Until Darkness Descends
FANDOM: Final Fantasy XV
CHAPTER: 20
MAIN PAIRING: Ardyn Izunia x Reader
SEC. PAIRING: Gladiolus Amicitia x Reader
RATING: Explicit
Streaks of orange and red painted the cloudless sky when the boys returned to pick you up. After paying the small town doctor, your group received a package from Cindy addressed to a motel owner a town away.
Your eyes were as heavy as cement and you struggled to keep them open during the hour long drive to Longmythe. The darkness behind your eyelids was a welcomed presence for your weary head. Your muscles were thawing snow against the comforting heat of your boyfriend's body as you leaned your head against his shoulder. His muscular arm was wrapped around your body and cradled you against him.
Everyone was quiet the entire way there, you could practically taste the fatigue in the air. By the time your group reached the small town, the sky was pitch black with a smattering of stars that decorated the naked space. True to your word, your group handed the package over to the motel owner before calling it a night.
Sleep beckoned you into its sweet arms, rendering every muscle in your body to goo, and made every step you took heavy and slow. Gladiolus had to practically drag you to your shared room for the night. Getting ready for bed was a challenge now that you were one arm down, but fortunately your boyfriend was more than happy to help you discard your outside clothes and dress you in your pajamas.
Once you were both ready for bed, you laid down in each other's arms. Tension dripped away from your muscles like wax from a dwindling candle. You rested your cheek against Gladiolus' hard chest, feeling the beginnings of a dream morph in your mind.
Before you could fully fall asleep, Gladiolus spoke, "so what happened back there?" He asked, his baritone thick with a weariness that mirrored your own.
"Back where?" You asked back. Your thoughts were moving at a snail's pace, even molasses could outrun it at this point.
       "The hunt." He answered.
You gave a noncommittal shrug. "Had a migraine and got distracted."
"A migraine, thought you stopped having those."
You yawned and snuggled even deeper inside his arms. He rubbed your back in that soothing way of his that always made you fall asleep faster. "Guess it came back."
His silence was deafening, so much so that you couldn't find solace in the circles that were being drawn on your back. You opened your eyes, fatigue parting from your face like retreating hands.
"This is not normal." He said at last. "You may have to sit out future hunts if this continues. Any ideas why they came back?"
Dread free fell into the pit of your stomach. Would Gladiolus truly make you sit out future fights even after your arm is completely healed? Your scalp tingled and tightened all at once, it was this afternoon all over again. But, he was right. It was truly strange that you were suddenly hit with a migraine after years of going without.
Usually your migraines would accompany a flash of a scene in your head, brief glimpses of what you could only describe as memories you could not recall from your own life. But it had been many many years since you've last had a freaky episode like that. The earliest you could remember was from the dawn of your teen years.
You painted a figure eight against Gladiolus' steel like chest with the tip of your finger. Today you thought you saw Ardyn and that was when the migraine hit you. Was he somehow the catalysis behind it all? Now that you thought about it, you never suffered from a migraine until the day you met him, but you've endured the beating drum in your head on numerous occasions, many of which did not include a sighting of the elusive redhead.
Realizing you did not answer Gladiolus' question yet, you lifted your head from his chest and gazed into his eyes. "None." You admitted, although you had your ideas, none of which you could say to your boyfriend anyways. You never spoke about Ardyn to him and you won't start now, not without the redhead's permission at least. You saw what happened the last time you allowed someone to know about his presence in your life and you weren't about to repeat the same mistake.
Gladiolus sighed and wrapped his arms around you. "For now we'll deal with them as they come. But once we reach Altissa I'm taking you to a doctor. Maybe doctors over there know something doctors over here don't." He said.
A sort of comforting sadness creased the edges of your eyes. Gladiolus had always held out hope that you would one day discover the root cause of your affliction, and receive a cure, long after you've already given up hope.
Exhaustion from the day kissed your eyes once more and you lowered your head back against his chest. "Maybe." You said before the darkness swallowed you whole once more.
Water stretched out as far as the eye could see. You turned around and found no end in sight. The gentle splish splash of liquid followed your turning feet. Looking down, you found your reflection rippling over the face of the water. You were standing on top of it but how? The ocean's cool touch licked the soles of your feet as you walked upon the water. It felt solid like you were walking on land.
Just where were you exactly? You lifted your eyes to the cloudless sky above you. The sun beamed down from its throne in the sky, its golden light chased the ripples in the sea. Beyond its path was a singular black dot in the water. You studied the spot and watched as it got bigger. Black mist spread under the surface of the ocean like buckets of discarded ink.
The water splashed around your toes as you retreated from the approaching darkness, but there was no use. It was moving everywhere and only getting bigger. It chased after your fleeting steps until every last drop of blue was consumed.
Ominous dark clouds peaked above the horizon like the fingers of a giant. Your pupils dilated as you watched the friendly blue sky get completely devoured next. Your stomach turned, before you could even blink, the entire sky was completely black as the water underneath you.
Disembodied voices carried on the wind. Their discordant chants increased, getting louder and louder until they reached a strident pitch. Hands flew to your ears in an attempt to shield them from the assault. Chaos brewed in your temples, the shrill drumbeat of the ghostly voices surrounded you and made your head pulse with a thousand marching men.
Blood pooled in your toes from your head the moment you felt icy fingers wrap around your ankle. You barely had time to yelp before you were dragged down into the black depths. You thrashed and kicked but the hand did not relent. Hell resided in your lungs, the need to breath clawed at your throat till you were sure there was nothing left of your neck but bone and sinew.
Your arms flung about underneath the waves, your tears disappearing to the darkness all around you. The frosty grip on your ankle was a vice that sent spikes of ice up your leg. Amid your panic you looked down. The ghostly white face of the creature pulling you down barely peered through the dark. But you saw enough of it to cause your heart to catapult out of your mouth. Dark lines scorched the area underneath the creature's eyes, the side of his mouth eroded away by the same black ooze.
With bulging eyes, you clawed for the surface. Your muscles screamed with the need to survive. A sinister laugh echoed through the muffling darkness and ripped down your spine. Your own scream was swallowed by the weight of the depths. Tendrils of black smoke swam through the muddled water like a sea serpent out for blood. The ocean splashed around your flailing limbs as the smoke plunged into your eyes. You opened your mouth to scream when the second tendril shoved down your throat.
A scream broke from your throat as you bolted upright. Your heart was flying a 1000 miles per second in your chest. Instead of heavy black water, it was a dark motel room that met your gaze. Confusion churned in your stomach, twisting like a living thing inside your body.  A sleepy masculine groan was the next thing to greet you. Rising to his elbows, Gladiolus gazed into your wide tear filled eyes.
"Wah's goin' on?" He asked, his voice heavy with sleep.
You inhaled but the thin air couldn’t quench the burning fire in your lungs.
"Hey, hey, shhh," Gladiolus gathered you in his arms, his voice no longer shackled to the sleep he so clearly needed. "It's alright. It was just a dream." He said, rubbing comforting circles on your back. Relief washed over you like buckets of sunlight and you curled into his inviting embrace.
After calming you down Gladiolus went back to sleep. But you remained awake, staring at the dark nothingness above you. Your eyes were raw from the need to sleep, but you couldn't bring yourself to close them. You don't think you want to close them ever again.

Can I please be left Alone? Part 2
Read Part 1 right here.
Tumblr media
"Ow...ow...ow-OW!" You repeat as Ignis patches you up. "Iggy, be careful please?" You plead with him.
"I apologize Y/N, my hands are tired after taking care of Noct" he says while grabbing one of your hands.
"Oh! Did you like it? It was some of my best work"
"If you consider bruises and cuts "art", then no" you frown.
"Come on Iggs, he came at me first! Ask Cindy!" You gesture over to blonde mechanic who was currently cleaning up the regalia. She finishes wiping down the car before answering.
"I do hav' ta agree with Y/N, they did give him a good fight. I'd hate to imagin' if they weren't friends" she ends with a chuckle.
"Thank you Cindy! Ignis, all I wanted to do was get some rest" You sighed. "It's not my fault Noctis doesn't know how to keep his hands to himself"
"I understand and with that being said, I'm done but I want you to take it easy for a bit" Ignis says, crossing his arms. You perk up, slowly turning your head towards him with absolute glee on your face.
"Does this mean-!" You begin to ask.
"Yes this means you can go sleep in car" he facepalms as you race out of the chair you were sitting in to the regalia. You see Cindy walking back to the shop.
"Cindy! Cindy! Come here!" You yell to her with your non-hurt arm waving to get her attention. She sees you and speed walks over.
"What can I get ya darlin'?" She asks while trying to wipe oil off her face.
"I will do any labor you want, help you in any way. If you can keep the other three away from me, only Ignis can bother me." She looks at you confused but agrees anyway. She gives you a light kiss on the forehead and leaves you to sleep. You slip into the passenger seat, reclining it, putting your legs on the dash and close your eyes.
Fuck. You can't sleep. Now you're incredibly wary of the idiots you travel with coming to you and bothering you. So now here you are, unable to sleep.
But you can hear Cindy being the best person ever by diverting the boys away from the car, she even gave you some water! She is an angel. But noise of everything also kept you up.
What you didn't expect was another person that you hadn't spent an uncountable amounts of hours with walking up to you.
The owner of the diner that is right next to the car shop walked up and looked into the regalia to see you in the most comfortable yet uncomfortable position yet. "Um, Y/N right?" He asks. You straighten yourself out and sit up properly much to your misfortune.
"Yes, how can I help you?" You ask, pretending you weren't laying down like you were before.
"One of your hunter friends said you would gather some ingredients for me" he states. You flare your nostrils and inwardly groan. You climb out of the car and excuse yourself to go die in the trailer by the diner.
Opening the door, you stomp over to the bed and faceplant on it. Currently fighting the urge to scream, a concerned voice comes out of nowhere. "Hey Y/N, you okay?" It was a very deep and gruff voice, after a bit of silence you respond.
"Yeah Gladio, I'm okay" your voice is muffled by the bed, "I'm just really tired" you lift your head.
"That fight with Noct really tuckered you out?" He was half right, you were already tired before then but that fight didn't help at all.
"I'm gonna say yes for now because of lack of brain power"
"Alright then"
"By the way, why are you in here anyway? Did we already rent this?"
"At this point Y/N we should own this thing" he knocks on the walls of the trailer.
"That's a good point" you lazily lift your arm up for emphasis, that gets a small chuckle from Gladio.
"Dude you look dead" he continues to chuckle.
"Well that's fitting because I want to be right now" you groan out.
"Alright, I'll leave you alone. I'll even guard the door for you" he offers.
"Thanks Mr. Mullet, please make sure to thank Cindy for me and tell Prompto he can have his seat back" you ask getting more and more tired.
"Will do, have a good sleep Y/N" you hear him say before he leaves you.
Before you drift off you hear a faint excited scream assumedly from Prompto. You giggle a bit before finally getting what you wanted all along.
To be left alone
You as soon as someone walks near you:

Do you know Among Us? How do you think the chocobros will react to being killed in the game by their s/o after trusting them? XD
Yeah I used to play Among us. I got bored of it after awhile 😅 I do miss playing tho. Maybe I can play with you guys if that’s ok.
Also fun fact I had a similar idea to this and I was almost done but I accidentally deleted it and the hype for the game started to die down, so I gave up;-; but someone requested it! So here ya go <3
Noctis
• He mad.
• “Y/n what the hell?!”
• He actually doesn’t talk to you for awhile.
• “C’mon Noct! I’m sorry!”
• Eventually after some… persuasion 😉 he forgave you.
• However, once he’s the imposter, he’s totally getting his revenge 😈
Prompto
• You literally broke his heart.
• “Y/n.” 🥺
• He’s getting pay back for sure.
• But he keeps getting found out before he can kill you since he acts pretty sus.
• Eventually, you asked for his forgiveness and he forgives you.
• He’s totally gonna still try and kill you though
Ignis
• His face is just 😐
• He trusted you.
• Why?
• He’s getting his revenge and unlike Prompto, he’s very good at being the imposter and unalives you pretty quickly.
• He forgives you and still loves you <3
• He still plans on serving your food cold
Gladiolus
• He’s mad that he lost.
• He had been on a winning streak and you ruined it :(
• He tries to get back at you but he fails.
• After you guys are done, he said that he’ll forgive you if you kiss his cheek and you did no problem with that :)
Bonus! Cindy
• She’s sad but she said she should have expected it anyways.
• She ain’t upset about it.
• She still had a lot of fun.
• No hard feelings… for now.

One of those “What You’re Favorite X Ship Says About You” videos but with FFXV here’s what I got
Chocobros/Polyship Roadtrip: You are a SUCKER for silly boys and bromances and the found family trope. You agree the game has problems but gosh these four boys LOVE each other and that’s all that matters. You will now think of the last campfire scene and cry. This game got to you.
Promptis: You like the “idiot boys in love” trope the fact that they’re high school friends is a wonderful bonus.
Gladnis: You like couples you think would make great parents together.
Promnis: You are a fan of “Oh My God the Serious One Fell For the Silly One.”
Ignoct: You like the “childhood friends to lovers” trope.
Promptio: You’re like, really into height differences.
Gladnoct: You’re all about that Bodyguard Dynamic.
Lunoct: Every day you scream into the void about how much better these two deserved, hoping one day SquareEnix will hear you.
Lunyx: You’re also into the bodyguard dynamic but mostly you just like a Luna ship where she, as an adult, got to interact with the other party for an extended period of time.
Luna/Gentiana: See above.
Luna/Cindy and Luna/Aranea: You either are a lesbian, love and support lesbians, and/or since you’re out here shipping all the boys together, why not do the same for the girls.
Cindy/Aranea: You want a girlfriend who could kick your ass.
Highspecs: At first you just wanted to see two really hot characters kiss but now you’re like....invested and you don’t know what to do about it.
Regis/Clarus/Cor/Cid/Weskham and any combination thereof: This is kind of the same joke as Chocobros as you are a sucker for bromances, but really it’s just your kind of couple angst comes from regrets and nostalgia. Also you like DILFS.
Any Ardyn ship: You either find Ardyn an incredibly fascinating character and use shipping to explore that, ship him with characters while being self-indulgent and living solidly in AU land, or you just really want to fuck Ardyn.
Sorry for any ships I missed but this is what I got.

Fashion AU - Noctis x Reader - Pining - Slowburn
Rating: M
Chapter: 5/26
Summary: Noctis is a young designer in search of a model for a prestigious fashion design competition. You’re a third year university student on the brink of a burnout. In the City That Never Sleeps, your paths crossed.
This chapter: While you sought out Cindy's opinions on your most recent professional woes, Noctis sought out Gladio for advice on dating women.
-
In the family home of the Amicitias, Gladio looked up from the book that he was reading and saw Noctis sitting crosslegged by the other side of the coffee table. His dark blue eyes were transfixed on a page of the moleskine notebook that he was scribbling on with utmost concentration. He was dressed in a light grey suit, complete with a tie and meticulously pressed white shirt. If Gladio hadn't known better, he would've thought that the younger man was getting ready for a job interview instead of a lunch with his father.
Then again, as the CEO of the largest technological conglomerate in the world, Regis Lucis Caelum barely had any time to have lunch with his only son. So in the rare events that he did have the time, Ignis must have stopped at nothing to ensure that Noctis was as presentable as possible during the occasion.
Glancing back to the passage that he was reading earlier, Gladio couldn't help but tease, "Nervous much, Noct? Guess your father hasn't told you yet what you're being scolded for today, huh?"
"I am not being scolded."
Dark, stylistically disheveled head snapped up, and Gladio could barely contain his amused grin. Noctis noticed this, and pouted. A sigh escaped him before his midnight-hued eyes trailed up towards the traditionally etched wooden ceiling. "I mean, I guess I will be, one way or another… Somnus will be joining the lunch, after all. And Ravus, too."
Gladio clicked his tongue. "My condolences."
"Don't need any from you."
"Don't be so salty, Noct. You know I'd be there for you if I could." Gladio's smirk rose as he glanced up omce again from behind his book. "My family was oathbound to protect yours, after all."

Chapter VI - A Way Forward Part III
Previous

Tumblr media
“Step lightly in here.” Ignis commented, eyes darting in every way possible, checking every corner and shadow for possible enemies.
“He’s right. There’s no telling what’ll come out of the woodwork.” Six agreed, her katana summoned and ready, “Mandrake.” she spotted it behind a tree, getting ready to strike, “Noct?”
“Yeah?”
“Watch closely. If you rip the flower on it’s head off, the rest of it will fall pretty quick as well.” she instructed before doing exactly as she told him. With one swift move of her sword, the gray lotus was severed from the creatures head; with the next, its body was split in half, fading away into purple smoke, “Lesson number two...” she continued, making her way closer to the company, “Avoid a Mandrake’s smoke. It will disorient you right away. And I’m sure I don’t have to tell you to watch the tail.”
“Get the flower, avoid the smoke and the tail. Gotcha!” The dark haired Prince repeated before they all moved further inside.
“I’ll have these guys wiped out before you know it.” Noctis smiled a cocky smile when they came across the next couple of Mandrakes.
“Is that so?” Six smirked as well, “All right then, tough guy, prove it.”
And he did, with Ignis always by his side, Noctis did them both proud by following her actions to the letter and taking both the Mandrakes down fast with no problem.
“You’re a fast learner, Highness.” Six praised.
“What can I say-”
“Focus! Three more coming our way. Soldier Wasps too.”
The deeper they walked in the Thicket the more enemies they met with, and the sun was already starting to set.
“That’s it!” Ignis spoke, mostly to himself but catching everyone’s attention as he dropped down to one knee, cutting some Malmamushrooms and storing them.
“What’s what?”
“I’ve come up with a new recipe!”
“From that thing?” Six made a face of slight disgust from the vegetable in her friend’s hand, covering herself before a certain veggie-hating Prince caught on it, “Well, I guess I could taste test for you.” His Majesty can never know she shares his distaste for them. That was the deal she had made with Ignis all those years ago.
“That a… brook I hear babbling?” Prompto asked, hearing the running water echo loud and clear.
“A regular river, I’d say.” Gladio answered, eyes scanning over his sister, already seeming tired.
At the sound of the word ‘river’, Noctis’ eyes shot up, “Oh, think we have time to cast a line?”
“Sorry, bud.” Prompto laughed at the eagerness in his friend’s voice, “Need you to reel yourself in this time around. Hey! I know those runes!”
“It’s a sign. We could make camp here.” Gladio was quick to butt in.
“We could make camp, or continue on. It’s on you Noct.” Ignis commented.
Noctis looked at Six for potential answers. The Glaive looked at her phone and nodded toward the camp site, “It’ll get dark soon.”
“Camp it is then.”
Everyone did their part in setting up camp quickly. Iris helped Ignis make food for everyone, while the boys helped Gladio set the tent and chairs before checking Prompto’s pictures and Six was keeping watch, making sure they’d cleared the way thoroughly enough so they wouldn’t get any after hour surprises.
“I swear half of your photos are selfies!” Noctis laughed at the pictures Prompto had taken while Iris helped Ignis pass the dishes to their owners.
“Hashtag: ‘Sorry not sorry’.” the blond laughed, setting his camera to the side and taking his plate before moving his chair a little so Six could sit next to him; he had to show her the picture Noctis was talking about after dinner since she was in it too.
Iris was the first one to fall asleep. She was also the first one to wake up in the morning; sitting in one of the chairs still surrounding the embers of last nights fire and waiting for the rest to get up as well.
Once everyone was awake and ready to continue, Iris’ excitement had everyone moving towards their goal, “All right, move out!”
“Yes, ma’am.” Six saluted the girl with a grin, making the girl chuckle before she moved on ahead to walk next to the Prince, still yawning the sleep away from his eyes.
“Take care the current doesn’t carry you away.” Ignis instructed, grabbing a slippery Prompto by the collar as everyone moved upstream.
“I’m not sure my footwear is up to this!” Prompto screeched, slipping once more.
“Don’t let yourself get pulled in.”
“And keep moving.” Gladio and Six continued, both keeping a close eye on Iris and Noctis.
“Over there. There’s a path next to the waterfall that leads up and out of this place.” the Glaive pointed and the company followed her directions.
“Ah, cold, cold!”
“Freezing cold!” the Prince and his Gunslinger whined, as drops of the waterfall fell on their bare arms.
“You outta stand under that waterfall and let it toughen you up a little.” Six thought out loud, making Ignis and Gladio chuckle at the seriousness in her voice.
“I don’t think that would be good for my camera… or me! Wait, you’ve done that?” Prompto looked at her, eyes filled with wonder.
“Among other things.” the Glaive grinned, making her way to the exit of the cave.
“Just keeps going on from here.” Noctis commented on the narrow hall.
“Then we keep going too. We’re almost to the exit.”
“This place is… cozy!” Prompto spoke again, making his way to Iris’ side.
“Well, I wouldn’t get too comfy if I were you.” Gladio pointed on the sunbeams, finding their way inside the cave.
“Oh, man am I glad to be out of there!”
“Don’t speak too soon.”
“Not so glad anymore.” Prompto grunted, seeing the monster that awaited them ahead.
“Rather enormous.” Ignis fixed his glasses and summoned his daggers; getting ready for the upcoming fight.
“Not surprised either.” Six followed his actions.
“It’s what we came for.” Gladio joined, instructing his sister to stay back and keep her eyes open.
“Let’s have it!”
“What the hell is this?” Noctis looked at Six, getting his sword and readying himself as the monster had just noticed them approaching.
“Bandersnatch!” the Glaive unsheathed her katana, “A Gamma, by the looks of it.”
“Gamma? You mean…”
“It’s pretty small.” she nodded toward the Advisor.
The Glaive gave the instructions, “I’ll hit it with lightning so try to stay away, when it’s disoriented, attack the legs and bring it down.” they all run toward the beast and once she used her lightning spell and the beast locked eyes with her the rest attacked just as she had told them to. “Watch out for the tail!”
Noctis had the last hit, warping himself above the beast’s head and striking with the Axe of the Conqueror, bringing down the monster.
“Woo! Victory!” Iris cheered, watching her friends beat the beast with almost no trouble at all.
“Victory indeed,” Ignis agreed, “when were all safe.”
“Noct, you might want to see this.” Six let her weapon dematerialize, pointing at the entrance of the Royal Tomb the beast was guarding.
“Score! It’s all about that treasure!” Prompto sang, exited to finally see something worth having.
“Are you-”
“Yeah.” She cut him off before he managed to ask if she was going to be alright while unlocking the entrance, “My day was going great. Time for a little pain.”
“Six.” he was worried.
“I’m kidding!” she was quick to console him, “Go get your power.”
“Which one is it?” Ignis asked, making his way to stand next to the Glaive.
“The Pious.” She commented, getting herself ready as Noctis raised his hand above the scepter. The weapon doing as the rest, finding its way to the Princes heart and hurting the Glaive as the power was moved from one to the other.
Noctis turned around to look at her, a familiar melancholy covering his blue eyes. It looked like she was hurting more and more with each weapon. How long could she hold out? What would happen when he collected all of them? The questions concerning all five of them.
“We should get back to the car. We still have time till sun down. Maybe we can even make it to Caem tonight.” The Glaive was quick to change the subject before it was even brought up, knowing full well what was going on inside her friends’ minds.
“Yeah.” the Prince nodded, taking the lead and making his way back as everyone followed close behind.

Once back on the road and after seeing how quiet everyone had been on the way back, Iris decided to make small talk, asking questions and looking at each of the people in the car to give her answers. Everyone took turns in talking and they were soon back to their cheery selves.
“Are you guys excited to visit Altissia, or what?”
“I guess.” The Prince answered, nonchalantly, as always.
“I’m so jealous!”
“We’re not going on vacation.” Gladio raised an eyebrow at his sister.
“Oh, yeah. You’re right.” the girl’s eyes fell as she sat back on her seat.
“Iris?” Ignis glanced back at her through the rear-view mirror, worry in his voice.
“Something wrong?” Prompto noticed it as well.
“What? No, I’m fine.” Iris answered. “I’m not jealous. I just… had a lot of fun hanging out with you guys. But, that’ll all be in the past once we hit Caem.”
“What are you talking about?” Gladio took his eyes off of Six, driving ahead of them, to look at his sister.
“We can hang out anytime. Right?” Prompto turned in his seat, searching for Noctis’ affirmation.
“Yeah.”
The girl smiled at the thought; the past two days flashing before her eyes.
“Smells like there’s… salt in the air.” she sniffed a couple of times, listening to Ignis’ explanation.
“Sea breeze- we’re on the water.”
“Wow, it’s beautiful!”
“Picture-perfect!”
“Yeah.” Noctis agreed, eyes falling on the unlimited blue reaching the horizon, “Like something out of a dream.”
“Just don’t fall asleep on me.” Gladio laughed, moving his arm to hang outside the side of his door.
“Wow. Look at that bridge up ahead.”
Gladio huffed a smile, “Some piece of work right there.”
“The rivers run wide out here, so the bridges run long.” Ignis commented, eyeing the motorcycle ahead of them, picking up speed. Just a little, but it was there. He wondered for a second, what could be going on through his friend’s mind.
“Guess I’ll see it when we cross. Wanna get a closer look?”
“At what?” Noctis asked as Ignis slowed down, watching as Six was already driving through the tunnel ahead of them.
The five got out of the car, taking a picture with the sea as their background before driving off to catch up with their runaway Glaive.
“This the place?”
“Sure is. Thanks for the lift Ignis.”
“Pleasure.”
“Can’t wait to see my buddy Talcott!” Prompto smiled, eyes falling on the Glaive’s figure quickly. Arms crossed on her chest, leaning against the motorcycle, her legs crossed at the calves. She was deep in thought, cigarette between her lips burning on its own. “She look strange to you?”
“Something has been on her mind.” Ignis agreed, bringing the Regalia to a full stop, close to where the Glaive was parked, “She’ll tell us when she’s ready.”
“Yeah.” the Prince agreed, thinking he knew what was on her mind, before getting out of the car and moving closer to her.
“What happened?” Six asked casually once everyone was around her.
“Stopped to take a picture.”
“Okay.” she laughed at the blond boy, “Ready to see Talcott?”
“Oh yeah!” Prompto almost jumped, smile reaching his ears as they all moved toward the lighthouse.
“Whoa. Pretty impressive lighthouse.” Gladio moved closer, eyes wondering up to look at the top of the structure while his hand found its way to Six’s waist. “You okay?” he turned to look at her and she smiled up at him warmly.
“What say we head on up?” Prompto suggested.
“Ought to be a nice view, if a bit blustery.” Ignis joined.
“It’s gonna be cold up there.” Six laughed at how amazed they seemed, “But the view IS amazing, yes. And there’s still time before the sun’s down.”
“Hey! It’s Cindy!”
“Knew it was y’all! Recognize the purr of that engine anywhere.”
“Phew. You know your stuff.” Prompto was excited to see her, to say the least, cheeks flustered just by looking at her figure.
“How’s the boat?” Noctis asked, following the blonde woman up the road.
“Paw-paw’s tinkerin’ away. Reckon he’ll be tinkerin’ for some time.”
“Trouble at sea?” Ignis asked, making his way next to the Prince.
“Seen her share, by the looks of her. Some parts we can fix, others need replacin’.”
“Huh, an overhaul.” Gladio joined the conversation.
“Don’t y’all worry. Paw-paw ain’t goin’ nowhere ‘till the job’s done. Parts won’t fetch ‘emselves, though. Was kinda hopin’ y’all wouldn’t mind helpin’ out with that?”
“We’re at your disposal.” Ignis answered sincerely.
“To tell the truth, we already got a couple hands on deck: Dustin an’ Monica. Those two have been real swell. Managed to gather just about everything we need.”
“You can depend on the Crownsguard.” Six commented proudly, smile taking its place on her lips.
“Trouble is, they ain’t had much luck findin’ a certain somethin’ by the name of ‘mythril’. Paw-paw said your sword is made of it, Miss Six, so you’d know when ya see it.”
“Old rascal should have remembered, I’ve had this sword since even before he was born, Cindy. And it was a gift… I don’t exactly know where to find the mythril.”
“Well, apparently the stuff’s hard to come by around these parts, least accordin’ to the little fella from the city.”
“Talcott?”
“You betcha! Sharp as a tack, that one. Could tell y’all more about the stuff’n I could.”
“We’ll be sure to ask.” Noctis finally spoke again.
“Paw-paw’s down on the dock. Now, if y’all’d excuse me, I’m gonna grab my tools and skedaddle. Got a garage to look after.”
“Thanks, Cindy.” Six smiled before hearing Talcott’s greet “Prince Noctis!” hands in the air and eyes full of hope and glee from seeing all of them again, “Hey! Our house is over here!”
“I think Miss Cindy might’ve told you already, but she needs a very special kind of ore called mythril to fix the boat.” little Talcott explained once the company reached him, “Remember the waterfall? I read in Grandpa’s notebook there’s some ruins near a lake just north of there. It said you’ll find mythril inside!”
“Thanks buddy!” Prompto high-fived the kid and he laughed, “We’ll be sure to check it out!”
“What do you wanna do, Noct?” Six asked, once Talcott moved inside the house, the golden color of the sun slowly fading away.
“Let’s go see the lighthouse!” Prompto butted in before his friend had the chance to speak, “Please?”
“Alright.” Six chuckled, “Follow this path up, old Cid will probably be there too.”
“You’re not coming?” Gladio asked, amber eyes searching hers.
“Something caught my eye. I’ll see you in the house.” she smiled before walking away.
While the boys found their way to the lighthouse, admiring the view once they reached the top, Six made her way to the makeshift grave Cid, Monica, Dustin and Talcott had made for Jared. Placing a few flowers she had picked up and paying her respects before moving back to the house. Talcott greeting her and Iris helping her make dinner for everyone.
By the time the boys were back with Cid, dinner was ready.
Once everyone was fed and warm, Cid decided to call it a night, telling everyone to not make much noise as Talcott suggested showing everyone to their rooms.
Noctis’ eyes fell upon the dart game in his and Prompto’s room, challenging his Glaive as Prompto showed Talcott the pictures he had taken. Everyone enjoying the frustration of the Prince and his protector once the blond Gunslinger decided to join; beating them both with ease before deciding it was time to get some well earned sleep.
9am the next morning, everyone was ready to head out again. Six had made arrangements for Nyx’s motorcycle be brought to Hammerhead, safely stored in Cid’s garage, despite his disagreements and comments about it taking too much of his precious space.
“About that lake: preeeetty sure he was talking about the Vesperpool.” Iris told Noctis once everyone was out of the house, ready to make their way to the Regalia. “I asked Monica to look into it, and she told me the road leading there’s under imperial lock-down. You’ll wanna be prepared for anything. So, how’s that coming along?”
“We’re ready to head out.” Noctis answered before Gladio cut him off, his attention turned to his sister. It was time.
“Yeah, just… give us a second.”
“Uh, okay? I’ll be inside, then.”
“So yeah, gonna have to ask you to handle this boat business without me.” Gladio told everyone, eyes looking only at Noctis, knowing Six wouldn’t meet his.
“Say wha-” Prompto took a step back, surprised by the words that came out of the Shield’s mouth. Ignis understood then, what was troubling his friend all this time. She knew.
“Got some business of my own to deal with.” Gladio continued.
“Do your thing.” Noctis answered a couple of seconds later, not seemingly as phased as his friend was, “Not like we could stop you anyway.”
“You know me too well.” Gladio smirked, eyes darting between everyone. “See ya ‘round, guys.”
“Take care of them,” he kissed her temple, lips lingering a couple of second longer, “and yourself.”
Just as he was about to move away, Six reached out, hand grabbing his, making him stop as she kept her eyes on the ground, unable to look at him. This was her idea. And she was terrified, “Be careful, alright?”
Gladio didn’t waste any time, wrapping his arms around her in a tight hug, “I will.”

Expecting (Gladio x Reader)
This was a request a friend of mine made in my ask but since its kind of long I decided to post it here instead. Here’s the prompt:
I got a good one for then. How about a play on his stubbornness and hardheadedness. You always see him willing to give everything to his S/O but what about the rest of his personality? Something to get in the way of what his love wants. She's always wanted children with him, he's completely against it because of his job and the danger that comes with it. Huge fight ensues, she shuts down and drops her wish. Until he sees her with a friend's baby and realizes he yearns for the same w/her. Enjoy!
by- @petitexreine
Anyway enjoy! It it not completely like the prompt but I still hope you enjoy!

A Tuesday
Sitting in the dining room, you drummed your fingers along the table top as your leg bounced up and down. Fidgeting was helping in no way to calm your nerves and yet you couldn’t stop yourself from moving.
“How much longer,” you asked your friend Cindy, who was sitting across from you.
“It’s only been a minute-“
“Well then how long does it take?”
“At least two, hun.”
Cindy could tell you were nervous. Anyone could see that. Reaching across the table she placed her hand over yours and gave you a soft smile. It didn’t calm you any less but it was comforting to know she was there.
Time seemed to move slower than ever and the only sound you could hear was your thumping heart beating in your chest. You wondered if Cindy could hear your panic as she sat across with a concentrative look viewing the small white applicator sitting on the plate in front of her. You had asked her to announce the outcome of the test since you did not know if you could handle the results.
“Okay,” she said slowly, squinting her eyes at the applicator, “I see one line so far.”
“Don’t say ‘so far’,” you begged, “I need that to be the only line.”
Picking up the stick she held it up to the light, “You may get your wish I don’t see…”
“Don’t see what,” you asked, your voice barely making it out of your throat.
“Two lines…” she spoke slowly turning the applicator towards you. Sure enough another line was beginning to darken next to its fellow line.
You looked away and stood up, running your hands over your head, “It has to be a mistake, there is just no way.”
“Sweetie this was the third one you took,” Cindy spoke, pushing herself away from the table and walking over to you.
“Fourth times the charm right,” you asked quietly as your eyes began to well up with tears, “Maybe if we use a different brand...”
“Y/N,” Cindy cooed, placing her hands on your shoulders and looking you in the eyes, “You’re pregnant hun. All the tests will be the same and tell ya the same thing. You’re having a baby.”
“But I-I can’t have a baby. We’re living in darkness and resources are limited, how am I supposed to raise a child?”
“You say it like you’re alone in this.”
“He doesn’t even know I could be pregnant. I have no clue if he even wants kids and what if he isn’t happy about this w-what am I going to do…”
“Stop panicking,” Cindy cut in firmly, “Everything is going to work out. You need to breath and calm down.  Let’s focus on that and then talk about how to tell Gladdy.”
You nodded your head as Cindy pulled you into a tight hug. You leaned your head on her shoulder as tears rolled down your face.
How were you going to tell him? The discussion of starting a family had never been one that the two of you had had. It never seemed to matter to the both of you considered you did not plan on anything like this. But now in the situation you felt panic in your heart thinking about the life growing within you. How could you do this? How could the two of you be careless and bring another person into this dark world? Sure it had been four years since Noct’s disappearance but you had no clue when he would come back. Could be tomorrow or could be another couple years; you had no idea how long this evil in the world would reign. But you knew one thing: you had about seven months to prepare and figure everything out.
A Few Weeks Later
While there were plenty of bounties posted near Dave’s weapons truck, joining a group and leaving Leastallum was another problem all together. With Cindy being the only one who knew of your condition she watched you like a hawk, worried you would get reckless and wound yourself.
“You have to start watching out for that other life now Y/N. It isn’t just you who could get hurt anymore,” she would say whenever you were around. Her words played on repeat in your head. She was right you would have to be more cautious. On top of that you would have to eat healthier and keep yourself out of danger, which meant putting serious hunting gigs on the back burner for a while. Small hunts would be fine but taking down Behemoths was out of the question.
So for the past couple weeks you helped Cid and Cindy with weapon improvements. They upgraded and you polished the finished pieces. They agreed to pay you what little they could given your circumstances but you were just grateful to keep your mind and hands preoccupied.
At the end of your days you arrived home just in time to make it to the bathroom. Your nausea came in waves but when it hit you were at its mercy. Thankfully Gladio had not seen your symptoms yet. If he had he would probably be able to put things together: loss of appetite, sickness, mood swings and even headaches. You managed to hide most them all pretty well but knew he needed to know; sooner rather than later.
Sooner came quicker than you anticipated when you were sitting on the couch curled up with him watching a movie you both had seen for the umpteenth time. He sat with his legs stretched out on the coffee table and his arm draped over your shoulders. You leaned into him with your head resting on his chest and your legs curled up underneath the blanked the two of your shared.
The scene in the movie was of a mother and daughter being reunited with a man who had been declared dead after a war. It was a tender moment full of cries of joy and happy smiles; a seemingly perfect family on display. Without thinking you placed a hand on your stomach, not even realizing your actions.
“Hey,” you whispered looking to Gladio.
Turing his head he gave you a small smile, “Hm?”
“Do you think you would want that,” you asked, pointing to the screen.
“What to come back from war and see my family in a cloud of tears and ugly crying faces?”
“Don’t be a smart ass,” you laugh, “I mean a family.”
He smiled and kissed the top of your head, “I already have my family.”
“Of course you have me,” you whispered, “but what about kids?”
The expression on his face contorted into a look of complete seriousness as the next word he muttered was a firm “No”.
“No?”
“No,” he repeated looking at you.
“Why not,” you asked, sitting up and turning to him.
“Why would I? Kids cry and shit themselves. I don’t want to have to give a kid all my time and I definitely don’t want to raise one in this world. You’d have to be stupid to want something like that. You would be even more irresponsible to have one.” You sat silently as he continued, “Besides I have no clue when Noctis gets back but when he does he is my first priority. I swore an oath and I can’t have a kid getting in the middle of that.”
“Oh so you can take an oath but a vow doesn’t mean anything to you,” you shot back, crossing your arms over your chest.
“Hey you knew when you said ‘I do’ that I made a promise to the crown. I can’t just ignore that tradition.” His expression was a little darker now as he looked at you. Irritation was radiating off of him.
“I never expected you to ‘ignore’ it but I figured you would still feel a little remorse having to leave me behind.”
“Well yeah of course I would,” he said, bits of frustration in his tone, “But why put that on a child. What happens if I don’t come back, how are you supposed to tell a kid that? Look I don’t want to argue, you asked and I am telling you I just don’t want kids.”
“And what if I want them? Does that not matter to you?” You were yelling a bit now, your voice higher than you meant it to go.
Standing up he shook his head and headed for the kitchen.
“Are you seriously walking away,” you asked, rising up to follow him.
“I’m done with this conversation,” he retorted angrily, still not turning to look at you.
“Well I’m not,” you shouted, grabbing a pillow and throwing it at his back.
At the contact he tensed up and slowly turned to you. His amber eyes were darker now and he was a fearsome sight to behold. You felt your heart beating furiously as you felt a rage over come you that you had never felt before. How could he look at you like this and treat you like a second choice?
“I already told you-,” he began slowly before you interrupted him.
“I heard what you said,” you yelled, “But what about me? “
“You-,” he started but was cut off again.
“What about what I want? What about my future? What about-,” you tried to finish but he had closed the space between you and was in your face now.
“Then you obviously picked the wrong guy,” he bellowed making you jump. The sudden outburst left you stunned and silent. You looked away from him as he maneuvered his way around you and across the living space, “I’m going for a walk. Don’t wait up.” With that he opened the front door and slammed it shut, making you jump and the pictured on the walls to rattle.
You took in a deep breath and released a sob. Grabbing onto a nearby chair you sat yourself down and cried into your hands. That had gone much worse than you had expected.
A Few Days Later
It had been days since you and Gladio had spoken to each other. You couldn’t bring yourself to look at him since each time you did you were reminded of the unwanted bit in your stomach. You weren’t even sure what to do anymore. Should you get rid of it? Keep it and leave? There was no good outcome.
You stood at Iris’s shop and helped her fold clothes she had for sale. The two of you chit-chatted about trivial things as you tried to occupy your mind with other thoughts. As you were in the middle of conversing, a local hunter by the name of Gutsco approached the two of you.
“Hey Y/N I’m sorry to interrupt,” he began, “But I wanted to ask if you were interested in going on this hunt later this afternoon. It’s for an infected Karlabos nearby and we need one more person to make a team. You know they won’t let you leave the city without a certain amount of people.”
You nodded at him and glanced past him and towards Cid’s weapons station. Cindy did not appear to be around and you turned you attention back to Gutsco, “When do we leave?”
Afternoon
The hike from the camp was a little longer than you anticipated. You felt weaker than normal, most likely due to the life growing within you and stealing your energy for itself. Your head was beginning to pound as you sighed wishing for these side effects to go away. You grabbed onto your stomach and silently pleaded for the baby to let you feel alright and stop making you nauseous. “How can something the size of an olive make me feel so bad,” you muttered to yourself glancing down at your belly.
You did not tell Gladio you were going on a trip. You figured some time apart may do you both some good. It was only one night, what could happen?
Lost in your thought you nearly ran into the back of one of your other comrades, who had stopped moving. Looking past her you could see the large creature about fifty yards away. It was unaware of the groups presence, which was good.
Giving a signal, Gustco motioned for everyone to take their positions. Back at camp it had been decided that when in range, the hunters would encompass the creature and move in slowly, ultimately catching it off guard and disposed of quickly.
In theory this plan would have worked perfectly.
In actuality it failed miserably on account of the imps that were hiding in the bushes nearby and alerting the beast.
Everyone soon found themselves slightly outnumbered as they swung their swords mercilessly. You killed imp after imp and soon began to feel as though you were getting somewhere. Looking over to the Karlabos you glanced over your shoulder to Gutsco who just finished killing the last of his personal imp hoard. Giving him a solid nod, he raced over to you and sprinted past towards the creature. Unlike Gutsco who was given glaive powers, you were not so special. You carried a katana and fought hand to hand combat without any sort of warping or magical abilities. It was not a hindering sort of thing but it called for much more precaution than normal.
Swinging at the creatures legs you tried to wound them into submission. To your dismay, the armor covering the beast’s legs were solid. The creature turned quickly and lunged its pinchers at you, to which you rolled out of the way.
Going to stand you felt a pain in your stomach as you clutched your abdomen. Looking up you saw the creature coming at you again to which you avoided. Trying to stand you felt your legs give out as you kneeled to the ground. Your head began to pound as you felt a sickening feeling rush over your body. The creature turned to you and halted a moment before racing towards you and using its body to slam into you. You flew back a few feet and fell limp unto the ground, your subconscious fading into darkness just as the world had.
The Next Day
You awoke in a bed that wasn’t yours. The room smelled of sanitizer and you wearily glanced down to see a needle poking out from your arm. No one was around except for a person sitting in a chair near the entrance reading a book. He looked as he normally did; dress in black and his wild hair combed back. Stubble rested upon his face and dark circles had taken refuge under his eyes. He was drained.
“You look rough,” you mumbled, looking over to him. At the sound of your voice his head shot up and he was out of his chair and rushing to your side.
“Hey,” he whispered sitting on the bed next to you, his hand cupping your face. You placed your hand over his and leaned into him. It had only been a couple days of silence but you had missed him.
“How are you feeling,” he asked concerned.
“Sore,” you replied, closing your eyes and leaning your head back.
“I bet,” he chuckled, “That Karlabos sent you flying from what I hear.”
“Yeah I guess it did,” you replied. You suddenly remembered the pain prior to your flight and you look down to your belly. Was the baby okay? Did anything happen to it?
Seeing the panic in your expression Gladio took your hand in his, “It’s fine.”
“What,” you ask trying to hide your nerves.
“Y/N,” he spoke, “I know.”
“About?”
“About the baby.”
At his words you instantly felt your throat tighten up and your eyes begin to fill with tears. Bringing your hand up to your mouth you tried to stifle a sob that was attempting to escape. Shaking your head you swallowed your cry and looked to him, “I-I’m so sorry. I should’ve told you but you said you didn’t want a kid and I didn’t know what to do after that. I don’t want to leave you, I don’t ever want to leave you but I don’t want to lose the baby either. I don’t know what to do but I don’t want you to go.”
At the sight of your cries, Gladio pulls you to him, careful of your IV. He engulfs you in an embrace as he lets you cry.
“I will never leave you Y/N,” he begins, “I said those things because I’m scared. I don’t know the first thing about being a dad. And I would never have wanted to decisively bring a kid into this world; one full of daemons and monsters.  I would have never chosen that on purpose. How am I supposed to protect them? I couldn’t even protect Noctis. Every time I leave you I worry I may not come home or worse; I come home and you’re gone. Killed in combat or maybe you realize how unworthy I am of you. I’m scared as hell that I’ll lose someone else I love and I can’t handle that.” You looked up to him, seeing that his own eyes began to fill with tears, “I love you so much it scares me but there is not one other person on Eos I would rather start a family with. We messed up but were going to make this work. Boy or girl I already love that thing inside you. I love you Y/N and I won’t ever leave you or our kid.”
Placing your hand on his cheek you wiped away the droplets that fell. Leaning up you placed a soft kiss on his lips, leaned your forehead against his and whispered, “I love you,” so quietly only he would be the one to hear them, “We can do this.”
“I know,” he replied, placing a hand on your stomach, “We’re having a kid.”
“Yeah,” you laughed as you watched him smile and stare at your stomach. The affection and amazement in his gaze filled you with absolute adoration for the man. In that moment everything felt right. Felt as though you both were going to be alright and that was a feeling you had been waiting for, for quite some time.

Hi I loved your depression/self harm headcanons! Would you consider continuing them with noctis, gladio, luna, and cindy? ❤
missusignis: Right away! I loved this ask!
WARNING: Mentions of self harm, depression and cutting. There will be a read more! Continues under the cut!
Noctis:
The Prince knows about your depression even if you don’t tell him. He’s seen the signs before with Prompto.
He doesn’t know about your constant thoughts of self-harm, though.
If he knew, he would have right away gotten you help. Noctis wouldn’t have let you fight it alone for so long.
But because he didn’t know, the situation before him had taken place.
Noctis will thank his lucky stars that he got home when he did. If he had been a second later...would you have gone through with it? He doesn’t want to think about the answer.
You look so stunned to see him home (you shouldn’t be...you should know his schedule but you were so caught up in your thoughts).
The small dagger trembles in your hand as fat tears start to stream down your face.
He’s going to leave me, he’s going to leave me, he’s going to leave me, I’m so stupid…-
Noctis is hugging you. He’s hugging you and rubbing your back as you sob.
“We’ll get you help, Y/N. It’s okay...I’m sorry for letting this go on. We’ll get through this together. I’m here now...I’m not going anywhere.”
Gladio:
Out of all the bros, Gladio is the one who doesn’t realize that something is off with you.
That’s not to say that he doesn’t care or that he’s stupid but he has a lot on his plate between his duties, his family and his relationship with you.
He has caught you crying in the bathroom before but you’re always quick to reassure him that you’re okay.
Gladio knows you’re not okay when he catches you holding a paper clip in your hand, bent out of shape so that a sharp end is out and against your skin.
He gets angry at first, shouting and slapping the clip out of your hand. He’s towering over you, cursing and demanding to know why.
Internally, he’s scared. How did he miss the signs? How could he have been so stupid?
It’s only when you start sobbing that he forces himself to calm down. Shouting and cursing are not going to help...they’re only going to make you shut down.
Gladio isn’t the least bit surprised to find himself sobbing too before pulling you into a tight hug.
He murmurs ‘I-love-yous’ and ‘It’s-going-to-be-okays’ against your hair.
Luna:
Nothing gets by Lunafreya.
The minute she realizes that your depression is getting worse, she steps in.
Whatever work your doing, whatever job you have, she makes a personal request for you to have time off. You need help and she intends to see to it that you get.
Luna will be with you every step of the way. She’ll hold your hand when you feel the need to cut arise. She’ll kiss your scars and murmur one reason why she loves you. She’ll hold you when you can’t sleep at night because your mind won’t shut off.
Out of all of them, Luna is the one who does everything in her absolute power to ensure that the world no longer weighs on your shoulder.
Cindy:
Cindy may be a “grease monkey” but she’s not stupid. She knows you suffer from depression and that it’s been getting worse.
Her solution? Teaching you how to repair cars, of course!
Maybe if you take your mind off of your problems until you’re calmer, then just maybe you’ll start to feel a little better.
You’ll be surprised at how much it does help. With your mind focused on working side by side with Cindy, you’re able to just relax a little. Does it make your depression disappear? Of course not. But it’s something and that’s all Cindy wants for you.
When you feel a little calmer, you open up about your troubles.
Cindy is a great listener. And when you seriously open up about what you need, she’s going to do what she can to make sure you get it.
Cindy knows that depression is no joke. She knows that working on cars is only a small distraction.
As you get help for your depression, Cindy and you continue to work on cars side by side. Looks like you’re turning into a grease monkey too!

Early Morning Grocery Run
Written at 2am the other night when I couldn’t sleep and just felt the need for fluff.
Gladio glared at the sign above the all night market before getting out of the car. 2:30 in the damn morning and he was being sent out on a shopping run for Iris. She had woken up with an odd craving and with Ignis unable to drive the responsibility fell on big brother Gladdy to get what his little sister wanted.
This would be hilarious if he wasn’t so damn exhausted.
“Gladio!” A voice called out from across the parking lot. “You got sent out too?”
Without even glancing back Gladio nodded, grabbing a basket. "Ugh yeah...I thought she would have gotten over this crap seeing as the little pod thing is about to pop out." He muttered stealing a glance at his phone and the shopping list Ignis had sent him.
“One more month and you’re going to be Uncle Gladdy!" Gladio could hear the smile on his friend’s face as Prompto slapped him on the back. “Can you believe it?”
Gladio scowled as he walked in the store, "No. And I definitely didn’t see Iggy as the baby daddy.” He waited for Prompto to catch up with him. "I thought Cindy had stopped the whole puking thing?"
Prompto laughed and smiled brightly. “Hey, she had to grow up sooner or later and they’re happy so who are we to question?” Quickly grabbing a cart, Prompto chased after Gladio. “She did for a month. The Doc isn’t too concerned yet, said it’s normal." Prompto sighed, walking along side his friend and they went up and down the isles. “I just hope this is the worst of it.” He muttered Grabbing a bag of candied bacon.
“Hopefully.” Galdio continued his search for the ingredients. “Iris is on bedrest until she pops...She is not happy." He yawned, dropping a canister of fried onion crisps into his basket. "Does Cindy want sweet tea? Iris has been really jonesing for that half tea half lemonade crap. Iggy’s insisting he make it but she only wants that one brand they sell in Hammerhead.”
The other man shrugged, “Can’t hurt.” He reached for a few more things to drop into his cart "You had to at least kind of expect it with Iris though. You Amicitias run kind of large."
Galdio gave a little nod as he reached for another item on the list, "Yeah, this little girl is gonna be a tank." He muttered before groaning and dropping his head. "Fuck! You didn’t hear that from me. I’m not even supposed to know but Iris let it slip last week. If she finds out I told you, I am dead!”
His friend burst out into a huge grin. “Dude that is awesome! You know Iggy’s been hoping it’s a girl!”
“Yeah well he’s supposed to be surprised so do not tell him.” Gladio growled as he turned to head down the meat section.
Prompto just smirked, “Iris want Dualhorn steak again?”
“No.” He grumbled, “Behemoth mince meat pie…with marshmallow sauce.” His phone beeped and Galdio glanced down at the new message with a groan. “And now more gummy bears. I'm just gonna buy her the five pound bag." He muttered, heading back to the isle.
“Awww,” Prompto cooed as he followed after. “You are the best big brother! She is so lucky to have you and you are going to be the best uncle!”
Gladio fought another yawn and shook his head with a small smile. "You about done? I need to get this stuff back so Ignis can start making this garbage."
“Just need to get Cindy her cookies and cream ice-cream.” Prompto felt lucky Cindy only seemed to want ‘normal’ things and none of the strange concoctions that Iris had Ignis making on a near daily basis. “So you ready for the big day? It’s coming up quick.”
“Shouldn’t you be asking Iggy that?” Gladio looked over at Prompto as they headed to the freezer section. “My responsibility is to have the whisky and cigars prepped for the announcement."
"You got the good stuff right?” Finding the shelf that had Cindy’s favorite brand and flavor, Prompto grabbed a container and dropped it in his cart. “Not the crappy ones Cor said your dad got when you were born."
"The good-good stuff." Gladio nodded with a soft laugh, “Now let’s get going, it’s to early for this kind of shit.”
“Right!” Prompto quickly spun his cart around and after a running start, jumped onto the little foot rest, coasting down until he reached the check out. “You have fun helping Iggy make all that stuff!”
Gladio snorted and went to stand behind Prompto in the only open checkout lane. “No. He did this, he can make this crap for her himself.” As much as it still irritated him that Ignis and his little sister had…hooked-up he could tell that it was something real. After checking out and grabbing his bags, Gladio waved goodbye to Prompto and headed for the car. Maybe after he got this back to the house he’d be able to get another two hours of sleep before he needed to get back up and head to the Citadel.
