Ik Camp half blood has a shop where you can buy shirts but what about shorts. What about spandex shorts that have camp half blood written on the butt. What then.
ngl my fav kotlc book is lodestar. I love the sokeefe angst, I love how the characters got to spend time with the dizznees, I love the sleepover scene and I love how the book has a lot of suspense. for example, wylie's kidnapping, sophie and fitz meeting keefe secretly and the fall of lumenaria.
idk if it's just me but when reading it, I was confused that everything seemed to be done by the time sophie, fitz and tam finished fighting the neverseen when there's like, 100 pages left. well, I was in for a really rude awakening after that.
the moment when sophie realized that the neverseen purposely left gethen, the moment she realized the chandeliers and building were shaking and the moment when she burst out of her room from all her training in exilium was *chef's kiss*.
sophie running through lumenaria while screaming edaline's name and mr. forkle's last words to her as his body slowly went limp in her arms. keefe who might've made a lot of sophie near-death experience jokes but was genuinely afraid when he saw her battered and bruised body in the ruins of lumenaria because he actually almost lost her.
and don't even get me started on the cliffhanger. sophie and her friends arriving at her family's home and seeing everything scattered everywhere and amy recognizing sophie GRRRRAAAAAAAHHHHHHH
What do you think of the theory of Gethen being Sophie’s dad? Would it be more interesting than Fintan being her dad?
I've seen the Gethen theory around a fair bit, and while I personally think Fintan is the more compelling candidate, I can see it being Gethen. There's the telepath connection, the blondness connection, and the added element of 'Sophie first saw her biological father in spandex shorts'.
But I feel like Fintan would be more narratively compelling, somehow. The parallels between Sophie and Fintan would take a lot of posts to explain, but they've both got that restless energy, especially Sophie in the later books (arsonist Sophie <3). And there's an added element of Sophie's understanding, and even initial pity (in Exile during the mind break) for Fintan that would make their potential dynamic after everything pretty intense. Besides, Fintan also seems to be coming back into the narrative, especially in Stellarlune, after a marked absence of Fintan content in Legacy, possibly hinting that it might be him.
But then again we don't know anything for sure! Gethen is definitely in the top tier of candidates, though.
There are really only like three Neverseen members left and I can't wait to see what becomes of that. Fintan's in ice prison, Lady Gisela is a solo villain again, and Vespera's dead, so all of their leaders are gone. Then there's the fact that Brant and Umber are both dead and Alvar is either dead already or will be pretty soon, which leaves three people that we know of. Gethen, Ruy, and Trix. Trix might leave based on what Rayni said about him, and Ruy still can't use his ability, making him mostly useless.
(theories below the cut)
There's a power vacuum and I think there are three ways it could be filled. The least likely is that Fintan will break out of his ice prison and go back to the Neverseen. There's also the possibility that Gethen will take over, which was hinted at in Unlocked (the part where Sophie wrote down everything she knows about the Neverseen) And then there's the option that I personally find the least interesting, which is that Lady Gisela will return to the Neverseen. I doubt she'll do that because they don't really have anything that could benefit her anymore, so they'd really just be a liability at this point. I think having Gisela as a solo villain while what's left of the Neverseen crashes and burns would be the most interesting.
currently Obsessed with gethen. he’s sexy, he’s stabbed ppl, he knocked down a castle, and his ass probably looked amazing in the spandex jogging shorts
