It's a dreamscape you know. There's something about macro photography that's part of the wild. I start out with an idea, but get lost in the shapes and forms. There are curves and jagged edges, jumbled in together and somehow there's a coherent whole. I start early, before the wind gets up and somewhere, somehow two hours have passed.
It's similar to doing portrait photography, at least to me it is. Looking at faces to find the best way to highlight their features, but then getting lost in the colour of their eyes, or concentrating on the curve of their lips. Somehow, out of all those tangents and mind wanderings, a picture emerges. It might not necessarily be the subject's most favoured, but it will be one that I want to hang on my wall.

Never be afraid to laugh at yourself. After all, you could be missing out on the joke of the century.
