Literally all of the descendants boys you listed and how they’d react if you got your period and bled through your clothes?
My darling anon you’ve been here before. And I love you for it.
First of all they’re all gonna be nice about it. Chad would be a jerk about it but he’s not relevant here.
That being said, Harry and Jay WILL LAUGH. Until they see that you’re properly upset about it, and then it’s like someone flipped a switch.
Carlos, Doug and Ben will turn bright red.
Gil, my absolute angel of a boy, will not do any of that. He will quietly inform you that you bled through and then he will help you to hide it and escape whatever situation you’re in to go and handle it. ( Uma trained him well, as much as she tried with Harry, Gil learned it better)
Ben will do the same as Gil, but while blushing and he almost always has a jacket which will immediately be tied around your waist and no one will even notice that he took it off because he’s just that good.
All of the boys will get the situation under control and none of them will make you feel bad about it. Once you’ve managed to get changed, they will all reassure you that it’s alright, that you needn’t be embarrassed. They will all be perfectly sweet to you for the whole rest of your period. If you have any of these sweethearts then you are LUCKY!!

Under Her Shadow| Gil LeGume
Tumblr media
Pairing: Platonic!Gil x Mal's Sister!Reader
Word Count: 1,667
Trigger warning: this story contains themes of emotional neglect and family dysfunction.
A/N: This is my first attempt at writing a one-shot, so please don't be too harsh on me...
Summary: Basically it's a sad & lonely-reader meeting and befriending the ball-of-sunshine that is Gil LeGume...
༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ
You stand in a secluded alley on the Isle of the Lost, watching as Mal and her friends wreak havoc on the poor inhabitants of this forsaken place. You are Mal's younger sister, but it often feels like you don't even exist to your own mother, Maleficent, who openly favors Mal over you, always praising her older daughter's every move and putting her on a pedestal. Meanwhile, you are left in the shadows, feeling invisible and unwanted.
You watch as Mal struts around with her new friends, Jay, Evie, and Carlos. They are now the most infamous gang of Vks on the İsle, known as the "Core Four", and Mal is the leader. They’ve been inseparable since going on that crazy quest (that you weren’t part of) to retrieve Maleficent’s scepter: The Dragon’s Eye.
As you see them all laughing and joking together, a bitter wave of loneliness washes over you (despite knowing that deep down, you'll never fit in with them, no matter how hard you try). You have no one to talk to, no one to confide in, and no one to call a friend.
You try to approach Mal, to see if she'll pay any attention to you, but she brushes you off with a wave of her hand. She's too busy with her new friends, and you're just an afterthought. As the day wears on, you find yourself feeling more and more isolated. You watch as Mal and her friends plan their next scheme, and you know you'll never be a part of it.
Eventually, you decide to wander off on your own. You find yourself in the docks, sitting on a barrel, feeling sorry for yourself. You can't help but wonder why your mother doesn't love you as much as she loves Mal. What did you do wrong?
As you sit there, lost in your thoughts, a shadow falls over you. You look up to see a boy standing in front of you, his arms crossed over his chest. It's Gil LeGume, son of Gaston.
"What are you doing here all alone?" he asks, his voice surprisingly gentle.
You shrug your shoulders, not really knowing how to answer.
"Are you okay?" he asks, concern etched on his face.
You shake your head, tears threatening to spill over. "No," you whisper.
Gil sits down beside you, and you're surprised at how comfortable you feel around him. You've always been too disgusted by Gaston and his sons to talk to them, but Gil seems different.
"What's wrong?" he asks, his voice soft.
Trusting your instincts, you take a deep breath and tell him everything. About how Maleficent favors Mal over you, about how you feel invisible and unwanted. About how you're always left out and never included.
Gil listens intently, his eyes never leaving yours. When you're finished, he puts his arm around you, and you lean into him. It's the first time in a long time that you've felt comforted.
"You know," Gil says, "Blood-Family isn't everything. You don't need the approval of your mother to be happy."
You look up at him, surprised. "What do you mean?"
"I mean, that you shouldn't have to strive to be like Mal, for Maleficent’s approval. You don't have to follow in her footsteps. You can be your own person, and make your own choices. You can do whatever you want and be whomever you want to be… That’s what İ did and İ’ve never been happier."
You nod, feeling a glimmer of hope for the first time in a long time. Maybe he's right. Maybe you don't have to be in Mal's shadow forever.
Gil stands up, pulling you to your feet with him. "Come on," he says, "Let's go to Ursula’s Fish and Chips, I heard that the fries are on discount today."
You smile, feeling a weight lifted off your shoulders. Maybe today isn't so bad after all. And maybe, just maybe, you'll find your own place in the world, away from Mal's shadow.
As you and Gil walk through the Isle of the Lost, you start to see things in a different light. You notice people and places that you've never seen before, and you begin to realize that there's a whole world outside of Mal's group.
You and Gil sit on a bench, eating your chips and talking about everything and nothing. You tell him about your favorite things, like reading and drawing, and he tells you about his love for pirating and sports.
It's the first time in a long time that you've had a real conversation with someone, and you realize how much you've been missing out on.
When the sun starts to set, Gil walks you back to your home. You thank him for spending time with you, and he gives you a smile that makes your heart flutter.
As you walk into your house, you're surprised to see Maleficent waiting for you. She looks angry, and you feel a pang of fear in your chest.
"Where have you been, Y/N?" she demands, her eyes narrowed.
"I was just out," you say, trying to keep your voice steady.
"Out where?" she snaps.
"Just around," you say, feeling a knot form in your stomach.
Maleficent glares at you for a few more seconds before storming off, leaving you standing there, feeling small and insignificant.
You walk up to your room, closing the door behind you. You sit on your bed, staring at the wall, feeling tears sting your eyes. You thought maybe things were going to change, but now you feel like you're right back where you started.
As the night wears on, you can hear Mal and her friends laughing and having fun outside your window. You try to ignore them, but their voices carry, taunting you with their happiness.
You pull your blanket up around your shoulders, feeling alone and forgotten. You try to remind yourself of what Gil said earlier, that you don't need to be like Mal or her friends, that you can make your own choices.
But it's hard to believe that when you feel so unloved and unwanted.
Eventually, you fall asleep, but your dreams are plagued with visions of Mal and Maleficent, both of them looking down on you with disdain.
When you wake up in the morning, you feel drained and exhausted. You don't want to face another day of feeling like you don't belong.
But then you remember Gil's words, and you decide to try to take his advice. You grab a notebook and start to write, letting your imagination run wild.
As the day wears on, you find yourself getting lost in your poetry, forgetting about the world outside your bedroom window.
You're surprised when you hear a knock on the balcony of your window. You look up to see Gil standing there, a shy smile on his face.
"Hey," he says, "I was wondering if you wanted to hang out again today?"
You smile, feeling warmth in your chest. Maybe things are starting to change after all.
Together, you and Gil explore the Isle of the Lost, discovering new places and things to do. You feel like you're finally starting to find your own place in the world, as your own person.
As the sun starts to set, you and Gil sit on a rooftop overlooking the Isle of the Lost. You talk about everything and nothing, and you realize how much you've come to value his friendship.
"You know," Gil says, "You're pretty fun to hang out with."
You laugh, feeling a blush rise to your cheeks. "Thanks," you say, feeling a happiness that you haven't felt in a long time.
As the night wears on, you and Gil walk back to your house. You say goodnight, feeling a sense of contentment that you haven't felt in a long time.
But as soon as you open the door to your house, that sense of contentment disappears. Maleficent is waiting for you, her arms crossed and a scowl on her face.
"Where have you been, this time?" she demands.
You feel a knot form in your stomach as you try to come up with an answer. "Out with a friend," you say, your voice barely above a whisper.
Maleficent glares at you, her eyes narrowing. "Out with a friend? Fool! Villains don't have friends, only allies… Your sister is a leader with three minions, why can’t you be more like her?" she says, her voice dripping with disdain.
You feel tears sting your eyes as you realize that nothing has changed. Maleficent still sees you as inferior to Mal, and nothing you do can change that.
But then you remember Gil's words, and you find a newfound strength inside of you. You stand up straighter, looking Maleficent in the eye.
"I'm my own person," you say, your voice steady. "I don't need to be like Mal to be happy."
Maleficent's expression softens for a moment, but then it hardens again. "You'll never be as good as Mal," she says, her voice cold.
You feel a sense of defeat wash over you as Maleficent walks away, leaving you standing there, alone and forgotten once again.
But then you remember the happiness you felt with Gil, and you realize that you don't need Maleficent's approval to be happy. You have your own interests and your own passions, and you don't need to live in Mal's shadow anymore.
From that moment on, you start to embrace your own identity. You spend most of your time with Gil, exploring the Isle of the Lost and discovering new things. You draw and read and write, finding joy in the things that make you unique.
And even though Maleficent still sees you as inferior to Mal, you now know that you don't need her approval to be happy. You have your own place in the world, away from Mal's shadow, and you've finally embraced the fact that you don't need to be anyone but yourself to be happy…

I Came Back
Requested: No; I just wanted to give you guys an example of my current writing style
Warnings: swearing, mention of alcohol use
Words: 800
Pairing: Ben x Child of Gaston!Reader
Prompt: “I came back for you. I promised I would, and I did.”
A/N: Alright everyone! I had some spare time today since I’m off work for Memorial Day and I had a bit of motivation so here is an example of my current writing style! I found the prompt on Pinterest so I’m not sure who to credit. Let me know what you all think! I’m tweaking D3 a bit since I’m not a huge fan of that particular movie so I’m keeping the general plot but instead of all villains and VK’s being freed, I’m having them had cracked down on the barrier.
After the events with Audrey turning evil, the people of Auradon had decided it was too much risk to allow more children of villains into Auradon- it was corrupting their children. Their precious children.
[Y/N] Legume stood just inside the barrier, looking longingly at the shore of Auradon as they remembered their first, and last, day in Auradon- one that they hadn’t even been able to enjoy because they had been fighting to save a place they would never see again.
After learning that the plans to free all the VK’s off of the Isle had been a lie, [Y/N] fought back the tears that threatened to spill over, looking at the ground as they took deep breaths, fighting back the rage that threatened to spill over. Papa had been right all along- the Beasts didn’t care about any of them after all.
Ben looked over at the child of Gaston, someone who was supposed to be his enemy but instead he just felt sad for them. Ben could see the disappointment clearly on their face, despite their efforts to hide it. Ben’s heart ached, hating the fact that the dream he had been working so hard for was all coming to an end.
Ben just couldn’t stand to stand back and do nothing, that wasn’t in his nature. He approached the child of Gaston, apprehensively placing a hand on their shoulder. “I’ll come back for you, I promise...” Ben promised, frowning when Gaston’s child shrugged his hand off their shoulder.
“Don’t make promises you can’t keep, Beasty. It’s clear you’ve already made up your mind.” They snapped, not even looking at the young king as they began to storm off after Uma and Harry, shoving their hands in their pockets as they jogged to go meet up with their brother, Gil.
Even though [Y/N] genuinely hadn’t believed Ben when he had said he would come back for them, a part of them couldn’t help but feel hopeful that maybe... just maybe he wasn’t lying. Maybe he would actually come back for them and they would be able to escape the overbearing weight of their fathers expectations once and for all.
Once a day ever since they returned to the Isle, [Y/N] would make a trip back to the entrance of the Isle just in case there was a royal limo coming their way, but with each passing day the hope they felt dwindled more and more, until finally they honestly didn’t even know why they still went there, day after day.
They sighed as they looked over the water, lingering for a few heart-wrenching moments as they remembered all the things they would never be able to experience again, a sigh escaping their lips as they turned to make their way back to the tavern that their father owned, needing to prepare for their shift.
A few hours later, the sun was setting and the tavern was as lively as ever- Gaston was singing along drunkenly as the entire tavern reenacted the song ‘Gaston’ from his failed proposal to Belle like they did every hour on the hour as an homage to how great Gaston was. The door to the tavern opened, and the tavern went eerily silent in the middle of the song, causing [Y/N] to look over to see what had been so important that even their father would stop singing about how great he was.
In the doorway stood a small handful of Auradonian Royal Guards, and King Ben standing front and center.
“The hell are you doing here, Beast-Boy?” Gaston growled, his eyes narrowing as he looked at the son of his sworn enemy, his grip tightening on the glass in his hand so hard it shattered, glass going everywhere and beer spilling down his front and onto the floor.
Ben stood his ground, standing tall as he looked past Gaston and towards [Y/N]. “Gather your things, it’s time for you to come back to Auradon.” Ben said, smiling as he looked at them. [Y/N]’s face immediately brightened, ecstatic that Ben actually kept his word.
[Y/N] didn’t have a lot in the way of personal belongings, so they just undid the apron they wore for their shift at the tavern and made their way to Ben and the guards, ignoring their father’s angry shouts for them to turn around and come back. “Let’s get out of here.” [Y/N] said, barely even stopping to acknowledge Ben’s presence.
Ben had to jog to catch up with [Y/N], smiling at them once he managed to be walking by their side. “I came back for you. I promised I would, and I did.”
“I see that... do you want a cookie or something for not being an ass?”

Kinktober day 22: V is for voyeurism with Harry Hook and Gil Legume
Co written with @inhumanshadows
Tumblr media
Being in a relationship with Harry and Gil meant you guys got yourselves into a lot of sticky situations, sometimes quite literally.
Your sex life was unpredictable because those two always had new things they wanted to try out and the most recent thing they brought up to you was voyeurism.
“So... I basically sit back, watch you two fuck and enjoy the show?” You ask.
“Yeah.” Gil says.
“Pretty much and we’ll take your input of course," Harry adds on
"I like the sound of that," you grin, "what are you waiting for? Get to it."
Harry and Gil smile as you sit in the chair in the corner of the room, kissing one another on the bed.
Harry eagerly takes Gil's shirt off and his is gone soon after while Harry kisses Gil's neck.
You place your hand in your lap, lazily palming yourself as you watch them.
The next article of clothing gone is the boys pants which Harry, is as expected going commando and Gil is sporting a nice jockstrap.
Gil lays Harry back on the mattress, his ass on full display for you as he takes Harry's cock in his mouth.
It never takes Harry long to get hard, in less than a minute he has a full erection in Gil's mouth who is bobbing his head expertly.
You have taken off your shirt, fully engrossed in watching your boyfriends.
Gil pulls off Harry and takes his balls into his mouth, which drives Harry wild as always.
As much as Harry likes to act tough in public, in private he needs to be taken care of which you and Gil always make sure you do.
You want to reach out and play with Gil's ass so badly but you resist, letting them have their fun.
“Fuck Gil,” Harry moans.
Gil moves up Harry’s body and kisses him, letting the pirate taste of himself.
Gil removes his jockstrap and positions Harry on his hands and knees before grabbing a condom and lube.
He puts the condom on and makes sure both his cock and Harry's ass are properly lubed as he eases himself inside.
Gil gets himself fully seated inside Harry’s ass and lets him adjust to the size as well as make Harry crave any movement.
You've slipped your pants down to your ankles now, your boxers tented very prominently.
"You enjoying the show Y/N?" Harry says looking back at you.
"Very much," you sigh.
"Go ahead, touch yourself," Gil says.
You free your cock from your boxers and begin to stroke yourself as Gil starts to thrust into Harry.
You listen to the sounds of Gil’s balls smacking against Harry and watch his cock disappear into the pirate.
“God you boys look amazing,” you gasp.
Harry arches his back and Gil pounds into him harder.
Your own hand stills not wanting to cum too quickly and Gil notices your hard cock standing in the air.
"God you're both so hot," Gil grunts as he fucks Harry.
You smile, “Glad you think so, maybe after you’re done with Harry I can have a turn while our first mate catches his breath.”
Gil and Harry nod heavily, loving the idea.
You tell Gil to have Harry ride him, the boys quickly change positions so Harry is hovering over Gil’s shiny cock.
He slides down onto Gil's cock, wasting no time and bouncing quickly.
You watch Harry's cock swing in the air as he moves and you can't help yourself from returning your hand to your own throbbing erection.
Gil is holding Harry’s hips tight and marking up his neck.
Harry is in bliss watching you stroke yourself at the sight of him getting impaled.
You were hesitant about this at first, you thought how could it be any different from just watching porn?
But oh how you were wrong.
You had never seen anything hotter than watching Gil pound Harry from behind.
You're stroking faster and faster as Gil nears his climax.
Part of you knows you should slow down, wait until harry has been filled to have him crawl over so you can paint his pretty face.
"Fuck it," you mumble.
You get out of the chair and walk over to your boyfriends.
With a few more strokes you're cumming on Harry and seeing this makes Gil tip over the edge with you.
Gil grabs Harry’s hips while he’s distracted by you and thrusts hard into him, filling the condom.
Harry sticks his tongue out and catches every shot of cum you give him whileGil reaches down and strokes Harry until he finishes along with you guys.
As you all come down from your highs Gil pulls out of Harry, getting rid of the condom and grabbing some towels to clean Harry up.
After a thorough wipe down, you all cuddle on the bed, Harry between you and gil.
“So... I’m watching next time?” Harry asks making you all laugh.

BER - The girls
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Arella Hook (daughter of Harry Hook and (y/n)/rose) Arwen Legume/Godmother (daughter of Gil and Jane) and (y/n)/Rose Hook, mother of Arella and widowed wife of Harry Hook.
Arella, at the time of the present timeline, is 15-and...very much like her father, stubborn, charming, loyal, brash, and cursed. born with the very same curse her father and grandfather had, plagued with voices that tell her to spill blood. over the years she's gotten a handle on them, and now they're more like annoying friends who tell her to shove a pie in Arwen's face just cause she can. don't mean they have stopped telling her to kill but-they’ve calmed down. a wizz with mechanical weapons' like guns and bombs, Arella can handle up to 50 of Mal’s guards at a time, especially when she is able to set up her electric traps and when she lets the voices take over; and boost her natural strength and speed.
Arwen is 16 and a half fae half human, born under Jane’s once a year mating season with her true love Gil, Arwen's father. Arwen is a powerful subtype of fae, especially since she was born of true love, a wild fae specifically, able to communicate with animals and control and create anything that deals with nature. she inherited her fathers build and stature, plus with her fae side giving her unnatural strength. she looks like she can lift a car, when really she can fucking throw it.
(y/n)/Rose is 37 by the time her daughter(s) are 15&16, having raised them to the best of her knowledge of how Gil, Jane, and Harry would’ve wanted them to be. Arwen is (y/n)/Roses godchild, having been given that honor before she was born. Rose/(y/n) uses Poseidon's trident in connection with Uma’s necklace; which had to be repaired once again after it had been destroyed by Mal. using these two powerful magical artifacts affected Rose/(y/n) in an odd way, once she used to be five feet, five inches tall, now she stands at six feet exactly. Arwen following her at 5ft 9 and Arella at her old height, 5ft5, though Rose/(y/n) has a feeling Arella will have the same growth spurt Harriet did when she hits her older teens. (gurl when from 5ft4 to 6ft3 in like two months when she hit 17)
(y/n)/rose’s main objective is to take Auradon back from Mal’s claws, with the help of her daughter and niece/goddaughter, and hopefully bring back her husband, her bestfriend, and her other bestfriend; Gil from death. a few years after Arella was born, Rose/(y/n) was approached by the blood god himself, Technoblade, a name chosen for him by his followers; the voices. in return for her becoming his disciple, she would take on the curse and gain unyielding strength, speed, durability, and superior fighting skills, all to help her defeat Mal. Rose/(y/n) agreed and for 10 years has had this curse, the same as her husband and daughter.

Being Oogie Boogies Daughter
                                         (And Dating Gil)
You grew up on the Isle because your Father tried to kill Sandy Claws (Santa Claus)
From what you had heard about the man he sounded like a joke
Your Dad owned a Casino on the Isle where you worked odd shifts as a bartender because you were shit at Poker
Every few years he would check in to see if you've improved when you were younger
That’s really the only time you would see him in person
You were mostly raised by Lock, Shock, and Barrel since your Father thought you were a waste of his time since you couldn't gamble even though the only reason he was any good at it was that he would cheat
Growing up around them lead you to fear your Father from hearing them praise all his horrible crimes against Halloween town
Growing up with them was probably a bit different than how most kids were raised in Auradon
 Instead of twinkle twinkle little star, you grew up with lullabies about how you would be eaten in your sleep if you slept to close to the edge of the bed at night
You were taught that you were a monster that everyone was to fear and hate you
Even if you didn't like your Father you had to admit he had a great colour palette
You could control bugs like your Father but you mostly stuck to Butterflies, moths and snakes
Not trusting anyone because growing up with your Fathers Henchmen you were taught to believe everyone had ulterior motives
Not listening to them and trying to make friends
You got screwed over so you gave up and assumed they were right
You bounced around and didn't really have loyalty to anyone until you met Gil
At first, you thought you couldn't trust him like everyone else but when you realized he couldn't keep secrets he slowly gained your trust after many hearts to heart talks and reassurances that the two of you were friends
Being friends with Gil lead you to hanging out around Uma's ship
She didn't mind you because you helped out and didn't expect anything in return
Still not trusting anyone but Gil
•Being friends with Harry and sort of trusting him and feeling a bit loyal to him and the crew
When you walked onto the ship and find out they kidnapped Ben you just sighed, rubbed your eyes and declared that it was 'Too early for this shit '
Going to check on Ben and asking him when the last time he was fed was and if he was overall okay
Yelling at Harry that the ropes were to tight and going to get him food
When Ben gets back to Auradon and ask the VKs about you they have nothing bad to say about you except that you hang around Uma and that your Father is one of the most feared villains since he actually tried to kill Santa Claus
You did Jay's snake tattoo that's wrapped around his ankle for free because he stole the ink
Ben wanted to bring you to Auradon but Mal not letting him because you hang around Uma
You actually hating Uma after she disappeared because you were starting to trust her and because Harry was so upset over her disappearance
Ranting to Gil about how "She knows I dont trust easily and she went and broke it anyway! Does she even know what I could do to her?"
Him being upset because you're upset
Basically, you're all upset
One day when it's just the two of you, you break down because you can't handle it anymore and pouring out your heart to him
Him finding out about how you believe you're a disappointment and you thinking you're a monster so you think that's why everyone abandons you, giving you trust issues
•Gil pulling you into a hug and telling you its all not true
Being kind of weirded out at first because you've never been hugged but eventually relaxing into his embrace
When you, Harry and Gil escape the barrier you freak out at Uma (The boys actually pulled you across)
Evie convinces you to work with her for the time being to save Auradon
•Mal doesn't hide her distaste for you at all
After saving Auradon going to school at Auradon prep and learning so much
"So people are scared of spiders?" "Yes and we dont use fear tactics on children either"
Barley needing goodness class but when your talking in class the one day and Fairy Godmother asks you to read the chalkboard as punishment, she learns you can't read
About 1/4 of the class of new VKs can't read so you all have an extra class
The core 4 realizing they had the best experiences on the Isle because of their parents
Mal deciding that if she's going to be Queen she needs to make amends with you since you a lot of the younger kids respected you and would listen
When she asks for forgiveness you laugh at her
"Do you actually feel sorry or is this an image thing?"
Leaving her stunned because you were right
Going to the wedding anyway because you like Ben
Sitting on his side rather than the VKs and getting funny looks from all the royals
You and Gil just kinda go together because the two of you didn't have dates
Evie shipping the two of you and commenting on it
"You guys are like the cutest couple ever!" the two of you look at each other "Do you want to be?" Gil asked looking down at you since he’s freaking tall and buff af "I dont see why not" then Carlos pipes up-"Wait you guys weren't together?"
Never really having fights because you guys get along so well
If you do fight its just something like what to have for dinner
Spending Sundays alone or with Gil because all these people being nice to you is kind of overwhelming

Evil Karma - Chapter 14
Tumblr media
Chapter 1 - Chapter 13
Word Count: 4,007
Summary: Now that the group has everything they need for the magic elixir, how will they react to giving the Isle of the Lost a little taste of magic?
Pairings: Harry x OC, Uma x OC, Harry x Uma x OC, platonic!Gil x OC, a little bit of platonic!Gil x Harry, past!OC x OC in a flashback scene
Rating: T
Warnings: Mild profanity, descriptive threats of murder, a flashback scene that kind of shines a light on how much of a dick Sofi’s dad was and how much she deserved better, also a little bit of sexual tension at the beginning but honestly not much
Tags: I honestly feel like people have stopped paying attention to this fic so I’m gonna stop with the tags for now but I’ll start them again if enough people ask.
Author’s Note: I am really sorry about the long pause, it’s been kind of hard writing for this fandom when the content for it has started to dwindle. I’m going to try my best to keep the Descendants fandom alive since I really love it but considering it’s been almost a year since the last movie came out, it’s going to be hard.
“How do we know the Doctor’s not going to flake out on us? He’s done it before.” Harry asked as he shifted into the sofa. The four of us, now permanently deciding to include Gil on our plan, had gone back to the room where the plan first became set in stone. I had sent out a sort of distress call to the Doctor himself telling him that the hairs were ready to be mixed into the elixir, which was incredibly hard without any magic, but somewhat possible nonetheless. I looked over to Harry and leaned my head on his shoulder as a small, bored yawn escaped my lips.
“He won’t flake on me. Dr Facilier has worked with my family before. He’s well aware of how powerful my father was; and, if I am anything like my father, he’ll know I’m not a force to mess with either. Unfortunately, my father and I have more in common than I’d like to admit.” I ran a thin finger through his black, matted locks as the four of us sat and waited not so patiently for the doctor to arrive. Noticing my physical affection towards Harry, Uma moved closer next to me and leaned in to whisper to me.
“You know, you’ve been latching onto Harry a lot today, you two didn’t play without me, did you?” Due to our vicinity, both Harry and I heard her words. A small shiver ran up my spine as her voice sent warm air across my skin.
“Of course not, Captain. If a game is what you want, though, I’m sure the two of us would be happy to oblige.” Harry smirked, interjecting the tension between Uma and I. The two looked as if their lips were about to lock when they were both blocked by a lock of blonde hair.
“Not to interrupt, guys, but I hear footsteps.” He was definitely interrupting. But, it was for good reason. Harry, Uma and I moved slightly farther apart as Harry quickly grabbed his hook and I readied my hand on my dagger, prepared in case it was some unwanted visitor walking through the door.
“Will you put your hook down, pirate boy? It’s just me. Sorry if I’m late, but I had a bit of a run in with one of Cruella’s goons.” My eyes quickly widened as I stood and ran towards him like a wild, hungry tiger.
“What the fuck, Doc! What did you tell them? You didn’t see Cruella, did you?” Before I could get close enough for the Doctor to feel the steam from my ears, Uma and Harry interjected the space between. Harry put an arm out to block Facilier from defending himself as Uma moved closer to me in an attempt to calm my anger.
“Relax, babygirl,” Uma calmly spoke, using the pet name that seemed to work on me like a magic spell every time. Yet it only worked when it slipped from her lips. “Cruella’s been indisposed since she saw Maleficent get turned into a lizard at Ben’s coronation. Jafar’s been hiding from the embarrassment of his son becoming a good kid and the Evil Queen...Well I don’t know what’s happened with her. Rumor has it she changed her name to Regina and drank a potion transporting her to some different dimension where Auradon doesn’t even exist. Wherever she is, she’s not here. None of them care about themselves anymore to worry about some little trinkets getting stolen.” With a deep inhale, I took a step back and watched as Uma turned toward the Doctor. She somehow seemed so confident, so professional, no matter the circumstances. I very rarely let somebody else dominate me both in and out of sensual situations. But with Uma, it was like disobeying her meant taking away every ounce of oxygen in my body. I needed her like a fish needs water. “I’m sure they were taken care of? Tell me, Doc, how’d you do it? Choke them until their faces turned blue? Slashed them across their necks and watched as their blood spewed like a fountain? Then again, I guess that would’ve messed up your clothes.”
“I left them unharmed.” Facilier replied after a slight hesitation. This must have been his first time meeting Uma. Otherwise he would’ve been prepared for her high-handed attitude and body language. “Getting my hands dirty would have perked some ears around the Isle. I assume you want this plan to remain secret until the time is right?” Uma nodded her head and turned around, leading the two of us back to the sofa we sat on before. She fixed her eyes on the black, still cauldron in front of us.
“You’d assume correctly. Now, do you have the ingredients or not?” Facilier stood still, looking through his large, black satchel for what we were hoping were the ingredients. Uma, however, was not going to accept silence as an answer. “Now, Doctor. We mustn't lurk in doorways...it’s rude.” She chuckled as she watched Facilier hesitantly walk into the room and towards the cauldron. Then, like a child tentatively unwrapping a present, he started to take the ingredients out of his satchel and placed them on a nearby rickety desk.
“I know you said enough for two gulps. But, I figured it’d be best to take everything instead of leaving some behind and risk getting caught. Should be enough for five elixirs. One for each of you kids...and an extra in case things go sideways.” It was laid out like a buffet. Eight dog bones, a large bowl of dust from Jafar’s stolen lamp,  and five apples with exactly one bite taken out of each. “How many hairs did you get?”
“Ten. The recipe called for five but...I may have gotten carried away. There’s something succulent about hearing his pain, especially since he deserves every single bit of it.” I stated, keeping my voice and face as blank as possible. Despite the Doctor knowing what Ben had done to the boys on Neverland, I refused to let him see me emotional or otherwise affected by it.
“Showing any kind of emotion, especially towards men, is weakness. The second a boy or man sees a tear fall down that wretched face of yours, they’ll know what I’ve known since the day you were born. You could never be a leader.” I heard my own father’s voice echo in my head. I couldn’t help but feel my surroundings grow fuzzy and mute as I only heard his voice. “If you can’t stand up to a measly wolf cub, how could you ever lead these boys in the case of battle?” His one remark to me when I came to him with bite marks and gruesome scratches. He’d sent me into the jungle to hunt for dinner. While walking back to camp with some fox meat, a couple of baby wolves had attacked me and stolen the meat. I came to my father looking for comfort, or at least some kind of potion that would heal the wounds. The only thing I was given was ridicule and mockery. In a way, he was right. The entire island was ransacked, murdered, ruthlessly slaughtered. I couldn’t save them. I can’t bring them back either. Maybe this wasn’t Ben’s fault, or even Mal’s. Maybe it was mine.
“Hey, kid. You still with us?” A dark hand waving in front of my face brought me back to reality. Uma, Harry and Gil had all sat on the sofa while I still stood, my eyes locked on the table of ingredients. “You having second thoughts?” I looked back up at him and quickly shook my head. Was I lying? A little. If I couldn’t help my boys back then, how am I going to help them now? They’re already gone, and there’s no magic in this entire realm that could bring them back. But, this far into the plan, I’m starting to realize that this plan isn’t just for me anymore. It may have started that way. I may have befriended Uma and Harry for the sake of numbers and people that share a common enemy. But, I know now that these people can have some serious potential if they had enough power. This elixir and the succession of this plan could give them that potential. “Alright then, let’s get this started! This elixir ain’t gonna make itself!”
One by one the ingredients slipped into the cauldron. The boiling water shifted colors as each bone was dunked, as each fingerful of dust was sprinkled in, as each apple slice was slowly dropped in. By the time nearly all the ingredients were mixed together, the bubbling water had changed from clear to a murky, dirty dark brown. Harry looked up in confusion, nearly disgusted by the color despite being surrounded by it. “Isn’t the elixir supposed to be gold? Or green? Or...something not so disgusting?”
“It’s because we haven’t put in the key ingredient.” Uma replied, everybody’s eyes shifting towards me. I took the vial out of my pocket and watched as the hairs glimmered gold.
“Wow, and people say Rapunzel has magic hair.” Gil chuckled, amazed by the sparkling shimmer inside the glass vial. As I go to open the vial, Gil interjects with his voice once more. “Wait, um...Doctor F?”
“Facilier, it’s Doctor Facilier.”
“You said there’d be enough of this potion thing for the four of us to drink it but..Harry and I don’t have magic. What’s going to happen to us?” Everyone paused where they stood. For once, Gil had actually made a good point. This was only my third time making this elixir, the past two times making them for some sick fairies who needed the extra push to fly again. I had never tested them on people not Neverland native, much less a person not born with or capable of magic.
“Well, if you really think about it...magic is basically taking your strongest traits and making them unstoppable. Even without my abilities, I’ve always had a good read on people, making it easy to manipulate their opinions and emotions. Uma’s never been able to use her mother’s magic, but she still feels better when she’s close to water. Don’t you, Captain?” Uma shrugged and nodded her head. “So, maybe you’ll be strong enough to lift the whole ship with just one arm. Imagine how cool that’d be.” Gil gasped and smiled, surely encaptured in that concept. I looked to the cork on the vial, then back at everyone else. “So, shall we?” Everyone nodded eagerly and I could hear a small cackle of excitement from Harry as I opened the cork and dropped the royal hairs in one by one. By the time all ten hairs were mixed in, the potion had turned a glimmery, sparkling gold just as we thought it would. Uma grabbed a ladle she had snatched from the Chip Shoppe’s kitchen and scooped enough to fill the glass vial to the top.
“So, who’s drinking first?” There was a small silence in the room. Whether it was from fear or from not wanting to sound too selfish, nobody vocally volunteered themselves to take the first sip of the elixir.
“You should, Uma. You are the Captain, after all.” Harry mumbled, a hint of his sincere admiration and affection peeking through a small smile. Uma looked to me, as if wanting my consent to be the first to indulge in this magic elixir.
“Go on, Captain. Don’t worry, if it tastes anything like the Neverland elixir, it should be easy to swallow.” I slowly took the empty ladle from her hand and placed it on the empty desk that once held the elixir’s ingredients. I held onto her empty hand with both of mine and let my fingers caress over her skin. After a deep inhalation, Uma chugged down the sparkling potion and swallowed it whole. A few seconds of silence and slight fear went by before Uma took in a quick gasp, gripping tighter onto my hand to keep herself balanced. I could see her eyes flash a bright, ocean blue for just a moment before returning to their near charcoal shade. Harry and Gil immediately stood up from the sofa and rushed to her side, ready to lift her up if she were to feel faint.
“Uma? Are you okay? What happened?” Harry asked, leaning in to make sure the look on her face wasn’t too pale or otherwise sickly. A second of silence scared everyone else in the room, but after she started to let out her infamously wicked and alluring snicker, we knew she was okay.
“I’ve never felt more exhilarated in my entire life! Nothing was happening at first and then, it felt like my entire body was this massive tidal wave crashing onto shore. And now, I feel like there’s something different going through me. Not blood or thoughts but, something more.” I smiled and helped Uma stand up fully, taking both her hands in mine.
“That’s how magic is supposed to feel. Here, I’ll pour the next one. Go ahead and sit down, you may feel a bit woozy if you stand too long.” As Gil led her down to the sofa, I took the ladle and scooped yet another vial full of the delectable potion. “Does anyone want the next one?” Again, there was silence. As I was about to take the second swig myself, I felt a strong hand take the vial out of mine. I looked up to see Gil holding the potion in his hand, eyeing it in a longing sort of way. “Go ahead, Gil. I promise we won’t let anything bad happen to you.” Gil took a quick nod, certain of our promise, and downed the potion in a single gulp.
This time, Harry and I waited more in excitement then in fear. Gil’s reaction wasn’t as huge as Uma’s but there definitely was one. One second, Gil was standing with the empty vial in his hand. The next he jumped high and shook away a bunch of energy coursing through his body, as if he had just taken his first shot in a long night of drinking. “Holy shit, that was awesome! You really think I could lift the ship, Sofi?”
“Easy there, Gil. Save the strength for tomorrow, okay?” I laughed as he started to roughhouse a bit with Harry. The two had a relatively short round of horseplay before Gil suddenly had Harry over his shoulder. Considering the two boys’ relatively similar weight and muscle mass, we never thought that was possible. Then, we had realized that my theory had turned out to be correct. Gil’s new spout of magic had brought a whole new meaning to him being ‘the muscle’ of the group.
“Okay, okay, okay, now I want some of this action. Pour it up, duckling!” Harry near shouted like an excited child on Christmas morning. I grabbed the ladle and poured a third portion of the elixir into the glass vial. With no hesitation, Harry took the vial and lifted it high as he poured the potion down his throat, letting the last drop linger on his tongue. He felt a rush immediately, but from what I could see, there was little to no physical change showing that he now had magic. He was potentially on a rush of adrenaline, meaning whether the elixir had given him magic or not, he definitely felt a physical rush of change. There was only one way to know for sure if the potion had worked on him.
“I guess it’s my turn.” I quietly huffed as I poured another portion of the elixir into the empty vial. A part of me was fearful of the outcome. I knew the potion would work correctly, but I had no idea the effect it would have on me. These past three months were the first time I had ever gone without using my magic. Three months of no magic after who knows how many years of near constant magic was wild enough. But taking all that magic back in at once? I was diving into the ocean without knowing whether or not I’d drown. But, if it would help my Uma take Mal down and claim the leadership she deserves, that’s a risk I’d be willing to take. I slowly tilted my head back and let the elixir slide down my tongue. The taste was oddly familiar. Tangy like a fresh orange with a hint of something herby and earthy. It tasted like home. As the elixir was wholly consumed, I laid the vial and ladle aside as I put my hands on the nearby desk for support in case of any sudden dizziness.
What I felt next was both euphoric and catastrophic. The thoughts of others didn’t slowly slip in through my ears. They rushed inside my brain, nearly knocking me out with their speed and intensity. I could feel my eyes burning with an emerald flame, something only the kids on Neverland had seen. By the time it was all over, I was electrified with the magic I had once called my home.
“Is she okay? She looks a little faint. Maybe I should check on her? Should I ask Uma to check on her?”
“Wow, that looked like a lot. I wonder if she felt everything I felt when I drank it. Or maybe she felt more since she’s used her magic before? Maybe Harry and I should check on her.”
“These damn crazy kids. I wouldn’t be doing all of this if those Auradon bastards didn’t kill my boy. But nobody messes with my kids. If they even lay a finger on Celia I’ll have all their heads.”
“Can you really curl your hair with your finger? I see Uma and Sofi do it all the time...maybe it’s just a girl thing.”
Their thoughts began to slow down enough for me to thoroughly listen to them. “You guys don’t need to check on me, I’m fine. I’m more than fine.” I stood up straight and wiped some dust off my shoulders before sitting next to Gil and Uma on the sofa. “Also, Gil, Uma and I don’t curl our hair with our fingers. Our hair is just naturally curly. If you wanna curl your hair so badly, I can give you a ride to Lady Tremaine’s.” Gil’s perked up, confused brow caused a small rise of laughs throughout the room. The thoughts in the room began to quiet down as I slowly gained control over my magic again, putting the minds of others in the background of my brain. As we all grew adjusted to the elixir and its effects, Facilier poured the final scoop of the elixir into the vial and corked it shut as he handed it to Uma.
“Keep this close with you. The elixir ain’t permanent. You may need this if those Auradon bastards come at you with something strong.” As he saw Uma slip it into her jacket pocket, he walked over to me and glared at me sincerely. “I don’t know what kind of second thoughts you may be having, but you’re going through with this. If not for me, then for Mateo. He would’ve wanted you to keep going.”
I thought back to the moment that I knew Mateo was going to be a really close friend. It was the same day I had gotten attacked by the wolf cub. I sat alone in my tent, attempting to dress my wounds with palm leaves and hold back the pained sobs when those attempts had failed. Suddenly, I heard the flap of my tent wave open. “I heard someone’s got some new battle scars..can I see them?” I kept my mouth shut and attempted to close him off, knowing that the second I said a word, tears would rush down my face. “I brought something from the med tent that may take the edge off. Do you want it?” I turned and nodded my head, still keeping quiet to keep too much ‘weakness’ from peeking through.
As Mateo dressed the wounds correctly and sprinkled on some healing pixie dust, the pain from the wounds began to subside excluding a small sting from the pixie dust. But the emotional pain, the ping in my chest from my own father telling me I could never be a leader, that’s what was hurting me the most. “Mateo...do you think I made a mistake?”
“Made a mistake? Doing what?”
“Choosing to age, to grow up. I thought it would help me become stronger, faster, smarter. But I don’t think it’s doing any of that. I couldn’t keep a wolf cub off of me!” A shred of my anger began to shine through as everything my father had said came rushing back.
“Well, to be fair, your hands were a little full with all of that fox meat. Pan probably should’ve sent someone out with you.” Mateo chuckled, attempting to lighten the mood as he always did.
“It’s not funny! I couldn’t fight off a wolf cub, my swordfighting is total shit, this new magic I’ve been developing lately is completely out of control...I can’t do anything! What if my dad is right? What if I’m just not fit to be a leader?” As Mateo dressed the last bite mark, he shifted closer to me and wrapped his arm around me, pulling me in for comfort.
“Okay, your swordfighting isn’t the best. And yeah, you’ve got some new powers that you don’t really know how to control yet. But, who threw a dagger so far and so well that it pushed an apple off of Reggie’s head and into a tree?”
“...I did.”
“And who taught Felix how to use the tidal waves to tell if a storm was coming?”
“...I did.”
“And who saved a Lost Boy’s life by catching an arrow that was heading straight for them with her bare hand?” That Lost Boy was him. My dad was angry and drunk and thought killing him would be a good way to piss off Facilier and get a good bloodbath going. But something in my gut clicked fast enough to move Mateo out of the way and catch the arrow to prevent it from hitting anybody else. It could’ve killed me, but I didn’t care.
“I did.”
“So you have some things you need to improve on. That’s fine. But do you know what you’re best at, Sofi? Your strongest skill is helping the other boys. Whether you’re keeping them happy, keeping them safe, or helping them grow in the areas that they need improvement. You never back down on an opportunity to help the Lost Boys. If that’s not a sign of a good leader, I don’t know what is.”
As my mind came back to the present day, I realized that I shouldn’t be having any sort of second thoughts about this plan. Succeeding in making Mal suffer and taking over Auradon would not only be giving the Lost Revenge crew the potential and inclusion they deserve, but it would be avenging the deaths of everyone I’ve ever cared about. It’d be another instance of me not backing down on an opportunity to help those I loved. This plan will prove that I am, in fact, a good leader. As I watched Facilier pack up his satchel and begin to leave the room, I stood and shouted towards him. “I’m going to make him proud, Doc. I promise.” At the sudden yell, Harry, Uma and Gil all stood to listen. “We were all brutally wronged by Auradon. Their system has been suppressing us, starving us, killing us for far too long! Tomorrow, we will take Auradon into our hands and give every single kid on this Isle the chance they deserve! If we have to spill some blood to do it...then let the blood spill. Rest up, everyone. Because tomorrow, we fight!”

Treat You Better | Harry Hook
Tumblr media
Dᴇsᴄʀɪᴘᴛɪᴏɴ: [Y/N] is a patient person- they got that from their father, Scar. So when their girlfriend, Mal, leaves for Auradon, they can wait it out; but Harry Hook, who’s been crushing on the feisty lion since they were ten, certainly can’t.
Pᴀɪʀɪɴɢ: Harry Hook x Reader | Past Mal x Reader
Wᴏʀᴅ Cᴏᴜɴᴛ: 1.3K
A/N: This is my first fic on here, so please, be gentle ;-;. I tried quite hard on it, and I hope it’s enjoyable for you! I thought it turned out a bit cliche, so I made a little quip. Let’s see if you can find it ;).
- - -
You shoved through the individuals warning the marketplace, sending those who protested sinister glares. You cursed the magic- or, more so, lack of magic on the Isle for your human form- you could’ve been an utterly terrifying lion, but since no magic existed on the Isle, humanistic animals didn’t either.
So, you were stuck like this- a weak pathetic human, with no sharp claws or loud roar to speak of.
Usually, Mal would get your through the marketplace with ease; if people didn’t find your girlfriend intimidating, they’d find her mother in that boat. But Mal had gone off with prissy princes and princesses in Auradon- but that was fine.
You could wait, right?
You went up the dock of the Lost Revenge, meeting with your crew. Uma, the leader, Harry Hook, the first mate, Gil LeGume, the second mate, and you- the third mate. You certainly weren’t offended by your role, and your cleverness and cunning certainly weren’t ignored, but you would’ve thought Harry, your arguably best friend, could’ve gotten you just a slightly higher role, eh?
“Ah, [Y/N], my love! We’ve been waitin’ on ye’.“ Harry said, wrapping an arm around your shoulder. You snapped your sharp teeth at your friend, the only thing left of your lion bone structure, but he didn’t back off. Why would he? He knew you’d never hurt him. You’d proved that when you were both eleven and couldn’t bring yourself to bite him in the throat when he stole your food.
“Woah, there, tiger! Gil said. You sent a warning glare at him. “Sorry, lion-”
You smiled and nodded at the annoyingly common misconception, before noting the absence of Ursula’s daughter. That’s when you’d remembered- she’d been gone for weeks now. You frowned, but quickly fixed your face back into your permanent scowl.
“I see yer’ missin’ Uma,” Harry said, looking at you softly. He frowned, a look not exactly custom for Harry- you liked the insane smirk more, personally, considering he’d found he look at age thirteen and he’d fortunately stuck to it for your viewing pleasure- “we are too.” He said gesturing to Gil and himself.
“Yeah. Where could she be anyway? Whenever she vanishes, she usually comes back pretty fast.” You scoffed.
“Yeah, I know,” Harry said. “But- I got some good news for ye’, darlin’. Mal and her little crew are back- and we got their bikes.” He grinned at you.
You knew you probably should’ve been more excited at the prospect of the bikes that could get you out of the Isle, but when he mentioned Mal, that’s when you perked up. “Mal? Mal’s back?” You said, sounding like a happy puppy- or, a cat would be more accurate considering your heritage.
It made Harry sick to his stomach.
Mal had left you for that prissy Auradon place, and you still loved her. He truly couldn’t understand it. Cats weren’t supposed to be loyal- that was a dog's job. He snickered to himself- maybe he should tell that one to Carlos if they ran into each other- bloody hell, he was such a lap dog, Harry was surprised he was the kid of someone who hated dogs so avidly.
But, back on topic- “why are ye’ so excited over that bratty dragon’s return? She left ye’, remember?” Harry asked, almost angrily.
“I- Harry, she said she’d come back. And she did!” You said, eyes hopeful. Harry just gagged.
“Whatever. Gil, [Y/N]-” Harry forced his smirk back onto his face, “we ride with the tide- right into Auradon.”
You all cheered.
///
You three most definitely weren’t expecting to meet with The Core Four the second you reached the bridge separating the hell of the Isle and heaven of Auradon. But, you were focused on Mal- she looked so different...less evil.
You hated that. Your partner in crime turned into a pretty princess. What a shame.
You shook your mind of your thoughts. “Well, what do we have here?” You said, strutting gracefully towards the four VKs gone good. “If it isn’t our own band of VKs- or, ahem, forgive me, AKS.” You said, scowling as you jabbed a finger into Mal’s chest. You couldn’t help but chortle when the blue gem was dropped from her hand. “Whoopsies! How...clumsy of me.”
“[Y/N]! That was Hade’s Ember! Oh, what do I-” Mal raved about the Ember, and you scowled. What the fuck? She couldn’t even say she missed you, she was so absorbed in that Ember, goddamnit-
“Drop something?” You heard a familiar voice, and you grinned, and then, in unison, you, Harry, and Gil yelled out your praises.
“Uma!”
“That’s my name~,” She said, and you happily clasped your hands with Harry’s. Harry refused to let a blush slide across his face. Refused.
Mal held her hand out to Uma, who was holding the Hadesforsaken blue stone. “Uma, I need that.” Your girlfriend- was she even that, anymore?- said.
“And why should she give it to you? For all we know, you’ll just abandon it on an island somewhere-” You glared at her. “Like you abandoned me.” Uma put a hand on your shoulder, trying to comfort you, but you went on, Harry watching almost enthusiastically.
“Sure, Uma’ll will give you the Ember- for a trade.” You said, tearing a gold band Mal had stolen from Jafar’s shop off your finger. “You see this? It’s worthless because you broke a promise. So why do I need a ring?” You said, chucking it into the murky depths, refusing to shed a tear. You didn’t know why you were suddenly so aware of Mal’s wrongdoings- maybe Harry’s speech did a number on you.
Harry grinned but made it so you couldn’t see. And on went the trade.
///
You felt yourself waking up from something. Your joints were stiff and pained, and you saw that you were accompanied by some of your companions- Evie, Carlos...
“What happened?” You asked, before memories flooded back into your head. The moving fucking knights, the berry bush with Jay, Gil, And Harry, Mal closing the fucking Barrier- wait. “Shit. Where’s Mal? Where’s Harry? Where’s-”
“Right ‘ere, love.” You heard a Scottish accent from behind you, and almost instinctively, your arms wrapped around Harry’s frame. You weren’t overly affectionate by any means, but seeing Harry okay was a huge relief.
“Jesus Christ, Harry- I gotta find Mal-” You said, about to sprint off but somehow Harry caught you by the collar, your cat-like reflexes not working to your advantage. “Goddamnit, Harry-”
“No, [Y/N]. I’m tired of hearin’ ye’ go on about Mal. She’s not yours, anymore, okay? She’s with Ben, and she’s gonna pop out a bunch of prissy princes and princesses out with ‘im. She forgot about ye’, [Y/N], why can’t ye’ see that?” Harry went on.
“Because, she-” You thought for a moment. She had left you, hadn’t she? When she left for Auradon, she never even tried to send a letter. When she came back for Ben, she’d barely acknowledged you. And now? She was so absorbed with her rivalry with Uma, she barely knew you were there. “She...she left me...” You said, voice cracking. Harry held you close to him. “She...left....me...”
You felt like you were in a cliche romance novel they had in Auradon; the main character comes to grips that her former love interest doesn’t love her anymore and the main character finds love in the current love interest- but, maybe that was just how it was gonna play out.
“I didn’t- Harry, you wouldn’t leave me, would you? Right?” You just needed that final confirmation, jesus christ-
And suddenly, you felt lips crash against yours. You didn’t realize how much you missed the hugs and pecks Mal used to give you until you found yourself gripping onto Harry tightly and running your hands through his hair, because fuck, that felt nice.
You pulled away from him, smiling. He finally responded to your question. “That an answer, love?” Harry asked. You leaned your head against his chest, smiling softly.
“Yeah, I ‘spose it is.” You sighed contentedly. Maybe he could treat you better than Mal ever did.

Gil x Fem!Reader - Hurts Like Hell, Darling
Requested: Nope, I just love angst, soulmate AU’s and Gil. I wanted to make this into a edit with the song Hurts Like Hell, just then I realised I can’t :(
Warning: ANGST
~~~ You had always sought out wonder. Your mother, Wendy Darling, always remarked on how alike you were to her when she was young.
As a child, your most recurring memory had been a simple one.
A beach. Sand like white gold between your toes, wind caressing your (h/c) locks and yellow sun dress; ocean blue and vast and the Isle always on the edge the sky like the island would fall off the edge of the earth at any moment.
Lastly, a red string. Tied tight around your forefinger that you would use to point out at the ocean that drowned the line of red thread. That’s where you met your best friend, a honey brown haired boy with observant hazel green eyes. He would come up to the shore and sit by you, both of your parents chatting amongst themselves.
He called himself Ben, Ben Florian. Politely, just as your mother had taught, you replied that you were (Y/N) (L/N). Back then, you had simply been two little children looking out into the ocean for answers to who they would spend their life with.
Questioning why your soulmates, your other halves, were so painfully far away when you were supposed to have fairy-tale lives.
~~~ At sixteen years old, you met Mal, Evie, Carlos and Jay. The most children of the most notorious villains. It was disheartening, yet at the same time, uplifting, to see Mal and Ben come together. To watch Jay and Lonnie dance around each other in a game of cat and mouse. To observe the blossoming love between Evie and Doug.
Even Carlos, who was born without a thread, seemed to find love in the form of a clumsy blue fairy who was also thread-less. They also shyly stepped around each other, Carlos trying to love a girl who was too oblivious. You hoped that they both had a happily ever after.
You had hoped that maybe one of the Isle kids that came along would be your soulmate, but you only got the bitter taste of disappointment.
At the end of the day, you did as you always did. You looked out your window, finger twirling around the red string absentmindedly and imagined what your soulmate would be like.
Who knew that Mal’s disappearance would give you the chance to find out.
~~~ Gil sat on the edge of the island he called his home, swaying legs dangling over the ledge as he stared out at Auradon. He looked down at his lap, smiling wistfully at the red string wrapped around his pointer finger as he pinched it between his fingers delicately. He can’t remember when this tradition started, but he knew he had been doing it ever since he was a young Isle boy trying to fit into his older brother’s shoes.
Gazing out at the future the string had promised him. A girl from Auradon. Maybe even a princess of his own he had been told about by rueful villains and disgruntled old hags. The idea made his chest swell with pride. Though he didn’t know her name, nor her face, he knew she’d be perfect for him.
Hopefully he’d be able to know soon, because at this rate, he’d never meet her.
“Gil!” Harry snapped Gil out of his trance, pulling the boy back up to stand. Harry’s red string was vibrant with connection, having already found his soulmate. The ruthless Captain and chilling first mate. It suited Uma and Harry.
“Seriously, out ‘ere again?” Harry rolled his black lined eyes, shaking his head in disappointment.
“I like it here. It makes me feel closer to her.” Gil smiled softly, brown eyes warm even as he took in the staggering distance between him and her.
“Give it up, Gilly. It’s for yer own good.” Harry waved away Gil’s fantasies with his hook. “It will lead ta nothin’ worthwhile, that’s for sure. Good just doesn’t love evil, Gils.” Harry said simply, though he did genuinely feel sorry for his friend. He’d be out of his mind more than he already was if he had never found Uma.
“Alright…Alright.” Gil sighed softly, taking one last look of longing toward Auradon before following Harry into the chaos of the Isle.
~~~ Gil was walking around the markets aimlessly. It was a usual occurrence for him. It’s not like big things happened on the Isle often anyway. The most fun Gil had in a week was poker with Gonzo and Jonas and arm wrestling with Lazar and Hans Jr.
Gil stumbled in surprise when a tug pulled on his finger. He spun around, expecting a random isle kid to be trying to snag one of his rings, but instead he found his string thrumming with a more vibrant red. He snatched the end and let it pass through his fingers as he followed it slowly. His eyes flickered about to every corner and hidey hole he could think of, which was a lot on a dreary place like the Isle of the Lost.
Gil’s heart jackhammered in his chest when his gut told him he was getting closer. He almost had her. His Auradon soulmate.
~~~ You huddled into yourself as you walked around the Isle streets, your dusty yellow leather outfit feeling tighter than it was in your anxious state. You’re on the Isle for ten minutes top and you’ve already lost your friends. Just great!
You felt a tug on your fingers and your heartrate skyrocketed just as you bumped into a broad man. You stuttered out a quick apology, stepping back in fear before you saw his face. He was handsome, with a boyish smile and golden curls, outfit dirty but flattering on his muscular body.
“I found you!” He broke out into a grin, making him look much younger than he had originally appeared. His words registered into your mind and you felt the air suck out of your lungs.
“You’re…”
“I’m Gil, your soulmate. I’ve been waiting for you since I was a kid, I’m so glad you’re here!” Gil said giddily, wrapping you in a strong hug without warning. You groaned in pain as his crushing grip and he instantly let you go. “Sorry. I’m just – I’m so excited. I never thought I’d meet you.”
“Me…Me either.” You breathed, looking up at him in awe. He was perfect, practically bursting with good vibes. “I’m (Y/N).” You put your hand out, the one wrapped in thread and he took it in his own. Instead of shaking, he bent down and placed a kiss on the soft skin of your hand.
“You’re a princess, right? I had always imagined what you’d be like.” He looked over your leather jacket and denim jeans. “Not exactly what I expected, but I like it.” He grinned, accepting the rough disguise with ease.
“I…I’m not a princess. Not really.” You licked your bottom lip nervously. “I’m just an ordinary girl from Auradon.”
“Either way, you’re very pretty.” Gil’s brown eyes were alight with happiness as he took in your features. Your cheeks heated at the compliment.
“You know, we don’t exactly know anything about each other, Gil. So…let’s start there, while I look for my friends?” Who were you to deny yourself a chance to get to know your soulmate?
“Oh, well, I really like eggs.” Gil hummed, one finger up as he began listing things. “I was raised a hunter, but I wasn’t very good at it, so my dad dropped me. I never finished Dragon Hall either, so I’m more strength than brains according to Uma.” You laughed, shaking your head in amusement.
“You’re very literal, huh?” You giggled. “Well, seeing as you told me a few things, I’ll tell you some things about myself too.” You looped your arm into his with a natural ease that almost surprised you. No wonder they were soulmates. They fit together like cream and jam. You began to walk with him as you spoken. “I was born in London but raised in Auradon. I spent most of my childhood by the shore of the coast. Searching for you.” You admitted with a giddy smile, leaning more into him. “My best friend happens to be the famous King Ben, and his lady, Mal, is the reason we met in the first place. He was also looking for her.”
“Wow, you know the King? Crazy. My dad hates the kid’s dad. Something about being a burly beast and wishing he had offed him when he had the chance.” Gil shrugged, throwing the comment aside. You paused, body freezing.
“Gil…If you aren’t a hunter, what do you do now?” You asked quietly.
“Huh?” He looked down at you curiously. “I’m a pirate, second mate actually. I know, I know, not what you’d expect of the son of Gaston. I get it all the time.” Gil waved his hand in front of him like it was nothing, but to you it was everything.
A son of Gaston and a pirate? You had been raised on the idea of pirates being brutes, cold and ruthless with nasty breath and pointy swords. Yet Gil was nothing like that. He was smiley and goofy, adorably honest too. To think you was a Gaston. Gaston was vain and brutish and cocky, yet Gil seemed the complete opposite.
You had to go. You had to find Ben and get Mal and go home. What would your mother think if she knew your soulmate was a pirate? What would Ben think if he knew your other half was a Gaston?
“I…I have to go.” You slipped your arm out from around his, backing away hesitantly, unsure of where exactly to go on an island you had no map to. “I’m sorry.” You turned onto the toe of your boot to make a run for it, but Gil grabbed your wrist before you could leave.
“Wait! Please, don’t go.” Gil begged. “I’ve always dreamed of meeting my soulmate. Of proving everyone who said you’d never come for me wrong.” Your heart fell through to your stomach, making you feel sick at the idea of pulling away from him. Gil slipped his hands off your wrist to cup your hand instead, kissing the uncovered flesh with warm lips. “Stay with me. Please.”
You swallowed thickly, biting your lower lip as you blinked back tears. You pulled your hand away from his, red string be damned.
“I can’t love a Gaston…Let alone a pirate.” You whispered, disappearing into the darkness of the Isle with soft thuds of boots hitting concrete and dirt. Gil’s heart plummeted in his chest, watching you go.
~~~ Gil walked around the markets slowly, dragging his feet sadly as he thought of your words, mulling them over in his head. It hurt every time he thought of it. “Sorry.” He said when he bumped shoulders with another, looking up. “Evie? Carlos? Jay? What’re you doing here?”
“Uh…”
“Come on, you remember me, right? Here’s a hint, my dads quick, he’s slick, and his neck is…” He gestured to his neck. “Incredibly thick?” He wanted to say it with more pep, but remembering his lineage wasn’t helping his mood right then.
“Gil. It’s nice to see you again…” Evie greeted tensely. Gil turned to the other guy with them, one he felt was vaguely familiar.
“Who’s this?” He looked at the brown-haired guy and noticed the yellow of a poster on the wall. He looked between the new guy and the poster, it clicking in his head suddenly. “You’re King Ben!” Gil said loudly. “Oh my god, you’re – you’re the king – “
“We have to go.” Evie pushed Ben ahead of her, Carlos and Jay following behind her on quick feet.
“Wait, you guys…” Gil frowned before he realised Uma would love this. “I’ve gotta tell Uma!” He jumped up happily, recent woes shoved aside as he raced to the fish and chip shop.
~~~ “Mal, Evie, Carlos, Jay!” You called in relief as you ran up to them. “I’ve been looking for you guys everywhere. Where’s Ben?”
“He’s gone.” Mal huffed. “Uma took him.” Mal’s eyes glowed a fierce green.
“Uma?” You questioned in confusion.
“She’s the daughter of Ursula. She now runs her own pirate crew on the Isle with Harry Hook and Gil LeGume.” Evie explained, sighing.
“Gil LeGume…?” You breathed in shock.
“One of three sons of Gaston.” Carlos filled in. You let out a shuddered breath, sadness coiling in your chest.
Gil was really a pirate it seemed…It was just never meant to be.
~~~ It was hard to look at Gil, his crestfallen face, so you avoided looking at him at all. You simply stood behind Evie and Jay, eyes glued to Ben. Your heart pounded in your chest, breathing shallowly in anticipation. You would get Ben back. Mal had this. Once you had him, you could go…It sounded easier said than done when your eyes connected with Gil by accident.
You swallowed thickly, casting your gaze down to your feet in guilt. Suddenly, your string tugged on your finger.
“No, not right now…” You cursed under your breath as Harry led Ben over to them for the trade. Suddenly, like a hard pull of a rope, you were tugged in the direction of Gil just as he was too. You tried to pull back, but Gil only got closer until you were inches apart between Uma and Mal, fingers touching from where the string had shrunken length wise.
It was quiet as they stared at each other in shock, hearts pounding. You looked away from Gil, trying to deny what was obvious when you saw Ben’s wide eyes.
“…Please don’t be mad at me…I didn’t mean for my soulmate to be a Gaston.” You begged, Gil’s fingers twitching to curl into yours. You couldn’t deny how good it felt to have him in your grasps. Ben shook his head.
“I’m no – “ “Enough!” Uma huffed, taking the wand as Ben was shoved into Mal. “It’s time to take down this blasted barrier.” She rose the wand high and chanted her own spell. When nothing happened, she yelled in fury, breaking the wand. Withdrawing her sword, the battle was on.
Harry pulled Gil from you roughly, growling at him. “Your soulmate just had to be a Darling, didn’t she?” Was all you heard before Carlos lead you away to Lonnie for a sword. You defended yourself against a girl in a loose grey and green outfit, blocking her attacks instead of lashing at her.
You jumped down the dock towards Ben who had been wrestled down by Gil, kicking Gil in the back.
“Leave him alone, Gil!” Gil turned around in surprise, not daring to raise his sword to you.
“(Y/N) – Woah!” Carlos swung under the rail of the dock above them and kicked Gil into the water below, cutting off your sentence.
“Gil!” You cried out, looking over the rail in horror. Was he okay? Could he even swim?
Gil’s head broke the surface with a gasp. Relief flooded your senses. A tanned hand grabbed your arm and you were dragged towards your escape by Jay.
“Come on, we gotta go!”
“Wait – Jay, let me go, please, let me say goodbye – “
“We don’t have time, (Y/N)!” Jay snapped, and you shut your lips. Looking back, you saw Gil climb back onto the dock, wet hair curling around his face as he looked at you.
An explosion of purple blocked him from view as the darkness of the tunnel enveloped you.
“GIL!”
~~~ Gil can’t remember running his fast in his entire life. All he knew was that he had to get to her before she disappeared for good. He couldn’t let the best thing in his life, even if it was a few minutes, escape him.
He didn’t want to lose his soulmate.
Gil skidded to a stop as he got to the broken bridge of the Isle, fingers just brushing the limo’s back light as it drove across its magic bridge.
“(Y/N)! Don’t go!” He shouted despite his ragged breaths, staring out after his vanishing future.
You spun around in your seat, tears already in your eyes as you looked out the back window before Jay could stop you.
“GIL!” You pressed your stringed hand against the window, finishing you could reach out and touch him. You cried out in pain when the string suddenly pulled taunt and cut into your finger. Gil fell back onto his hind as he clutched his hand, the red thread tightening painfully.
Suddenly, the limo hits the barrier and the pressure eases on both their ends. The limo passes through and the thread severs.
“NO!” They both yelled, clutching their hands and the string that hung limply between their fingers.
“(Y/N) – “
You hit Jay, again and again as he tried to get you to sit back down and comfort you. Sobs wrecked your chest as Gil disappeared from sight, nails biting into the back seats just as your teeth did to your lower lip, trying to stifle your tears.
“Why did he have to be a villain?” You whispered brokenly, falling back into Jay in defeat.
~~~ It was like a hole in your chest, just getting bigger and bigger until it would swallow you whole. You knew the only thing that would fill that hole was Gil, but he wasn’t there anymore.
While everyone else was getting ready for Cotillion, you were hauled up in your room alone, curled into yourself as you touched the severed red thread delicately. Your tears had grown fewer since the limo, but they were still hot and painful as you took in what would once have been your future. It was now gone.
Forever. You would forever be without your other half. It was a cruel fate. What did you do to deserve this?
You jumped up from where you laid when the door opened, wiping your face clean of tears, but you probably still looked like a mess. Mal looked at you with pity, walking up to your bed to sit by you. She rubbed your back gently, and you threw yourself into the comfort of her arms to cry even harder. Your entire body shook as she squeezed you in a hug.
“I’m so sorry, (Y/N). I could never…I could never imagine losing Ben like that.” Mal petted your hair soothingly and you hiccupped a sob.
“I’m never going to see him again. Even the universe thinks so.” You sniffled pitifully.
“…Jay promised to take me back to the Isle if I couldn’t stand to stay another day.” You looked up in shock.
“You’re leaving? What about Ben – I – I can’t let you break your soulmate bond with Ben, I just can’t – It hurts so much, Mal, it’s like nothing I’ve ever felt before –“
Mal cut your words short with a soft ‘shh’.
“No, no, I’m not leaving Ben. I don’t think I ever could.” Mal admitted, taking your hands into hers. “I just wanted you to know that…That offer extends to you as well. If you really can’t stand another day with Gil…Jay will take you back to the Isle.” You hugged Mal tightly.
“Thank you. Thank you, Mal, thank you so much…”
“Just…Stay for the Cotillion at least. Like a goodbye party.” Mal looked sorrowful at the idea of you leaving, but you knew she would understand.
“Okay... I promise, I’ll come.”
~~~ As everyone danced along the soaked floor of the deck, you found yourself staring out into the dark ocean to the Isle of the Lost. Looking down at your red string, you knew you would take up Jay’s offer.
You loved your friends, but you knew your life wouldn’t be whole without the Gaston.
As the ruffled top of your loose yellow dress swayed with the breeze, you knew what your decision was. Across the sea, Gil was watching the TV, fingering his snipped red string. He saw her in the corner of the screen staring out at the Isle and smiled, hope filling his chest that he’d see her again one day.
~~~ “Are you ready to go?” Jay asked solemnly as you packed your things. You swallowed down your doubts and nodded slowly.
“This…This is for Ben and the others. To help them understand.” How could you say any of this without breaking? You had to write it down instead.
Jay took the note carefully, like it was a prized jewel, and nodded silently.
“Okay. I’ll keep good care of it.” He pursed his lips. “Let’s go, shall we?”
“We shall.” You stepped around him, bag over his shoulders as you both snuck to the limos. Once you were inside, you watched as your home rolled away. All your memories were disappearing behind you, and you couldn’t help but shed a tear.
To have what the universe promised you, you had to leave behind your history. It seemed like a twisted fate. You fiddled with your red thread, remembering why you were doing all this. Jay parked the limo on the Isle and you opened the door, breathing it the polluted air with a sigh. You wiped away your tiny teardrop with a finger and turned to Jay who leant against the limo, arms crossed and expression filled with sadness.
“Thank you, Jay. Really.” You hesitantly hugged him around the middle, letting him hold you close in one final goodbye. His thumb stroked the back of your head, cheek pressed against the top of your head. He turned his head just a fraction to place a kiss there.
“Be safe.” He murmured. “And if he ever hurts you, I’ll beat the hell out of him.” You pulled out of Jay’s arms and smiled up at him.
“I know.” You pressed a kiss of gratitude against his cheek, stepping back from him. “Goodbye Jay.”
“(Y/N), look!” Jay said in shock and you looked down at your hand. Before their eyes, the red string grew and disappeared behind a corner, bursting a brilliant vibrant red as it connected once more.
“Gil.” You breathed in awe, jumping Jay in one last giddy hug before running off to follow the string. Your feet pattered against the cold concrete ground, splashing puddles as you went. As you rounded your sixth corner, you saw him.
“(Y/N)!” You ran to Gil, the length of the string disappearing as you got closer. You jumped into his arms, the hole in your chest bursting with joy when he swept you off your feet, spinning you around in his arms in the middle of the market place.
As he placed you down, it was like everything had fallen into place.
When he kissed you, your hands cupping his face, you felt like the princess he originally thought you were.
You felt like his Darling.
I loved, and I loved, and I lost you. And it hurt like hell.
