but once u actually took what felt like hours to process that u might actually be in fucking Genshin Impact-

Nahida came running from, somewhere?? Its kinda just very floaty dreamy in here so, unclear, she’s beaming with a giddy little smile (💘)

It’s… so much more than what her game model could manage.

I mean, you knew that, of course you did, but- to see the tiny goddess smiling in person, her cute chubby arms waving in the air, her cheeks all plump with baby fat from her excited smile, pretty green eyes that sparkle only in the way excited toddlers do-

It was just…wow. 🥺

You can’t help it, her sheer carefree excitement, exactly like a child but you know that she must be really overwhelmed with joy if shes letting herself act like that so blatantly, you feel ur muscles tug gently into a smile, you try to muffle it but ur happiness leaks out anyway

She's panting as she stumbles on short chubby legs to reach you.

After just staring at you with those big green clover eyes for a few seconds, she physically shakes her head to knock herself out of it,

Nahida places her hand over her heart, and bows elegantly, going back to looking at you with a small but bright smile, her voice is kind of quiet, muffled in a soft way, much like her game depiction,

…Nahida begins to look a little concerned… her eyes get impossibly bigger.

Nahida had apparently quickly spread the news that you can’t understand them, but luckily it seems like all the characters still know you!

Alhaitham is pretty much a constant by your side, you knew he was vaguely studying linguistics in the akademiya… but that knowledge still didn’t prepare you to be intensely stared at with his diamond pupils for hours. 💀

Then he’d tap your shoulder or something, and you quickly picked up that he wanted you to just try and say something.

Then he would scribble for hours.

Turns out they can understand you about as much as you understand Teyvat language (s? You can’t even tell if there are multiple languages, that’s how unrecognizable this language is, damn)

The more extroverted or friendly people, like Venti, Yoimiya, Kazuha, Jean, Noelle, Amber, Xingqiu, Hu Tao, Zhongli, Ganyu, Barbara, Beidou, Collei, Ayaka, Gorou, Nilou

At least attempt to talk to you, and try very hard to watch what you gesture with your hands or body language

They're pretty much ready to play charades at all times for you lol

Interestingly enough, they only ever understood you when you typed in the chat (with other ppl)

But even then not immediately, 

Sumeru scholars basically had to make a whole new department (regardless of how much you play with others) to decipher your ancient language (to them) like those old clay tablets with cuneiform we’re still translating?

Like that, your words appear in elemental magic heavy places (so like that abyss lang. It’ll appear on walls or structures, so like Andrius’ stone colosseum? in Wolvendom gained some of your chat replies inscribed and glowing a rainbow of colors on the top edges of the walls)

Much like the abyss language you see throughout genshin, most Teyvat scholars (across nations/internationally) agreed your language is the oldest form of language known!

It’s like modern languages having roots in older ones, like English with Latin, greek, or German roots, or Sanskrit and the Prakrit for Hindi language today

…so of course no one really speaks the root languages anymore, because they’re so old, so those ancestors who spoke those languages would have little to no understanding of their modern counterparts…

Occasionally if you turned your mic on for whatever reason there would be a gentle whisper on the winds in Mondstadt of your voice,

or your laugh in the waves washing ashore in Inazuma and Fontaine,

your startled noises or screams from battling bosses mixed with the landslides in the mountains of Liyue

So they know what you sound like, but that doesn’t mean they understood your language :/

Nahida had been hoping that you’re actual physical form being here would help improve the language barrier

But unfortunately, those things remained the same, but at least you were physically here to talk to now and give more content for the scholars to study rather than them having to make do with your snippets of language from chats

…so needless to say, it took you a long time to realize they viewed you as a god of sorts.

You kind of knew something was up when at least two allogenes were by your sides at all times, or eremites would replace them if they really couldn’t stick around

You figured they knew you weren’t nearly as combatant-ready as they were at all times, hell you obviously didn’t have a vision hanging off you somewhere, and you only really had a knife strapped to a belt, courtesy of the Thirty Corps

You are still kind of convinced that the people of Teyvat, or Sumeru at least, are just pretty polite (and in the allogenes case, very kind or friendly, even people like Alhaitham or Cyno, resting bitch faces they have, seem to soften a little when they’re walking around with you… maybe you’re just imagining it…)

And as much as you would love to wait until they understand you to do something more fun, as you can see the frustration on Tighnari’s face (and his ears try to flatten back hehe) as he looked like he was debating heatedly with some of the Sumeru sages who insist you stay in the city

…so why not go?

It’s not like they’re going to get it anytime soon, and it’s still too frustrating for yourself to charade things or draw things for them because you can’t even hear their guesses 💀

You can totally handle being like the traveler too, 

You still have access to your inventory afterall! Plus, lucky for you, you still find a pass for the Serenitea Pot in your little pocket dimension!

So now you have somewhere to sleep at night, and while most of your stuff went to the traveler’s pack, the things like Primogems

(which.. Okay now you really want primogems bc theyre so pretty and shiny irl)✨️

And other high-level things, or just objects of no use for the traveler (so basically all your hoarded level up stuff and infinite amount of weapons lol) came along with you

So you did have to wander the first week or so around the city and even commission the Adventurer’s Guild to grab you food supplies to cook with

Filling up, along with a few big waterskins, you’re off!

...and everyone collectively has a heart attack!

When you show up in Ghandaraville essentially all “✨️💖☺️✨️” on Tighnari’s doorstep-

He chokes on the tea he’d been sipping on before he opened the door lol

He looks a little frazzled so you try to just gesture with “calm yourself small animal” energy with your hands

“Tivzgvhg Oliw! R'n- R- sld wrw blf-?! Mvevinrmw, xlnv rm, xlnv rm, ivhg! ...R mvvw gl hvmw z nroorlm ovggvih mld gl ylgs gsv vmgriv xrgb lu Hfnvif, gsv Zxgrmt Tizmw Hztv, zmw gsv Nzgiz nlhg orpvob…” he began out looking at you and talking and gesturing to his small dining table (the game sucks, his house looks great and has lots of cool rooms filled with interesting plants… oooo…so pretty...) 

But then he kinda just devolved into rambling, no need to understand, you can read the vibes and just know that's what he's doing lol

Collei eventually ducks in, and she looks a little panicked?

She’s quickly followed by Cyno, pushing past her to call out into the house,

His voice seems hard and stressed, looking at Tighnari, “Grtsmzir, szev blf hvvm gsv Tivzgvhg Oliw zmbdsviv, gsvb dviv hvvm xlnrmt gl Tszmwziezeroov ozhg-” 

Cyno stops and blinks.

Collei’s mouth is slightly dropped open, she also just, blinks.

You blink. 

Tighnari blinks tiredly, he looks like he’d rather be done for the day, you think.

The doctor sighs, and moves his head to nod towards the other dining seats.

Sumeru foods are so much better looking in real life, and they’re so good too, your practically bloated by the end of dinner, 

As a thank you, bc u cant say it obv, you just gesture for Tighnari to stay sitting, and he gives you a raised eyebrow and a suspicious ear twitch

But stays still, and you reach out to finally hit the eight-pointed star hovering over his, and all playable characters chests at all times.

Like you suspected, it brings up a holographic character menu, but rather than his full model, it kind of hovers in front of Tighnari’s face, replacing his old 3D model self with framing the real thing for a portrait just in front of his face

The poor Denro user nearly jumps a foot out of his chair as he looks in shock at your screen, you do the same “chillll boy” gesture with your hands and press his shoulders for a second to remind him to not run off or panic

Cyno and Collei had done the dishes and put up leftovers, and are now standing behind Tighnari, watching with equally wide eyes,

“...Dszg ziv gsvb wlrmt gl blf?

Cyno’s voice is even deeper and quieter than usual, you feel goosebumps run up your spine

“Ziv blf tvggrmt yovhhvw, Nzhgvi Grtsmzir?!” Collei’s sweet voice is also hushed like she’s witnessing something sacred, Tighnari gently shakes his head negatively in response, his shoulders shrugging,

“Nzbyv? R uvvo... z orggov hgilmtvi, zmw nb Erhrlm rh zxgrmt fk zh dvoo…”

Though he’s replying, Tighnari’s eyes haven’t once left your ancient magic? technology device? hovering in front of him,

and as he crosses his arms and squints to try and look closer at everything floating in front of him, you can see the childlike gleam of awe in his green eyes, (so cute) in fact, now that you glance up and look, both Collei and Cyno have the same quietly excited and fascinated sparkle in their eyes too

With a displeased sneer, you chuck his old level one bow into the material grinding spots, hope he wasn’t attached to that…

Oh well, he’ll like the new one better, afterall, with no characters, all your best weapons and artifacts are ready to use!

With a small smile of reassurance, you finally finish gearing Tighnari up, tap a miniature version of that 8-point star in the corner like an “X” button, and it retreats like a classic TV set📺 turning off into his chest, he startles but then carefully stands

You decide to just start making decisions bc its worked out so far ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

And grab his hand and haul him out into the forest, Collei letting out a surprised squeak, her and Cyno hurrying after

You reach the nearest clearing, and gesture at Tighnari like a bow and arrow firing, he gets it, and your glad he already trusts you, because he doesn’t take long to summon his bow

He takes aim at a smaller tree about two cars length away

You can feel them all holding their breathe, as Tighnari charges it with Dendro, the arrowhead glowing, (it looks so cool and badass irl god you feel envious even tho ur already here-)

The ranger lets it fly, it streaks neon green, whistling through the air, it hits the tree-

and it fucking explodes.

Vines and leaves and the trees roots all rapidly swell like theyre filled with water, like it literally got hit by a superhero with plant powers, which, not that far off actually.

The green floating Dendro seeds make a ring around the tree its so full of elemental energy-

You give a wild grin, you still got it, hell yeah. >:)

Your grin widens as you look over at Tighnari, Collei, and Cyno

Cyno has a smirk lighting up his face, eyes eager, Collei’s jaw has dropped and she’s just frozen staring as the tree finally settles from the burst of the dendro powered arrow

…Tighnari has lowered his bow, and his mouth is only slightly open, his ears perked straight up into the air, shaking with excitement? Happiness? Interest? You don’t know how peopl-animal-hybrid ears work,

and you STILL cant talk to any of them to ask what they thought, so looks will have to do >:/

Tighnari is the first to move, his head snapping over to look at you, the brightest, kinda feral tbh, smile taking over his face-

“Blf pmld, dv xzm'g fmwvihgzmw blf, zmw blf fh, bvg R xzm'g dzrg gl hvv dszg rm gsv dliow blf'iv tlrmt gl wl mvcg. Blf'iv znzarmt."

Alhaitham was literally running around Sumeru City trying to find you when you left, tho you did try and leave a translatable-in-3-to-5-business days-note, he didn’t have time to translate that because you were gone.

Or worse, lost in the city, and he would never forgive himself if he lost you, esp as Acting Grand Sage-

Kaveh got a letter a day and a half later from Tighnari letting them know you were having a sleepover in Ghandarvaville lol

Kaveh also had to hunt down Alhaitham to give him said news, then force his roommate to go sit or lay down for the rest of the day to recover lmao

A cold wind blew over the lands of Liyue, the creator has blessed the ancient lands with their presence, being bombarded with the lavish gifts of forgiveness of the people of Liyue by your feet, as you sat at a public throne.

Your eyes held nothing but resentment and no remorse for those who ask for your blessings, even if they bring a sickly child by your feet, begging and crying for a single blessing for you to heal this sickly child placed on your feet.

You merely spare the family a glance, before staring at your acolyte, Zhongli stared at you with concern, unsure of the thoughts racing through your head.

You made your decision when you had shooed the family, a shocked look on their faces as the hold on their poor kid faltered, almost dropping the frail boy. You could merely scoff as the mother handed the kid to her husband as she ran to your feet, wailing.

“Your grace, please punish me for any wrong-doing my family has done, but please! Heal my boy! He’s done nothing wrong, he’s nothing but a boy!” The mother wailed into your robes.

You felt your face morph into disgust, your eyes swelling in anger, tears starting to form from annoyance and anger. “Don’t pity yourself under my feet, lady.” You spat, pushing the mother with your feet.

The crowds that came to revel in their creator’s stared in disbelief and silent horror as the lady sobbed loudly on your podium, and their god, you, doing nothing to comfort or even give a slice of remorse to the pitiful lady by your feet.

After a few minutes of your unrelenting emotionless gaze on her and her unstopping sobs as her husband held their boy from afar helplessly, the lady raised her head to look at you.

An anger in her eyes, betrayal, anguish met your cold, frozen eyes.

“You’re no god, you’re not our creator, you’re just a mere copy..” the lady whispered spitefully, looking at you with nothing but hatred for your embodiment.

For once, in a long time, you laughed, a smile on your face, not of happiness, but of mockery, a scoffing, bashful smile.

“I’m no god? I’m a mere, copy?” You scoffed at the lady, your eyebrows raised in a mocking way, you stood from your throne, even after being able to sit on the golden seat, it still felt like it stung you, like silver does to a vampire.

It burned and stung, but it did nothing but fuel you even more. “Is this what has come of my empire? Of my beloved world?” You asked, walking slowly up to the lady who gravelled and clutched the hot concrete under her palms.

“If I had known my own children would dictate who I am, I would’ve destroyed this world to bits.” You threw that sentence out recklessly, seeing your acolytes stiffen quickly from your peripheral vision. You couldn’t help but grin at their uncomfortable faces.

“You, a mere lady, who lives on nothing but scraps, gets to tell me, a creator, a celestial being, who I am?” You snarled, your spear appearing to intimidate those who dare to anger you so.

“You’ve got some nerve, you all do!” You pointed to the crowds, who flinched and screamed in fear as you pointed with your spear, the metal shining against the sun.

Your acolytes could only wish that the sun could’ve given you it’s golden rays in a better situation, seeing as you flowed with unrelenting bravery and anger.

“I had to harm myself, to cut my flesh and show my blood, so that I wouldn’t die in this mortal form!” You screamed into the crowd, no longer holding the annoyance and disgust you held for this world.

“If I were a mere mortal with my face, you would’ve called them an imposter, burn them at the stake, like you’ve done with me!” Zhongli could only watch helplessly as your struck fear into his people, unable to stop you, for his loyalty refuses to let him move.

“You’re no people of mine, this world is obsessed with the idea of me, not my being as your creator!” The lady no longer glared at your with angry, but with disdain and anxiousness.

“I refuse to be dictated and be a holy grail for this shitty fucking world. Your people don’t deserve to be blessed with my presence nor my help.” Zhongli’s eyes could only widen, glancing at Ningguang, who was hyperventilating, watching you as you threw your spear away, it dissipating into particles.

“so suffer, suffer as I have, hope that there’s another god who’ll give you the forgiveness I will never give you.” You scoffed, you looked at the father who held his son with a life-threading grip.

Looking at you, his eyes holding a flickering flame of hope, that under all your anger, you would find the kindness to give them the mercy they’re desperately grasping at.

But you merely turned away from him, watching from your peripheral vision as the flame in his eyes extinguished, before his eyes filled, refusing to look away from your retreating figure.

“Zhongli, I want to end my appearance here and now.” You refused to look at the archon that stood by your throne as you walked past. Soon after a while, you had walked into the Liyue palace doors, finally out of public eye.

That is when Zhongli finally moves. Although being the most powerful archon, his knees buckled like that of a weak mortal, the pain and fear of his people weighing down his back.

But how can he save them? not when he knows he’s one of the many people who’s fueled this despicable behaviour in their god.

Their god who was so reverent and kind, only corrupted by it’s own creation.

Some playable characters were scared, of you and what you can do if they were to make you upset.

What if you got bored of playing everyday? What if you get bored of them and decide to delete them and only them?

They won't be remembered. No one will honour their death. They will be gone in an instant, and forever.

Npcs however, theyre not sentient, therefore they dont remember anything.

But they are worried about others. İs that a vision holder thing? Why are most of them upset?

Yoimiya's father tries to cheer her up by giving her a special order by him, but she wasnt feeling up to it at these days. Give her a few days, she will catch up with her work soon, profably.

Qiqi didn't remember anything but she felt scared when she was at the dark, she needs to hold Baizu's hand while sleeping now.

Nilou stoped doing dances on your name, in fear that she might do or say something wrong and she might be deleted. Her menager is worried about her, as she was starting to get popular with those dances in particular, why sudden fear for wrath from you?

Knights of favonious now have a Church day to give offerings to you and barbatos, so that you will feel more at esse and less angry.

Speaking of gods..

Venti is dissapointed in you. How dare you kill those innocent people? Even though no one seems to remember you still had no right doing that!

Ei is scared. She swore on eternity, the unchanging and unwielding truth, but didn't knew it would be so easily destroyer in your hands. She doesn't want to live through something like that ever again. She has to be stronger. Than maybe, maybe you will at least be willing to listen to her.

Zhongli's wiew of you didn't change. He knew you were strong and can delete everything with a click of a finger. He was more concerned on why? Did something happen in your world? İs it something they did? He will make sure to ask when you visit Tevat personally.

Nahida is a baby god. She feels betrayed. She always thought of you as the only truth in this world of lies. The world that doesnt even exist in people thought it is. Why would you?! She tought you loved this world? What changed? Why did you downloaded it again now? Why are you playing with their feelings?

you might be asking.. why did they ask that? why on earth would they ask you such question? why were they asking you questions?

like? 🤨

well.. that’s because you had a mini qna during xiao’s stream!!

did xiao mind at all? nope! he didn’t mind at all <3 if anything, he would be learning more about you(as if he doesn’t know everything about you..)

during one of xiaos stream, one person donated to xiao with a message which they said “does y/n like cats?” which you immediately say yes to!!

since then you started to answer more and more questions from xiao’s viewers and most of them(you’ve got to say) were pretty nice questions

questions that you’ve never heard before but did you care? absolutely not as you loved answering their questions.

xiao on the other hand.. minded.

every time someone would ask you questions that seemed kinda of weird or creepy to xiao he would eye them(?? eye who?? who’s them?? im kidding, ... xiao would eye the screen)

xiao would fight the urge to literally ban the person who asked that question AND OR stop the mini qna but you seemed so happy answering their and everyone(s) question so xiao obviously stopped his urges ;(

and so the mini qna went.. many questions such as “what is your favourite animal” and “your fav colour?” was asked a lot and many uhm.. questionable questions were being asked too.

“what’s your feet size?” and more which i will not be adding.

you felt extremely uncomfortable when people would ask you questions that were just creepy over all, so when you told xiao about it, he immediately blocked the user and told E.V.E.R.Y.O.N.E to not ask you those type of questions and did his word get into the people’s head? yes!

most of the questions they gave you were pretty simple, you always ended up saying “yes” to many of them.

you practically said “yes” so many times that you’ve kind of.. counted how many times you’ve said “yes”

“do you enjoy going to hotels?” “yes!! i do actually.” *xiao: WRITE THAT DOWN WRITE THAT DOWN!!!!!*

and then suddenly.. “do you have a boyfriend” and now you didn’t really concentrate on what you said and since you’ve said “yes” so many times you accidentally responded with “yes” and oh my god.

the ruckus you’ve caused after saying that...

xiao WAS paying attention and DID hear what you said so when you said “yes” xiao full on whipped his head to your direction and poor baby.. his face said it all..

xiao was like “HUH?! BOYFRIEND?!” in his head, you never told him that you had a boyfriend!!

now he’s upset, really, upset.

and yes, he’s upset because 1, you didn’t tell him and 2, you have a boyfriend!! :(

everyone in chat was shocked, they were all spamming “OH MY GOD???”s and “Y/N HAS A BF????”s

and in all honesty, why did you even say yes?

you did have a crush on a special someone... and as a matter of fact, you were crushing hard.

crushing on who? can you guess who? 3..2..1..!!

xiao!! you had a crush on xiao himself! the very one who’s in your room, looking at you in defeat.. anyways..

lets cut to the chase.

after you and xiao staying silent and the chat wildling, xiao finally spoke up and what he said startled you a bit

you’re absolutely flustered, your face and ears are just red

xiao and everyone(in chat) could tell that you were embarrassed which made them even more curious and wanting to know WHO the lucky man was

after some silence you decided to grab your phone and when you were unlocking your phone xiao asked “what are you doing?” which you responded with “calling my boyfriend, you wanted to know right?” “..”

you wanted to tease xiao because.. you wanted to see his cute flustered face, but if xiao had no reaction at all then.. that would be embarrassing..

so you decided to call him!! as a.. prank? (i guess you could say that)

xiao was blushing - blushing a lot. sure he “knew” you had a boyfriend as you said “yes” to the question but he didn’t expect you to actually call them.

he was waiting for you to say “JUST KIDDING!!” or “IT’S A PRANK!!!! >:)” but those words never came and so now xiao’s just anxiously waiting for you to call the person without trying to look like he’s constipated or nervous.

 a few minutes pass by and you’re still not calling them, weird isn’t it?

it’s totally not like you’re nervous to press “call” to a special someone(xiao) or anything, right?

right...?

you wanted to do this, so why are you struggling to press the “call” button? were you nervous? scared? too embarrassed? you’re feeling all of them right now.

taking in a few deep breaths you decided to just do it, you wanted to see his reaction after all.

“beep” you closed your eyes waiting for xiao to say something but you hear nothing except for a distinct sound coming from right in front of you

you expected to hear a ringtone that everyone would use but instead you hear a song instead. it was a very.. romantic song...

you open your eyes and just stare at a very flustered xiao who is trying to silence his phone but is failing terribly

but before you could laugh or do anything - xiao suddenly stops his attempt on closing his phone and just pauses for a second before he turns to look at you, he stares at you with wide eyes

“why are you looking at me?” “did you just.. call me? “.. what?”

you both are now just blushing profusely and avoiding eye contact as much as possible

everyone in chat was just going crazy or was just simply in shock.

“ahem, i did uh.. call you xiao.” *chat: SO CALL OUT MY NAMEEEEEE* “... i know you did, you said you were going to call your boyfriend, right?” “correct!”

(why did you say that so happily.)

you gave xiao a small smile while trying to suppress the urge to go cover yourself with tons and tons of blankets.

xiao on the other hand.. wasn’t so happy, not in a bad way of course!!

he was shocked, it was a joke and he knew but the thought of him being your boyfriend just makes him feel all jelly like and flustered.

you prevent a laugh from coming out of your mouth but ultimately fail - you burst out laughing while patting xiao on the back - spilling out many “im sorry xiao!!” and “you should’ve seen your reaction!!” but many of those were always cut from your continuous laughter.

xiao no longer cares about what just happens but rather your laughter, god you were so cute. your laugh too!

while xiao still does care about what happened, he doesn’t really mind it now as long as you’re happy <3

(except for the fact that everyone in his chat/comment keeps on making fun of him for looking like he was constipated or his reaction over all)

dain was just talking with his viewers, asking them questions and asking if they were doing fine, if they did anything fun and stuff like that

when all of the sudden someone asked if you loved to eat choco pops which you replied “yes! i do, they’re so yummy..” because they were delicious and you couldn’t just leave the person who asked the question hanging!

*dain in his mind: y/n likes choco pops? i might as well buy thousands of them by tomorrow.*

and soon after everyone started to flood dain’s chat with questions that were directed to you because why not?

although you wanted to answer them all you couldn’t, there were just too many questions!! the chat was just going WILD

they were eager for you to answer their question!! you skimmed and scanned the chat but you could only make out some of the questions - the rest were blurred by the continuous bombarding of questions.

you sigh as you get ready to try to answer all of these questions

“atrialopdo donated $3! : do you enjoy shopping?” “yes i do”

“jumpeylap donated $10 : do you enjoy dain’s presence? do you like to hang out with dain, i mean.” “of course i do!! why wouldn’t i? dain’s the best to hang out with!! i enjoy being around dain and he’s just the absolute best and....”

honestly, you kept on talking and talking about dain that dain’s mind just goes blank, he can’t even hear what you’re saying!!

“dainnn? dain! DAIN HELLO?! >:(” “ah! huh? what-” “see? he’s alright guys” “...” “yea! he’s just being quiet right now, i think he’s getting shy just by me talking about him”

you continued to talk while dain was blushing a whole lot.. yea..

BUT ANYWAYS

someone finally asked if you “had a crush” and all of the sudden you said ‘yes’

to be frank, you’ve said the word ‘yes’ or ‘yup’ too many times so...

you were caught off guard with that question which prompted you to answer with “yes”

so it’s not your fault. definenetly not your fault!!

after a few seconds you finally realized what you said but didn’t say anything, but dain? oh boy, when he heard your response he full on whipped his head towards you.

dain had a “did i hear that correctly??” type of face, he looked so confused yet nervous-

you had to hold back your laughter because dain’s face was just too hilarious, how could you not laugh?

(!??!?!?!?)

you just sat there, looking back and fourth between dain and the chat

dain’s just staring at you with wide eyes, unable to comprehend what you said EVEN though he knew exactly what you said

it was just hard for him to take in kay?!

eventually, dain snapped back to reality and cleared his throat.

“so, who’s.. this man of yours?” “glad you asked! i’ll call him right now!” “dain: 😨”

now dain’s scared fr

dain gets even more scared the more you talk about your boyfriend

dain’s still staring at you, looking at your phone and right back at you, waiting for you to press down on your phone and waiting for the sound of ringing.

you bite your lower lip not knowing if you should do this or not but you decide to just go for it because.. you need to get his reaction.

his reaction will 100% be worth it!!

you press the “call” button and dain suddenly feels and hears a buzz

it came from his pocket, dain just stares at his pocket and grabs his phone, looking at it he sees that you’re calling.. HIM?

while your awkwardly smiling, dain is dying.

everyone in chat was freaking out because they thought this was for real and that this thing was set up to reveal that you and dain were actually dating!!

dain is just slowly melting away, his poor heart ;(

it was just a mess over all.

WHAT DID ZHONGLI DO TO DESERVE THIS!!

zhongli was talking to his viewers and talking to you too(of course), zhongli spoke about many things: weird facts about animals, weird facts about the human body, and surprisingly, how to be financially stable!!

(as if he is LMAO)

and it was over all fun!! many of zhongli’s viewers also chimed in there and then to tell some facts too, it was just amazing to talk to everyone.

during one of zhongli’s “lesson of the day” speech, a sudden notification popped out of nowhere, it was a question if you liked cats or dogs more and why.

although the question came out of nowhere you were quick to answer it so zhongli could go on with his speech but it just seemed like more and more people decided to ask you more questions too, you didn’t mind of course. but you felt bad for zhongli as he’s just sitting there, waiting for everyone to quiet down so he could finish what he was saying but it just never happens :(

“do you prefer chocolate over strawberry?” “are you allergic to anything?” “what’s your favourite place to go to and why?”

you answered all their questions but occasionally looked back to zhongli to see if he was feeling down or anything but to your surprise, he didn’t look all that sad!!

instead he was actually enjoying you answering all their questions.

“is there something wrong y/n?” “ah-! no, nothing’s wrong..” “hm, if you say so.”

after answering many questions you were starting to get bored, all you were doing were answering questions, with the same answer over and over again.

“yes” “no” “mmm maybe?” “yes” “i think yes”

how many times did you say “yes”? you were unsure, but all you knew was that you must’ve said “yes” TOO many times that you answered “yes” to the next question that would put you into the situation you’re in right now.

now, what was the question you accidentally answered “yes” to?

“do you have a significant other, y/n?”. yes. that question.

WHY THAT QUESTION  (T⌓T) AND YOU EVEN ANSWERED YES...

when i tell you zhongli full on turned his head like a 90° angle.. i mean it, zhongli turned his head to face you so quickly. it was kind of scary to witness

“ah- you guys- i-” “you have a lover?” poor zhongli, he had a full on heart attack when he heard you.

your face is extremely red from embarrassment, but why? why would you be embarrassed? that’s because you have a little crush~  ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

a crush on who? zhongli! that’s right, the very man who’s right in front of you!

just the thought of actually dating him makes your heart go into a frenzy. you’ve been crushing on him since forever, so him being your boyfriend? oh god.. BUT! another thing that made you red from embarrassment was also because the thought of zhongli being jealous? what a dream!

zhongli isn’t the type to be jealous but your imagination is going wild(rn) so it’s hard to not think about it

the possibility of him ACTUALLY being jealous makes you weak to your knees, like him? looking dead in the eyes of another person? or maybe.. him just mad at the thought of him not confessing earlier and now his chance is gone?

zhongli keeps on bombarding you with questions, “what’s their name?” “when did you start to date them?” “are they (even) GOOD looking?” “are they able to provide you with EVERYTHING?”

you’re caught off guard with all the questions and your face reddens even more, you stutter while trying to get a response out of our mouth

“ah- uhm, o-of course! just give me.. a minute” you take out your phone before scrolling through your contacts, and honestly, you didn’t know who to call but in the end you chose zhongli because.. you just wanted to get this over and done with. you click “call” and wait for “him” to respond.

you hold your phone in your hand while looking at your phone and at zhongli anxiously, suddenly, zhongli feels something buzzing in his pocket - it’s his phone.

maybe this was a coincidence? zhongli spares a glance at you, seeing your very red face, he observes you before reaching in his pocket and pulling out his phone and TO HIS AND EVERYONE SURPRISE.. you called him!!

was this some prank? did you accidentally misclick or something?

“y/n- i think you misclicked..” he says while showing and pointing at his phone

you stare blankly at zhongli while trying to think of an answer, but you are unable to.

you stare at zhongli, not knowing what to do before laughing nervously and saying that it was a joke WHICH, you could see zhongli’s shoulder slowly falling down(he’s relieved/heavy burden is gone)

“ah.. i see.” “yeah! so, it was actually a joke.. i don’t know why i said “yes” but uhm yeah. sorry guys!” 

zhongli and everyone forgives you, and then you all lived happily ever after.

not before zhongli tells you to hug him for like hours after stream because of the pain his heart had to go through.

you should be scared of this man 😍(in a bad and.. good way?)

childe was streaming himself playing a horror game while you sat beside him, watching(his every move) him play the game

it was kind of boring but you didn’t mind, it was funny when childe got jump scared and screamed like a little girl

after a few rounds childe decided to stop playing and just focus on talking to his viewers, sure playing games are fun and all but childe loves and cherishes his viewers so why not talk to them?

(he loves you more than them ofc..)

“soooo, how are you guys?” “good? that’s good.”

“that sounds extremely creepy childe.” “?? what”

so yea, it was very interesting to say the least, but after asking everyone questions, they decided to ask you guys questions too!!

plus they would get more information about you guys, but mostly childe so those people can FINALLY add the correct information in childe’s biography.

and so the questioning begins.

but i won’t bore you with those questions so time skip to when someone asks you the question

you still sat beside childe and listened to everyone asking him questions and him answering back, when all of the sudden, someone asks you a question - “y/n do u have a lover?”

to be frank, nobody was surprised or shocked with the sudden question but everyone soon was wanting to know your answer, including childe.

childe paused and turned to look at you, giving you the “do you?” look

you open your mouth to say something but nothing comes out, you eye the screen then eye childe.

childe is still staring at you, waiting for your answer while everyone in chat starts to bet if you have a lover or not.

then you finally answer. “yeeesssss?” did you mean for it to come out like that? you sounded unsure.

“was that a “yes i do” yes or a “maybe?” yes, y/n?” childe says while raising his eyebrows, god his stupid face was making you flustered - the things he does to you..

you avoid eye contact with childe and turn your attention to the chat, everyone was asking you questions such as “does y/n have a lover?” or “so does y/n have a lover or not? someone tell meee!!”

you stare at the chat, looking at texts overlapping each other.

you turn to look at childe who now looks absolutely devastated, his smile was now gone, replaced with a frown.

before you could ask if he was okay childe suddenly asks you questions, questions you weren’t able to answer due to the amount of questions he asked you.

“does he treat you right?” “is he as rich as me?” “does he make you feel good.”

then came the “call him.”, you’re just there - not knowing what to do before slowly grabbing your phone while staring at childe who is now looking at you with that shit-eating grin, his whole facial expressions screamed “mischievous”, he was going to do something to your “lover” once you call him, you just knew it

childe scoots closer to you to peer over your shoulder to get a glance of your “lover’s” name but it unable to as you move to face him so he can’t see this “lover” of yours

of course, childe frowns. he stops and just patiently waits for you to call them

you bite your lip as you wonder what do do know, who should you call? what if they don’t play along? you sigh in defeat, but then you think - “what if i call childe?” it won’t hurt to try right? plus! you would be getting a 10/10% reaction from childe.

thinking about how he would react suddenly awakened the demon inside of you 😔

ayato is a very calm and collected man as we all know, but if you haven’t said that this was all a “joke on accident” he might’ve actually cussed this “lover” of yours

can y’all just imagine him spitting out the most disgusting, inhumane, vile, nasty, despicable, abominable, hellish insult you’ve ever heard out of his mouth. while smiling as if he didn’t just say the most disgusting, inhumane, vile, nasty, despicable, abominable, hellish insult you’ve ever heard out of his mouth...

but anyways!

today was an unusual day, instead of streaming games like scheduled, many of ayato’s viewers demanded that they allow them to ask you questions SINCE ayato had banned everyone from asking you questions as someone had asked you a very personal and creepy question that made you uncomfortable which of course, got ayato mad and banned everyone from asking you questions. even if they were harmless. he would NOT budge

you sigh and close as your eyes as you listen to ayato reminding everyone about what happened last time and that if anyone did ask a question they would be banned.

this went on for a bit before you got a bit tired and said out of no where -  “just let them ask me questions ayato, it won’t hurt right? plus even if someone were to ask me such questions you or the mod could just ban them!”

although it was true that he or the mods could just ban the person he was still hesitant to allow people ask you questions, but ayato reluctantly allows everyone to ask you question but on one condition, once someone asked a creepy a question or a question that makes you uncomfortable he WILL end the questioning stream and will never do a questioning stream ever again.

everyone agreed and somehow “pink promised” ayato not to ask such questions and within a second ayato was now smiling and in a good mood.

and so went the questioning, while it was a little boring because all you were doing was just answering their questions - it was kind of fun as you could answer questions that normally wouldn’t be asked. they were really interesting questions!

of course ayato and the mods were on the look out for any weird questions that would make you feel uncomfortable, and when they did spot one they quickly deleted it and went on to find more

but you might be asking, why did they end the stream like they said? well that was because when ayato saw how much you were enjoying the questions and when he saw how you answered them with such enthusiasm he couldn’t bring himself to stop the stream, he didn’t have the heart to do so. (awww 😊 🔪)

in the middle of the stream someone asked you if you had a “boyfriend or a lover” in which you responded yes.

after saying yes you froze while laughing nervously.

why on earth did you respond with “yes” when you know damn well that you don’t have a boyfriend?

you were still answering a question before that one came and once that question(^) came up you accidentally said “yes” without even knowing you said it. it was, you could say “instinct” but you’ve never been asked about having a lover or not so there was no way you could call it an “instinct”

ayato had to take a moment to process what you said and what the question was and there was no doubt - you said “yes” to “do you have a lover”

he stared at you with wide eyes and an open mouth, you stare back at him while awkwardly laughing

ayato shakes his head as he regains his composure, he clears his throat as he calmly asks you questions about this “lover” of yours.

you play along as you didn’t know what to do and just answer his questions.

“when did you meet him?” “uh like, 3 months.. ago?” “hm okay, is he handsome?” “most definenetly.” “...okay..” and so on

ayato’s heart was breaking one by one as you answered all of his questions

then, ayato decided to ask you if you could call him.

“y/n? is it okay for you to call him? i just want to talk to him.” “just talk? are you sure? i’ve heard you say that many times and then go onto-” “yes! yes, just talk to them.” “ ヽ(ಠ_ಠ)ノ “

you sigh in defeat while pulling out your phone, you had to play along!! what if he gets mad at you for faking this? what if he never talks to you ever again?!

you go into your contacts and while skimming and scanning everyone’s contact you can’t help but feel like you’re being stared at intensely, you take your eyes off your phone and look up to see ayato smiling at you, weirdly. you puff up your cheeks and go back to looking for someone that you know that WOULD play along

you try to find someone, anyone, but to no avail.

then you just decide to give up and press “call” on ayato’s contact

which of course his phone starts to buzz and ayato stops smiling for a bit before picking up his phone

your face is now bright red, though your avoiding eye contact with ayato, ayato is looking at you with a smirk once he realizes what you’ve done.

ayato gets up and turns to stream off leaving everyone on a cliffhanger(good luck to y/n)

once he turns to stream off he turns around and heads towards you

you’re aware that he’s getting closer and closer towards you but you still stay in your place. your face still bright red from embarrassed but also from imagining.. things with ayato.

what do you except anyways?! you have a crush on him so it’s not possible to not think about someone you like in that way!

once ayato is right behind you he ends the call and you hear the sound of ayato sitting right beside you

you slowly turn around to see ayato right. in. front. of. you. literally 2 inches away from your face

you gasp and your cheeks burn a even brighter red, ayato chuckles and pulls you in for a hug, you can hear ayato hums while twirling your hair

now you’re heart is not stable anymore, ayato’s heart isn’t either.

ayato too, is absolutely red from this interaction. although he is the one initiating he can’t help but feel uhm, you know, embarrassed and mushy?

you then hear ayato sigh, a relived sigh. “so you don’t actually have a boyfriend right? or is this some type of way to confess to me?” ayato says while smirking, you could just see him smirking.

you mutter out a “i.. don’t have a boyfriend” before resting your head on ayato’s shoulder.

ayato lets out a hum before going back to playing with your hair, you sigh in pleasure.

“are you alright?” you could only let out a “mhmmm” before closing your eyes, ayato chuckles and pulls you closer where you’re practically up against his chest.

this was the closest you’ve ever gotten to him and you thanked the gods while leaning in to be closer even though you were already close.

GYUVIN - ok puppy dog has no spending sense and would swipe swipe swipe until he got the character. or somehow get his account robbed and card details stolen. wouldn't swipe for c6 on characters but would swipe for all the skins.

plot goes soaring over his head. though, he'd get 100% completion completely on accident bc he runs from chest to chest completing everything bc ooh shiny. (it's what i do)

definitely hops across different coop worlds to be an absolute menace. steals all your starconches, beatles and cor lapis and leaves.

a whale so team comp doesn't quite matter, but i feel like cool burst animation is a must.

RICKY - need i explain? he doesn't even play the game often, he just sees a cool looking character and swipes. feels like he would c6r5 a character if he really liked them. would get surprisingly into event content just for the exclusive items etc. cares mildly about the plot and zero for the exploration.

would play cool and pretty characters bc when you're a whale, team composition just doesn't matter.

META 🎮

MATTHEW - a confirmed nerd by his sister so you bet he's an enthusiast. pays attention to kqm, twitter and future patch leaks. grinds out for the spiral abyss and has op asf team combos. would spend but only if he knows it's worth it.

enjoys the plot and characters, but not massive on exploration. still enjoys all the characters thoroughly and knows more lore tidbits than most. is the sweetest coop friend.

GUNWOOK - okokok he'd be apprehensive at first until he pulls like c5 benny and a eula then the world of dps (damage per screenshot) awakens. fights wars in the trenches of the honeyhunterworld comments section. stays updated and dips in and out of the game.

secretly stays about for plot. finds exploration boring but can admit it's pretty. the dude who refuses to swap characters when doing coop domains. does a boss blitz when bored.

CASUALS 💫

HANBIN - ok only got it bc the kids said he should. (gyuvin uses him to get the coop achievements) actually ended up staying bc wow everything is gorgeous, the plot is engaging and the characters have depth! and it's all free ?? goes about it at a decent pace, doesn't do spiral often, just finishing floor 10.

tcg enjoyer and event player.

ZHANG HAO - TEAPOT MAIN god yeah hella into the teapot. only completes the story and everything for the teapot. comes on sometimes to help hanbin out or bc someone else needs mats from his world. has a solid overworld team for collecting mats etc.

mildly enjoys the plot but exploration is where it's at.

NOT A GAMER 🌱

JIWOONG - only got it bc everyone else did, found out it took too much space on his phone, deleted it. tried playing it on gunwook's pc but had to play zhongli with his shield up 24/7 bc mechanics are hard okay! does see it as pretty and that yeah some characters are worth spending money for but there are better ways to find enjoyment in life.

TAERAE - doesn't mind it. he just doesn't see the hype over online characters. if and when he does play, it's on someone else's account and on the tcg. man loves the tcg, making decks and sweeping the floor with everyone.

has insane pull luck.

YUJIN - hmmm he sorta thinks it's cringe but gyuvin makes him play it. defo a valorant kid. tried to make a gun didn't work. plot doesn't matter much to him, interested in some character backstory but dips out when it comes to exploring. yujin defo thinks childe, xiao and alhaitham are cool. paimon gets on his nerves the most.

It’s been 2 years since both Master Childe and Mr. Zhongli have been dancing around each other. 2 YEARS!!!!

And just now… You literally won’t believe the level of PDA I had to witness. Mr. Zhongli lent his coat to Master Childe  because his official uniform is too “risque” and “insufficient” for Liyue’s winter.

It’s not even 9 am yet… I need coffee for this shit.

Ekaterina stares at her phone in horror as the notifications from her socials go blasting off every- freaking- second. Not to mention, the weird, suspicious and vague “mission” about digging more information on her boss and his “friend”

First thing Ekaterina does is to mute her socials. The constant pinging of the notifications started to annoy her and it might overheat her phone too. 

“-terina” 

She shouldn’t have posted about her boss. Worst decision she ever made in her entire life- well… not exactly the worst but definitely ranks up high somewhere in the regrets list. 

“Ekaterina?”

But to be fair, it was getting on her nerves recently, since Mr. Zhongli got very bold with his affection towards Master Childe recently, and well… her boss being the oblivious and dense person he is, hasn’t even noticed the advances, and instead he just shoots his “friend” an extremely blushy smil-

Woah —

Something- no - a pair of hands grab Ekaterina’s shoulders and shake the living soul out of her body. “Oww.”

“Katya! Come on! I’ve been calling your name so many times now. Where is your mind at?” Nadia, one of her colleagues and friend, stares at her with concern.

“Sorry,” Ekaterina replies, pushing her hair back. “Was thinking…”

“Is it the new mission?”

“Yeah.” 

She shoots Ekaterina a pitiful look before handing her a cup of coffee. “Better start the hustle then. Call me or the others if you need help. And boy, we have a lot of work cut out for us.” Nadia ushers her away to her office, “Go, go, time is mora. Don’t waste it.”

With that, the door to her office closes. Ekaterina places her coffee on the table and pulls out her chair, before remembering to check her phone.

Back to regretting my life choices, I guess. 

It took about a week to stalk gather intel on Master Childe and Mr. Zhongli’s time together. Stacks of brown envelopes and manila folders, labelled as “CONFIDENTIAL : FATUI ONLY” covered the entire top of Ekaterina’s dining table (scouring over reports about a harbinger’s rendezvous with a funeral consultant during working hours would have been too much on the nose)

The mission became a joint effort between her and other agents working at the Northland Bank. It was found out on their first day, that it wasn’t an easy task observing their extremely lovey dovey targets… The PDA displayed by them was too much (it was lethal to the agents’ health to watch them longer than an hour).

As the mission is classified to be confidential, and specially ordered by her majesty, Ekaterina and the agents couldn’t take any risks to get information leaked about whatever the heck they were doing. So, everyone opted for hard copy reports which could be destroyed once it fulfilled its use.

But no one expected it to be a massive headache as Ekaterina and her colleagues went through each one of them.

“When will this end?! There’s too many,” Felix breaks the silence with a groan, then slams his head down on the table.

“I feel like I’ve already read the same report a million times now, just worded differently.” Vlad rubs his eyes with a heavy sigh. “Every single day, they eat lunch together at Chef Mao’s, go to Yun Jin’s plays, or sometimes to Third-Round Knockout and finally crash at either one’s home for dinner, did I get that right?”

“You’re correct, except for one thing. Everything and everything is paid by Lord Tartaglia,” Felix responded, seemingly recovered from his exhaustion. 

Everyone hums in union. 

To be fair though, the mora used by Master Childe on his outings weren’t really his, but Lord Pantalone’s. Hell, even Ekaterina would exploit 9th Harbringer’s mora (if she had a higher standing in the fatui, of course)

“Lets not forget these.” With the most deadpan expression, Vlad tosses pictures of the “dates” their boss and his “friend” had, but many many cropped pictures of Master Childe’s chest framed perfectly by his leather harness, stood out from the stack.

“Who took these?” and “Why?” was left unsaid amongst them all. 

Nadia choked suspiciously on air just then. Nervously shifting her eyes around. 

Thinking to save her friend from embarrassment, Ekaterina tries to change the subject. “Ahem, anyway, since all the reports are basically the same, let’s just summarise it.” 

“Umm something along the lines of … Master Childe is a sugar daddy for Mr. Zhongli and they act like a married couple?” Felix says while rubbing his chin in deep thought. 

“Let's… At least try to rephrase our wording, not so straightforward.” Vlad smiles, or at least tries to.

Meanwhile, in the privacy of Zhongli’s home, an elegantly written note addressed not to Zhongli, but Morax, materialises right in front of him.

 “You shameless old dragon, get your broke ass to Snezhnaya now! We need to talk” 

Never in his life did Childe feel as nervous and scared until today. He was shaking in his boots as he looked back and forth between her majesty and Mr. Zhongli (alternatively Rex Lapis, as he just found out… but that can be discussed later). He didn’t think that he’d get summoned by The Tsaritsa nor did he expect Mr. Zhongli, who was supposed to be in Liyue doing his job, to be invited to her majesty’s garden for tea.

Tea? Nope this isn’t tea, this is basically an interrogation session! 

“Now, let me get this straight. You gave the boy a pair of marriage chopsticks and he accepted it?” Tsaritsa raised her teacup to her scowling lips slowly.

Hold on, wait a minute… Marriage chopsticks? 

“That is correct–”

“And you thought that my youngest, born and raised in Snezhnaya would understand the meaning behind this act? You didn’t think this through did you, Morax? How embarrassing, I suppose Barbatos is still right, you ARE a stone blockhead.”

Mr. Zhongli coughed discreetly to disguise his embarrassment, before taking a sip from his cup, “Now please, Tsaritsa, there’s no need to chastise me for it.” 

“I must, with how you shamelessly court my youngest Harbinger without my knowledge.” Tsaritsa’s eyes narrow down at Zhongli, like a mother ready to scold.

Childe watches the entire exchange in shock– courting ? Mr. Zhongli and courting ? Just what in Celestia is happening ? He must have looked like a dumbfounded monkey, staring at them, until her majesty’s words interrupt his inner turmoil.

“Well,” she says curtly “Has the wedding date been set? If not, I shall take care of it.”

Sputtering and hacking on his tea, Childe replied, “W-What!??”

HELLO!

I HAVE A THEORY! And this is a theory regarding the newest character of Honkai: Star Rail, the rootin’ tootin’, flamboyant, brash, and trigger happy space cowboy of the Galaxy Rangers—Boothill! This will be posted on both Tumblr and AO3 for those who do not have either or for easier access! By the way, this theory contains mentions of leaks and in-game content, so if you don't want to get any spoilers, I advise not to read this theory at all.

For starters, I will admit that I haven’t played Honkai: Star Rail in a while due to…whatever reason I had, and one of those reasons was because of Twisted Wonderland! I was playing that for a while—still am—I was having a blast insulting Ace and having aneurysms over the students’ antics and methods of breaking people out (I’m lookin’ at you, Rook). It was great! Then, Star Rail showcases two new characters on their Twitter page for their newest planet known as Penacony, one of them being Boothill who a lot of people were upset with due to them wanting the characters, Sam and/or Firefly who unfortunately met her demise in the newest update, and…well, I fell head over heels for him and started saving for him (122 PULLS WITH 20 PITY BABY BUT HE’S MY FIRST FEATURED CHARACTER SO PRAY FOR ME). I kept up with leaks because I could care less about gameplay, stat kit, and character lore leaks since that’s the interesting part and helps me figure out if I want the newest character…like my Al-Haitham theory which did not age well, this theory about Boothill does stem from exhaustion from not sleeping, but I feel like this is a more coherent and sound theory than the last, and I have to say that I have to take this with a grain of salt—and I advise the same for you—because it’s merely a theory. I can be wrong on certain things, but without ado, I’ll start with what really feels like the backbone of this theory, and that is Boothill’s name: Boothill.

The Name

So, just to give a little context, prominently in Asian media—most notably Japanese and Chinese entertainment from what I’ve seen as I played HoYo games and watched a lot of anime—characters tend to have name pun which correspond with their personality, physical design, talents, etc., to give people a little laugh and be like, “Ooooh! I get what they mean!” For example, Zhongli, in HoYoverse’s most popular game, Genshin Impact, written as 钟离 in simplified Chinese, is a pun of his departure—his retirement—as Rex Lapis: 钟 Zhōng being a homophone for the word for “clock” as it’s spelled exactly the same, while 离 Lí is a common word for “leaving” or “away”. Putting it together, it can be taken as “time of departure/leaving” or “off the clock” which foreshadowed Zhongli stepping down as Archon of Liyue.

With that knowledge in mind, I looked at Boothill's name and decided to Google it because I knew it was a pun of some sort! My only thought was that his name could have been a reference to a western (cowboy) film I never heard of which, to me, made sense as Boothill is modeled after stereotypical cowboys, and HoYo loves pop culture references with the Genius Invokation TCG which is a reference to the ever-so-popular card game, Yu-Gi-Oh, and how March 7th and Caelus made a reference to the movie, Fight Club, when the Moles were talking about the first rule of Fight Club…never talk about Fight Club! So, I thought Boothill was a nod to an old movie!

…No! A lot of people have already Googled it, but for those who probably don’t know, Boothill’s name comes from a burial grounds for gunfighters—with headstones engraved with the gunfighter’s name or “unknown” if the identity of the person has not been found—in the Old American West called a Boot Hill, and that name derives from the phrase “those who died with their boots on”, meaning that the gunfighter died rather violently. I did see someone say that the phrase could also mean that they were hanged, and that part is correct as the context of the expression changed in the early 19th century. However, I don’t believe that Boothill was hanged—although it is a possibility that I will keep in mind! Again, I have to take this theory with a grain of salt so I don’t die on that hill again, but seeing Boothill’s situation that he’s metal and wires from the chin down, he most likely died in a very extreme battle in the past since the only thing human about him…is his head!

His body must have been blasted to oblivion to where it was beyond saving, beheading him from the impact of whatever and whoever killed him. Now, some people may think that they probably just beheaded him or he was shot multiple times in the chest: other possibilities I will keep in mind, but that would mean he could have resulted as some kind of Frankenstein instead because if the body was still there, the Interastral Peace Corporation or IPC (the people who rebuilt Boothill) would use that since he has things to salvage like a heart or liver, etc., yet if we look at another Star Rail character named Luka who hails from the Underworld, he is missing an arm which is replaced with a mechanical one. That is because Luka saved a child in a fire involving a monster possibly from the Fragmentum, and his arm was chopped off by the ax the monster wielded, giving him the prosthetic he has today. So, if we compare Luka to Boothill in terms of how bad the conflict in Boothill’s past was, Boothill lost too much of his body from the chin down for the IPC to even save, leaving him with a full body prosthetic.

The Light Cone

Now, the question that we have…why was Boothill killed? Who could’ve had such a grudge against him that they killed him off so violently? Well, that is where his Light Cone description comes in. Let’s focus on the middle of the description where it states:

“Some cruel memories resurfaced as the unforgettable hatred turned into a weak light in the darkness.”

The Light Cone entirely describes when Boothill was regaining consciousness and how he felt while briefly in a limbo before being greeted by a doctor in the IPC. What sticks out are these “cruel memories” and this “unforgettable hatred” that he has which calls back to what happened before he died. I’ll lead into this with another point I have to make this make sense a little bit: Boothill is a bounty hunter. Why do I think this? Well, we get a glimpse of this in-game in the newest update of Star Rail where Black Swan answers the phone to a mysterious Pathstrider of the Hunt who is part of the Galaxy Rangers (a gang who “swore to punish the wretched by any and all means”) who is tracking down Acheron, ready to kill her for reasons unknown as of right now: that was Boothill who has been confirmed to be a Pathstrider of the Hunt along with him being a Galaxy Ranger as he calls Acheron an “imposter” who is also a Galaxy Ranger, most likely hinting that Acheron is going undercover and infiltrating the group. We also know it is him from his line, “My bullets will find you”, since he is a gunslinger with a bullet motif on his hat and actual bullets around his waist and one hanging from his left ear.

Going back to the point I made, he’s obviously smart with pinpointing someone’s location such as Acheron’s and having at least some information on her like her being an Emanator. His Path, the Hunt, is said to “admire determination, ruthlessness, and tenacious behavior”, which fits Boothill’s Light Cone description as well as his possible reason for his alliance with the Galaxy Rangers and why his finger is ready to shoot Black Swan if she was an ally of Acheron stating to “get [her] forehead clean…and wait for [him]”. A bounty hunter would have to be ruthless with their target, showing little to no emotion as they are the person they are after, the person who wronged their client or the bounty hunter themselves, and it is obvious that Boothill is determined to gather any info from Black Swan to continue his hunt with Acheron.

Now, with that in mind…Boothill had to have been a bounty hunter in the past who was wronged as he had “cruel memories” returning to his mind, and he had anger in his heart that was weakening but helped him return to the living world. If I were to guess, he may have had a loved one who died at the hands of someone else and gained the skills to become a bounty hunter in his previous life to hunt that person down because he had “unforgettable hatred”, and that had to be at a level where he couldn’t let go especially if he had “cruel memories”, and those could probably be that he watched that same loved one get brutally tortured and/or murdered in front of him. As to who the loved one of Boothill could have been, it could have been anyone: his father, his mother, a sister, brother, a best friend—Unfortunately, we do not have the information to determine that for sure, but I truly believe that it could be someone he was very close to that was tortured and/or killed for, again, reasons unknown.

The IPC

From what we gathered in the leaks and what HoYo has already established, it was the IPC that brought Boothill back with unknown intentions, but to me for this theory, it’s because of his skills as a bounty hunter since he must have been the best hunter wherever he came from. However, Boothill has a new grudge against the IPC as the his reveal information stated that, “His flamboyant and brash actions were all to draw the attention of the Interastral Peace Corporation — the target of his revenge.” The man is very flamboyant as we can holler back to his Ultimate, his skill…the freaking JoJo poses—

—(somebody in HoYo is a JoJo fan—IT'S BECOME INCREDIBLY CLEAR NOW) so I can see him causing havoc and being flashy to purposely attract their attention so he can properly get his revenge on them due to them making him into a cyborg which he isn’t happy about.

However…if I go back to the Light Cone description…at the very end, it said that Boothill “would no longer live for himself.” Sounds a little strange, doesn’t it? Here he is greeted by the doctor that saved him, and he’s clenching his new iron fists (literally speaking) because he knows what the IPC’s intentions are. If he’s no longer living for himself, that doctor would most likely have a sadistic tone when he welcomed him back because they experimented on him, testing him and his new body and using him for unspeakable things against his will, and why do I believe this?

Think back to Boothill’s gameplay and the leak of his gun’s range. That could be a reason, and a way I can describe it is by using Bucky Barnes, a.k.a. the Winter Soldier, in the MARVEL franchise. In the movie, Captain America: The First Avenger, Bucky was believed to be killed during a fall off a hijacked train in WWII in an attack against HYDRA, a sub-Nazi group led by the Red Skull, Steve becoming devastated by his best friend’s death. However, in Captain America: Civil War, it was revealed that Bucky was actually brainwashed, gaining a prosthetic arm (like Luka), and became a Super Soldier under HYDRA as they experimented to revive Dr. Erskine’s research for the original Super Soldier serum. Plus, HYDRA knew of his friendship with Steven Rogers and that Steve was alive but was going to expose S.H.I.E.L.D. for their lies, making him a threat. So, they trained and used Bucky as their line of defense since he was the only successful experiment that remotely compares to Captain America in strength and combat.

Because of Boothill’s skills in gunslinging, the IPC possibly saw this as an opportunity to have an effective line of defense in case something were to happen in their facility or if there was someone they needed to eliminate; they would have Boothill who had those qualifications to be their guard dog, but hearing how Boothill talks in-game for the first time, you could hear a hint of insanity in him as he keeps insisting that he will kill Acheron and Black Swan with lines such as “My bullets will find you”, “you best find a casket store on Penacony, and ask the owner to reserve a good quality casket for you”, “I’ll leave a round for you, so get that forehead clean and wait for me”, and “Are you askin’ me to write your will?” He wants to kill anybody who hurts him, still having that anger. That must have been how he felt when he was trapped in the IPC facility, going through experiment after experiment that broke him to the point that he couldn’t take it anymore as he is still human; he still has emotions and a mind of his own despite being 90% iron and wires.

Boothill knew, from the sound of that doctor’s tone, that he would be seen as their Super Soldier, a little toy they could dispose of if he was deemed useless; he was nothing but a heartless, soulless object to them which most likely broke him. Boothill has calmed down since his possible escape from an IPC facility and killing people in order to have a successful breakout, but he still has that pain inside his heart because of the possible abuse he faced that he’s trying to protect himself from being betrayed or used again which is why he’s so expressive and flamboyant.

He wants to live for himself and show the IPC just how human he was. However, he’s still showing off how strong he is as a warning to others of what he can do to them if they ever crossed him.

Now, I cannot stress enough that this is just a theory (A GAAAAAME THEORY), and I have to take this with a grain of salt because there is still a lot we don't know about Boothill regarding his past or his relationship with the IPC. Heck, a friend of mine and I believe that Boothill may not actually be his real name, but there's no evidence of his real name to even prove that point. This is all speculation, and what I gathered and thought about using any resources I have at my disposal to produce this, so please—for the love of the QUEEN OF HEARTS HERSELF—do not take this as actual, confirmed, or leaked information on Boothill's backstory since there are many unanswered questions. For now, I'll stick to what I got until Boothill is finally released!

And hopefully not die on that hill like I did with Al-Haitham...

Xianyun’s demo is the 2nd best, but her story quest was the best, Chenyu vale is the best region in the game, the best event and the best version. I feel so aauaiuauauuuu

Familial ties are one of the key things that drew me to Genshin. Art, culture, mythology, music, gameplay, lore and found family is genuinely what keeps me tied to this game. i already decide to read the 4.2 datamine before the update bc i was so nervous after all the BS so far... but they actually managed to surprise me and make it worse than i thought it could be T.T

i was already prepared for and willing to accept if furina is the surviving half of [REDACTED], but this is worse. she's not even part of [REDACTED] she's just a doppelganger AND she wasn't ever making the decisions and helping the master plan///// i hate this this feels like it was written by a woman hater. it just pulls the rug out from under everything. i hate it. it feels like they just used this quest to introduce multiple new factions of powerful potential gacha units for more money

First of all, hi!

Secondly, I understand your disappointment with the quest, you're valid to have a negative opinion. I, myself, was taken by surprise with the things that happened, but... I'm not angry or anything. It was a good quest imo, for me the best one I've seen in Genshin up to date and that's coming from someone who is also a Honkai Impact 3rd fan. It was the first time I cried in Genshin while in Honkai I cried multiple times.

And I disagree about Furina. She wasn't a "doppleganger". A doppleganger is a situation like Elena Gilbert is to Katherine Pierce in The Vampire Diaries. Furina has been stated clearly, multiple times in the AQ, to be Focalors' Human Half. The consciousness in the Oratrice was the Divine Half of Focalors, she even calls herself "Focalors' Divinity". The difference between Furina and the Oratrice Half is that Furina didn't get Focalors' memories, but the Oratrice Half did. It was all part of the plan, just like it was said "To deceive the Heavenly Principles you must first deceive yourself". Even Zhongli in his VL about Furina says "she made a contract with HER OWN SELF". Please don't ever think that Furina is unimportant, she was the key to the solving of the prophecy, without her everything would have been destroyed.

Yeah, I don't see Furina and the Oratrice Half as different people, they're two halves of the same whole. Paimon also says about Focalors "She sacrificed herself in the end as a God and she suffered through all these years as a human". Maybe it's also my Christian upbringing speaking here but for me, Focalors - Furina - Oratrice Half are literally a parallel to The Father - The Son- The Holy Spirit a.k.a the Holy Trinity- three personas, but all 3 are the same God.

Okay Genshin 4.1 thoughts dump because if I don't compile my thoughts somewhere I will literally implode. Anyways, spoilers for the Fontaine Archon Quest so far (as of Chapter 4, the Version 4.1 update) under the Read More (a couple paragraphs under, but you catch my drift)

So. Something I have always absolutely adored about Genshin's storytelling is the way it goes about presenting its gods as "Human too"...

At first, it was seen painfully obvious through Ei and her incredibly human response to grief and trauma (a lot of people thought she was being unreasonable, and yeah for a ruler of an entire nation, closing yourself off to the outside world certainly seems - and is - irresponsible. And then... you consider how easily any other normal person would have done the same thing, if not worse, if they had lost nearly everyone they loved in quick succession, while also being personally responsible for a handful of those deaths).

And upon further reflection on the topic, you can see blatant traces of it present in every archon. And I don't just mean their trying to blend into/ further their understanding of humans, human society, and human nature.

I mean, Venti is kinda hedonistic and aloof; Zhongli wasn't always as wise and so intricately-versed in his knowledge about so many things - before the Archon War, he was more of a brute who preferred to solve things head-on (literally) as opposed to thinking things through; Nahida- oh don't even get me started on Nahida. Her self-doubt and insecurity as a result of facing constant beratement and feelings of inferiority to Rukkhadevata; her constant desire to learn more (both for her namesake as the God of Wisdom, to prove herself, and for her own curiosity's sake); her child-like nature (as a result of her research and human observation ofc!!! but still adorable none-the-less; I mean "dook-dook" !?! come on!)...

But now with Furina, oh. I think we've entered a BRAND NEW level and it's part of the reason why I absolutely love her so much.

In classic good-story-telling practice, Genshin achieves all of this through "show-not-tell" and it's world-class ability of characterizing its characters (IN MY OPINION ! I love them so much, okay?). And from the second I MET this girl to the very last line of 4.1's archon quest, it has been made painfully abundant to me that

Furina is just a child.

She has. NO IDEA what she's doing!!! Now, the underlying reasons for this have yet to be seen, and will most likely be tackled in the very next Archon Quest chapter, but if you'll allow me to speculate right now... Knowing that Egeria also conducted trials for citizens who broke the law (meaning she should have also been a God of Justice), I believe whole-heartedly that it was her who built the entire system Furina and Neuvillette are running right now. Meaning, I'm confident Furina has absolutely nothing to do with it. The ONLY (and I think I truly mean ONLY) thing Furina did in the time since she inherited the role was: change the perception of what justice and its deliverance should be into something a lot more akin to a dramatic play, only enacted for people's enjoyment.

Which includes her lack of knowledge on the Oratrice. Furina didn't create it. How could she? She's so utterly ignorant on what it is, how it works, and dare I say what it's truly even for.

The moment I read this statement I convinced myself that it had to have been the previous Hydro Archon. And while I concede that: looking back on the wording of this statement now, it seems like its existence would only be beneficial under someone like Furina's ruling… But, I'm willing to just chalk that up to "Egeria had great future-sight" (or something more along the lines of: she trusted the machine to help keep her in check so false charges were less likely; and it just so happens that its decision making is carrying the court system now under Furina’s rule).

Like many things related to Fontaine's history, it would seem, Egeria being solely responsible for the creation of all these staple facilities and aspects of the nation's inner workings would shed light on why Furina is so unknowing. She had nothing to do with it. And while I'm no envoy from Celestia, so I have no insight as to what the hell happens when a new Archon is born to fill in the void that was left, I think that whatever that process is (IF THERE EVEN IS ONE) went completely awry for Furina. She probably didn't even inherit the Gnosis - ever ! I'm thinking it's stuffed into the Oratrice somehow/somewhere. I'm thinking the "curse" Arlecchino sensed has something to do with that process of inheritance (or... lack thereof) going so wrong.

It’s obvious that Furina is running from something. Ignoring something. Distracting herself from the realities of the world with the “spectacle of the courtroom” (as Dain put it). And it’d be easy to just chalk it up to her being a little bitch with no deeper meaning but I don’t think that’s it.

Genshin doesn’t make it gods “just human”. They spend their time trying to prove that they’re “Human too”.

The underlying reasons for it have to lie in whatever happened when Furina was born. Cursed. Whether it was a curse to end up alone (as per the prophecy), or to never obtain the powers becoming of a god in this world... Whatever happened, it overwhelmed Furina to an unbearable degree, and naturally, like any Human would... she resorted to escapism. She found entertainment in the trials headed at the court room, realized she could make people like her by being this mascot of justice, and upon learning that it's only a matter of time before all of her subjects turn into puddles and she'll be left all alone… she decided to just- NOT think about it!! Who would?! That is a horrifying! revelation.

THAT is why she's so scared to fight - literally anyone!! She doesn’t have the power (and if she does she’s never had to use it).

THAT is why she’s turned out this way - a brat with very little humility, never knowing when to stop the act - because for centuries she’s lived in this little Lala-Land of a bubble denying the inevitable. A fate she was cursed with from the moment she inherited the title of “God”. She wasn’t really given powers, she wasn’t given dominion, and she most certainly hasn’t received instruction, or… ANY!?! HELP!! it seems, in understanding what it means to be an Archon (perhaps even in spite of those other perks she was “supposed” to receive.)

Born to be a god, yet being set up to suffer the loss of your entire people with almost no power to change it? That would fuck anyone up, even an Archon.

She’s so disconnected that Arle’s assassination attempt shocked her to her core. She’s a GOD!! Who would try to assassinate her (aside from the Fatui)!? She’s never had to even perceive the notion of being a target of something like that. Stack that on top of her general sense of helplessness in the greater context of what’s happening to her nation, and it makes sense that she broke down crying later that night... :(

Reader deleting genshin

You took a frustrated sigh, another error, you wondered how many you've gotten in the past hour.

For some reason, your favorite games update is taking a bit long, crashing midway or giving an error that causes the download to restart again.

İnternet isn't giving much answers to you either. You tried almost everything you could try, to opening more storage space to deleting your game photo file, and at this point, you were growing desperate.

İnside the game, your characters were worried. You certainly took your time, they knew it was profably not too much of an issue and you were just busy. But for those who grow anxious EVERYTİME that you grow late, like Zhongli, Jean and Ninguang, it was a diffrent story...

Why are you late? İs everything alright in your world? Are you abandoning them? Did they do something not to your liking? Were their damage low? Will you log in faster if they do better?

Not knowing what you think or what happens in your world is killing them, they need to see you, HEAR you, so then maybe... Maybe you'll see them as well.

What took you so long? They need you...

When Buer was born, the first thing she could feel is how grass felt on her knees as she sat down, how flowers smelled like a dream and how vibrant everything was! She seemed to know everything, remember everyone and understand everything at that moment. While knowing nothing at the same time! How curious she was at everything she saw and felt!

But at the base of it all, she knew where all of this was created, she knew you.

She could only feel gratefull to you for creating such a wonderfull world, the world where countless travelers and artists fell in love. After all of the feelings she felt about you and your world, how could she say no when the Archons asked her about what they can do to meet you.

General Mahamatra moving people away from the empty, dark spaces to 'safety', Dancer Nilou helped him with controlling a huge crowd,

Forest ranger Tighnari's situation was worse, he tried to stop the hatred from spreading even from plants,

the academia has just Heard of all of this but the unforgiving wrath of the creator was too fast, Buer felt their followers' bones get crushed with force and skins get stretched in impossible ways. She died with her followers, countless times, but all she could do was watch as you took away the world she fell in love with..

"why are you angry? Why are we the ones that are suffering from it? Do you hate us that much...." Was all of the questions that she wont have the time to get them answered.

The second to grow affected was morax, before reaching out to help his friend he instead fell to the ground, he was... Crying.. he could hear and feel his peoples painfull cries and prayers for him. And yet he couldnt move, couldnt breath, what is this power? İs this what it feels like to suffer from his gods wrath?

He worshiped you the longest, she knew about your presence the longest so... Why?

He saw xiao, trying to keep the void from reaching wangshu Inn, by nearby monsters, weapons, ANYTHİNG to stop it from reaching the öne place he could call home. Some of The things he threw didnt got deleted and stayed in that position, but some were stuck mid air.

He saw liyue, as ninguang tried to stop the void by sacraficing the jade Chamber again, it got deleted and everything was destroyer before even reaching to the ground, including people.

"How could you do such a thing? Were we not enough? Even so, we didnt deserve it, no, They... They didnt deserve it. Please hear our prayers, they dont deserve to die your Grace, not like this... Please not like this"

Beelzebub tried to run away, to her own people, but was stoped by the god of natlan, what is the point? İt is in ruins now, it cannot be saved.

Her knees gave up as the harsh truth hit her, she promised her people a dream, a dream that their nation will reach eternity, live longer than gods and all the nations combined.

She saw yae just sitting near the shrine and enjoying tea, perhaps she didnt knew, but she doubted that she would do anything if she even did.

Kujou sara and sangonomia kokomi joined their powers to make sure the losses were minimum, but before they could even begin the plan...

"İt is futile...." Buer managed to speak, pain worsening by the second "they... c- cant hear us without.... Without the aid of our own world..."

"They're praying to us.. to THEM! We have t-to do something!!" Barbatos screamed, he was always there for his nation when they realy need it, he won't let it be the first time he wasn't!

He can feel the Tevat strugling to breath as all plantlife and elements are being corrupted.

He looked up from where he is, at your painting, you helped his people once, made them live another day, he was eternaly gratefull to you for it.

But why? Why are you taking back what you once gave without even thinking? İs this all a game to you? Do they even matter to you?

He listened to his followers last thoughts, they too were asking the same.

"All of them gave up their freedom for you, for you to explore this world to your hearts content. What made you so cruel to them?" Jean asked while trying to protect the last citizen of Mondstadt, despite her invisible limbs she kept on fighting nothingness, even if that meant angering you further.

They screamed untill their throaths bled, trying to get your attention in anyway possible, but you weren't paying them any mind. You were busy looking at another painting.

Untill they.. stoped.

As the deletion bar almost filled up, all of their pain seemed to vanish. Asking themselves;

Why... Why were they here?

They wanted to protect someone? Some... People? But how?

As far as they can remember, its always been them alone.

They were sad and angry but why? They cant even remember anymore.

As the last archon stood there to look at you, they could only say nonsense that theyre not even sure what it means;

I'm playing a new Genshin-themed Rimworld save again (the previous save got too big and constantly crashed the game asjfklg)

Anyway, this save is pretty much built around Scaramouche. He started out as a lonely rich explorer, with the aspiration to artificially modify his human body to become something superior to normal humans.

Fairly long explanation on the cursed, straight out-of-fanfiction stuff that has happened during this playthrough under the cut:

Fairly quickly, people started joining Scara, and now there's seven people living with him: Childe, Kazuha, Lumine, Cyno, Zhongli, Bennett and Tighnari. There's also Nahida, but she is still a prisoner who they are trying to convert, but she'll join soon. Kazuha may have just recently set her on fire with his plasma sword, but I'm sure she didn't mind that too much lol.

But anyway, here's the thing. I gave Scara the traits beautiful, abrasive and vengeful (among other things). He has good social skills, so for the most parts he's getting along with the others well enough. Because he is beautiful, everyone has REALLY good opinions abt him. BUT because he is abrasive and vengeful, he doesn't really care about anyone. He's mostly neutral towards everyone.

Except Cyno.

From the moment Cyno joined, Scara has HATED him. And because he has the vengeful trait, Scara has literally wanted Cyno dead AND has had multiple mental breakdowns over the fact that Cyno is still alive. Cyno, on the other hand, has had a pretty positive opinion on Scara the whole time lmao.

(Also Cyno spent like half a year in a catatonic state bc he was getting over a psychite tea addiction. Things weren't going well for him, but he's okay now.)

Scara has also seen Kazuha as a rival and has wanted him dead, but it hasn't nearly been as bad as with Cyno. Sometimes Scara and Kazuha have gotten along, sometimes not.

However, while Scara has been plotting Cyno and Kazuha's deaths, those two get together and get engaged?? Don't ask me how or why or when. But they are happy together and are planning on getting married at some point.

...unless a certain someone (*cough* Scara *cough*) accidentally friendly-fires one of them before that, like he did with Bennett during a raid. Poor guy almost lost both his arm and a leg from that one shot.

Anyway, fast forward a bit, and out of nowhere, the game suddenly prompts a notication about new lovers. And here I am, wondering which two people are getting together.

It's Scara and Cyno.

At some point, they have literally gone from enemies to lovers. All while Cyno has been in a relationship with Kazuha.

And apparently it was SCARA who initiated the whole thing. After literally hating Cyno more than anyone else in the colony. And even though Scara and Kazuha's ideology disapproves multiple spouses.

...I have a feeling that things are going to get spicy. And someone is probably going to end up dead askflfjdlgf
