Clavis, Gilbert, Jin, Leon, Silvio, Nokto - Enjoy the chaos, energy, and challenge of traveling densely packed cities. It feels like an adventure.

The Bros - modern sports? sports cars? motorcycles? music and dancing? Enthralled.

Licht & Yves - Go to a concert hall and are astounded by the grandeur and new feeling of modern orchestral music (and both cry throughout.)

Chev, Sariel, Alter!Keith, Silvio - might be persuaded to go if you wanted to, entirely to watch your reactions (Although Silvio is secretly terrified)

Jin, Silvio, & Sariel - Go to every winery they find. They single-handedly save one small vineyard from going under with a huge purchase and some excellent business advice.

Clavis - From the moment I was introduced to this gremlin, I have been cursed to judge every single meme I come across: Would Clavis like this? Imagine this loser’s glee spamming incomprehensible nonsense to everyone (and airdropping them to strangers to watch their reactions).

Licht, Sariel, & Keith - Have never been so at peace after discovering relaxing instrumental playlists on Spotify.

Jin & Nokto - Discover they love modern music and let you take them to a rave. Life changing.

Chevalier & Sariel - Are far too happy to use the silent mode on their phones. Everyone curses them when there’s emergencies (Clavis purposely got on the wrong train again).

Jin wanders into a martial-arts class. Walks out three hours later beloved by the kids and the teachers.

Rio & Luke - Goes to animal shelters and names all of them. Tries to smuggle out a puppy. Does not succeed. There may be tears.

Silvio - Loves NYC. In a different life he would have been born there.

Clavis - Comes across a street caricature artist and spends a gleeful two hours having them draw everyone from pictures off his phone.

Nokto, Jin, Leon, Silvio - Inflict their ignorant selves on helpless clubs every chance they get. Imagine them trying to learn how to dance???

Gilbert, Silvio, Sariel, Nice!Keith - Love museums. Gilbert asks the employees disturbing and inappropriate questions. Clavis is obsessed with the science museum. Begs to go back several times.

Who would be the best dressed? My guesses? Silvio, Yves, Chev, and Sariel would turn heads for sure.

for the DC ask meme - Riddler? I feel like I don't see people bringing up best works for him much

Oh, Eddie is a character who is all over the place and you need to embrace a spectrum of stories for.

If you want to know how dark Riddler can get, get thee to Dark Knight, Dark City: Batman #452-454. I know I bang on about it a lot but it's an incredible combination of a bunch of aspects of Riddler's character: his drive to make things fit the plan he has; his utterly amoral nature, exploiting knowledge of 'what makes people react' without confronting WHY they react that way; his glee that even while being foiled he's forced Batman to do things his way. You will never look at him the same way afterwards.

If you want a redeemed Eddie trying his hardest, and still just endlessly frustrating to those around him, can I introduce you to Detective Comics #845. I adore this comic. My favourite aspect of it is that Eddie even while acting as a consulting detective is smug and overconfident; Bruce and Bobo are able to run circles around him (the Detective chat room!!!).

I'm also going to put in a plug for Batman: Riddler and the Riddle Factory, which I've only just read but is a really solidly told Riddler story. It's his classic shtick of setting clues, of forcing the people around him to guess the answers, and of wanting to be acknowledged as clever. It's just everything you expect to see in a story about him concentrated into a single plot, and that doesn't happen a lot post-Crisis, as he tends to not be used to tell straight stories on his own anymore.

[Character Analysis Ask Meme]

This is a really interesting ask and I’ve been thinking about it ever since you sent it. There are three answers I have for you, but two are copouts and the last doesn’t satisfy the requirements.

The first two scenarios deal with the same thing: you scare him in some way. This can be achieved two different ways: Klee facing imminent danger that he can’t immediately mitigate and, if he cares about you, doing the same to yourself. Nothing scares a calculated person more than a sudden situation they have no control over. What this accomplishes is putting him into a state of panic. And, should everything be alright in the end, you can rightfully expect him to snap in fury before pulling you in for a hug.

However, the reason why I consider this a copout is that I think this kind of scenario would get most people to react in this way. And while he would be angry and have an outburst, I don’t really consider this scenario “anger.” It’s more panic, you know?

So that being said, I don’t really think it’s exactly possible to get Albedo angry to the point of having an outburst, at least in the typical sense. Albedo is not a burning fury kind of person. He is cold fury. When he gets truly mad, his emotions shut down and he turns into a heartless machine. Think of Scar killing Mufasa, except without the smile and glee. He’d look down at you with ice-cold eyes as he ever so casually pushes you back to lose your grip.

To get him into this state, though, I think it would take work. One possible scenario would be betraying him and then having everything go wrong. Not a cold calculated betrayal (he’d sense your untrustworthiness), but maybe one from fear? For example, he treated you as a friend, but upon getting threatened by the Abyss, you betray Mondstadt in fear of your life, and then whoops, people get hurt and/or killed. In that case, you both betrayed his kindness and ultimately disappointed him. He was wrong about you. You are no better than the dirt beneath his feet.

Thank you so much for the ask, @oneirataxia-girl!! I’m also gonna tag @luucypevensie, @ginger-grimm, and @dancingsunflowers-ocs since I know they love my girl as well. <3

HOW THEY’D BE INTRODUCED:

Ivy’s first scene would be the same as that of most of the main cast in the pilot episode: singing during her audition for New Directions while a voice-over introduces her by her name and what she’s singing. She’d be singing “Roxie” from Chicago, and it would probably be made clear how similar she was to Rachel, talented and very well knowing it.

WHO THE FANDOM SHIPS THEM WITH:

Probably a decent mix of a bunch of other characters. Her main ship would be Sam, of course, but there would also be people who shipped her with Artie and Mike and even Santana or Rachel or Quinn.

WHY THE FANDOM LOVES THEM:

Ivy is very similar to Rachel but not half as arrogant or stuck-up, so I think a lot of people would like her because they consider her a better alternative to Rachel - all of the talent and determination but none of the big head about it. They would probably also appreciate how often she calls other characters out on their bullshit, even Rachel and Finn and Mr. Schue, and a lot of her snappy comments and feminist lines would probably be the source of a lot of memes and GIFs and incorrect quotes.

WHY THE FANDOM HATES THEM:

Despite not being as arrogant as Rachel, Ivy is still uber-competitive and refuses to let anybody but Mercedes and her family closest to her for the longest time, especially the Unholy Trinity and any of the football boys, because she doesn’t trust them to really want to be her friend. This can definitely come off as cold and bitchy, which she honestly is a little bit, but I think a lot of people would only see it on the surface level and hate her because of it.

WHAT THE CAST RELATIONSHIP WOULD BE LIKE:

Auli’i Cravalho is an absolute gem, so I can totally see her getting along great with the cast! She’d probably be real-life besties with Amber Riley as well as on the screen, and I can definitely see her cracking jokes in interviews with Kevin Hale and Dianna Agron and just being really cute friends with everyone.

WHAT THEIR AUDITION SCENE WAS:

I imagine the audition scene for Ivy’s role would have been her first scene, auditioning for New Directions, accompanied by a reading of her first voice-over, even though that wouldn’t come until a few episodes later. It would be a perfect way to test auditioning actresses’ singing and how they could introduce the character, and reading the voice-over lines would allow the casting staff to see how they could embody the character beyond the first episode.

DEPENDANT ON THE FANDOM, WHO THEY’D BE AT PRESS TOURS/AT COMIC CON WITH:

I don’t think the Glee cast ever went to Comic Con, but during interviews I imagine Auli’i would probably mainly be with Amber Riley, since they play best friends, and probably Chord Overstreet in later seasons once Ivy and Sam’s relationship progresses.

IF THEY SPOIL THINGS:

I don’t really think Auli’i seems like the spoiling type, so probably not.

IF THE MOVIE/SHOW HAS ENDED, IF THEY’RE HAPPY WITH THEIR CHARACTER’S ENDING AND THE ENDING AT LARGE:

I think Auli’i would be - by the end of the show, Ivy’s getting ready for her first big Broadway role, she and Sam are in a really good place in their relationship, and she’s even sold some of her original songs to a recording company. What’s not for an actor to be happy about?

2. What's your total AO3 word count? 1,674,136 uploaded as of right now, and I know that over 1 million of those words are JatP.

3. What fandoms do you write for? Currently just Julie and the Phantoms, but in past I wrote primarily for Glee/Glee RPF, and Teen Titans. There's no other fandom really interesting me enough to write for it at moment.

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? Honestly no I don't. I tried, once upon a time, but I just felt like no one really cared what I had to say, and then I didn't have the spoons for it, so I stopped. I know I should though, my brain just doesn't seem to like letting me.

6. What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Hands down it is Haunted by the moments of what we used to be because every comment I got on it was some variation of how very dare you.

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Generally I try to give all of my stories a happy ending, but for this one, I'll go with Yellow Wood because it gave everyone a happy ending, no matter the path taken.

8. Do you get hate on fics? Currently no, but when the blacklist was a thing that happened, my name was second on there, so that kind of sucked.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? Out of my 84 JatP fics, 24 are rated E, and my smut prompt fills are currently sitting at 80 something chapters, so you tell me. In honesty, I don't write smut as much anymore, as I find it a little more difficult to write and the response to anything rated above a T is vastly lower than anything else. But when I started in this fandom, it was what I was known for; see my point regarding the black list.

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written? I actually kind of hate crossovers? If I'm looking for a fic to read on AO3, I always click the Exclude Crossovers choice. I'll write any and every AU I can, and I might add minor characters from said AU, but that's rare, and that's as close as I get.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? Unfortunately yes. There was a person on WattPad who went and stole a bunch of different smutty JatP fics over a year ago, and one of mine was amongst them. They were reported, and the fic was taken down. This is why now my fics on AO3 are only available to registered AO3 users.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated? No, but if anyone ever wants to do a translation or podfic of any of my stories, they have my permission as long as they credit me and send me a link afterwards!

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? No, and no one has ever asked. It's something I'd love to try if the chance ever came along, and had the right idea.

14. What's your all-time favorite ship? I mean I can't pick just one, I've been involved in fandoms since I was a teenager. Like for Teen Titans Raven/Beast Boy will always own a piece of my soul. In Glee, Kurt/Blaine was such a formative part of my life. And even with Jatp I don't think I could choose between Rulie and PeterPatterLina, they both mean so much to me. And those are just the fandoms I've written for!

15. What's a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will? *looks at my GDocs which is a WiP graveyard* Oh gosh there's so many.

16. What are your writing strengths? My brain is not being kind to me ATM, so I don't think I have any? Like maybe how much I write? Does that count?

17. What are your writing weaknesses? Everything. Editing especially.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? I have done this quite a bit, even if it's just plugging what I want to say into Google Translate. So I know it's not entirely accurate, but I think I have been getting better about it.

19. First fandom you wrote for? The first fic I ever wrote that wasn't done like on a dare was a smutty fic for the anime Trigun that still exists on my ff.net page if you find it (no I'm not linking it) that I wrote in high school. It is Not Good.

"The Martian AU"

I’ve seen a few „author of the Martian AU, if you see this, know how much we loved your story” posts go around and because I know the author I can tell you that yes, the author of the Martian AU is on tennisblr sometimes and you should probably have wished that they weren’t. Tennisblr and one aspect of the fan culture on this website is precisely why Blood Star is gone and why it most likely won’t be coming back.

Several times over the last months I have tried to tell all of you to be a bit less cruel about certain tennis players, and one Novak Djokovic in particular (because with your hate posting you are bullying the fans of the player, not the player!). The way he gets treated on here bothers me too, obviously, and I’ve spoken up for my own sake sometimes, but I tolerate a lot (maybe too much). When, however, my friends are affected by this stuff, it’s a different matter.

So one of my friends is this incredible writer, who decided to share a tennis fic with all of you for free, just for the love of storytelling and because they enjoy writing it, and they did this even though they’re a slow writer and they pour a lot of time into each chapter. As we all know, this story resonated. I have never seen so many gushing posts about a fanfic on tennisblr, at least not since I joined. What only a few of you know but what you really could have guessed to a certain extent because of the way the character of the same name is portrayed in Blood Star is that they are also a big Novak fan. In fact, he’s their fave.

I don’t know if you can imagine how jarring it is to see people on here, and often the very same people who gush about that fic, make/share mocking memes about the player they support, diagnose him as a definite racist for no good reason and just generally wish for that player to lose and be done as soon as possible (I obviously don’t remember who posts what because I’m not that chronically online, but I think I have only mentioned stuff here that has been reblogged or posted by people who also professed to love that story).

Well, the fact that this story disappeared on the day Novak lost his semifinal is no coincidence. Personally, I think the hate maybe wasn’t even quite as bad as when he lost Wimbledon, but that just tells you how absolutely awful it was before. (And it was still so bad this time around that some people who aren’t Novak fans asked for people to tone it down, which I’m very grateful for!) In any case, the author of the Martian AU ventured onto tumblr that day, and who can blame them for feeling a certain betrayal about the fact that many of the people who were so kind to them when it came to their story couldn’t at least keep their glee about the author’s favourite tennis player losing an important match to themselves, or keep it to direct messages or wherever else the Novak fans wouldn’t be bombarded with it. No, all those posts about how great it is to see this player lose, about how good it apparently is for tennis, about how people can’t wait for him to hang up his racquet etc. were there to mock them instead.

Us fanfic authors write for fun, and when the fun stops, we stop writing. Well, the fun stopped and the story is gone.

heyo! i'm atria (pronounced ey-tri-ya), 21, and a college senior struggling studying creative writing in the philippines. i use she/her pronouns and i'm very much sapphic thank you.

when did you watch bad buddy/join the fandom?

december 14, 2021, when i decided to binge what my twitter mutuals have been hyping about on my tl for weeks.

i had been on a hiatus prior to that, having just been suffering from julie and the phantoms brainrot, that it surprised me that my old fandom mutuals were moving on collectively to another show. so many tweets analyzing and raving about the show caught my attention because i'm all about those, those are my cup of tea, especially the night of episode 5 airing. i watched a clip of the rooftop scene and i wanted to know why they were crying and why one of them walked away, so i had it on my watchlist. i was still busy with schoolwork though so i didn't get to actually start watching until two weeks later, four days after episode 7 aired (hence 12/14/21) at 10 PM with my sheets pulled up. it was me and my phone against the world.

yes i made it worse because that week was my finals—but to my defense, to my defense, i had already finished half of it and was close in finishing the other half of my exams.

joined the fandom like not even an hour later after i binged 1-7 because i came on twitter and was met with a warm welcome.

favorite ship(s)

patpran and inkpa. i have my fair share of liking rare pairs (clary and izzy from shadowhunters tv, riley and farkle from girl meets world, quinn and rachel from glee) but for shows like these, nah. haha the main pairs really do it for me.

favorite character(s)

pat - mans was so relatable. sexually fluid, thought he had a crush on his different-gendered friend but turned out to be in love with someone who is of the same gender who was right in front of him the whole time. became closer to different-gendered friend after confessing to them i'm totally not projecting haha what do you man

ink - ah, ink nolastname my beloved. introduced as a red herring but ended up having her own sapphic love story?? no other girl in a bl could ever.

junior - i thought he'd just be a one-episode side character but him serving the story in multiple ways got to me. he felt like patpran's child which is so cute, but also a representation of the freedom patpran's own kid selves could have had.

favorite episode(s)

3 - falls under the romcom formula of pat just following pran around like a dumb oblivious puppy and while we the audience are attuned to pran's perspective, once you rewatch episode 3, you realize how much pat has not been lying about how he feels for both pran and ink and that his behavior says it all.

5 - do you even need to ask. i'm pat-biased so him speedrunning his sexuality was so funny and so devastating at the same time.

10 - some people have said that i'm a masochist for this one. but in all seriousness when i first watched it (which was via iWant and not YouTube, so i had no interruptions of 4 parts and got to watch all four parts immediately and earlier than everyone else because if you didn't know back when it was airing, the premiering of the parts would have an interval of around 5-15 minutes each) it felt so long and advanced the plot the most. it had all: inkpa getting together, patpran being adorable annoying bfs, and learning about their generational trauma. yikes! i loved the angst of it all.

one thing you would change about the show if you could

just one??? i mean haha sure...

the whole plot of wai getting mad at pran and how they resolved it. like come on man, the best friend hates when one lies to the other trope is so lame and overused. it's not just pat getting shot, it was the whole thing of the archi gang being unfairly mad without bothering to learn about why he lied. if they didn't feel like side characters then who are just there to put external conflict and less like actual friends who got hurt from the secret, they certainly acted most like it in episode 9.

what are your some of your favorite fanworks made by other people?

i made a fanfic recommendation thread and i have a couple of bbs edits saved in all of tiktok, instagram, and twitter, but if i had to really narrow it down, that'd be tough. hmm.

gif - i search @pranpats' pat breaking silently post every few months to make myself cry whenever i need a good one. my baby boy my baby boy i love him so much. i tuck him in bed and give him nong nao. btw the sharpening of this gif made pat's tears so much clearer and i want to hurl myself off of a balcony thanks.

fic - from the tide by fruti2flutie is a popular fanfic but it deserves the hype. i was blown away by its character dynamics and style of writing that i wrote an original story inspired from its worldbuilding/power system for my fiction workshop class. the river can't go back by unsungyellowraincoat is poetic heaven.

art - last one to propose loses by cubedmango + rooftop wedding by @thatgothsamurai = my our skyy actually.

animatic - Ur SOUL Ur BodY by RENii•EXE has so many shots that made me question my entire existence, namely pran pressing pat's hand into the bedsheets (0:41). it's so good. 10/10.

animation - I am not your ocean anymore by @architectxengineer is incredible. watching this broke my heart in the best possible way. the visual of how pran and pat stumble into their room in episode 11 is such a cute scene to fill the gap of.

edit - mae's safety net is a personal favorite because it was first uploaded on my birthday, i could never get tired of it as i kept watching it for months on end, and then there was that time it was archived on mae's instagram but she was kind enough to unarchive it for me (alongside her other incredible bbs edits!) huhu ily. and then another objectively well-made one is 7 things by mic that is deservedly popular on twitter, not to mention the very intentional use of colors from all of pran's markers/color pencils! HOW. COOL. IS. THAT.

visual edit - among all my photo edits, my untranslatable words one almost made it here but i gotta hand it to my bad idea storyboard. if i could only draw, i would have animated the shit out of this tbh.

video edit - all the stars kind of flopped in reception which was a bummer considering no one knows i spent an embarrassingly long time working on it (...9 hours) but now you do haha.

fanfic - the rest are drabbles anyway so i don't even think this can count as a favorite if it's only one lmao but it's my Teen Wolf AU anamnesis (28k, 4 chapters, fin). really enjoyed the season 6 binge for educational purposes :DD and writing pranink, pranpa, patink, and the jindapat siblings was one of the best parts. my true ot4.

other - i wrote something about patpran that was not prose. it's post velum (which is latin for behind the curtain, the name of the novel) and it's poetry about each episode of bad buddy + our skyy. oh and my patpran as percabeth series that i mostly only did for like,, two people.

a song that makes you think of bbs (the ones in the show don’t count lol)

a taylor swift song feels like cheating because every ship can be associated to a taylor swift song but still. daylight is perfect. i once believed love would be burning red? pre-relationship patpran. the rivalry is so fiery that they thought they wouldn't have the space to be soft. but it's golden. established relationship patpran. they are the healthiest teenaged boyfriends ever. their relationship endures for years and glows.

i don't really agree with thinking bad buddy is the perfect show and that it had the perfect ending. i still understand the direction and the decision to go with those and other more questionable choices, but i like recognizing the show's flaws. tons and tons of it. from the technicalities of production to the actual writing. especially knowing the show's behind the scenes and what happened from the mock trailer's official announcement and the gp's initial (horrible) reception, to this show finally airing and its first four episodes being in the trenches when it comes to ratings (haha the bbs nugu era), to the ending of episode 5 breaking the internet to the point of being recognized in the following gmmtv 2022 presscon, then to the steep rise to the peak.

...especially knowing those made me love the show more inside out. tldr; i'm a "bad buddy is a very flawed show and i love it" type of person.

Ok. Final HSMTMTS season review by a random nerdy girl with weird thoughts and ideas

Non-spoilers:

They really did not give a single fuck anymore

No like so many bleeped swear words ??

SEXUAL INNUENDOS TOO? HELP SO MANY OF THEM.

I feel like they did want to do more with this show and I am guessing a lot of their ”we give no more fucks” attitude this season has something to do with that

They made some odd choices with some characters lol

The amount of times I thought ”this reminds me of glee”, ”it’s giving glee vibes” people who wanna watch something after this show watch Glee it’s on D+ now too because Disney bought Fox

In the end I am happy and satisfied with the season and I am glad to see it all at once rather than wait for eps. Waiting for eps is fun too but I like variety

Like a big part of the Seb stuff… his whole dad thing was just very rushed and kinda like ”btw we are adding this random thing” and ??

And the CHEATING. Biggest plot twist of the show. I WAS NOT PREPARED. I WAS NOT PREPARED.

Big Red and Ashlyn’s breakup was actually very nice though. No drama… I also found it hilarious that she was more mad for Carlos’ sake than her own didjdkdkgidoslf

B: What was the first fandom you read fic in? Which was the first you wrote fic for?

It was either Dragon Ball Z or Tenchi Muyo, after stumbling my way there from some anime webring. I was staunchly in anime fandoms, mostly DBZ for years and then, by chance, saw a fic (Might Be Prince's Guitar) that launched me into Bandom. Bandom is where I wrote my first (objectively terrible) fanfic, and then a little in Glee and then pretty prodigiously in Phandom.

I'm still trying to find out if the amount of output I was able to achieve in phandom was just the particular set of circumstances that year (deeply isolated, writing a lot bc grad school, avoiding the internet bc elections, small fandom) or if its a particular itch that'll come back whenever I find a new home fandom.

H: How would you describe your writing style?

Read enough poetry and fanfic to turn a good phrase, and it shows. Idk man, I have lots of weird hang ups about my writing and what it could be if I had the focus to read and practice writing more. I think I'm a good writer on the sentence level and the character level and really struggle at the plot level, so largely what I want to write (epic, 100k+ longfic) is a slog and what I can write really well (slice-of-life-y character study) often feels dissatisfying. Part me is like whatever, you just aren't inclined to write doorstoppers. And part of me is like ok but...what if you practiced??? Back when I had a regular writing group, that was really good motivation to just kind've...keep going and the plot sort've followed the writing? But even then actually plotting out something really long was hard sometimes.

X: How would you categorize your fanfic reading? Are you a voracious reader? Do you carefully pick and choose? Something in between?

Honestly, before I started tracking my fic I didn't think I read all that much fic. I was wrong lol. I think what I really do is take long, long breaks between reading fic and then when I come back, I sort by word count and gobble up a few 50 - 100k+ fics and then go back on a break. I really want fics that I can sink into, where the writers done something and some world building etc and that's a lot harder to achieve (but not impossible!) in shorter stories.

every line rhea gets is just fucking. so good. cherami leigh is perfectly cast in the english dub. her lines are dripping with menace when they need to be, unsettling when they need to be, and vulnerable exactly when they need to be. every fucking line she gets in cf is just so, so good and the voice acting brings it all to life perfectly.

rhea's lines when byleth chooses to protect edelgard in the holy tomb are my favorite. especially the sheer contempt you can hear in "you are just another failure"

chills every time. the truth comes out there. exactly how she sees byleth and exactly how she sees humanity as a whole

one of the fascinating things about rhea is that nobody is on an equal footing to her. not seteth or flayn, her fellow nabateans, whom she never answers to for any of the decisions she makes, despite seteth being nominally her advisor. not catherine or jeralt, who were brought under her wing in exchange for their servitude as knights, one of whom was successfully groomed by her and one of whom wasn't and got out while he still had a chance.

honestly cyril is the only human character in the game that rhea doesn't appear to have a purely transactional relationship with, and... he's a child. a child who cleans her room and does chores for her. okay that's pretty transactional now that i think about it.

so, given that rhea doesn't have anyone she can be bros with, my brotp for rhea is...

rhea/catherine. you get the more wholesome ending of a deposed rhea retreating from the world and catherine looking after her, which is quite bittersweet. but you can also be delightfully fucked up with it. imagine if cf ended with the black eagle strike force being routed in fhirdiad and fresh off a decisive church victory over the empire catherine had to live with the thousands of civilians she'd murdered on rhea's orders, with nowhere to go but deeper into rhea's arms. hhhhhhhhhh

i don't think rhea is capable of having a healthy romantic or sexual relationship with any other playable character in the game (she might have had one with wilhelm, but that was 1000 years ago), but a relationship doesn't have to be healthy to be incredibly fascinating and compelling. that is why my rhea otp is rhea and cf!dimitri. the feedback loop of bloodthirsty revenge they would enforce for each other would be fun to watch... from several miles away.

nOTP

rhea/byleth. like... rhea outright doesn't see byleth as a person (in stark contrast to the other humans in her life, who she at least understands are people and not merely vessels) until the end of ss/vw and tried to erase their entire identity without their foreknowledge or consent. that's not something i can ship. i can fantasize about how fucked up it is i guess but as a ship? nah

also rhea/edelgard is one of those ships which i like mainly for horny reasons but under certain circumstances it goes instantly to squick. and it's a fine line but a line nonetheless.

random headcanon

this isn't so much of a headcanon as it is an interpretation of sothis' characterization through her behavior in 3 hopes, but i believe that sothis felt no affection for the nabateans she created; they were just tools to her, and she cared about them as much as a paperclip maximizer cares about the paperclips it makes. and that makes it extra tragic for rhea, who wastes her entire life after slaying nemesis trying to recapture a maternal love that only really existed in her own head.

gives me real nier automata vibes. isn't that hilarious? doesn't it make you laugh?

rhea is the villain everyone accuses edelgard of being. she's a sympathetic and fascinating character, but at the end of the day she's an alien colonizer who spent 1000 years fucking up an entire continent. and she didn't have to be any of those things. you know it. i know it. she knows it

Do Or Do Not, There is No Fighting Disney

((For context, I wrote this for class and decided to share it here.)

Ron DeSantis, take your L and do it well.

The LGBTQ+ community has been parked pretty with our bucket of caramel popcorn and Mickey Mouse pretzels. Because one does not simply go against Disney lawyers and expect to win. It is as simple as do not or do not. There is no try. And by the Magic Kingdom, did DeSantis try?

Pardon my glee, but this is up there with Trump being indicted and Stacy Plasket throwing back papers on national television. (Count your blessings, Elon. You were supposed to be on my chopping block this week.) Now I can understand if I’ve lost you like DeSantis did. But give me a second to give you all the details of the royal smackdown presented by the House of Mouse.

Now, as some of you may know, Florida has become something a…. What’s the word? Joke. And a terrible one at that. With a “man” like DeSantis in charge, the state has become the subject of more memes and episodes of The Daily Show than any other. The increasing bans on anything that will hurt a Karen’s feelings or call out a Ken on his bullshit are slowly lowering the state’s IQ. No one wants little Timmy to feel bad about history or come home asking his parents the hard questions, so it's easier to make sure he won't ask them in the first place. Because guilty consciences usually fight the hardest. And heaven forbid the people in charge of serving the people follow the proclamations of the good book that they so claim to follow and wield as a weapon of self-righteousness. For why would they love their neighbor who has no bearing or effect on their personal lives when they could just as easily let their blind hate lead them by the nose? Because heaven forbid that a rainbow, a symbol of peace, love, and acceptance be used for just that. Let’s simply ban it altogether.

Let’s make sure no one can say, Gay!

Heh. No. While I normally don't support multi-billion dollar corporations, I will gladly give Disney my vote when they inevitably run for President. Because Disney most definitely said, Gay. Especially with the main character of their hit show, The Owl House, being openly bisexual with a lesbian girlfriend. Let’s not forget the married gay couple and the non-binary representation in the show. The company simply told Florida that they will stay in their self-governed lane and say, Gay.

DeSantis took offense to this and decided to make Disney his new campaign promise. Because nothing screams competency and a desire to serve your eg- I mean the people like squaring up with the House of Mouse. Especially when you're pulling books like Maus off the shelves because you don't want to acknowledge your own hypocrisy. Now, I would like to point out that this was the moment when most of TikTok knew that he fucked up. Because everyone and their blind cat know that Disney lawyers are paid too much to lose. Ronny Boy thought he had one when he was able to take away Disney’s self-governing status and turned Reedy Creek over to his specially selected board (Swisher). The plan was to basically gain all the money and royalties they felt entitled to and make bank off of Disney. That is not what happened.

Instead, Disney pulled out the biggest UNO reverse and slammed several draw four cards with an additional wild draw four card.

The board, and by extension Florida, has inherited Disney’s billion-dollar debt. Not only that, but the board has zero control over any of the entertainment mogul's intellectual property and has no right to make any changes to its parks until “21 years after the death of the last survivor of the descendants of King Charles III, King of England living as of the date of this Declaration.” (Cho). This means until the last of the British monarchy dies out, Florida cannot touch any of the characters of influence that DeSantis oh so desperately tried to put his fingers on without the most cutthroat lawyers known to mankind coming for his neck. Disney tied its fate to actual royalty in a power move that will be taught in law schools for decades to come.

In the end, DeSantis fucked around and found out. And Disney said, “You’re welcome”.

“How do I look?” Scott asked very dramatically as he pursed his lips, showing all of his sides like a model in his new Halloween costume. Of course it was none other than Shyguy. Scott and the gang had been discussing it for weeks, and had finally agreed that Super Mario was the perfect theme for this year.

Yelena let out a laugh that could not have been shushed. She nearly doubled over at Scott’s fantastic modeling. “Oh my gosh! You look amazing!”

“You don’t look so bad yourself… Rosalina.” It was true, that adorable little babe was Yelena’s favorite Mario Bros character, but since she was no longer the size of an infant, she opted for the normal size.

“Why thank you!” she replied with glee as she moved her makeshift bangs from eyes for the moment so she could see more clearly. She turned around at the sound of heels hitting the wood. It was Hope van Dyne, dressed to perfection as Princess Toadstool.

“Wow. Now I’m regretting the choice of dressing up as Shyguy.” Of course Scott was teasing, but they would have been adorable as Peach and Mario.

Hope moved over and placed a small kiss on the end of his nose. “You are an adorable little Shyguy.” They both stood there drooling over each other before Yelena finally broke the silence. “Anyone know where Cassie is?”

“I’m here!” she exclaimed as she entered the room, dressed in the unmistakable orange and yellow dress that belonged to Princess Daisy.

“Oh peanut, you look so grown up,” Scott said trying to not cry… or at least pretending to tease Cassie.

“Dad…” Cassie just rolled her eyes, though the smile on her face proved that she didn’t really mean it.

“All right! Grab the pillow cases and let’s go! We don’t want to get the left over candy do we?” Scott was already pushing them to the door before they could argue.

“Scott!!! You really are still a kid,” Yelena said between her giggles as they rushed out the door, undoubtedly making wonderful Halloween memories together.
