Chapter and yara are the main two I'm looking at! Chapter seems more worth the price after what you said. Did your friends like their rooms there? (Also how was doing laundry for you all?)
my best friend, having lived in chapter, says she slightly preferred my room at yara, but liked her own just fine. chapter rooms are comfy, modern, & get plenty of light. she recommends not getting a room higher than the 4th/5th floor as they get extremely hot in the summer, and the lifts are frequently out of order. noise is also an issue if your room faces the train tracks (though this is true for yara as well). she also said that while her rooms were perfectly all right she’d primarily recommend chapter for its management, location, and common spaces. if you’re going for a studio, the kitchenette in yara is a little larger and more practical, but other than that i’d say the differences are minor at best. the online tours yara & chapter have on their website can give you a good idea of which layout you might prefer :’)
laundry can, unfortunately, be something of a nightmare. most student accommodation uses the circuit app by now - yara and chapter both do - and circuit laundry will filet you like a fish. it’s notoriously overpriced, unreliable, inconvenient, and has left me with no service, wet clothes, or damp clothes more than once. i’m afraid that if you’re tied to student accommodation, laundry will at times be frustrating no matter what.
good luck to you anon, & do feel free to let me know if you’ve got more questions abt accommodation or the college!
