Poke-Elementary🎒 🍏✏️ This one was really inspired by my time as an elementary school teacher and all the things my kiddos would get up to in the classroom. i don't expect her to win because gen 7 pokemon is a very niche fandom, but i had to submit her because her entire story centers around the relationship between mother and child, from both sides. first, she lives as part of a normal happy family with her mother lusamine, her father mohn, and her brother gladion. then her dad gets sucked through an interdimensional portal and her mother starts becoming more unhinged and abusive in the aftermath of that event. her brother runs away from home with a similarly abused experimental pokemon in tow, and things get even worse at home. Eventually, lillie builds up the courage to steal another mistreated pokemon (a little baby nebula thing from outer space she nicknames nebby) and run away herself. during the events of the game, lillie acts like a mother to nebby in a way that specifically contrasts her from most major pokemon characters, since she doesn't participate in pokemon battles for fear of pokemon getting hurt and doesn't even keep nebby in a poke ball, instead opting to use her bag to carry it. over the course of the game, she and nebby bond with the protagonist which culminates in nebby evolving into either solgaleo or lunala depending on the version during the climax of the story and lillie deciding to leave it in the care of the protagonist, since it's all grown up now and she doesn't think it would be as happy without being able to participate in battles.

Please someone adopt my girl! She used to go visit her mother's niche in the catacombs and tell her decomposed corpse about her day, just to pretend there was someone who cared. All the family she ever had, found or otherwise, was some bones and her imagination that maybe the person those bones used to belong to once loved her. Then, when she was eight years old, the bones were taken away too. She is so desperate for love and affection she would most definitely die or join a cult about it. i tried to capture each of their unique looks : ) i can distinguish them really easily now! at first i confused tormenta and trueno, but now its really easy to see whos who.

notes ive taken mentally about their personalities below cut

colmillo is extroverted, bold. easygoing. greedy beast (hungry). the most friendly and bold. shes the only one who meows. sometimes.

solecito is a little babyyyy. just a little birthday man

edward is a serious dude. he likes to play with my bag though

daisy..i feel she judges me. she always arrives late to eat. she roams around a large area and doesnt really like to lay down (may she be a tom?)

tormenta and trueno are frequently seen together. tabby bros. tormenta is more reserved, distant. big guy. small face.

trueno is super curious. built like a brick. way too big. always looks like O_O. facial markings are very bold. big eyes.

nebby seems to be a russian blue. very tall , lanky. beautiful emerald eyes. was cautious at first but now is quite curious. he likes my bag. silly guy.

sebastian is distant.. very cautious. lays down and looks aat me from a safe distance. tormenta seems to like being near him. he tries to get his attention.

So for the nebby thing if we're goin off the games then here's an idea:

Ash is comin back from the dispensary goin back to the house and all he hears is

"Nebby get in the bag and stop Messing around!! Someone can see you!"

And it's coming from the forest

He puts out his joint and goes to investigate.

And he sees a little Pokemon that's floating and looks like a.... Nebula?

For the anime:

Ash was getting out of the teachers lounge with Pikachu on his shoulder when all of the sudden his ears perked up

"what's wrong bud?"

Pikachu jumped off and rushed off

"Hey! Where are you going!?"

As he rushed after the yellow mouse Pokemon they ended up outside of the school

Still running they rushed into the forest Pikachu came to a quick stop

"what was that forr... Uh hi?" He said at the yellow and black bird Pokemon

Tapu Koko quickly left with a glance at something In the bush's

As him and Pikachu walk over to the bush's he notices a small pokemon sleeping

One he's never seen before

And then he remembers his dream he had last night

"oh Arcues please help me"

these are very good and i love them, i might just have to do a fic with all the possible ways Ash could stumble across Nebby. what I was thinking was that Ahs wakes up, steps outside to head to school for another day, and see's Nebby on his patio right in front of his door. asleep in a little basket like that one over played scene of a parent leaving their young with a better family so it could survive. OR Ash and Pikachu are taking a walk and an edible hits Ash just as Tapu Koko floats down from the heavens and shoves Nebby into Ash's arms before dipping. so Ash is stuck trying to mentally progress what just happened while Pikachu is trying to calm down a wailing Nebby.

I don't know, I feel like the 'raidons have more personality. Nebby's got a bit (GET IN THE BAG), but the 'raidons just constantly have interactions and personalities that give them a lot of color. Plus they're around more consistently.
