I like you [/p, unless you're Lumii, in which case /gay gay homosexual very much romantic], have some of my Genshin Impact Modern/College AU headcanons 👉👈
Content warnings: FLUFF!!!! Brief mentions of drugs a few times but no use is described in detail!
Tumblr media
—Albedo and Sucrose were lab partners in high-school and they happen to have a few chem classes together, so they stick with who the know. Albedo is majoring in Advanced Chem [probably to be a teacher if I'm being honest] and Sucrose in Bio Chem
—Zhongli is a huge rock nerd, always has been. Geology major, with a minor in history because gramps knows a lot :skull: Hes one of the only archons I can see being a professor tbh
—Itto works at an arcade. Hmm, I wonder where all of his college tuition goes....I'm just kidding, or am I?
—Ajax does criminology, and has a big old interest on true crime cases. He loves listening to podcasts about both solved and unsolved cases
—The Fatui is just a frat house send tweet. No murder in my modern college au >:((((
—All the "teen" characters, like Bennett, Razor, Xingqiu, Chongyun, Collei, etc, they're all high-school students. Upperclassmen [juniors and seniors], like 17-19 years old
—Dori is like, this world's version of Jeffrey Bezos, change my mind
—Venti and Kazuha have done a duet before. Many times, actually. Venti has offered him a spot in his band, to which Kazuha politely declined. He likes the freedom of freelance artistry and doesn't like feeling tied down to something like a band. Also, yes Kazuha sounds like Cigarettes After Sex when he sings fight me just listen to some if their music and you'll understand where I'm coming from. Unless Mark Whitten can sing, in which case, I AM LOOKING MR.WHITTEN ONE OF MY FAVE ENG VAS. Venti's is, ofc, Erika because yes <3
—Cyno, Tignari, and Collei all live together with the former two being roomates and College buddies and Collei being adopted/taken in by them.
—Ayato was the student council president in high school and he's on the college leadership committee
—Ayaka, Yoimiya, and Kokomi are in a poly throuple because they would be cute together let's be honest here
—Ningguang and Beidou are high-school sweethearts and Kazuha is their roomie that they literally just adopted. Like, he settled in and they literally had him sign adoption papers......as an adult 😭😭😭😭
—I personally don't like/use the stoner Kazuha headcanon [but that's mainly because of my trauma with weed] but he does have Tomo's name tattooed on his ankle. He was like an older brother to him and he died in a freak accident
—Miko has to cook, otherwise Ei would burn their shared home down. She literally can't leave Ei alone 💀
—I see Gorou as a paleontologist for some reason. Dunno, just got the vibes
—Nahida was valedictorian in high-school and probably will graduate college with even higher honors than what she got in high-school. Smart bean yes yes
—Teyvat is the name of the college, the 7 nations are the seven areas/halls (like Mondstadt would be the arts hall, Sumeru would be the science hall, Liyue would be history, etc etc)
—Kazuha works as a botanist and is also a freelance musician! His major is Environmental Science and he's definitely an activist
—Heizou definitely goes into a Criminal Justice and Law and he probably has some sort of internship related to that.
—Venti is obviously a music major, like, is that even a question? Of course he's got a and and of course he does gigs.
—Xiao gives me the vibes of a Criminal Justice major too, what with his demon conquering and all. Imaging him and Heizou in a class together omfg-
—Heizou was in a debate club in high school, and he got his team through the championships, winning them first place. He still has the medallion hanging up in his room, along with the picture of his team holding him up as he was holding up the trophy.
—While Heizou has a lot of intellect and intuition, he's not as emotionally intelligent as others. He struggles with communicating and knowing when to stop a joke because he can't take a hint that he's actually being mean and the person doesn't like it 😭 If you've seen TBHK, he's kinda similar to how Hanako was in the Confession Tree episode. He doesn't do it on purpose, but he can be so mean when he's teasing [how did my general Heizou headcanon make it into the modern au batch- oh, well]
—Kazuha scrapbooks and does photography as a hobby, along with his poetry and carving. I also see him doing fencing. High society kid things ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
—Heizou always helps out any of his friends with self defense lessons. He's always looking out for them and making sure they're safe. You can trust him to watch your drink and you best bet that he's caught guys trying to roofie drinks and made sure they regret their life choices <3
—Kokomi and Marine Biology??? Hell YEAH!!! I also can see her being a professional mermaid for a side job. Tbh, that's right up her alley. She's also always got her nose in a book studying, even when she's out on a date with her girlfriends! >:o Put the book down and pay attention to your girlfriends girlie!!!
—All of the anemo users were band and/or kids in high school, come on. It's the trauma that got it written all over them for me💀 No I'm not projecting my feelings as a band kid onto my favorite element sh-shut up-! Chongyun also strikes me as a band kid and Xingqiu a theater kid, and yes he teases Chongyun for being in band

This event, spanning two days from January 11 to 12, was a melting pot of ideas, featuring nearly 200 nuclear waste professionals, academics, and students. They converged to share and discuss groundbreaking research in geological disposal, highlighting early-stage investigations funded and supported by NWS. It was an unparalleled opportunity for sector colleagues to collaborate and shape the future of nuclear waste management.   Bridging Academia and Industry Keynote Insights: Shaping the Future of Nuclear Waste Neil Hyatt, Chief Scientific Advisor at NWS, graced the event as the keynote speaker. His address underlined the critical nature of collaborative efforts between academia and the nuclear industry. He celebrated the dynamic and diverse community that has formed around geological disposal research, expressing pride in the new generation shaping this field. Hyatt's speech was more than informational; it was an inspiring vision of the field's future, highlighting the peak of innovation currently being experienced in the nuclear sector.
Global Collaboration in Focus
UK and Canada: Partners in Nuclear Innovation The conference also highlighted the importance of international collaboration, with insights from Peter Keech of the Nuclear Waste Management Organization, Canada. Keech praised the Research Support Office for setting a high bar in fostering interactions between industry and academia. He drew attention to the complementary nature of the UK and Canadian Geological Disposal Facility (GDF) programs. His reflections on the conference included plans to incorporate the valuable learning from the UK's academic engagement into NWMO's strategies, particularly encouraging interdisciplinary thinking within the academic community. Guiding the Future of GDF Research Programme as a Pillar of Progress At the heart of the conference was a focus on the research program at NWS, which plays an integral role in developing a GDF. The gathered experts delved into how this research informs crucial aspects such as site selection for development, safety case formulation, and facility design. The discussions and findings presented at the conference are expected to significantly influence the future direction and effectiveness of geological disposal strategies, marking a substantial step towards sustainable nuclear waste management.   Academic Collaboration at Its Best RSO: A Beacon of Interdisciplinary Research The NWS Research Support Office, born from a collaboration between the University of Manchester and the University of Bristol, stands as a shining example of interdisciplinary academic collaboration. This partnership has expanded to include participation from 17 UK universities, covering a wide range of disciplines from material science to social science, and from geology to applied mathematics. The RSO's remarkable growth over just two years has led to the support of 33 PhD students, four post-doctoral research associates, and the supervision of 52 active PhD research projects. This broad academic involvement underlines the RSO's commitment to engaging with academia and delivering independent, evidence-based research to underpin the implementation of a UK Geological Disposal Facility (GDF).
Industry and Academia: A Winning Combination
Manchester's Bhattacharyya Award for Collaborative Excellence The RSO's collaborative efforts recently played a key role in the University of Manchester being honored with the prestigious Bhattacharyya Award. This accolade celebrates the most effective collaboration between academia and industry. The award not only recognizes the University's achievements but also highlights the RSO's dedication to fostering a symbiotic relationship between universities and the nuclear waste industry. This partnership is crucial in developing innovative solutions for managing radioactive waste and is a model for other sectors seeking to blend academic research with industrial application.   Harnessing UK's Research Capabilities Towards Safe Geological Disposal of Radioactive Waste The overarching aim of the conference was to spotlight the UK's vast academic research capabilities in the realm of geological disposal science and technology. The discussions and presentations focused on identifying and developing research that supports the safe geological disposal of the UK's higher-activity radioactive wastes. By bringing together the brightest minds in the field, the conference aimed to chart a course for future research that is both innovative and pragmatic, addressing the complex challenges of radioactive waste disposal.   Community Engagement in GDF A Responsible Approach to Nuclear Waste Disposal A key theme at the conference was NWS's responsibility in delivering a GDF, which includes meaningful engagement with communities to assess their suitability and willingness to host such a facility. The discussions emphasized that a GDF will only be constructed in locations with both a suitable site and a willing community. This approach underscores NWS's commitment to responsible and ethical waste management practices, ensuring that the communities' voices are heard and their concerns addressed.
Environmental Contribution of GDF
A Sustainable Solution for Long-term Waste Management One of the key messages from the conference was the significant environmental contribution that a GDF can make. By providing a sustainable solution for the disposal of nuclear waste, a GDF eliminates the need for long-term above-ground storage and maintenance, which spans thousands of years. This initiative is not just about managing waste; it's about protecting the environment for future generations, highlighting the crucial role of sustainable practices in long-term waste management. Co-creating climate futures with real-time data and spatial storytelling
New Post has been published on https://thedigitalinsider.com/co-creating-climate-futures-with-real-time-data-and-spatial-storytelling/
Co-creating climate futures with real-time data and spatial storytelling
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Virtual story worlds and game engines aren’t just for video games anymore. They are now tools for scientists and storytellers to digitally twin existing physical spaces and then turn them into vessels to dream up speculative climate stories and build collective designs of the future. That’s the theory and practice behind the MIT WORLDING initiative.
Twice this year, WORLDING matched world-class climate story teams working in XR (extended reality) with relevant labs and researchers across MIT. One global group returned for a virtual gathering online in partnership with Unity for Humanity, while another met for one weekend in person, hosted at the MIT Media Lab.
“We are witnessing the birth of an emergent field that fuses climate science, urban planning, real-time 3D engines, nonfiction storytelling, and speculative fiction, and it is all fueled by the urgency of the climate crises,” says Katerina Cizek, lead designer of the WORLDING initiative at the Co-Creation Studio of MIT Open Documentary Lab. “Interdisciplinary teams are forming and blossoming around the planet to collectively imagine and tell stories of healthy, livable worlds in virtual 3D spaces and then finding direct ways to translate that back to earth, literally.”
At this year’s virtual version of WORLDING, five multidisciplinary teams were selected from an open call. In a week-long series of research and development gatherings, the teams met with MIT scientists, staff, fellows, students, and graduates, as well as other leading figures in the field. Guests ranged from curators at film festivals such as Sundance and Venice, climate policy specialists, and award-winning media creators to software engineers and renowned Earth and atmosphere scientists. The teams heard from MIT scholars in diverse domains, including geomorphology, urban planning as acts of democracy, and climate researchers at MIT Media Lab.
Mapping climate data
“We are measuring the Earth’s environment in increasingly data-driven ways. Hundreds of terabytes of data are taken every day about our planet in order to study the Earth as a holistic system, so we can address key questions about global climate change,” explains Rachel Connolly, an MIT Media Lab research scientist focused in the “Future Worlds” research theme, in a talk to the group. “Why is this important for your work and storytelling in general? Having the capacity to understand and leverage this data is critical for those who wish to design for and successfully operate in the dynamic Earth environment.”
Making sense of billions of data points was a key theme during this year’s sessions. In another talk, Taylor Perron, an MIT professor of Earth, atmospheric and planetary sciences, shared how his team uses computational modeling combined with many other scientific processes to better understand how geology, climate, and life intertwine to shape the surfaces of Earth and other planets. His work resonated with one WORLDING team in particular, one aiming to digitally reconstruct the pre-Hispanic Lake Texcoco — where current day Mexico City is now situated — as a way to contrast and examine the region’s current water crisis.
Democratizing the future
While WORLDING approaches rely on rigorous science and the interrogation of large datasets, they are also founded on democratizing community-led approaches.
MIT Department of Urban Studies and Planning graduate Lafayette Cruise MCP ’19 met with the teams to discuss how he moved his own practice as a trained urban planner to include a futurist component involving participatory methods. “I felt we were asking the same limited questions in regards to the future we were wanting to produce. We’re very limited, very constrained, as to whose values and comforts are being centered. There are so many possibilities for how the future could be.”
Scaling to reach billions
This work scales from the very local to massive global populations. Climate policymakers are concerned with reaching billions of people in the line of fire. “We have a goal to reach 1 billion people with climate resilience solutions,” says Nidhi Upadhyaya, deputy director at Atlantic Council’s Adrienne Arsht-Rockefeller Foundation Resilience Center. To get that reach, Upadhyaya is turning to games. “There are 3.3 billion-plus people playing video games across the world. Half of these players are women. This industry is worth $300 billion. Africa is currently among the fastest-growing gaming markets in the world, and 55 percent of the global players are in the Asia Pacific region.” She reminded the group that this conversation is about policy and how formats of mass communication can be used for policymaking, bringing about change, changing behavior, and creating empathy within audiences.
Socially engaged game development is also connected to education at Unity Technologies, a game engine company. “We brought together our education and social impact work because we really see it as a critical flywheel for our business,” said Jessica Lindl, vice president and global head of social impact/education at Unity Technologies, in the opening talk of WORLDING. “We upscale about 900,000 students, in university and high school programs around the world, and about 800,000 adults who are actively learning and reskilling and upskilling in Unity. Ultimately resulting in our mission of the ‘world is a better place with more creators in it,’ millions of creators who reach billions of consumers — telling the world stories, and fostering a more inclusive, sustainable, and equitable world.”
Access to these technologies is key, especially the hardware. “Accessibility has been missing in XR,” explains Reginé Gilbert, who studies and teaches accessibility and disability in user experience design at New York University. “XR is being used in artificial intelligence, assistive technology, business, retail, communications, education, empathy, entertainment, recreation, events, gaming, health, rehabilitation meetings, navigation, therapy, training, video programming, virtual assistance wayfinding, and so many other uses. This is a fun fact for folks: 97.8 percent of the world hasn’t tried VR [virtual reality] yet, actually.”
Meanwhile, new hardware is on its way. The WORLDING group got early insights into the highly anticipated Apple Vision Pro headset, which promises to integrate many forms of XR and personal computing in one device. “They’re really pushing this kind of pass-through or mixed reality,” said Dan Miller, a Unity engineer on the poly spatial team, collaborating with Apple, who described the experience of the device as “You are viewing the real world. You’re pulling up windows, you’re interacting with content. It’s a kind of spatial computing device where you have multiple apps open, whether it’s your email client next to your messaging client with a 3D game in the middle. You’re interacting with all these things in the same space and at different times.”
“WORLDING combines our passion for social-impact storytelling and incredible innovative storytelling,” said Paisley Smith of the Unity for Humanity Program at Unity Technologies. She added, “This is an opportunity for creators to incubate their game-changing projects and connect with experts across climate, story, and technology.”
Meeting at MIT
In a new in-person iteration of WORLDING this year, organizers collaborated closely with Connolly at the MIT Media Lab to co-design an in-person weekend conference Oct. 25 – Nov. 7 with 45 scholars and professionals who visualize climate data at NASA, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, planetariums, and museums across the United States.
A participant said of the event, “An incredible workshop that had had a profound effect on my understanding of climate data storytelling and how to combine different components together for a more [holistic] solution.”
“With this gathering under our new Future Worlds banner,” says Dava Newman, director of the MIT Media Lab and Apollo Program Professor of Astronautics chair, “the Media Lab seeks to affect human behavior and help societies everywhere to improve life here on Earth and in worlds beyond, so that all — the sentient, natural, and cosmic — worlds may flourish.”
“WORLDING’s virtual-only component has been our biggest strength because it has enabled a true, international cohort to gather, build, and create together. But this year, an in-person version showed broader opportunities that spatial interactivity generates — informal Q&As, physical worksheets, and larger-scale ideation, all leading to deeper trust-building,” says WORLDING producer Srushti Kamat SM ’23.
The future and potential of WORLDING lies in the ongoing dialogue between the virtual and physical, both in the work itself and in the format of the workshops.

*Note: There are some regionalisms in here, and some have so many regionalisms I couldn’t include them on the list.
For instance, “to take a test” has so many regionalisms it’s difficult to list them all. In Mexico you’re probably going to hear presentar un examen. Some places will say hacer un examen, some even put it as el maestro / la maestra pone un examen a los estudiantes.
The default way of saying “to take a test” is dar un examen which is literally “to give an exam”, because you hand a test in to your teacher. Along the same lines, the default way a teacher “gives a test” is tomar un examen because they “take” the tests that the students turn in. For that reason, dar un examen is often translated as “to sit for an exam” to help the meaning come across more easily.

4000 Yen
University days were wild when I went, so here is a short about collegiate!Miya Atsumu & dorm-neighbor!reader. This was loosely inspired by a date auction re-run episode of Night Court. This is a SFW title. [[Might make a NSFW one later during a revisit.]]
Pairing: college!MiyaAtsumu x dorm-neighbor!reader
Word Count: 1.9K
Rating: 17+ due to one [or several] use of the word "fuck"
Tumblr media
that dork has this smile whenever something goes his way & you can't pry that away from me...it's infectious as all hell...
+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+
There were many reasons why one would come to your college campus during your club’s annual fundraiser. Aside from the food and the networking opportunities for future careers, this year, in order to raise club funding for a trip to a geological (and paleontological) field trip out of the country, a not-so-silent auction for a date with the club’s “beauties” had been scheduled. Somehow, word breaks out among the student population more so in your own department when your close friend (and neighbor) asks you if it were true one day. You remember pinching the bridge of your nose and sighing exaspertatedly confirming the rumor. This was also how you found yourself with your friend’s emergency money to “bail her out” if the creepy guy from accounting 101 was about to win a date with her. Unbeknownst to you, your name is added to the roster for potential date candidates since the club needed two or three volunteers. For what it’s worth, this is how you manage to catch the eye of one of the top volleyball players on campus.
The night of the auction arrives and the rented out ballroom is filled with anonymous donors to the department as well as a few professors with their colleagues. Several students who genuinely bought a ticket to come to the auction or rather try to score last minute brownie points before midterm grades were posted were also in attendance. Truthfully, there was a spike in interest with the geology and paleontology club since many docu-series were posted on streaming sites about volcanos alongside other discoveries about ancient animals. Hence this night was co-sponsored by the national museum of natural history. You were dressed in the cocktail code for the event, a set of burgundy business trousers, moss green boots, and a sky blue blouse. Regardless, you seemed to have been joined by your friend who had recruited you to come to the event on such short notice when speaking with a few other students. About ten minutes go by before the presidents of both clubs make their way to the center of the mini-stage turned runway to signal the beginning of the date auction. Some fun facts about the clubs’ prominent beauties were said as they began to “strut their stuff” as your friend put it before the final gavel hit the podium. Luckily, when it was your friend’s turn, she was able to raise close to 900 yen (and you didn’t have to use her emergency money) all thanks to one of the early education majors bidding on her.
“Thank you for your lovely donation,” the host says as the applause dies down a little.
Backstage, your friend is jittery–she’s been crushing on the guy who literally gets to go on a date with her for almost a month.
“Told you that dress would catch his attention, Usa-chan” you chuckle.
She punches your arm.
“Just because I like him doesn’t mean that I–oh! Who am I kidding! He’s fione-as-hell,” her laugh is full of vigor. “I can’t believe an education major literally out bid that fraternity brother from comp-sci.”
One of the e-board members taps your shoulders reminding you it’s your turn next.
“Wish me luck,” you whisper to her before walking down the stage.
“Next up is a dear friend to the club,” the other co-host president says the moment you begin to take your first step. “This is YN-san. Majoring in nautical archeology…” Then you hear a muffled, ‘wow, really?’ behind you, but you pay it no mind.
“Ugh, ahem,” the voice over continues. “Was captain of their high school’s swim team and is an avid lover and collector of westernized comic books. This young beaut can be found wandering the beaches off campus in their spare time or in the graphic novel sections of your favorite book/cat cafe. We’ll start the bid as usual at 750 yen.”
You smile your best smile. Your cheeks nervously hurt from smiling for what seemed like twenty minutes, but in actuality it was more like two and a half. Worried that no one was about to open the floor for bidding, you hear a voice from stage left:
“4000 yen.”
Squinting, you see a hand shoot straight in the air when said voice was asked to repeat their opening bid.
“I bid 4000 yen fer YN-san,” the voice says again.
Your blood runs cold in your veins and it’s not because of the amount nor is it caused by the murmurs of ‘wows’ from the audience either. No, it’s because you know only one person in the last couple of years at this university would speak like that. Then it strikes you as lighting on a cloudy day: your neighbor, the talented student athlete on scholarship here, had mentioned he was starting a part-time job with a v. league team. Said team must have been paying their interns well because damn who has money like to spend and is a student. A flash of blonde hair is seen making his way to the very front to witness your shocked-expression, a teasing grin on his face.
Damn your neighbor for looking sexier than a mug with his all black ensemble for this event. Damn that smile on his stupidly sculpted face. Damn that light near his face illuminating his mischievous cinnamon graham cracker eyes.
You mouth a genuine, “What the fuck dude?” to him and he shoves his hands in his pockets, biting back a nonchalant “what?” back to you.
“4000 yen for a date with YN-san,” the host says. “Alright. Do I hear 4025 yen?”
Silence.
God, you wish you could pass away right now because currently, in the theater of your mind, the dawning of the last couple of weeks replays in your head. It starts with the way he knocks on your door panicking about what to wear to the virtual interview; he drags you into his own dorm to put on a mini fashion show for you as you sit on the ledge of his bed. Then there was the evening after the interview a couple days later where you treat him to ice cream since he confirms he has an in person interview the following week. What you didn’t know was that the in-person interview was an actual try out. After that, there were talks where you two huddled together side by side in your kitchen where you both collectively took a break from studying to make some late night dinner. The domesticity of being side by side with him made the smallest wings of a hummingbird flutter in your chest, yet at the time, you must’ve failed to notice how said neighbor decided to fall effortlessly in-like with you.
The swing of the gavel startles you and you wave thank you to the audience as the next person gives you a high-five.
As you return backstage, your friend gawks at you right before the teasing comments begin.
“Who bet on you?” Usa-san says with a knowing glint in her bright eyes.
You are still in a daze when you shake your head like an etch-n-sketch.
“Miya,” you answer, a little in a dreamlike state.
She grips your shoulders and shakes the life back into you since you almost fell backwards.
“Miya? As in Miya Atsumu, your hawt neighbor?!”
You nod.
Usa laughs.
“Bloody bastard won’t confess but he comes to the auction in hopes of scoring a date with you a-and he won, huh?”
“Yep.”
Usa lets out another short-lasting laugh.
“Well, at least this date with you is a start.”
You laugh nodding along.
“Y-yeah, I suppose it is.”
An hour later, when the event is wrapping up, you assist in the clean-up. Scattered champagne glasses and hordevours napkins litter the high top tables, yet it doesn’t take very long for the trash to be gathered. Luckily for all members who signed up for the clean up team, the third shift janitors for this part of the conference center showed up half an hour into the cleaning to take over. Outside of the entrance, your neighbor waits for you since he did not want you to walk home alone this late at night. He was on the phone, texting his brother and new teammates about the outcome of the auction. He smiles when a series of thumbs up emojis were being received; he mentions he has to leave the chat for now when you step outside. You say your goodbyes to the members of the clean-up team you were with, expressing how much fun it was and how you wouldn’t mind being invited back later on for similar events.
And then there were two. You turn your attention toward your neighbor and he braces himself for an assault of words. Rather, you do the opposite as you walk side by side with him across the courtyard of campus heading back to the student dorms. The wind rustles the leaves of the trees surrounding the entrance of your building.
“I suppose I should say thank you,” you break the silence when you reach your door.
Atsumu stands outside his door too. You both have your keys in your hands, however you glance between the doorknob and him.
“Want to come over ‘Tsum?” you feel bold. Very bold in terms of the choice of words you say. The shortened version of his name has his head reeling in flustered movements. He blinks back between you and his hand with the keys in his hands. Atsumu immediately puts them away, before taking the two steps (if that) to stand behind you; you could feel his breath fan across the nape of your neck. He whispers something along the lines of, “Eager to start this date now angel?”
The key unlocks your door’s deadbolt and you feel a pair of strong hands rest against either side of your waist. He closes the door behind you and you leave your keys against the bowl in the end table by the entrance to your place. Before you know it, when you turn your attention back to said neighbor who now wears a similar playful look on his face as yours, he reminds you have yet to answer his question.
Standing up on your tiptoes as an attempt to match his height, your hands are no longer at your sides: they are moved to the collar of his ebony dress shirt. The one you suggested he wore to the virtual interview; it’s the same one he models for you and you tell him to be careful since he might tear it if he flexed too hard (he laughs, teasing you about how maybe he should just as an excuse for you to see him half naked in his room) since he gained a few more defining muscles underneath the shirt.
Currently, Atsumu moves his hands to your waist to bring you chest to chest now. This space, or lack thereof, is charged with daring pointed eyebrows and silent confessions pour out through your fingertips. With your breath dancing in a teasing tango across his upper lip, do you know how maddening it is to have you stand this close to him?
No, obviously you don't, especially when your lips brush against his when your soft “Yes,” allows him to follow through with the first step of his plan to make his feelings known.
The date begins the instant you kiss him soundly on the mouth; the answer to all those what-ifs that may have still been floating in both of your heads subside in the urgent manner in which Atsumu returns your kiss tenfold because now, now it feels like your love story just began.

“Jesus.”
The dossier is just an information sheet; no photo ID, no news articles beyond text component pieces, but it is a thick stack of correspondence and case consultations that S.S.A Aaron Hotchner holds in his hands.
“Five Ph.D.’s and eight separate M.A.’s in fourteen years? What was he doing before that?”
“Who knows? You don’t earn a Ph.D. overnight, even if his accommodation sheet makes ‘em look like they pop up like mushrooms,” Mark Anderson says, audibly tired through the phone speaker on his desk. He was one of the Unit Chief's from the teams at the FBI L.A. field office, who’s phone number was given to him by an old friend, Sam Cooper -- another BAU team leader. Hotch had hit dead end after dead end on this case, and sitting at his desk in Quantico, Virginia, he looks down at the recommended consultant’s extensive list of degrees and teaching positions with a building headache behind his dark eyes. He wasn’t a fan of Anderson, or his briskness, but at this point he’d take anything he could get. “I’m pretty sure that man has never lived outside an academic field. He’s a handful, runs my agents up the damn wall, but he knows his stuff.”
“I hope so. I’ve been on the phone the past three days trying to find someone with a background in Obscure Cognitive Linguistics,” Hotch reads from a separate file, filled with violent images and depraved acts described in morbid detail. “Our unsub sites a very particular thesis about a Study of Language from a Cognitive and Developmental Law, and I keep getting sent to experts in adjacent fields. I don’t see anything in this Dr. Reid’s background about language.”
“Oh, trust me, Hotch -- you’ll get more than you bargained for. This is your guy. He’s basically an expert on everything, and if he doesn’t know anything about languages I’ll eat my tie. He never shuts up.”
Frowning at the speaker phone, Hotch keeps his comments to himself. He’s sure that Anderson probably doesn’t appreciate having an old professor puttering around the field office, but that didn’t mean he had to insult the man. Especially when he was there as a consultant.
“Okay, fine. Thank you. I’ll give him a call now-”
“Oh, you don’t want to do that. Just send him an email. Trust me.” Anderson all but groans like a petulant child. Graining on Hotch’s nerves excruciatingly.
“I’m sure he’s busy enough with his students, he doesn’t need to be fielding emails from the FBI,” Hotch hedged, still frowning.
“Not too busy to write you a dissertation in reply, I’m sure, but you’ll at least get the answers you need. You could be on the phone with him a half hour before you get to what you called about. Hopefully it won’t take you too long to sift through.”
Alright, now he is done listening to the other agent.
“Right. Thanks, Mark.”
“Anyti-” Hotch hangs up on him before the man could make any other remarks. His patience is non-existent after the past week and this extremely brutal case that only seems to compound exponentially in it’s viciousness with each passing day. If Anderson felt like being an asshole to some old man with nothing better to do than rack up Ph.D.’s, he could do it on his own time. Hotch needed help, and this man seemed to be the only person around who might be able to finally do so.
Dr. Reid’s office number is in front of him, as well as about three different lab location phone numbers, and one email address connected to the school faculty. He considers for a moment just ignoring Anderson’s advice and calling the old professor, but he has a meeting with his Department Chief, Strauss, in twenty minutes and the team would be arriving from canvasing the dumpsites soon.
So with a suffering sigh, Hotch pulls up a new email (for what feels like the millionth time for this case) and composes a standard correspondence introduction. Who he is, credentials, case numbers and specifics as far as clearance rates for civilians go, and then finally the questions he needs answered. There is something about this particular thesis that has to be very tongue in cheek to the unsub, saying something that isn’t really there, and this could just be another dead end -- but if it led to them saving a victim from becoming another dead body, he is willing to give it one last try.
Thank you for your time,  S.S.A. Aaron Hotchner Unit Chief, Behavioral Analysis Unit, FBI Quantico, VA.
Then he hits send, and leaves the response up to the universe.
-
The team came up with nothing fruitful. Strauss proceeded to ream Hotch six ways from Sunday for wasting valuable bureau resources and coming up with zero results. His day was spinning down the drain in a hellish cyclone when he sits down behind his desk in his office an hour after leaving it. Case files still piled to one side, grotesque photos stacked within them, and Aaron Hotchner wants nothing more than for them to disappear. For the case to be solved and to be able to go home to his son and his quiet house. But there was no break in sight, no new information, nothing.
Except a new email in his inbox.
Agent Hotchner,
I know that thesis paper well. I can help you.
All air seems to have been sucked from the room as Hotch reads the words a couple of times, not quite comprehending after the morning he has had that someone wasn’t giving him more bad news. That this Dr. Reid said he could help him.
A single click of the email opens up the correspondence reply, and the agent is met with a giant wall of text. Scrolling down for pages, and a quick skim of the material shows such a complex, comprehensive amount of information that there is no way it’s just copy and pasted from any one source. Or even several. It’s a long email spanning a vast number of pages, covering every topic he had asked about (and then some).
The thesis paper, the tongue-in-cheek citation from the unsub, how this killer is acting like he’s being clever when it’s really ‘very obvious what he’s doing, as long as you know the paper’ and detailed links and quotations and references to locations and side tangents on items mentioned that could be evidence to look for or weapons of choice, and so much else Hotch’s head feels like it’s spinning. Like reading the cliffnotes of a complex spy novel, with all the spoilers in one place.
It takes him half an hour to read through everything Dr. Reid sent, meaning the professor had to have been typing a million words a minute from the moment Hotch had emailed him to get everything replied so quickly, and Hotch was baffled to realize that an old man with a handful of Ph.D.’s and no FBI training just solved his case.
Not a figment of speech.
Dr. Reid just solved the case, without even holding the file in his hands.
Hotch is dialing a phone number on his speed dial without even looking away from the screen.
“Garcia? Call the team into the briefing room, and phone SWAT to mobilize. We’re going down to the riverfront in thirty minutes.”
“--Wait, what are you talking about? Did you figure out the unsub’s code?”
Not me, Aaron thought to himself, standing up and printing Dr. Reid’s email after forwarding it to the entire team and their tech analyst, Penelope Garcia. He didn’t have time to explain it that many times, and the amount of information in that single email would be enough to send any of them tumbling heels over head. But it solved every aspect of their case. Hook, line, and sinker.
And the clock was ticking.
“Now, Garcia.”
He rushes from the room with the stack of files in his hands and his laptop open to Dr. Reid’s email. Not even thinking to thank the man for his help as he heads across the bullpen with profound determination.
They have work to do.
-
They catch the unsub that very day.
Quick, efficient, completely by surprise. They saved Amanda Sutton and another girl they hadn’t even known was missing. No one died. None of his team was hurt. The unsub hadn’t confessed, but Rossi and Morgan had played him like a fiddle in interrogation and now all of his team members were walking to the elevators leaving for a long weekend where they wouldn’t have to worry about serial killers or another dead soul on their conscience. Today was a win. As close to a win as they ever can get, in their line of work.
And it isn’t until he’s back at his desk, the hours ticking into the night, that he opens up his email and there in his inbox is the very reply that started everything. Dr. Spencer Reid. CalTech Department Head. Professor of everything under the sun. Expert on anything, even the obscure.
The reason Hotch will get to spend the weekend with his son, without the overbearing aftershocks of a case gone so horribly bad plaguing him.
His hands are moving before he can stop them. Opening up the email, typing out a response to Dr. Reid thanking him for his help. Relaying what happened, detail by detail much in the same fashion he had completed the paperwork piled on his desk. Letting him know that his information really did end up helping them. All of it. Even the side tangents.
I don’t know how I can ever thank you for the extensive consideration you gave this case, or how to explain how it solved it so seamlessly, but your time and effort does not go unnoticed by me.
Okay, so maybe he fluffs it up a bit more than the dreadful bullet-point list descriptions required by the Deputy Chief and the Director and SWAT Team justification reports. Just so it doesn’t look so inadequate in comparison to the man’s thesis-paper-length email he sent to aide Hotch and his team. The passion he has for his work leaps off the page, but it was a lot -- and if the old man put that much dedication into a basic FBI correspondence email, then he was probably used to it being a thankless effort.
Hotch sends the reply, and continues with his work. He always takes a bulk of the paperwork, so his team can go home and rest and recharge. He needs them at their best for each case, and if that means he spends a couple hours longer after when they finish a case, it is worth every minute. But this time, once he finishes, he gets to take the coveted time off as well.
It’s as he’s finishing up, everything stacked neatly and ready to be dropped at records, in the mailroom, Strauss’s office, the director’s, and he’s about to log off his laptop that he sees a surprise -- Dr. Reid replied to him, again.
It’s much more brief this time.
Agent Hotchner,
I’m so glad I was able to help you.
You are one of the only agents to reach out and tell me how the case went after my consultation, and I’m very grateful to know that my information actually helped your team catch the killer. I know I tend to spout facts at random, but I do have methods to my madness and it’s such a nice change to correspond with someone who understands that.
My services are always at your disposal. Anytime. Whatever I can do to help.
Sincerely, Dr. Spencer Reid
Hotch types out a brief reply. Thanking him for his offer, for lending him his expertise, and letting him know in not so many words --
I’ll have to take you up on that.
He’d be a fool not to. Someone with that much knowledge and the ability to connect it all in the way Dr. Reid had in the span of an hour? He could be a real asset to the BAU, as a permanent consultant, even through email correspondence.
He sends the reply just as he stands to leave. Turning off his office light, and his chest feels lighter for the interaction. For giving the professor that sense of assurance that what he had to say did in fact do some real good. Hotch even finds himself smiling softly, sadly, that he has also found a little bit of solace in helping another lonely old man across the country find a sense of purpose that night. Who was working late, as well, despite it being the end of the week. Speaking to not much waiting for him back at home, in whatever shape ‘home’ takes for the man. But Hotch can relate to that, too. Jack is at Jessica’s until the morning, and there is nothing at his apartment to greet him but silence and bare walls and memories he’d rather not dote on. Maybe this Dr. Spencer Reid is in a similar boat, finding comfort in his work when he can. He certainly seems to, with the amount of time he’s poured into his doctorates and degrees. In the number of departments he runs and monitors.
Hotch can’t help but feel a connection, a companionship between empty offices. Thousands of miles apart, but maybe -- possibly -- at least similar in that aspect.
Not so alone, even if only for a brief moment.

Mandatory High School AU That No One (Except Daniela Dimitrescu) Asked For (Part 1)
Summary: Donna has a crush on the beautiful, strong, and tall Chris Redfield but she is just your average (somewhat clumsy) teenage girl. How can she possibly be any match for the gorgeous Miranda? Luckily she has friends like Alcina, Karl, and Salvatore to help her achieve her dreams!
“You’re too old for these.” Miranda chuckles.
Donna grits her teeth and reaches for Angie.
“Aww, give it back, Miranda. You know that she has no other friends!” Claire chuckles.
Her lower lip quivers. Why did Miranda have to take Angie? Any of her other dolls would have been tolerable but not Angie. She reaches out again and mumbles, “give her back.” It is about as useless as telling Karl to put out his joint and actually attend classes for once. She knows that he would rather smoke his days away listening to Metallica and Mötley Crüe in the boys bathroom.
She remembers him mentioning, ‘Smoking in the Boys Room’. She very vividly recalls a night when they had sat upon the soccer field. It was a summer afternoon, the summer before her freshman year. She remembers Alcina smiling as she tossed a frisbee to Moreau. He hadn’t been paying attention though so it hit him in the face. Back in those days, it didn’t matter though, nobody laughed at you for falling over or being clumsy--a problem Donna has frequently; she is very clumsy and, of course, very average looking. Just an ordinary girl. She remembers that on that very warm and unforgettable--really it was as plain as she--summer afternoon that Karl had looked off into the sunset, “it’s like this song was made for Smoking in the Boys Room.”  A warm breeze stirred his hair.
She had nodded in agreement and she too looked off into the sunset. Those were simpler times. Much simpler.
Perhaps if she weren’t so presently distressed she might have wondered why the sun was setting in the afternoon. But she is no scientist. She is just Donna, plain, boring Donna. With her unremarkable face. Maybe Chris would notice her if she looked more like Miranda with her flawless skin and her perfect tan and a perfect mane of blonde hair that fanned out like blonde hair shimmering under the sun.
“Hey, what do you think your brother will think of Angie?” Miranda quirks a brow. She gives her perfectly styled bangs a flick. She lazily tosses Angie to Claire without looking in her direction. Claire fumbles, just barely clutching onto Angie’s dress and Donna’s heart skips a beat.
Claire pinches Angie’s little hands between her pointers and thumbs. “I don’t know but I think it’s creepy. Chris isn’t into weirdo goth chicks.”
“I’m not…”
“You’re right, he so totally isn’t.”
Donna sighs, she hopes Chris doesn’t think that she is a weirdo, she has only been crushing on him since the third grade and that was when he was still shoving crayons up people’s noses with Ethan. She remembers when he was nice but then he got hot and joined the football team and everything changed. Suddenly he no longer wanted to eat glue with Moreau. Now everything is football, football, and sneaking into college parties so he could talk to Jill Valentine.
“College girls, ya know?” He says to his friends. “One time I dated a college girl, she said she was studying beer pong. That’s what I’m going to major in.”
Donna is a little more ambitious, she would like to double major in art design and theater and minor in geology.
“Seriously, give Angie back.” She whimpers.
Miranda throws her head back and laughs, “not a chance…~loooser~!”
Donna feels her heart breaking, she doesn’t know what she will do without Angie.
“This thing is ratty junk.” Claire declaires.
“Angie is not junk!” Donna gets to her feet. She thinks that this is the first time that she has ever spoken up for herself. But it doesn’t last, her spunk dies away as soon as Miranda takes a step forward.
“If she’s not junk then…” Mirinda quirks a brow and hovers Angie over the garbage can. “Why is she in the trash?”
Donna gulps. Just when she thinks that Angie is done for, the garbage can collides with Miranda. Donna catches Angie before she can meet the floor. The same cannot be said for Miranda who is well on her way to the very other end of the hallway.
“Alcina!” Donna perks up.
The woman stands boldly, with her hands on her hips, within the rays of sunlight streaming through the window. She extends her long arm and Donna takes her hand. Her skin glitters in the light of the sun. Donna’s eyes light up, Alcina is glittering all over. “You’re sparkling.” Donna comments. Of course it is only natural for a vampire to gleam.
Alcina rubs the back of her head, “yeah...art class.”
“Oh.”
“What do you mean oh?”
“I just thought...never mind.” She isn’t sure why she thought that vampires sparkled. “Thanks for saving Angie.”
Alcina nods. “Anytime.”
"How dare you!?" Claire asks.
Alcina pulls a basketball out of the void and chucks it at Claire. The girl yelps and scowls. "Just wait until I…"
Alcina retrieves the basketball and chucks it a second time. This time Claire scoffs and stomps away. Alcina picks up her basketball once more.
“Aren’t you worried that principal Nemesis is going to find out about this?” Donna shudders.
“I’m not worried about him. He likes me.”
Everyone likes Alcina, she is the school’s straight A student, basketball champion who also sings opera in the school choir and single handedly stacked every single chair after last year’s graduation assembly. Donna doesn’t know one thing that Alcina can’t do.
Donna hugs Angie to her chest, she doesn’t know why Alcina is bothering with such an average, run of the mill, super plain, and also a little clumsy person like her. “I don’t know why you’re bothering with such an average, run of the mill, super plain, and also a little clumsy person like me.” She says.
“You are adorable.” She pats Donna’s head. “Very small, very quiet. It is nice. Everyone else here is…” She glances around the hallway. One look reveals Karl shoving Moreau into his locker as he strums Baby Shark on his guitar, Ada Wong riding her skateboard straight into Leon who is drawing a penis on Ethan’s forehead as he tries to win his chess match, and Chris punching a boulder to block the entrance to the boy’s room.
“I hate it here.” Alcina grumbles. “I should have went to that nice Catholic school that Mother Miranda picked out for me.”
In all of her years of attending Umbrella High, she still hasn’t been able to figure that one out. She is certain that Miranda, Alcina’s ultra strict and controlling mother and the school mean girl are the same person existing simultaneously, the same entity yet separate at the very same time.
It doesn’t matter; neither version of her is likeable. But at least Mean Girl Miranda doesn’t hold up ‘God hates Ethan Winters specifically’ signs and host Kool Aid testing parties every Sunday evening. It must be embarrassing for Alcina to know that her mother attends vaccination protests every Saturday--it dawns upon Donna that Alcina has probably contracted her ‘hereditary’ blood disease because Mother Mirada doesn’t allow her to get vaccinated.
“I’m sorry.”
“For what, Donna?”
“Your life. I would be devastated if my mom dedicated a whole day of the week to antagonize one specific person for no reason.”
“Oh, it isn’t just one person.” Alcina laughs. “She goes to Hobby Lobby every Tuesday to complain that the fabrics aren’t pre-assembled in her dress size.”  Having realized that it has no more use in this chapter, the basketball finally fades out of existence.
"That must be embarrassing."
Alcina shrugs. "What class were you heading to?"
"Lunch class."
"Wonderful. I for one can't wait for lunch, I heard that they're finally serving Jill Sandwich again. I'll walk you to the cafeteria."
Donna shakes her head, "Lunch class, not lunch. I forgot how to eat."
"Ah, okay." Alcina nods. "I will escort you to lunch class."

Party With the Rock Stars
Tumblr media
Author/creator: hutchhitched Square filled and prompt: O2, holiday party Title: Party With the Rock Stars Rating: G Summary: Geology is a valid major. Word count: 808 Author’s/Creator’s notes: Holiday parties never went this way for me.
“I hate holiday parties,” Katniss grumbled.
“Oh, come on,” her friend Johanna replied. “You don’t really mean that. You’re one of those people who says they don’t like stuff but are privately really sappy and love all of the fuss and fluff. I, on the other hand, really do hate holiday parties. I’m heartless and hard and grouchy for good reason.”
Katniss stared at Johanna for a split second before asking, “And?”
“And… If I hate them and am still looking forward to this mess, then you need to get the hell on board and suck it up. Besides, the hotties from the geology department are joining us, and that’s cause for celebration no matter the season.”
Katniss sighed and decided it wouldn’t do any good to grouse. She didn’t really have a choice. She had stupidly volunteered to attend the multi-department party for all science majors at the small, private college she attended. The University of Panem was well-known for rigorous academics and an excellent biology program in which she and Jo were enrolled. While it made absolutely no sense, the biology and geology departments maintained a long-time rivalry that resulted in senseless competitions. It was a sense of pride for as many students as possible to attend the joint holiday party and win the prize for perfect attendance. Katniss thought it was stupid, but she didn’t really have a good reason to refuse. Besides, free food for poor college students meant the place would be crawling with her fellow undergrads soon enough.
She had just posted up next to the refreshments when a handful of guys walked into the room. Johanna wolf-whistled, which made Katniss want to hide under the table, but that didn’t stop the group from making their way over and saying hello.
“Well, hello, boys,” Johanna practically purred. “What a fine addition you’ve made to this party.”
A stunningly gorgeous human smiled at Johanna and tugged her into a hug before turning to Katniss and winking. “The name’s Finnick. I’ve known Jo since we went to competing high schools. As much of a pain in the ass as she is, I’m really glad we ended up at UP together. And I see she’s ruined your life, too.”
“Katniss,” she managed to mumble in response. “Nice to meet you.”
Finnick took her hand and raised it to his lips. Bewildered, Katniss watched as he kissed it and then let it drop. Who did that nowadays, and who was this character who seemed to live in the past with his over-the-top romantic gestures and stunningly classic good looks?
“A lovely name for a lovely woman,” he said.
“I’m named after a potato,” she blurted, unsure why she couldn’t just cut out her tongue and never speak again. Her face had to be bright red, but Finnick was gallant or apathetic enough to refrain from comment. He merely quirked an eyebrow at her.
“Indeed.” Then turned to his friends. “Jo, Katniss, let me introduce you to my crew, the stars of the geology department, the glory of—”
“Finn. Cut it out,” Johanna snapped, and Finnick grinned at her.
“I get carried away,” he offered in explanation and motioned to the men around him. “These fine gentlemen are Boggs, Jackson, Gale, Mitchell, and Peeta. Besides me, they’re the all-stars of our department. Forgive me for saying so, but we’re the Rock Stars.”
Katniss couldn’t help it. She rolled her eyes and chuckled. “Rock Stars? Seriously? That’s so dorky.”
 “Says the biologist,” Gale scoffed.
Johanna laughed dryly. “Oh, I like this one. Gale, was it? I think you and I should get to know each other a little better.”
Katniss gaped as her friend left her alone. She hadn’t even wanted to come to this thing, and now she had to fend off random rock nerds for the next two hours. Except she realized she wasn’t surrounded anymore. Finnick was working his way through the crowd to embrace a woman with gorgeous copper hair, and the others had scattered. All of them except the stocky one with ashy blonde curls and clear blue eyes. He holds out his hand to shake hers, and she decided he must be the nice one of the group.
“Peeta Mellark,” he said, repeating his name for her. “If it makes you feel any better, I think the Rock Star thing is a little ridiculous, too.”
Echoing her friend, Katniss offered a shy smile and replied, “I think you and I should get to know each other a little better.”
A wide grin spread over his handsome face, and he agreed.
“I was hoping you’d say that.”
It turned out that Katniss didn’t hate the holiday party after that, especially when Peeta asked her to leave early and have dinner with him. She didn’t hesitate at all to answer in the affirmative.

High school Gaang AUs:
Aang - Kid who's just here to chill, but also a mad genius. Friends with all the teachers, skips class to hang with the principal even though that grates on his sensibilities. Starts and finds a way to maintain the Vegan Club, and protests climate change every Friday (his friends join him). He's the guy who gets the school to ban plastic waterbottles. Also finds his niche as the guy who does Model United Nations and finds a way to moderate every conference.
Sokka - The engineering kid and president of the student body by senior year. Loves giving speeches to the school board on the state of buildings. Popular, but because he's so aggressively chill. Shows up to the science fair with a project that's incredibly creative, but never wins. Runs the robotics team like a madman.
Zuko - Kid who hates the world, but also is terribly good at fencing and parkour, so everyone is slightly scared of him. Likes habiting the skate park and never talks in class. Tries to do some business competitions and ends up surprisingly good at them, although he hates giving pitches. Terrible at STEM.
Katara - President of the student health association and a swimmer. Is taking all weighted classes while also doing an intensive internship at the local hospital and working as a barista. Always too tired for everything, but manages to pull herself and her friends through all-nighters.
Toph - The sports kid and the nats champion wrestler. Everyone on campus is terrified of her, but they also greatly respect her for putting them on the map. Obsessed with geology and throws rocks at people and climbs school buildings and ends up in detention. Despite all of it, she's still taking every earth science class the school has to offer, and graduates early.
Suki - A high-degree black-belt who also plays soccer and chills with Zuko at the skate park. The leader of a group of girls who go around and beats the shit out of any bullies they see. Still popular and captains a debate event. She and Sokka are the school's power couple.

Alright, new headcanon blog! I love these! Alright, so, here's a shot in the dark: What job or career path(s) do you think everyone would take? Or volunteer work even. Please and thankies, and I can't wait to see what new material you come up with!
Thank you for stopping by! I really appreciate it ❤❤❤
Career Paths/ Volunteer Work
Sans: It could go two ways for this big brained dude, he would either be in the teaching field, or the scientific field. I feel like he'd only do it related to either astronomy or geology (keeping that pet rock has it's uses). But I do feel that ultimately, he might lean more towards teaching, there's just something about spreading knowledge that pushes him. He also gets to learn new things as well, everyday, which is a bonus for him!
Papyrus: Papyrus really loves doing humanitarian work but he also loves a fun and conducive environment. I can see him being a kindergarten teacher because he works the best with kids, they're all curious little things, and he loves their enthusiasm for even the smallest things possible. Besides that, he would be a firefighter, he is absolutely fearless and with his stature and his energy, he's equipped for even the most difficult tasks. (Also, it'll result in really buff Paps-)
Blue: Believe it or not, he'd do something that's heavy in marketing. Blue knows he's charismatic, and that charm can go over well when used properly, and boy does he make sure to do that. He would also be a good motivational speaker, he's got a silver tongue and knows how to lace and etch his words into people and monsters minds alike.
Stretch: Stretch gets stressed out easily, so he prefers an environment that's calm and not chaotic. He would be a beekeeper, it's calm and he only has to deal with the bees and distribute their honey, it ain't much and he likes it that way. He also prefers working with animals as he feels like he connects better to them on emotional level as he just can't bring himself to trust other humans/monsters besides his own brother.
Red: Red loves to get into the tiniest detail of things, it's one of his ways to cope and he ended up sticking with it. He likes to take stuff apart and see what makes them tick, how they function and what improvements could be done if there are any. It's why I feel like he might get himself into engineering. The process of tinkering and fixing something not only keeps him calm and has his mind focused on something, but he also feels useful, that he can fix something instead of damaging further.
Edge: One of the things that have stuck with Edge after coming onto the surface was his love for cooking. Overtime, he does accept the fact that his food is not.. Up to par for human consumption. He does make the effort to learn, despite not liking the criticism. Eventually, he starts small, selling food at events like weddings and parties but with enough money, he does open his own restaurant. (His lasagna and penne ala vodka are to die for)
Black: Because of the fact that he's so factual and loves to have the upper hand, he would most likely be a lawyer. He's very hard headed and doesn't give in easily, and with his loud, booming voice full of confidence, it's impossible for him to not win the case.
Rus: He doesn't like staying in one place, he loves traveling so much. He also adores getting memorable photos of beautiful places with little to no effort, he has an absolute talent for photography. But he may also be involved with touring and being in bands, more as a guitarist or drummer rather than taking center stage because he's just not that confident. The adrenaline of it and hearing the loud tunes blasting really gets him going.
Wine: He doesn't really work after reaching the surface, after all, the gold he has is enough to last him and his brother for several lifetimes. Though if he was inclined to do so, he might have a winery of only the finest kind, or maybe he'd have a boutique. He does love making dresses and he makes sure that he's quality is one of a kind that even name brands envy him.
Coffee: Now, Coffee initially decided to take it easy and lay back, enjoying the leisure time of doing absolutely nothing. But then.. He got bored, and he had wanted to do something, he had wanted to do it for himself, to be more exact. So he got a job at a pet shelter, like Stretch, he feels more comfortable around the presence of animals, especially those that are rather skittish and afraid due to being placed in terrible homes.
Thistle: When he heard the concept of gardening, he got very excited about it. The ability to grow an abundance of foods and to also bring life to something and watch it flourish before his eye had just effected him so personally that he couldn't see himself doing anything else other than that. All his notes are filled with info for each fruit/plant available, growing a rich vegetable garden and everyone had flocked to buy it from them, making his job a whole lot easier.
Chestnut: He decided to follow a similar route to his brother, but instead of vegetables, Chestnut had decided to go with a botanical garden. He couldn't help but admire how some flowers would end up surviving even in the harshest climates, along with the fact that he just enjoys learning the meanings that each of them have. He also enjoys being outside, sitting in the bright sunlight as he planted a new seed into the ground, there was a serenity to it that he can't quite place a finger on, but it made him fulfilled.
As for volunteering, all of the skeletons would do it every now and then, but the ones who do it the most are Papyrus, Blue, Stretch, Rus, Thistle and Chestnut. Papyrus also tends to bring his students along to show that kindness goes a long way, Blue does it while also making an effort to encourage others to join more in volunteering. Meanwhile, Rus, Stretch, Thistle and Chestnut tend to help out the homeless, Rus taking photographs and making sure all the proceeds go to charities while the other three donate food that they've harvested.
