Ghostmaker and Batman have one key thing in common that I haven't really seen anyone else mention. And that's how both of them never really grew up.
Both of their "missions" follow slightly different paths of kid logic. Bruce went through a traumatic event and decided to become a superhero, even though he'd never be able to go back and save himself. Minhkhoa acts like a sort of action/adventure protagonist. He's got to be the best, he's got a vengeance quest for his family's honor, he lives large, ect. Essentially they're both living out a childhood goal that hasn't changed or developed despite the fact that it's extremely illogical.
The childishness both of them possess is showcased in their interactions with each other as well, with the competition about who can have the faster car or the biggest dinosaur. (Although let's not forget that minhkhoa is the force driving these competitive interactions forward)
Look at this shit^^^ he sounds and acts like a spoiled 12 year old playing with his toys, and we all know that Bruce isn't much better.
I think ghostbat's shared lack of "growing up" or so to speak, is one of the reasons they are so close and know each other so well. Both of them understand understand each other's quirks in this area, and so there isn't any shame about it.
Anyway, I could go on about how trauma and developmental delays go hand in hand, but I'll spare the world from those musings for now.
