This is my 4 point theory on why superheroes become superheroes.
A need to prove themselves
Just got roped into it
No. 1: Guilt Complex: this means that the hero did something or believes they did something bad or wrong and are trying to make up for what they did by saving people. Eg. Iron Man, pretty self-explanatory he sold weapons that killed people and then wanted to make up for it. He did so by becoming a superhero and saving people.
No.2: A need to prove themselves: This is when a person has been underestimated, not taken seriously or feels inconsequential etc. Eg. Thor: needs to prove he is worthy of Mjolñir/Jonathan. He does this by saving people and fighting on behalf of Asgard etc.
No.3: just got roped into it: This one usually applies to heroes who were sidekicks and then become a main superhero. This usually is mixed with one of the previous reasons but unlike the people before weren't actively seeking out or looking to or wanted to or chose to be a superhero. This doesn't mean that they didn't want to be a superhero it just wasn't a priority. Eg. Sam Wilson went on a run with Captain America and a few years later is Captain America. I don't think Sam thought help Steve and Nat in TWS was going to lead to a full time superhero gig.
No. 4: Tax Evasion: like Ned Leeds asked in Spiderman: Homecoming "Do Avengers pay taxes?"
I just feel so proud of myself when I go to stand up and I feel like I’m bout to faint or something or when my belly growls so loudly it can be heard from another room, It almost eggs me on, “how many more symptoms can I get?” and I almost get giddy at the thought of fainting from not eating because it means that I am doing it “right”. Yes I am aware this is not healthy but my parents are complimenting me, I am getting smaller, and everyday I become more and more obsessed with whatever this is (don’t wanna self diagnose) cause now I think about it 25/8 and I don’t think I can stop.
the trouble with wj goes so much deeper than anything in canon and has a LOT more to do with the fanon reaction and expectations of liam admitting caleb has feelings for jester on talks and the way the fandom has run with that to the extent that they think caleb somehow deserves jester as a Tool to Make Him Better, reducing her to a narrative in his story and ignoring all of her main character energy
and then making every good moment for fj about how Sad Edgelord Caleb Got like “did you see his face? so sad uwu”
no, tiffany, i didn’t, because i was enjoying the meager content i’m allowed to have from the ship i actually enjoy
It’s the distracted boyfriend meme (Which is a meme of three people, 2 girls and a guy. The girlfriend is looking at the guy upset, while the boyfriend is distracted by another girl)
The text over the girlfriend reads [Therapy]
The text over the boyfriend reads [Mogai]
The text over the girl the boy friend is distracted by reads [Micro-identities]
End of image description
So many mogai fuckers need therapy not a new identity or the other 1276 other identities they’ve hoarded to avoid admitting to themselves they are deeply mentally unwell, and or just lesbian, gay, bi and or a trans man, trans woman or trans non-binary.
coming back on this app to see 13 year old girls still romanticizing drugs, lolita and eds the same way i did 5 years ago is????? bc thank you for confirming most teenage girls are just mentally deranged and i wasn't particularly stupid but also PLEASE STOP
Reminder that posting thinspiration and unhealthy diets is promoting a deadly disease that kills thousands of people each year and ruins lives and if you post these things while knowing this you are complicit in helping people get sicker and likely eventually die or almost die and it does not matter if you tag it as 'for you' because you know posting it will mean other people will see that content.
