Gerhard Berger: “Not yet in Formula 1, but he’s gonna be in Formula 1. It’s Lawson. Who is driving DTM, who won the race for Ferrari yesterday. This guy next year [is] gonna be my favourite, not in DTM but in Formula 1.”
Liam Lawson: “That’s pretty cool, i had no idea, um, that that Gerhard said this but i appreciate it a lot. Hopefully he’s right, hopefully we can make that happen whether it’s next year or in a couple of years time, um, yeah that would be the dream.”
Remembering the closest I’ve ever been to Charles (and Seb, but mostly Charles)
Unfortunately I had a shitty phone back then 🥺
+bonus Alesi and Berger followed by Kimi and Mick in the red car behind 💖
"I was one time in Mauritius on holiday and Michael Schumacher came to me," Austrian Berger told a news conference at the Hungaroring, where the 20-year-old German will make his team debut on Sunday.
"He said 'Gerhard, you have to look. There is this guy in go-karts, the name is Vettel.' I said 'Who?' 'Vettel, he is very quick.' And that was many years ago."
The last piece of jigsaw of Der Spiegel, I guess?
I mean it’s already there for ages but I’ve been half dead since Monza 2006 so I didn’t really turn on the radar. But anyway it should lead to the “final” conclusion - and I’m going to use (or misuse) some of such information for Love Like Letters in several chapters…
The only thing I really worry about is that any of my own portraits / imagination of the power fight in “pre-Vettel RBR era” (basically Marko vs Berger), either in Der Spiegel or in Love Like Letters, is not even harsh enough. And that’s why a number of my favourite humans have raced with RBR but I still HATE that team. (Yes, I’m not a fan of Merc but I literally HATE RBR.)
