Get to know my Shep 🤍 (Blank template under the cut.)

I loved the original template that cparrisart created but I wanted to make it a little more mass effect themed. They did state that they didn’t need credit if the template was heavily edited but I’ve added it anyway because their art is dope and you should check out their twitter.

This took me a while but I’d love to do more in the future. I may make an edited version of this template with more specific character detail sections but for now, this brief one fits what I needed. Have fun!

She has empathic abilities and can be more deceptive than one would think. Mostly honest with her friends but strangers are fair game especially if they are unkind. Not manly know that she moonlights as a cat burglar.

Introducing: Harriet (she/her) from the Oathsworn Trilogy

Thanks for the tag @oh-no-another-idea I’ve seen this tag game as a get to know you game but never for OCs. I love it!

In honor of your Jax I’m going to do my Jax for this one. I’m also almost to the point where he comes into my wip so this will help me get to know him a bit more too.

Passing on an Open Tag for anyone who wants to do this.

Relationship status: in a long term relationship with himself, his muscles, the weight room. Single. He’s single and perfectly content with that.

Favorite color: green and gold

Favorite food: Since he's so into working out, you'd think he would be fairly conscious of his diet and nutrition. He's not. He likes to eat. He likes to eat a lot. He loves meat though and is apt to pass over the carbs (including vegetables) when filling his own plate.

Song stuck in their head:

Anyway stuff like this is way outside his normal listening preferences but totally the type of thing that would be stuck in his head all the time. It would bother him more if it didn’t annoy Keller so much.

Poor Jax. He's one of those people who gets songs stuck in his head without even knowing where he heard them. This is definitely way outside his normal listening preferences, but the type of song to live rent free in his head anyway. He doesn't really mind though since it annoys Keller so much. Sometimes he even sings it on purpose.

Last thing they googled: probably "is it true that" plus whatever made-up thing Keller tried to convince him is true. Jax isn't stupid, but he isn't what you would call "book smart". Keller likes to make stuff up and try to convince him it's true. After falling for it enough times he finally started looking stuff up afterward.

Last thing they read: Jax isn't much of a reader. He does enjoy conspiracy theory forums though. Not so much because he believes them but because he thinks they are hilarious, especially ones about the Military.

Last book they enjoyed reading: Jax doesn't usually read books and he's never enjoyed being made to read them. He would be more likely to enjoy something non-fiction and related to his interests than a novel, but he just doesn't enjoy reading. He might enjoy informative audiobooks. He'd love something like a true crime podcast or one about debunking conspiracy theories.

Favorite thing to cook/bake: Jax doesn't do either. He lives in the Military dormitories and eats in the cafeteria. When he's out on missions he eats pre-packaged rations. If he were ever to get into cooking though he'd definitely get into barbecuing.

Favorite thing to do in their free time: Work out, especially very intense cross fit or circuit training type workouts. Just going for a run or something he finds boring.

Most niche dislike: people who go to the gym to socialize. Jax is a social guy, but when he's working out he likes to be totally focused. People who try to chat with him, or even other people at the gym talking to each other annoy him.

Opinion on circuses: He's a positive, upbeat guy. He can have a good time pretty much anywhere. Whether we are talking about a really cool, acrobatic circus performance or a cheesy kiddy circus, Jax can probably find something amusing about it.

Do they have any sense of direction?: He's doesn't have a particularly great sense or direction or a particularly bad one. He doesn't get lost or turned around in places he is familiar with, but if he has to take an unexpected turn or take a route he isn't used to, he will most likely end up a little lost. He is the type to absolutely refuse to use a map, which doesn't help.

Video game I saw in a dream. It was in this low poly style like an older video game. You play as this character I think was meant to be a lamb, or maybe a weird mix of a lamb a mouse and a rabbit, (while not really looking like any of those things) and you’re running away from a wolf. Your objective is to last as long as possible before the wolf catches and eats you.

The house you’re running in is endless and bizarrely put together like most building interiors in dreams are (like the infinite toilet dream dimension on Reddit lol) the layout of the house is pretty detailed, you can stop and hide in places like closets or bins while the wolf looks for you, you can go up and down stairs and into rooms etc.

You never actually know where the wolf is or how close it is to you until it appears in your line of sight, it makes no noise and the game gives you no way of knowing where it is, and it’s pretty unpredictable it doesnt move at a consistent pace. When the wolf catches you there’s an animation showing it eating your character

Character Summary 1: Rayan Hyacinth (he/it)

Rayan Cruz Hyacinth, although his birth name is Cora Cruz Maguire, is an ex-serial murderer and an immortal man stuck in his mid 30's. He is described to be slightly egocentric and very irritable, though sometimes these prominent traits are underlined by the way he acts when in the captivity of a group of his surviving victims, quite fittingly titled The Survivors.

Rayan has two known siblings; Madison Maguire, and Theo Hyacinth. Madison is the eldest daughter, Theo close behind, leaving Rayan as the youngest sibling. They are all originally from Dublin, Ireland.

Rayan stands at 5'9, with outgrown, dark brown hair styled to sweep over his right eye. He is transgender but has no dysphoria from his chest, and as such he embraces his feminine figure. He has green eyes and an accumulation of scars, mostly across his neck, back, stomach, chest and thighs. However, there is one scar across his right eye, where he had nearly been blinded. He has a lip piercing and multiple piercings on his ears, and a tattoo across his neck of a dotted like with the text "cut here" underneath. He also has a prosthetic leg, since his right leg was cut off by one of his torturers.

As previously mentioned, Rayan is immortal and an ex-serial killer. He has the ability to regenerate alarmingly quickly depending on the severity of the wound. However, there is one known way to somewhat kill him, through slitting his throat, in which he will come back after a couple of hours.

Character Summary 2: Foster Canavan (they/them)

Foster Zephyr Canavan is the creator and leader of The Survivors, and was one of Rayan's victims. They are in their late 20's, and are described to mainly be charismatic, though they're cruel toward Rayan, their past torturer and now victim.

They have no known siblings, nor do they have any parents on record; although they do have cousins, Esrana and Zayn Flynn. They changed their name to Foster after coming out as non binary, but nobody knows their birth name. They originated in Worcester, United Kingdom, and have a rather strong and deep accent.

They stand at 5'4, with black hair commonly slicked back or parted. They have heterochromia, their right eye being grey and their left eye being a light blue colour. They have multiple scars across their face and neck, along with larger ones on their back, and have a septum, eyebrow and a "snake bite" piercing.

Character Summary 3: Esrana Flynn (she/her)

Esrana Amara-Ivy Flynn, who is about 27 years old, is Foster's cousin and the co-leader of The Survivors. She is usually described to be sly and judging, though sometimes can be more affectionate and gentle with the others, especially her younger brother. Sometimes. When she isn't being soft, she demands a lot from the members of the group, her previously mentioned brother being the one she most frequently pressures.

As previously discussed, she has a younger brother, and both of them are the cousins of Foster Canavan. Her mother was a single parent, though the three of them got on with day-to-day life well, and had a relaxed childhood for the most part. She was born in Leeds, United Kingdom, though had moved around a lot and eventually settled in Redditch.

She stands at 5'10, with dark, olive skin and black hair she frequently leaves down, letting it fall down her back and shoulders in curls. She has brown eyes and full lips, yet has a father masculine physique. She has no scars because, unlike the rest of the members, neither she or her brother had actually interacted with Rayan prior to the group being created.

Character Summary 4: Zayn Flynn (he/they)

Zayn Felix Flynn is Foster's cousin and the younger brother of Esrana Flynn, currently only 19 years old. He is the nicest of the group, described to be compassionate and caring toward all of his peers, which is what gave him the job to be Rayan Hyacinth's caretaker during the immortal's captivity. Despite his sister demanding him to do so, he can never bring himself to hurt or re-capture Rayan.

As just said, Esrana is Zayn's sister, and Foster is their cousin. Zayn had been adopted by their mother when Esrana was eight years old, despite them looking somewhat similar. As far as they are concerned, Zayn cannot remember much of their childhood vividly. He has a slight Welsh accent, so he just assumes and says that he originated in Wales.

Zayn has slightly lighter skin than Esrana but they still remain similar nonetheless; his being an olive brown whereas his sister's is sepia toned. He has dark, amber eyes and soft features, and stands at around 5'2-5'3. He doesn't have any major scars, but has some burn marks across his arm from an incident during Rayan's captivity.

Character Summary 5: Ezra Hendrix (he/xem/they)

Ezra Atticus Hendrix is a member of The Survivors who had unfortunately lost his brother to the immortal. He is described to be energetic and bubbly, being the most lively of the group. Despite this, the 23 year old is just as cruel toward Rayan as Foster is, but at least he cares enough to patch Rayan up afterwards. Sometimes.

As previously mentioned, Ezra had an older brother, named Rome Felix Hendrix, who unfortunately passed away when Rayan had tortured and killed him. Xe, hoping to avenge xir dead brother, joined The Survivors after xe was introduced to it. Both xem and xir brother were born in Houston, Texas.

They have pale, ivory toned skin, and dyed red hair styled into a mullet. They have blue eyes and freckles, and stand at around 6'0, making them the tallest. They also have a tattoo on their face of an upside down cross between their eyebrows, and have multiple more tattoos across their body, along with dagger ear piercings. They mostly have scars across their arms and chest, some on their thighs and one on their lip.

Character Summary 6: Madir Ahearn (he/him)

Madir Echard Ahearn is the oldest member of The Survivors, and the most brutal when it comes to torturing Rayan; though he does so rarely. He's described to be closed off and cold, yet sadistic in the face of putting others in pain. He's in his late 30's to early 40's, give or take.

Madir was an only child and dealt with an alcoholic father and a mother who wasn't always there, and so due to their parenting he blocked contact with them as best as he could, which led him to disgust the sight of alcohol (to the dismay of Ezra). He was born in Munich, Germany.

He has sienna toned skin and green-hazel eyes, his hair a dull brown brown and streaked with grey and white due to having Poliosis. He stands close to Ezra's height at only 5'11. His right arm had to be amputated as he damaged it beyond repair whilst escaping from Rayan, so he has a prosthetic as a substitute for the missing limb. He has a tattoo sleeve on his arm along with a semi-colon tattoo, and has a stud piercing on his left ear, along with a lip piercing. He has small scars on his arms and biceps, along with his back and sides.

sad: falling out of a hyperfixation

tragic: watching your beloved friends and mutuals fall out of the hyperfixation while you're still in it

#oughhhhhhh #this is about the dca fandom but also about every other strong fixation ive had over the years lol #i know it's normal and inevitable esp for less popular works or minor characters with little canon content #and there's nothing wrong with smaller communities of course those rock #but there’s just something special about getting into something at the same time as a lot of other people all at once #and existing in this chaotic fandom space that's just bursting with creativity and passion #i've been in fandom spaces for as long as some of you have been alive and i've only come across that sort of unbridled joy like #a handful of times at best #it's just a heartbreaking feeling to see real lightning in a jar fandoms like that wither away as people drift away #(understandably so!) #anyway don't mind me i'm just having thoughts #musing about fandoms past as well #that i too eventually moved on from but remember fondly even if im not active in anymore #also my music just aint hitting right so im just sitting in silence which makes me more Contemplative(tm)
