Where do people keep up with Given anime/manga updates. I’ve been a huge fan of the series for years but have never really been able to figure out where to look for updates and stuff and have been relying on bits and pieces that other people post on other social media sites but have never been able to find the original source and I need help.

I also would like if someone told me where to go to get all the cool merchandise because I also don’t know where to go for that either

I’m gonna be a little controversial and say Wish was actually a good movie.

#if you’re reading this you probably want to know more about what I mean #and I want to start off by saying what happened on screen for wish was awful #this confused me because to make wish after movies like Encanto and RATLD #just felt weird and out of place #so I looked at the what happened behind the scenes #and it seems like wish was another an unfortunate byproduct of #big corporations shoving their noses where they don’t belong #because from what I was able to gather #wish was supposed to be a love letter to Disney #and the 100 years it’s given us #and the fact that it was supposed to be 2d not 3d was the first biggest cop out to me #then you have star to take into account #and I was reading through some of the original art #and the other giant cop out is that star was supposed to be a humanoid character #but I can see the dollar signs that appeared in Disney’s eyes when they saw star #and made star a merchandisable character instead of a human #I’ve read/seen some good art of people trying to think of other ways that wish could’ve gone #and all the art is amazing #which shows to #me that without capitalist greed #and just true love and effort #wish could’ve been phenomenal

just beginning to settle for me how reflective of our culture it is that the current biggest meme online is the fact that barbie and oppenheimer coincidentally come out on the same day. barbie is a multi million dollar plot by matel both to sell more products and to increase media engagement since that's where the future is for advertising their products and oppenheimer is a dramatization of the only time nukes were ever used in war that targeted two civilian cities and killed thousands upon thousands of innocent people from the perspective of the man who developed it and viewed it as a necessary evil to end a war that was basically already over. girlbosses and bombs! isn't everyone having fun

#I feel like a kill joy but man it's so strange #I'll probably end up watching the barbie movie but it's crazy to me that no one is unsettled by how big of a deal #barbie has made itself. I can name 6 different stores that are selling barbie themed merchandise #including the one I fucking work at #it's effective marketing too because you don't even have to market the characters you just have to sell the motifs n shit #pink pink pink and the various barbie logos that everyone has been familiar with for decades #trying to avoid calling the campaign explosive because I feel like that defeats my point but yknow. it's a huge deal #the coincidence with oppenheimer has given that movie so much free advertising for a movie that has only advertised itself with cast #interviews and that huge ass film roll #idk there's just something to be said about how ironic it all is #especially with the timing of the oppenheimer movie and current world events #like on the 11th the us tried to put a nuclear submarine in guantanamo kind of current world events #increasing tensions everywhere and the us is making an ass of itself so here's a movie heralding Mr Biggest Bombs as a complex dude #oh what a long ass post to have reblogs turned off on

in terms of reading UTDR characters, measuring up characters against their list of crimes is always going to feel weird and unfitting to me... like it just calls back memories of people trying to say that frisk shouldn't want to be friends with/forgive any of the monsters they fought, or people balking at sympathetic portrayals of asgore

and like, sure, you are totally within your rights to explore these things that canonically happened! but it doesn't change the fact that the game was absolutely trying to convey that all of these people are still worthy of compassion, and that showing them compassion leads to a better outcome for everyone

(also the murder/weird routes don't even have to happen. they're interesting in that they show you a side of characters that you might not have otherwise seen, but they're not inevitable... you don't have to incorporate those themes into Absolutely Every Fan Work)­­
