A = Affection (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?)

George cares for you very much. He asks if you ate and if you didn’t, he cooks you a nice homecooked meal. If you had a bad day, he always finds a way to cheer you up. He has this almost motherly affection you adore.

B = Best friend (What would they be like as a best friend? How would the friendship start?)

He is the friend that agrees to do anything just to spend time together. Bowling? Okay. Trying new recipes? Sure! Going skydiving? That’s where he might decline you hahah

C = Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)

He does. He likes to be held, to be hugged. He loves when you play with his hair or when you hug him from behind hehe.

D = Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?)

Eventually, yes. But it takes time, of course because it’s not a one-minute decision. He is neat but not neat, good at cooking some meals and bad at cooking some others. He is the goldilocks type.

E = Ending (If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)

He would be awkward and would hate to make you sad. Tries to act emotionless to end it as soon as possible. Would hate seeing you cry

F = Fiance(e) (How do they feel about commitment? How quick would they want to get married?)

100% committed. He will not rush into marriage but have a stable and nice relationship. Eventually, when both of you discuss it and are sure of settling down, he’d say the words (rather shyly hehe)

G = Gentle (How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?)

Very gentle. When he hugs you feel like a china doll hahah

H = Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?)

Yes, he loves themmm he will shyly hug you all the time but he wouldn’t do it in public. He doesn’t like PDA

I = I love you (How fast do they say the L-word?)

It takes time. He doesn’t want it to be just words so he mulls it over quite a bit before saying it

J = Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous?)

He isn’t jealous. He is chill with everything and he trusts you very much. He knows you have guy friends as he does have girlfriends and neither of you can just ditch them. Trust is everything in your relationship.

K = Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?)

Shy kisses. He usually isn’t the one initiating them (he still likes it though teehee), he likes to be kissed on the forehead, because they are always filled with love. Loves giving you cheek kisses :3

L = Little ones (How are they around children?)

He is kind of lost, because he doesn’t really know what to do but loosens up later and ends up becoming best friends with the kids (they have the same interests anyways pfft)

M = Morning (How are mornings spent with them?)

I think he is an early riser, so the two of you would cook breakfast together while listening to calm music.

N = Night (How are nights spent with them?)

You love reading together before bed. You light a few candles (vanilla scented, of course) and let the silence engulf you as you read page after page together :))))

O = Open (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?)

He would slowly reveal things about himself, starting from the most generic ones and then going into more personal things.

P = Patience (How easily angered are they?)

He is difficult to make angry. When he does though, he’s not angry, he’s distant and quiet.

Q = Quizzes (How much would they remember about you? Do they remember every little detail you mention in passing, or do they kind of forget everything?)

He would remember the important things but he would sometimes forget about what you told him to buy on his way home.

R = Remember (What is their favorite moment in your relationship?)

When you went to an arcade late at night and played games for 3 hours straight.

S = Security (How protective are they? How would they protect you? How would they like to be protected?)

He is somewhat in the middle. He would obviously get overprotective if someone catcalled you on the streets but if there is a spider on your desk, he cannot help you with that hahahaah

T = Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?)

He would try his best to give you the best gift, organize the best birthday party (often gets help and advice from friends but still), and not forget to vacuum the floors

U = Ugly (What would be some bad habits of theirs?)

He never empties his pockets when he throws something in the laundry. Once your washing machine broke because a metal coin from George’s pocket got stuck in it.

V = Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks?)

He literally doesn’t care (y'all saw the way he dresses) but still looks fine asf

W = Whole (Would they feel incomplete without you?)

Yes he’d be like a lost puppy. If you went away for a week or so he’d text you every couple of minutes saying he misses you (wholesome boi)

X = Xtra (A random headcanon for them.)

George once burned the microwave because he tried to make a mug cake.

Y = Yuck (What are some things they wouldn’t like, either in general or in a partner?)

He would hate if you were to walk around in the house in outdoor clothes. Hygiene first babies.

He can sleep for 2 days straight I’m serious

01. || first day of school.

Edith was awakened by that stupid default iPhone alarm, she groaned before picking up her phone and looking at the time.

6:47 am

She sighed before pulling herself out of her bed and wrapping her comforter around her body. She dragged her tired self over to the windowsill before kneeling right in front of it.

"Good morning Rex," Edith smiled opening up her chameleon's enclosure. She gently picked up the pet and walked into her bathroom down the hallway.

She set Rex on a small tree planted in a pot right next to the towel rack. He became yellow indicating that he was excited, this was like a daily routine to him.

Edith finally tore the comforter from herself before wetting her toothbrush and applying toothpaste to it.

2 and a half minutes later she finished, continuing with her morning routine which included washing her face, changing into clean clothes, and most importantly feeding her beloved chameleon.

"Good morning sweet pea," Edith's dad poked his head through the mudroom doorway. "Excited for your very last first day of school?"

"Total, can't wait to be the loner of the year!" The girl looked up from her bowl of cereal.

"Just like every other year." Her brother Sapnap spoke.

"Oh be quiet, be nice to your sister." Allie, her stepmother snapped at the boy.

"She's not my actual sister mom." He replied.

"Excuse me? Go get your brother and leave before you guys are late for school." Allie raised her voice at her son.

"Thanks, Allie." Edith half smiled placing her empty bowl in the sink.

One of the young men came running down the stairs, Basketball and Regular backpacks in hand. "Come on Edith, you had like 40 minutes to put that stupid lizard away yet you choose to do it now, right before we have to leave?"

"I'll be quick I'm sorry," Edith picked up Rex from yet another plant in the kitchen, walking up the stairs and into her room. "I'll be back later, love you." She kissed the chameleon's head before setting him back in his home.

"That's disgusting." Edith heard a whisper from the hallway, of course, one of the infamous boy who hate her for no apparent reason, Clay.

"You're acting like you don't say shit to your cat Clay. I've never said anything to you, I don't understand why you have to be so rude to me." Edith grabbed her school bag, throwing it over her shoulder before pushing past Clay and running down the stairs.

"Love you, Edith, have a good day at school." Her Dad yelled at her as she ran out of the garage door into Sapnap's Truck.

Edith wasn't a very affectionate person. She had a hard time talking about her feelings, along with even saying those stupid 3 word sentences to her father. Though of course she never had a problem saying it to Rex. Then again she didn't feel as if he could judge her anything since y'know, he is a chameleon after all.

"We're picking up George, you'll have to sit in the bed of the truck once we get him," Sap spoke looking over at Edith.

"You're joking, right? Do you not see what I'm wearing? That bed is disgusting, you haven't cleaned it this whole summer."

"Sucks, I already told George we would pick him up."

"You're a piece of shit, I don't know why you guys treat me so bad when I've been nothing but be nice to you two," Edith spoke before crossing her arms against her chest.

A few minutes go by before the three siblings arrive at George's house. Clay hopped out of the truck letting Edith out and letting George in.

Stepping up on the tire, making sure her jeans wouldn't get caught on anything, she threw her leg over just as George walked outside.

"Why's she sitting in the bed?" George asked walking through his front lawn.

"You know my truck is only a 3 seater George, she's fine, get in," Sap yelled out the sunroof.

George and Edith made eye contact as Clay pushed his friend inside the car.

"Are you sure she's okay out there? She doesn't even have a sweater on and it's 38 degrees out guys," George spoke looking through the back window at Edith's back.

"You're right, don't go yet." Clay hopped out of the car, taking off his jacket and offering it to his stepsister.

Edith looked over her shoulder and into the truck before taking the jacket from Clay. "Thank you."

Getting back in, he buckled his seatbelt before Sapnap began driving. "Why do you care if she's cold or not George? Got a crush on her or something."

"What no? I could never, she's not my type. Just thought it would be nice."

Edith's heart sunk. She had to admit. George was pretty cute and was the nicest friend out of her brother's friend group. How could she be such a fool? Of course, she's not George's type. She's got dark brown hair, light brown eyes, acne, scars from her past, horrible eye bags that circled her whole eye, making it look like she always had black eyes, and last but not least, she wasn't the skinniest. The only girls she has ever seen George date were beautiful blonde and blue-eyed girls.

What if she were to just jump out of the moving truck, would it hurt? Do you think she would die? No no no Edith shook those thoughts out of her head as they pulled up to the school. Her stomach began to hurt. Maybe she should've gone online as her father suggested. No no that was silly, she can do this. It's only one last year before she can move away and leave everything behind. Just like her brother did. She missed him, a lot. Maybe too much.

Her thoughts were interrupted when Clay yelled at the girl to give back his jacket. "Edith, Edith! Are you deaf?!"

"Stop yelling at her you stupid bitch." One of Ediths friends, Tina, defended the girl, pushing past the boys and slapping Clays' shoulder. "Edith are you okay?"

"What? Oh sorry. Yes, I'm okay." She apologized before slipping off Clay's jacket and handing it back to him. She jumped out of the bed, while Tina grabbed her hand.

"You don't have to apologize, Edith, It's not-" George was interrupted by Alex making his way over to the truck.

"Sup fuckers." Alex hugged' the brothers.

"God all of you are so annoying." Tina groaned pulling Edith away from the group of boys.

"Tina!" Alex called after her.

"What do you want Alex," Tina turned around making eye contact with her brother.

"Don't forget about tonight."

"What's tonight?" Edith looks at Tina.

Tina pulled the girl along while she spoke. "Don't be mad at me please,"

"Why would I be mad?" Edith pulled her arm away from Tina.

"I'm leaving, not like leaving leaving but I'm going to Mexico for a little while."

"What a little while?"

"Like a month or two.." Tina shrugged.

"A month or two?! Tina, why didn't you tell me? I mean I'm not upset, I'm happy you'll be able to see your family again. I just wish you would've told me sooner." Edith wrapped her arms around the girl.

"I know and I'm sorry, that's why I came today so we could spend some time together,"

"We don't have any classes together Tina what do you mean?"

"Listen I know, and that's why we will be skipping school today." Tina smiled grabbing both of Edith's hands.

"Tina what? I can't skip school. My dad will kill me."

"No he won't E, now let's go,"

"Sorry, I'm such an ass." Sapnap mumbled again, this time loud enough for George to hear.

He rolled his eyes, "You're not an ass, you're an idiot." Sapnap blinked, letting the words seep in. He exhaled slowly, looking around George before settling on him again.

Navigating an empty Kingdom is more tiring than you may think and George is doing just that. Minus the spontaneous visits from an overseeing God, a worried best friend, and a seemingly absent friend, you can guess it's going okay.

^^^ It has come to my attention that whatever I post next (this post) will be my 5,000th post, so I've decided to make it a special one!

Did you know that I started this blog, it was originally named OfDemonsAndDruids, because all I intended to really post about was my fanfic series by the same name? And if you did know that, congrats! And thanks for sticking around, that's so cool :)

And for the rest of you! you will now be indoctrinated by the epic ODAD lore (which plagues my drain to this day, even after writing 176k words about it.)

George is the crown prince of the Mushroom Kingdom, a secluded but prosperous country which boasts powerful druid magic and control over the Lichens, a strange yet formidable species which bonds with humans when their true name is spoken. George, as the prince, is given a Lichen to bond with when he's sixteen, and the Lichen will serve as his guard, protector, and servant for the rest of his life.

Dream is that Lichen, though his real name isn't Dream. Dream is the "code" by which he goes so no one other than George can speak his true name. He has been trained his whole life to serve the royal family and to protect George with his superhuman powers of speed, strength, and stamina. He wears a mask, as do all Lichens, because their most powerful skill is that of control. When a Lichen looks at someone with their bare eyes, they can completely control that person (and yes, he can see through the mask. It's magic.)

Sapnap is, well, just some guy! He lives in a village north of the Mushroom Kingdom, but longs to leave home and go on an adventure. Maybe someday his dreams can be fulfilled...

Bad is a full-blooded demon, or at least he appears to be, when he wears his enchanted cloak which casts a shadow over his face. He's worked for years building a reputation as the best bounty hunter in the Nether, and works with his team of white wolves to hunt down his bounties.

Skeppy is an imp, a species closely related to demons, though they're about half the size and have wings instead of horns and a fuzzy tail. They're also shapeshifters, and don't follow the code of order that demons do. Instead, they're led only by chaos and a drive for trickery. Skeppy and Bad have been friends for a long time, though that friendship mostly consists of Skeppy teasing and trolling Bad, and sometimes his pranks go too far...

I've just barely scratched the surface about these guys (like this literally doesn't even get into the main plot) so if you're curious, give it a read!

Symbiosis is the main fic in the series, and follows George through the events of a war between the Demons and the Mushroom Kingdom. It's 100k words and very plotty, and focuses on DNF and the four muffinteer's freindship.

Maladaptation is the companion fic to Symbiosis, which follows Bad and Skeppy through the same events, but showing a very different perspective. It's 70k and just as plotty, but focuses on Skephalo (as well as Quackity and Skeppy's friendship - I started writing it over a year ago...)

And Devotion is a short follow-up to Symbiosis, which is basically just a nsfw DNF one shot that shows a bit of Dream's POV on his relationship with George.

While it's been almost a year since I've worked on this series, I want to say that I'm not done with it and I do plan on writing more in 2024, because I've been having some serious brainworms about these guys. But regardless, I hope you enjoyed learning about my complicated fantasy AU, or if you've read Symbiosis, that you enjoyed this walk down memory lane.

Edith had always been the quiet girl in school, never talked unless she was called, though, of course, she found ways around that.

Though she hadn't always been so quiet. She was once a bright and talkative person, unfortunately, her childhood had changed that, her childhood ruined her. From her parent's divorce to her only brother cutting her off when she was just 16, no one ever believed her when she told them why. She was told that there had to be another reason. No one would do that to their own sister, and so on.

After that day she swore she would never express her feelings to anyone because once she did, they left. Every single one of them, that was until George Davidson came along.
