Ultra has somewhat more emphasis on Nazi attempts to penetrate government.

Those espousing Nazi-friendly views in the 1930s did not disappear when the US entered World War II and fascism became very unfashionable. Those half-hidden feelings hibernated and occasionally emerged from time to time to poison discourse and endanger democracy. There are obvious echos of that movement today.

Highlights from my EU4 Austria game up to 1600s

Excommunication and the religious league wars were the end of me) #I got so pissed I switched to the Protestant side of the 30 year war and curbstomped Pfalz but only to sign the Treaty of Westphalia #Allowing me to gitch out and become an Easter Orthodox Christian member of the HRE (since it's peace between ALL Christians after all) #I can't even begin to explain how funny this is. Everyone picked sides based on me being Catholic! #When I switched sides all my allies were my enemies and all my enemies were my allies now. #Everyone lined up to kick my ass and I joined the queue. Then we beat up on some kid instead of me #Anyhow I also married into England without an heir and just... Got a Tudor as heir. The game pesters me to bring back the Habsburgs but no #It's better this way cause then I can try to take control over all the other Tudors (they hate me so that'd be hard) #England rebelled during my orthodox rebellion and so became an independent state seperate from Britian. Those are now two distrinct entitie #There's a England and there's a UK but they're nowhere near each other #And England wants to colonize overseas despit being landlocked. Like... No. Go back to paying me taxes!

I know i'm overreacting and just being a little bitch but trying to form my schedule as a double-major is really giving those riddles that are like "x said y is the criminal and that z couldn't have done it, y says they didn't do it, and z says that x did it and that they're innocent - only one person is telling the full truth. Germany says ready to resume Brazil deforestation aid after Lula victory

Germany said Wednesday it was ready to resume sending financial aid to Brazil to combat deforestation, which it froze in 2019 under Jair Bolsonaro, following Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva's election triumph.

“We are in principle prepared to release the frozen funds,” said a development ministry spokesman in Berlin. “We will now talk to the transition team in Brazil about the details.”

He was referring to aid paid by Germany into the Amazon Fund for Forest Conservation and Climate Protection, considered one of the main tools to reduce deforestation in the planet’s biggest tropical forest.

The spokesman said it was not yet clear when payments would resume but added that “in the German government, there is a great will to reach out quickly”.

Germany, along with the fund’s biggest donor Norway, had halted payments after deforestation surged under far-right, climate-sceptic leader Jair Bolsonaro.

just few months ago our prime minister, an oligarch, was being sued for stealing bunch of EU money and who was inviting viktor orban for his pre-election rally and our president was pro-putin's alcoholic that was discrediting Russia's terrorist attack on our territory. (And don't even get me started on Slovakia's political mess)

and then by some miracle we managed to win an election, defeat the oligarch, president was on death's door, and now we have maybe a bit more  conservative than I would have liked but definitely pro-european government that is actually doing a lot of good for Ukraine.

Like if you asked me a year ago what I think international news would be writing about Czechia this would not be it

So the conservatives in Thüringen pushed through a non-binding recommendation against "gendered language" in state government institutions (incl. schools and unis), but only managed it with the votes of the nazis. And the comment section of the article are crowing about how it's not bad to vote with nazis if they're correct.
