i can recommend the song of achilles :) its a romance novel based on the story of achilles and patroclus from the illiad, its been a long time since ive read it but i remember having been very moved by it. the language is beautiful and the story is .. quite tragic lol i think if u enjoy hashirama & madara's tragedy, u might enjoy this as well
the song of achilles !!! genuinely such a well-written and moving work... i read it two years ago or so, and in the true depths of my hsmd brainrot i absolutely saw the parallels heehee. the story truly stands out as a beautiful tragedy, and it also enhanced my experience in playing hades, which i had played first -> looked into achilles & patroclus -> unlocked the memories of the amount of times my father watched troy (starring brad pitt) when i was a child -> reading this book
ty for the rec ! i hope others read the novel as well and enjoy it too <3

#starting a collection of iconic pictures of mcr#i take suggestions but reserve the right to veto#bear in mind im looking for iconic mcr *pictures;* not pictures of iconic mcr moments#basically the criteria is ‘pictures you think about and mention to people sometimes’#so like say the pictures from the danger days shoot with the tapestry where gerard looks really fem doesn’t count#bc sure it’s like; well known but it lacks a certain. something#while like; that picture of them standing in the fuckin wheat field for Some reason counts bc. it’s lesser known but it’s got substance#already on my list are the wheat field pic; the one with the old men playing mahjong; those four where gerard looks like a vampire;#the school shoot for i’m not okay where they’re all bloody; and probably the kerrang christmas spread from i think 2005#oh also the one where they’re dressed up in like shitty costumes like knights and wizards#and also also the one where it looks like ray is forcing frank to eat the pizza#that ones like a top ten for me it’s so funny to me and i Don’t know why#anyway it’s been a minute since i intentionally sought out pictures of these guys but i’ve seen quite a few of them so#if you give me a half decent description of the one you mean i’ll probably know what you’re talking about#if you have the picture to send; even better; but some of these are hard to find#i’ve already decided against the honey pictures and also the one where gerard has the pins and satchel and looks fem#And the one of gerard in the black santa hat#also as for clips if anyone has the lotms clip where bert from the used is like struggling to remember gerard’s name while it shows them#in the little window making out; or the clip of gerard telling the guys to take their shirts off and swing them around#OR if you have this song is about sucking dick for cocaine#that’s an iconic mcr clip for sure

Gerard's casual fashion seems to be wizard scarecrow.
Out in the wheat fields, casting spells to help the plants grow and mind control the birds.

untitled thoughts about blackout poetry and being trans, november 15 2023. text transcript under the cut
“transness is a bit like blackout poetry i think
you're taking what was handed to you
a body
a page of words
and saying this isn't suitable
i'm going to change it
to fix it
to cut it into a shape i like better
and there's that one quote everyone circulates around
"god made trans people for the same reason he made grapes but not wine or wheat but not bread”
and i'm not religious
never really have been, as far as i remember
only ever prayed once in my life
so i dont agree with the god bit of it, as such
but the divinity of creation
the inherent power in taking a sheet of paper
that says
"you're such a beautiful girl. you'll be a woman someday."
and scribbling all over it, blacking out words until it just says
"boy."
that i can get behind
and there's something there about inspiration too, i guess
about taking another person's words and making them your own
or about knowing you're a boy
but not quite knowing how to be a boy
not yet at least
and borrowing until you're a shape that kind-of sort-of makes sense
dean-winchester-cocky with gerard-way-red hair not quite original
but yourself all the same
or as close as you can get to it by reshaping this body that didn't start out as your own”
