Not every character in a book *needs* to have a rich inner life and backstory! #To do so would bog down the story and obliterate any notion of pacing. It's just not possible. #Jin Guangyao (nee Meng Yao) is unfortunately not free from this leeway rule. He is the culprit of this murder mystery plot #and thus NEEDS to encapsulate the themes of the book. And personally he's a 7 out of 10 at best on this front (in the AD). #MDZS is about rumours twisting reality and working towards truth. And about how people & situations are rarely ever black & white #JGY has his motivations. He's well written in regards to his actions making sense for his character. #What started as good traits (drive to succeed & improve his image) became twisted over time (do anything to maintain his image) #and it's a good parallel to WWX! He has the same arc (with different traits)! Bonus points for IGY in that regard. #but man....by the time we confront this guy for murder there's not a lot of grey morality. He's just...deep in the hole *he* dug. #There's a beautiful tragedy to it! More on JGY in later comics - this is getting pretty long already!

#listen friends i dont know what to feel #i love everyone involved #I'm so happy that Donna has her memories back and will spend the rest of her life with her best friend by her side #but that ending felt like it was straight out of a christmas Hallmark movie; my teeth ache from all that saccharine sweetness #I'll be able to justify it if RTD is setting the stage for bringing Tennant and Tate into his UNIT spin-off which seems to be in the works #if that's not the reason it's hard for me to swallow this plot twist with the biregeneration #firstly: RTD did something similar at the end of the fourth season—splitting the Doctor to “give” one version to Rose #it's a bit annoying to see him essentially do the same now by letting another version of the Doctor to stay with Donna #secondly: I missed the emotion in this #I spent a week bracing myself for heartbreak but we went a bit too far in the other direction #we got a cutesy ending where everything resolves through a deus ex machina #yet it’s those bitter and grief-soaked moments are what RTD has always excelled at #when it comes to the Doctor's regeneration and farewells to companions #it's hard to feel much about this plot development #some things should remain final and some goodbyes and endings are unavoidable #the conclusion of Rose’s arc (both from s2 and s4) or Donna's ending in s4 #were among the most emotionally intense moments in the history of television #I missed a bit of that here #perhaps if there were more bitterness in the 14th Doctor's ending if he had to pay some PRICE for this biregeneration #(like not getting his TARDIS #being told that the Fifteenth takes over the regeneration ability #and the Tennant Doctor will die of old age) #emotionally it would have provided viewers with a cool punch #without that it seems like RTD wanted to have his cake and eat it too #have a new Doctor and give his old characters a last-minute happy ending that doesn't make much logical sense #I was hoping to feel more considering how much I love these characters #but my main reaction is an eyeroll #on the positive side I really hope to see Neil Patrick Harris in the show again he was a great villain #and Ncuti Gatwa’s Doctor is already so freaking great!!! <3 #doctor who

I love this fandom, I was sad and depressed because of the 💩 ending but after reading all of this amazing jonerys fics I felt happy and no matter what I still found comfort on this.

Please I now it's a lot to ask but don't go don't let them took away this bubble of happiness (you and the others on this fandom created for all of us) from us too.

On purpose? Yes if by that you mean the purpose of doubling down on the season 8 ending and milking whatever they can from the old Game of Thrones fan base. You know, the same ones who are so easily swayed by CGI dragons and will tune in to watch The House Of The Dragon. And the ones who think that the only thing wrong with the ending was that Dany's turn was too quick (but they thought she was mad in the first place, so that's not why they're raging about the ending), the ones who wanted Jon to kill the Night King instead of Arya and the ones who wanted Jon to end up on the Iron Throne.

As long as people credit me for inspiration, I have no problem with people doing their own spin-offs/AUs or taking ideas out of my fanfictions. I am absolutely flattered that I inspire someone/anyone really, and while it might not be my cup of tea personally, if others like it I am very happy! 😊

Now I have read some and I got to say it's absolutely not where my story is heading, but again, I give @chiaracognigniart my blessing to keep writing - not that she even needs it but just so she knows - and I hope she has fun doing it and that others enjoy it. I also share nothing related to her work because - and this is her right to do so - there are mentions of redacted - in fact her love of Aemond has to do with the actor who plays "Aemond" in redacted - as well as the redacted tag. As you all know because I have mentioned this about a gazillion times, I do not share or like anything with any relation to redacted because that is something I absolutely despise and that has nothing to do with the source material and characters that I love.

I do thank you though for sending me this message, Anon, because from people flat out copying my fanfiction, from taking my ideas, from doing unauthorised translations, and even having the audacity to ask for money in return, I have unfortunately seen it all. Because of the state of the break-in, Techno actually has all of his gear - netherite armor, weapons, gapples, etc. He's not someone that Sam can beat in a fight (or most of the server, for that matter) and everyone in the room knows it. One of the first things Techno does is actually ask Dream whether or not he should kill Sam - they decide that it's not a good idea, on account of Sam probably spawning into the prison w/ good gear, but the implicit physical threat to Sam's person (and the stripping Sam of any significant physical power) is very much there.

JMAH!Sam is feeling pretty out of control at this point - most of what he likes to present as far as his Image as the Warden goes is like, him being calm and collected and purposeful in what he does. He doesn't rely on hands-on physical punishment quite in the same way Quackity did - even when he's really pissed, usually he just jabs a button and walks away. There are only a few times when Dream pushes far enough for Sam to react physically in that way, and both of them avoid such incidents in general for...obvious reasons.

This isn't to say that he isn't tempted to really hurt Dream, just to make sure he knows he means it, but he's also not really keen on being on the business end of Techno's sword (he already knows that Techno wants to run him through with it - when they talk while Dream is sleeping, it's not like Techno is particularly shy about his disdain). So he keeps it a lot to mean remarks - c!Sam, honestly, beyond all of the war crimes can also just be a massive asshole. The more out of control he is, the more likely he is to start just. Being a jerk to reassert some level of authority, and he does quite a lot of this.

After everything that's happened between Dream and Sam in this AU, his little quips have the added bonus of really affecting Dream in ways that Techno usually doesn't catch until they've already happened. One of the first things Techno does, catching onto how Dream has clearly been starved, is give him a golden apple. Sam immediately demands it, and Dream - unthinkingly - hands it over. Techno obviously gives him another one, upon which Sam crabbily makes a comment along the lines of how he's not allowed to have that. Dream, for his part, isn't really hungry at all - just the idea of eating at all is making him a little nauseous - so he makes assorted, quiet protests - don't argue with Sam, it's fine, he's not really hungry anyway.

At this point, Sam - recognizing that Techno is getting progressively annoyed at him and also increasingly irritated by his and Dream's - camaraderie, takes a look at Dream and smiles slightly behind the mask. Fine, Dream, then eat. See if Sam cares.

Naturally, Dream does.

(Naturally, just as Sam knew he would, he throws up.)
