Glassblower!Bakugou, who uses the explosive fire of the furnace to transform the raw material into glass. Glassblower Bakguou who uses breath and movement and the strength of his body to throw and spin and expand the glass into the most ephemeral shapes and vessels. Glassblower!Bakugou who's technical skill rivals his strength, who creates pieces as bold as they are finessed and delicate.
He rarely attends the viewings of his pieces because he wants them to speak for themselves, but he always attends his classes where he teaches a new generation how to respect and craft with his favorite medium.
Then he meets you, who won a scholarship to his beginners class. For the first time he's hearing laughter in his sweatshop, as you react in delight seeing the process of gathering glass, scaring yourself into giggles as you turn on the powerful torches.
He falls back in love with glass seeing your eagerness to learn and understand. You ask insightful questions that make you think and genuinely can't stop thinking about you after the first class.
When you have to cancel the last class suddenly because your nephew is sick and needs you to look after him, he's suddenly on your doorstep with your final piece in hand grumbling, "How's the kid?"
He doesn't even know what he's doing there, but when he sees you smile- the tension in his chest melts away.

my dude;
i bought one of your sea slugs maybe a year and a half ago and it literally inspired me to take up lampworking
after a year of getting less shit, i think i am good enough to try and imitate one of your sea slugs (not for sale! just for me ☺️)
do you have any tips? and do i have your permission to basically copy your idea
thank you
That's wonderful to hear! You have my permission but only if I get to see it c:
As for tips you probably already know the most important thing is to keep it equally hot as you work on it, as hot as you can just before the glass changes shape gives you the most time to put on details.
To make a sea slug I melt a rod to get a mass of glass, make a rough body shape, attach a pointed clear glass rod on the opposite end as the punty, add on the design of the body and shape some more, then add the "tail" and "ears" and finally heat up long metal tweezers to hold onto it and then melt the punty off and stick it directly into a hot kiln. You could also let it cool down and aneal it later.
The easiest glass to work with are transparent colours, opaque glass melts really fast and loses details quickly while semi-opaque or milky glass shocks and cracks really easy while having a smaller window of time to work with. Using a colour like blue, green, or black will let you see the orange heat in the glass so you can better judge how cold it is getting, clear makes it more difficult to see the heat.
And the real most important thing is to make sure you are wearing an apron, glasses, and have proper ventilation, you don't want to breathe in heavy metals or get nasty burns on your torso, trust me.
Please let me see your creations when they are done! Glass is a really tricky medium but as with anything, repetition and thinking of your moves ahead of time makes it doable. If you have any more questions I'd be glad to share what I've learned so far.

OK...the glassblowing AU was spawned in the comment section of a current WIP. Triss is the very single artist/owner of a glassblowing studio, somehow Sabrina makes her way into a class, and the rest is history. This one will probably lean toward the sillier side, because DID YOU KNOW THE FURNACE IN GLASSBLOWING IS REFERRED TO AS A GLORY HOLE? Jaskier and Yen have things to say about that.
Next, we have a smirking, but reserved owner of a shop selling fountain pens, specialty inks, paper, etc (deVries stationary) located next to a tattoo shop. The new artist is a bit chaotic, but has flowing black hair and the most unique purple eyes. Their lives intersect...the rest is history. This would probably be more serious, but also, I can't really take anything seriously?

watched blown away season 4! i detest morgan she gives me 2013 edgy tumblr vibes. her stuff isnt even that scary/creepy and theyre all “ooo terrified to my core” like shut up.
spoilers for s4 ending
ALSO she shouldn’t of won, genuinely there was so many times she shouldve been sent home!!! definitely shouldnt have won! one of the criterias was creativity and she just did the cell block tango murders in glass form. tbf it is a cool installation (im a sucker for interactive work) BUT IT WASNT HER IDEA??? it wasnt a sloght reference or a clever twist on it, it was just the 6 murders in glass form ://// boring. she shouldnt of won the spooky challenge either he mushroom was boring asf and average.
