico Garcia Lorca.While a lot of it's dialogue and interractions of these two might be fictional,all major events shown were mentioned by Salvador himself,as well as confessed in a lot of rather intense letters that were being sent to one another,even after a long time in which they had parted.It has been heavily speculated that some of Salvadore's artwork has Garcia in it in some form, as Lorca himself gave the title "Little Ashes" to one of them.

The acting in this movie is quite enjoyable and I truly was suprised of Robert Pattinson's portayal of Dalί,though not my favorite it was quite intruiging seeing him in such a role.The scenery and queer dark academia essence of the whole thing was quite pleasant as it shows a lot of their academic years when they first met and the majority of their relationship took place.I imagine the movie did not have a really big budget either ,or at least was not significantly backed,as the topic chosen was quite controversial even in 2008.Even so,the end result was really,really enjoyable.

I also was very fond of the variety of topics that it talked about, such as dwelving into the connections one makes while making it big in the artist circle and how that might result in complete perversion of ideals in order for one to reach the top.It is no secret what kind of character Dalί was and the movie highlights that.Or the topic of love as a powerful force,primary drive for art.Not to forget,the revolution and the spirit of freedom,the longing for it,as Lorca was heavily involved in the Spanish revolution as an openly gay man himself.

Needless to say both me and my friend where very much suprised and talked about it for a few days after.After watching the movie I recommend reading the article"The Secret Love Between Salvador Dali and Federico Garcia Lorca" published in Community of Lights as it goes in great depth about the two and has some addintional really interesting information about the aftermath of the ending of the movie.
