Give It To Me Straight would never be financially viable with a live studio audience bc the price and quantity of the background checks required to plant a personally tailored gift under every seat would dwarf every other line item in the budget
old person take but the kavetham spirk parallels are just wild. rivals to friends to lovers. soulmate vibes. both geniuses. adhd coded + autism coded. met in college. maybe this is spirk being the blueprint of modern fanfiction culture, maybe i just secretly like only one brand of ship and it’s this one, the world may never know
Not living in England i had to dig the Internet Archives for english comedy. I started randomly searching for stuff. After watching "Never mind the buzzcocks" on yt when i was hungover in my twenties, stewart lee was a familiar face but it took a while till i really dug into his stuff.. wich resulted in buying his book "content provider" and still reading his guardian stuff.. and also a big admiration for Richard Herring who i think is incredibly good. But ill go into that in another post.
I watched this routine over and over... i feel like comedy is so much about timing and rhythm that i find myself rewatching it sometimes for the sound of it. Or like i listen to a song to feel a certain kind of way i also rewatch comedy.
This clip is part one of two of a wonderfully crafted comedy meltdown of stewart lee the comedian. So be sure to watch the second bit...of stewart lee "giving it to you straight".
Website design for custom cake ordering prompt given by amazing resource where you can get faux client request. This one gave me a bit of workout and definitely needs some more tightening up. However, I've found that I've spent too much time trying to get it perfect before receiving feedback. I'm uploading it here and am open and would love your feedback!
