s5 ep8 Shot in the dark
woohooo
Off topic but while looking for fan art of Catra from the portal (ugh I need to try different tags) I instead saw a bunch of anti-Catra and anti-Catradora and anti-spop blogs and jfc people need to get a life and touch some grass and if I'm saying that--
(I mean, I did leave the house today with Saer and their mom, we went to Powell's books where I spent too much money but I got a couple of wlw manga and a Judith Butler book among a few other things, and also we went to a vintage clothing store that seemed to have NO END but I bought one thing there, a lavender satin bathrobe, the short kind; the only thing wrong with it was that it's a bit faded in some places and it's a little small on me but it's a bathrobe, and it was like $26 AND 100% SILK)
Tumblr media
a question many astronauts have surely asked as well!
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
these two squabbling but not actually fighting always sounds like flirting, it doesn't help that a split second after that screenshot, Catra actually smiles for a second
Tumblr media
Look. I love them.
Bow: "Adora, Catra's right" Everyone's eyes: go wide Bow: "...that felt weird to say"
Tumblr media
the startled noise they all make when he starts talking lolol
Tumblr media
but Catra has some flashes (from when she was in the hive mind) and says Krytis is a planet, nice. There's something there Horde Prime doesn't want them to know--so they head for Krytis, roll intro theme
Tumblr media
:O
Tumblr media
oh man they really did start changing this up every episode. Look at poor Perfuma's face.
Anyway on Krytis they find an old Horde ship and everyone else is trying to figure out what happened but poor Catra is remembering what it was like to be chipped :(
there's a cute moment when she notices her tail is all fluffy from fear and smooths it out before joining the others
Tumblr media
there's a "crack" video where Entrapta's little walk here is dubbed with a clip from an ancient Spiderman show's theme song
Tumblr media
ahaha
Tumblr media
LOOK AT HER the way Bow says this is so great
Tumblr media
POOR CATRA
Adora laughs longer than anyone else after Catra gets the helmet off and Catra blushes and smiles and everyone stands around not wanting the ruin the moment--and then Entrapta finds something and squeals and startles the shit out of everyone and it's SO GREAT
Tumblr media
Catra: "So, wait, the plan is to barge ahead into the structurally unsound building to find some mystery person that we know nothing about, in hopes that they somehow know how to defeat Horde Prime?"
Tumblr media
Bow: "You know, we were just gonna recklessly blast our way through that blockade until you stopped us. So this whole thing is basically your idea."
Tumblr media
Catra's starting to realize what DORKS they all are and that good-natured teasing is just part of the deal
Tumblr media
the GLEE with which they are including her
Tumblr media
I didn't mean to get a screenshot that makes it look like Adora is staring at Catra's butt, but(t) I'm not mad about it
Meanwhile, on Etheria:
Tumblr media
yikes
Tumblr media
"and yet we're still stuck with you?"
HAH
Back on Krytis Wrong Hordak is having an existential crisis as he realizes Horde Prime is not perfect
Tumblr media
Catra fuckin' slices a door into the wall
Tumblr media
Bow: dunno if that's safe Glimmer: yeah I'm not sure about this either Adora: MY GIRLFRIEND IS STRONK and has v sharp claws isn't she perfect
seriously tho Adora is BLUSHING
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Catra's face
Glimmer's too, actually
oh god it's the bit where Catra keeps sneezing at the spore things in the air and Bow is just like 🥺
Adora's reaction to this conversation is also priceless
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Anyway a second later, Catra leans on the wall and sinks into it, she shrieks and Adora yells "CATRA!!" and when they pull her out the wall starts sending out HUGE MURDER SPIKES
Back on Etheria:
Castaspella: "You said you had a plan. The only reason I'm following you is because if anyone would know about mind control, it's you." Shadow Weaver: "Mind control? Is that what they told you? No. My gifts were always far subtler."
I dunno, I think torturing kids is hardly "subtle." But abuse is often hard to spot while it's happening to you.
Tumblr media
y'know, like this shit
Okay in fairness she says she was less powerful as well and now he's chipped he's under control by the enemy and they're not strong enough to fight him
On Krytis, the Squad realizes they've gotten confused/turned around in the abandoned ship--"Isn't this where we started?!" There's a growling noise. The hallway somehow gets longer while they're walking in it. Creepy as fuck.
Oh and also it turns out Horde Prime and the First Ones fought over Krytis ages ago and Prime won but then abandoned the place anyway.
Entrapta: also there's someone right behind you
Tumblr media
yay i know who this is lol
Tumblr media
ALSO Catra insisting on protecting everyone is v cute
Tumblr media
also it took me three times to get this screenshot ahahaha
and when she tackles it they both disappear
Tumblr media
the audible PANIC
OH HEY i hit the image limit okay hold on

Horde Prime's body language and mannerisms part 3/3
"Expressing facial emotion is a privilege reserved only for Prime"
Despite Prime trying to present himself as this perfect holy being who is above feelings and emotions his face is very expressive. And he's just so fun to look at! Whether he's drawn extremely goofy, unbearably cute or legit creepy
Part 1 // Part 2
1 Prolonged eye contact 👁️👁️
Prime's second favorite activity after touching people without their consent is staring intensely at them!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He can't actually "see all", but he's still trying to grasp as much as he possibly can
Prime likes to talk, but he can also be an attentive listener when he needs to. He allows his opponents speak their mind and gives them time to think and articulate themselves. All that so he can quietly observe and "read" them and find out what they actually think before they can even say a word. It's most notable with Catra. He'd often give her that "I know what you are" look X)
Tumblr media
In some instances his stare is used to pressure people into agreeing with him and doing as he says. Or to simply scare them
Tumblr media
Again, I've remebered HP being much more talkative than he actually is. There are many moment in the show where Prime is just... watching and patiently waiting for something. Obesrving others just to find something that can help him channel the conversation to the right direction. Like when he waited for Glimmer to try any dish on the table so he could comment on it. Or when he watched her and waited for a needed reaction when he showed her what he's been doing to Etheria
Tumblr media
And he also often reacts without any sound or word. His true emotions are simply written on his face. They're seen in his eyes
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But when HP really wants to hide them, only then does he open his mouth
2.1. The 👁️w👁️
I've talked about this before, but it was a long time ago, plus i wrote it in a reblog to another post, so now I'm bringing this back in my own post
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Throughout the show Prime quite often does this one thing where he silently stares at his opponent while a knowing smile slowly spreads across his face. His eyes don't move and at no point does Prime break this intense eye contact. It looks like his whole expression changes, but the eyes stay the same. He may be smiling now, but there's still this hidden agression and venom behind those cold eyes. This is still a death stare
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Most of the time Prime does this when he finds his opponents' attemts to intimidate and threaten him amusing or when he simply tries to hide his displeasure when something goes mildly wrong
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But sometimes his smile is sort of a mixed signal and it's easy to read this expression wrong. One can misinterpret it as a sign that the danger has passed and Prime is not going to do them any harm after all. But in reality this smile only means that Prime has finally decided how he's going to kill them
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Just like face touching, this is one of Prime's signature moves when he's trying to assert dominance, demostrate his confidense and assure that he's still in control of the situation. Or like in s4 finale scene, to warn his future victim of upcoming danger
3. "No war, no pain"
This moment has always stood out to me and all because of this face. It's such a strange almost out-of-character expression, it's both silly and a little unsettling
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here Prime is trying to make Glimmer help him find She-Ra to active the Heart - so it should be obvious that it's all bullshit and he's ready to say anything to justify his plans and made his intentions seem noble and "good actually"
He speaks in his usual voice too. But damn this manic look in his eyes haunst me to this day
Seems like he's not even looking directly at Glimmer. It's like he dissociates for a second
In this brief moment it feels like Prime is actually done with the current world and cant wait for all this "pain" to be over. What if all this time Prime was just planning to go out in style but also take everyone with him (cause how dare the world exist without him right)? This speculation contradicts his whole "Prime stays eternal" shtick, but going all this way and destroying the universe just so he can have a flashy death sounds like a Horde Prime thing to do (just remember the finale)
Or maybe he really wants to start anew and erase all the evidence of the shit he's done to the universe over the years. Or there's actually nothing behind those eyes i dunno *pokes prime with a stick* be more nuanced damnit!
4. Ears!
Sadly, we don't see spacebats move their ears much, but I think I can still work with what we got
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Despite limitations in animation Prime's ears do move from time to time. And in his case they don't exactly indicate what he feels at the moment, but rather show HP's overall emotional state. His ears droop a lot during the two final episodes, and no wonder - since at the time Prime was already losing it and growing more desperate. Plus he was literally connected to the Heart of Etheria, must be overwhelming as all hell
Tumblr media Tumblr media
His ears also change position in the middle of HP's passionate speeches, probably indicating that he's getting a little bit carried away - and this idea is so cute to think about :з
5. The vessel room scene
So many interesting expressions here! Probably because this is like, the only scene where Prime is all by himself (Hordak is mainly a background noise to him really). He's not as dramatic as when he's sitting on his throne surrouned by his clones or when he's tormenting his "guests" or confronting his enemies. There's no audience to act so dramatic and pretentious for
Tumblr media
What i've noticed is how expressionless he is around his clones when no one else is watching. No smiling, no creepy touching. He's more distant and not as intrusive when its not for a show
This scene also gives a small glimpse at what day to day life of the horde clones probably looks like, as well as at their regular dynamic with Prime. And their relationship here is more mundane and cold than it is intense and horrifying. HP sees his brothers as any other tool, and just like with tools he doesnt even think about them until he needs them for something
Maybe thats what also makes Prime's touch such a powerful weapon - he doesnt normally do that. Which makes the clones both dread and crave his attention and his touch so much
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'm analysing this whole scene simply because we never see Prime like that anywhere else in the show. I mean look! I've never seen him being hesitant before and after this moment. He is only like that around his old vessel. Which again, brings up the question of his past and whether or not there is something Prime doesnt want to come back to. This body stores memories about the First Ones, his enemies, whom he himself called tyrants. Who knows what was happening back then and how it all might have affected Prime
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Another small moment I like. Its so calm and quiet and lowkey almost intimate? Again, very unsual for Prime. And then there's this almost forced bitter tiny smile. It can mean two things - Prime has trouble connecting to the vessel (boo boring) or there are some memories which Prime finds pleasant. But again - they're are only memories
6. These eyes are always watching
Prime barely if ever closes his extra eyes. Well, mainly due to them not being animated - they rarely move, and never blink. Most of the time those eyes are stuck on his face like a decoration. BUT I think this only helps to reinforce the idea of Prime being this all seeing entity
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
No one can sneak up to him, even if his main eyes are closed... well, unless u try to come up from the left :p
7. Blink-blink
I said Prime never blinks with his extra eyes. I was wrong! He does just that in... literally only one episode. And not just blinks - some really weird shit is going on with his extra eyes during Hordak's purification scene. It looks like a nervous tic of some sorts. Nothing like that ever happens again - not in this very episode, not in any others. Why are they suddenly so animated??
Does whatever this is in the pool water hurt his eyes or is Prime just showing his sadistic excitement over his little brother being tortured?
Also, his eyes are only doing that when Prime talks about suffering and "being freed of pain" which is... an interesting reaction (especially if you remember omy previous speculations)
Well, that's all what I could find. Hope you found my HP ramblings interesting :)

Alliances of the Heart
A She-Ra: Princess of Power 2018 fanfiction
For centuries, the All Princess Ball has been a time for the nobility of Etheria to let loose. Flaunting their power, prestige, and fashion for all to see. The ball had always been politically neutral, but, as tension from the war rises, not everyone is so keen to forget what happens beyond the walls of Castle Chill.
Lord Hordak, along with Princess Scorpia and Force Captian Catra, have come to the party to make alliances and find out everything there is to know about their enemies. Careful to not arouse the suspicion of the Princess Alliance.
Princess Entrapta, being the scientist she is, decides to come to the party to decode the secrets of body language, despite getting the same data from every other party she has ever attended.
When the two rulers cross paths, their plans flip on their heads as the two grow closer. Now it is up to Catra and Scorpia to push the two together as Adora and Glimmer stick their noses where they do not belong.
________________
Finally, an update on this fic. I'm sorry I haven't updated this in a while. Hopefully, there will be more frequent updates in the future. The jury is still out on Medical Practices though.
________________
Chapter 6: Failure to Convince
Entrapta was almost ready to leave for the third night of festivities, excited to see her new friends again. While putting on her rubber boots, she heard a firm knock on the door.
“Princess Entrapta, may we speak with you?”
Entrapta opened her bedroom door. Adora and Glimmer stood there, friendly smiles coating their faces.
“May we come in?” Glimmer asked.
“Sure.” Entrapta opened the door fully, letting in the two girls.
Adora and Glimmer sat on a small couch, and Entrapta perched on a bench at the foot of her bed.
“Is there something you guys need?” Entrapta asked politely. “ Do you need me to fix something for you?”
“No, thank you, Princess Entrapta. We came to discuss your… relationship with the Horde.” Glimmer explained, trying to sound as assured as her mother.
Entrapta’s shoulders dropped, bored of explaining the same thing over again.
“Is there something unclear about our arrangement?” Entrapta asked, trying her best not to sound rude.
“We just wanted to make sure what rumors are true.” Glimmer explained.
“What would you like to know?”
“Why did you join the Horde and not the Alliance?” Adora asked bluntly, gaining a side eye from Glimmer.
“They have more technological advancements and a political structure more closely aligned with Dryl,” Entrapta replied, equally as blunt.
“What about all the destruction the Horde has caused? Like all the villages they have destroyed.” Adora questioned.
“What has any of the other kingdoms done to protect those villages? The Alliance has no major armies, just an alliance of super-powered princesses. Those villages are left to fend for themselves most of the time, even before the war. Many citizens that immigrated to the Scorponi kingdom and Dryl are there to seek better lives.” She explained, which was the same thing she told everyone.
“We leave the villages alone so they can be self-sufficient.” Glimmer defended.
“Yes, but many of the nobles enjoy the luxuries of plumbing and other technological advancements while these villages still live as those advances have yet to be made. In Dryl and Scorponi, every home has plumbing, heating and air, and steady jobs.”
“Princess Entrapta, even if what you say is true, the Horde has destroyed so much in their wake,” Adora explained, rising from her seat. “The measures they use are so drastic. Destroying villages. Poisoning the Heart-Blossom. How far is the Horde willing to go?”
“That is a question you will have to ask Lord Hordak. I am on the side of science, and the horde will give me more opportunities than the Alliance can give me. And that is all I have to say.”
“But-”
“That is all I have to say,” Entrapta assured. “Will you please leave me alone now?” She asked bluntly.
“Yeah, will you leave her alone now?” Catra mocked. She and Scorpia stood at the door, Catra leaning against the doorframe.
“Fine then,” Glimmer stood, dusting herself off. “I hope it works out with you.” The two pushed past the two force captains at the door and disappeared down the hallway.
“Are you okay?” Scorpia asked, worried for her new friend.
“I’m fine,” Entrapta replied. “I don’t care about their opinions, so why should I worry?”
“That’s the spirit.” Catra grabbed Entrapta by the arm and led her down the hall quickly followed by Scorpia. “Come on, we got a party to go to.”
_________________________________
“Well, that was a bust.” Adora lamented, leaning on a wall.
“It’s fine. Entrapta made her decision, and we have to respect it.” Glimmer assured, smoothing out her dress.
“Now what?”
“What do you mean?”
“What’s the plan now? The horde still might be planning something, especially Catra.” Glimmer rolled her eyes, tired of hearing about Catra.
“Look,” Glimmer grabbed Adora by her biceps. “This party happens only once a decade. Let’s just enjoy.”
“I know, Glimmer, but-”
“No buts. I’m done wasting my time running after some hermit princess who doesn’t even want to be a part of the Alliance. If she wants to be with the Horde, so be it. There is nothing we can do about it, so why bother.”
“So you want the horde to win?”
“Of course not! I just-” She sighed. “I just don’t want to waste the time we have here. Besides, I thought your whole mission was to get Princess Frosta on our side?”
Adora gave a hard sigh.
“You’re right.”
“Good because I didn’t spend three days picking out these outfits for nothing.” The two girls laughed as they made their way down the hall to the ballroom.
_________________________________
Hordak walked into the ballroom, his black cape fluttering behind him. The top layers of his navy hair were woven into various medium and small braids that led into a ponytail. The rest of the unbraided hair was left to fall on his shoulders. Two thin, loose braids framed the sides of his face.
He examined the growing crowd. He saw the star sisters conversing with Princess Frosta at the foot of the platform that the throne sat upon. Princess Perfuma danced with Princess Netossa as Princess Spinnerella laughed as she watched. Adora talked with Princess Mermista, even though Adora spent most of her time watching Catra. Then he saw Princess Entrapta and Scorpia congregating around a snack table, happily chatting with each other. Princess Entrapta walked on her hair and picked through the tiny confections with glee, and Scorpia was dunking anything she could find into the chocolate fountain.
The warlord’s face formed a small smile.
He wove his way through the glittery nobility, occasionally bumping into one, earning him a glare. After much delay, he made his way over to the princess.
He cleared his throat, and Entrapta turned around.
“Oh, hello, Lord Hordak!” She greeted, slightly louder than needed.
“I got to go! You two have fun!” Scorpia blurted out, a broad smile across her face.
“Bye, Scorpia!” Entrapta shouted as Scorpia hastily walked away.
“How is your evening thus far?” Hordak inquired, watching Scorpia run to Catra out of the corner of his eye.
“Eh, it’s okay.” Entrapta’s hair formed a chair the princess sat on.
“Did something happen?”
“Just Adora and Princess Glimmer pestering me about my decision to side with the Horde.” Entrapta popped a small cupcake in her mouth.
“I am sorry that happened.”
“Nah, it’s fine. I just don’t get why they are so mad about it. They’ve wanted me to pick a side for so long, but they get mad when I finally make one. I get it wasn’t the decision they wanted me to make, but they don’t have to be so petty about it.” Entrapta slumped her shoulders down and rested her head on her hand.
“I have also had some backlash over your decision; however, I have only overheard it. When most people fear you, many of their opinions go unsaid.” The warlord let out a small chuckle but stopped when he saw Entrapta did not find it humorous.
“Does it ever bother you when people are scared of you?” Entrapta asked, cocking her head to the side.
“Hm.” His brow bone furrowed. “It depends on the person. I am perfectly fine with my enemies fearing me. As well as some subordinates.” He paused. “Are you scared of me?” He asked, stepping closer.
“Not at all. You’re my friend after all.”
“Good.” Hordak sighed, hating that he brought this upon her. The whole time the two have been talking Hordak could hear the whispers around them. All the terrible, untrue, and even vulgar things the nobles gossiped about. He hated it so much. Mostly for Entrapta. Hordak was used to the whispers and snide comments, but he would never wish it on this intelligent princess. He felt he should make it up to her somehow, and get her away from the petty partygoers.
He glanced around the ballroom and saw a large doorway leading to a lush garden.
“How much more research do you need to conduct?”
“I’m always doing research.” She replied, half with delight and half with curiosity.
“I meant researching this party.” He clarified.
“Well, I have been getting the same research from other parties. And these parties can get boring.” Her hair chair unraveled, and she rose to his eye level. “Did you have something in mind?”
“I thought since we are tired of all the backlash we have been getting, you and I could avoid it all.” He explained, gesturing to the extensive gardens outside of the ballroom.
“That sounds fun. Oh, maybe you could tell me more about the grid system in the Fright Zone!”
Hordak offered an arm to the princess, which she gladly accepted.
“Yes, but I’m afraid it needs an update. I have not revisited it in years.” The two began to weave through the crowd. This granted some odd looks from the other guests, which were ignored by the two as they made their way to the gardens of Castel Chill.
“Maybe we can update it when I come over.” Entrapta enthusiastically suggested.
“Perhaps.” He answered with a light chuckle.
As the two walked across the ballroom floor, Catra and Scorpia watched closely. They stood by a tall collom that gave them the perfect place to stay out of the warlord’s peripheral vision.
“I honestly can’t believe it was this easy,” Scorpia commented with a breathy laugh.
“I know, right,” Catra replied. “I mean, I know the guy is lonely, but still.”
“Catra, that’s mean.”
“It’s true, though,” Catra affirmed as Entrapta and Hordak left the ballroom.
Scorpia rolled her eyes.
“I just hope this all works out.” Scorpia cautioned.
“Yeah,” Catra looked over her shoulder, making eye contact with Adora. “I hope so too.”

You Wouldn’t Understand
An old She-Ra fanfic, circa 2020.   In honor of Sweary She-Ra hitting a point where, unlike in canon, Entrapta is making it clear that she's out to save Hordak as well as Glimmer, I thought of this old short fic I did for Entrapdak Month about Entrapta having a secret ambition.   Rated G.   Characters: Entrapta, Adora.  Hordak is mentioned.  Takes place during Season 5, some random in-between moment.  Summary:   Adora had just rescued Entrapta from a squadron of clones. She gives the scientist a good scolding about running into danger and notices the purple crystal in her hand. Can be found on Ao3, or just read here, under the cut.
You Wouldn’t Understand Adora and Entrapta sat on a log in the latest Bright Moon base-encampment.  Even from several feet apart, there was tension between them.  They were both bruised and scuffed.  Entrapta’s scalp hurt, but she said nothing about it.  Her mask was firmly down and she was pawing a purple crystal in one hand. “Do you want to tell me why you ran right into that squadron of clones?” Entrapta gripped what was in her hand and turned away. “You could have been killed.” “You wouldn’t understand.” “They weren’t Hordak.  You have to stop looking for him.  If he’s one of them now…he’s not himself anymore.  Or maybe he is, I don’t know!  He’s an invader! This war, this hiding, all the fear!  It’s what he’s brought upon the world!” “Different.” “Entrapta, this was his plan all along!  You know it!  You said it yourself that he told you that his plans for the portal were to summon the rest of his army to conquer Etheria!” “He was different.  Not like the others.” “Entrapta, listen to yourself!” Entrapta slowly, reluctantly pulled her mask up, showing her tear-stained face.  She was shaking, but all of her data on human communication indicated that showing facial expression was vital to making a point.  She wanted to continue hiding, but Adora needed to know. “I’ve been observing the clones.  They work and talk in unison.  They have a similar-sounding voice, but they don’t talk like him.  They move differently.  It’s like… how Emily is different from standard drones.  If you know she’s different, why can’t you accept that he’s different!”  her fists were balled up now.  “I need to find Hordak!  All I want to do is talk to him!  I know he remembers me, deep down inside!” “Entrapta…” “Do you take me for a child, Adora?” Adora was taken aback by the question, “N-no?” “You’re treating me like one.  I bet you didn’t know that I knew.  The other Princesses don’t really like me much, do they?  Scorpia does, but everyone else… I’m really working hard on being a good friend, like Bow said, but none of you are like Hordak.” “Of course we aren’t like Hordak!  We aren’t evil conquerors hell-bent on subjugating the world!” “That’s what you really think, isn’t it?”   “Well, look around!  We’re stuck in a magical safe-zone!” “We were thinking of… holding off opening the portal…indefinitely.” “What?” “I didn’t want him to have to go and I don’t think he really wanted to go.  Catra showed up with you and your sword and we kind of felt like… we had to?  Hordak likes appearing strong.  He’s actually very sick.  He broke his old armor protecting me from an explosion and I made the new set… because, well, without it, his body is falling apart.  He suffers a defect and that’s why Horde Prime cast him out.  He was sucked into a portal to this planet!  He wanted to prove himself to Horde Prime because he doesn’t know anything else, but… we were thinking of… not.  You do know that I was going to warn him that the portal was unstable when Catra knocked me out.  Scorpia told you all of that.  We could have been happy, just working together.  We could have just had the Fright Zone and the Horde, or maybe even something else…but now…” “Entrapta, I’m not sure you’re making sense.  He was just using you.” Entrapta slammed her mask back down, but looked Adora dead in the eye from behind the lenses.  “What, like the Princess Alliance uses me?  Nobody ever wants me around for anything but what I can fix and make – but Hordak, he was different.  He’s brilliant, Adora!  And we really liked…being friends.  He listened to me.” “Only because you were improving his weapons!” “So?  That’s all the Alliance ever wanted me for!  And, no, Adora.  He listened to me about everything!  He showed me the stars and taught me about space!  I talked with him on a level that I can’t talk with anyone else, not even Bow!  He’s not…what you think he is, Adora.  Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to find him, okay?” She got up to leave and Adora stood in front of her, hands on her hips.  “We aren’t going to let you go out there and get yourself killed messing with clones!” Entrapta turned her head.  “If I show him it, he’ll remember.  It’s the chip that powered his armor.” Entrapta presented the purple crystal that was in her hand. Adora gasped.  “You know what it says, right?” “Well, yeah.  I primarily chose it for the armor-build because it had just the right coding for what I needed it to do, but… what it says is a bonus.” “Loved.”  Entrapta, don’t tell me that you… “He couldn’t’ read it, but… I was going to teach him to read First Ones just like he taught me about the stars.” “Entrapta… I don’t know if we can save him.  I don’t even know if he’s worth saving…with the mess he’s made of Etheria.”  Adora was looking at her very seriously.  “If we meet him again, I may have to… you know.” “I know.  But I’m gonna try to save him and you can’t stop me.” “I…I understand.” “I don’t think you do, but thanks, anyway.”

I'm probably like super annoying by requesting again and feel free to ignore this if you don't want to but I thought of another adorable little thing. (Again, Ellis x Reader and pronouns are She/Her) So, what if reader and Ellis were dating before the apocalypse happened, and got separated when his "99% zombie proof" truck gets absolutely torn apart, but then they find each other at a military base after they're picked up from New Orleans after The Parish? Again, feel free to ignore if you dont want to, but if you do, thank you sm!!
You're not annoying at all! Plus this gives me more writing practice.
The wind blew against your face like harsh smacks as you raced down the streets of New Orleans. A horde of infected were right on your tail and it doesn't help that you had to bob and weave from a Hunter that was also after you. But you felt some glimmer of hope as you spotted a safe house. Quickly you hopped over a car hood, hearing the Hunter miss its lunge hitting the car. This gave you enough time to rush into the safe room and lock the door shut. Feeling victorious you flip the bird at the Hunter.
You slid down the door and tried to even out your ragged breathing. Once you calmed down, you started to loot what you could carry and began devising a plan. You couldn't stay long, Ellis was out there somewhere. At the mention of his name, your heart ached. You and your boyfriend got separated during an attack. A tank had completely demolished Ellis's truck and with how big the hordes were, you guys had no choice but to separate. Right now you knew you would have to wait out the angry horde outside the safe room door, but until then a plan had started to form.
There was a big map on the table with all sorts of pins and markings. After about five minutes you were able to locate where you were. Ellis had been taking you guys to a rescue point where you guys would've been taken to safety by the military. You would need to reach the interstate bridge to get to the meet up point and that was a good few miles from here. But doable.
It took an hour before the horde left. So grabbing your bag of supplies, you carefully walked out of the safe room. Keeping an ear out for any special infected that may be lurking by. You chose to keep to the alley ways instead of the main streets where you could be easily spotted.
"Oh shit..." Left your mouth as you stared at the bridge ahead of you. Currently you were hiding inside of a toll booth, letting a Hunter and Smoker lumber by. The bridge was packed with abandoned cars and all sorts of infected bastards. Glancing down at your gun, you count how many bullets you have left. A clip and a half plus your knife...this might be harder than you thought.
Boy were you right.
You were swarmed the second you started running. With a little help from your past hobbies, you were able to dodge and hop onto the cars. Using them as an extra barrier between you and them. Any that got too close got a knife to the dome or a bullet. However, as you neared a group of semi trucks, you felt yourself slow. How the fuck were you going to get over those? You don't have much time to think as a Hunter's shrill cry rang through the air and you felt yourself being tackled over the edge of the bridge.
Both you and the Hunter as well as other infected fell into the water. Thank god it was a hyped up version of rabies because as the other infected tried to get out the water, you took your chance to swim to safety. You let out a loud angry groan once you reached the shore. You soaked from head to toe, you lost your gun and knife. You were also sure you lost some of your supplies in your bag. But aside from the fact that you were now defenseless, you made it to the other side. Not wasting any time, you rush over to where the checkpoint was. Of course you slowed down and raised your hands to let the military folk know you were fine. "Help! Please, I'm not infected!" Your yelling caught their attention and an officer was fast to help you out.
"Where are we going?" You couldn't help but ask one of the officers. The ride there was relatively quiet with the sounds of radios going off. One of them, the one who brought into the checkpoint, answered you. "There's a base a few miles east. You'll be safe miss." You felt so relieved that you were going to be safe, but at the same time you felt worried. What if Ellis didn't make it? What if he's still in New Orleans cooped up in a safe room waiting for you? What if he died? You felt your eyes water at the thought. No, he's gotta be safe. He's gotta be, that cute idiot was too stubborn to die.
The camp was filled with rescued survivors. You glanced among the few you could see from behind the fence. Hoping to catch a glimpse of Ellis. You felt your anxiety sky rocket bit by bit when you weren't able to find him. Once the CEDA people checked you out and saw your were fine, they let you go. Another guard stopped you and gave you a box full of supplies before telling you where you needed to go.
You didn't even get five feet into the big building before you heard him. That sweet country voice that melted your heart evertime you heard it. "(Y/N)! Oh my god you made it!" You dropped the box you were carrying to rush into his arms. He spun you around, smiling through happy tears. "I was so scared...I thought you died!" You playfully shoved him, a waterfall of tears fall down your face. "Don't go and leave me like that again got it?" He chuckled. "Now you know I'm too strong to die. Like this one time me and my buddy Keith-" You cut him off with another tight hug and kiss. God you were so happy that this doofus was alive.
When you moved away, he takes your hand in his. A dorky grin on his face. "I can't wait to show you the awesome room they gave us." You wiped your eyes with a big smile on your face. "I can't wait to see it."

4.6 | Princess Scorpia
She-Ra and the Princesses of Power (2018)
🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸
Ohhh this episode would be SO GOOD if Scorpia was better set up!
I honestly loved just listening to her soliloquize for a whole episode. Her voice is so low and smooth. I love the extremely sad ongoing joke of her talking about her shit life and her lost culture in extremely optimistic terms. I think I really, really like her whole thing when she gets the chance to slow down a little, and being alone gives her that chance. I think it lets her feel more mature and aware of the situation instead of purely one-note.
I love the idea of this beautiful, kind soul, who copes with her life by being optimistic to the point of self-delusion, being fanatically devoted to her homicidal best friend, and finally having her illusion cracked as she realizes the nightmare she’s living in and how many other people she cares about are being hurt. I think that’s so strong in this episode. But I think maybe Scorpia’s spent so long not seeming to evolve or respond to the changing story that it really dampens it. It feels like this arc was practically dropped between “White Out” and now.
I wondered last season how Catra was going to escalate any further, but I think she really has! She’s become furious, cruel, and demanding on a whole new level, and it’s really frighteningly cool. She just screams and claws in every scene and it feels like her screws are going to rattle off. She’s becoming an even more violent, sad person and it's thrilling to watch. We get very familiar but no less satisfying beats today of her getting a personal wake-up call that unnerves her, and her running from the feeling by doubling down on her choices.
I love the way she and Hordak are now in an unstable equal position, and she’s even pushing him to be more single-minded and ruthless. It gives us such a concrete sense of both her power and her cruelty escalating.
I really want to know what their plan is???? This is the only thing that’s really clawed at my curiosity in this show and somehow I don't remember it from my first watch????
I MISS ENTRAPTA. I can’t believe the most important character has been gone for this entire season! The flashback recording was such a perfect bite of the most charming, funny, character-driven parts of the previous seasons.
Contrary to my memory, the discord between Adora and Glimmer is working really well for me! The initial scene of them fighting soldiers immediately struck me with a different tone than previous episodes. They seem to find fighting more low-stakes and easy than they ever have, and they feel more like larger-than-life badasses. They take on a level of immaturity that I can really roll with, and their conflict feels really believable and genuine! It’s SO unlike the dreadfully common trope where characters argue because they have to and are completely deaf to each other’s words. I LOVED when Bow mediated and they talked through their stuff in a genuine, empathetic way! Not to mention having it happen during the fight was super fun. I got to appreciate Bow more than usual, seeing him shine as the mediator.
For some reason, the boarding in this episode was fantastic! It had such a unique flair for the dramatic and cool, and there were so many compositions and action shots that stood out. The awesome low pan on Bow at 2:35; Scorpia’s drink jumping out of the cup; Rogelio hanging from the box; Glimmer and Adora’s triangle framing when they argue at 9:40. I also noticed a brand new bit of anime influence, like the way Emily fluidly zipped around, and Catra’s super-tired face, and the moment where panels showing Adora and Glimmer slid in on either side of a shot of Bow.
I had a really cute moment where the Horde soldier tried to lie in that extremely cartoony, telegraphed way that always annoys me, and then Double Trouble expressed the exact same annoyance. Yes, you get me!
God damn, this is a good season!
Next time: Whodunnit!?

for the last couple days I've been thinking about an AU of the castaspellma AU where Glimmer, having troubles with her truth spell and SW unable to cast one, call in Castaspella to help with the interrogation.
And she doesn't know anything about this 'prisoner', but she comes, because her niece asked her to. And then, she sees them...
...and suddenly, she has to have a Very Long conversation about her long-lost child who was kidnapped by the Horde.
Needless to say, Glimmer and Castaspella are both very hesitant to interrogate them, and instead agree that DT can be transferred to Mystacor for the time being.

acquainted

You had no intentions of becoming acquainted with the clan your family had cut ties with, but when Naoya Zenin himself is willing to teach you a lesson and you’re determined to show him what you’re capable of, it becomes a silly game of power and dominance.
REQUEST. naoya putting reader back to her place
WARNINGS: Naoya Zenin, rough sex, orgasm denial, face fucking, slight voyeurism, degradation, slight bondage, cowgirl riding, manhandling, spanking, hate sex
WC. 5.4k+
NOTES. Because Naoya is my favorite, his fic is the only one I’ve ever edited, LOL. Even though this is requested, this is written out of self-indulgence, purely because I love Naoya and even though he’s nasty, he’s my comfort character. And freaking FINALLY I have written more for this man. I worship this King 👑
Tumblr media
There were so many ways this day had gone wrong. First, your shower broke. Second, the maintenance men couldn’t come until late in the afternoon, so you had to drive all the way to school looking like a half-mess. You weren’t a slob, of course, but you were beyond irritable at the thought your hair felt greasier than most.
So when an unfamiliar mop of blonde hair sat at your place, the sight of pierced ears meeting your gaze as you smiled at the young man, you had to clutch your bag tighter. No need to be harsh to anyone; you reminded yourself.
“Hi,” you greeted as politely as you could.
The young man in your seat was handsome — terribly so — feline eyes emphasized with an eyeliner, and stunning green eyes that peered up at you with utmost boredom. He looked familiar, but you couldn’t pinpoint where you’d seen him before.
“I believe you’re in my seat.”
You expected he’d kindly take another seat since the hall was empty, but he only leaned back in your seat, brow raised with a slight smirk. “So?”
Your mouth fell agape, hands falling at your sides. Who was this guy? “What do you mean, so? Get the fuck out of my seat.”
“Women,” he rolled his eyes, “Always so tempered and dirty mouthed,” the words felt like stinging slap in your face, and he easily read through you when he snickered to himself, waving a hand in the air as if he was swatting a fly away. “I’m already sitting here, so go find someplace else. I came here first.”
“You little — who do you think you are?”
“Who do you think you are for speaking to me? Did I give you permission?”
His condescending voice made you lunge at him if not for your friend’s hand wrapping at your arm, shooting worried glances over the guy. His smirk deepened when your friend pulled away, the words mutter under her breath. “Come on, let’s go,” she tugged you away despite your protests, pushing your shoulders down to make you sit. Once out of earshot, she rolled her eyes. “I seriously hate that guy. Don’t you ever involve yourself with him.”
“Who’s that prick anyway? He acts so high and mighty like he’s some rich daddy’s son. Look, he’s totally claiming my seat as his!”
“That’s Naoya Zenin, and yeah, he is some rich daddy’s son,” she confirmed, shivering at the mere mention of his name. “He’s an absolutely big misogynist. Don’t be fooled by his pretty face — he’s the worst fuckboy to ever exist. That dick of his isn’t worth getting fucked over. He’s already made half the women in school cry and run after him like a horde of lovesick zombies,” your friend gagged with a shake of her head, “It’s terrifying, actually.”
“Fucking asshole,” you hissed under your breath, sending side glances at the corner of your eye.
That stupid guy was still in your seat, a bored expression on his handsome face, his long lashes fluttering against his cheeks at every blink. He just had to be a sexist pig with that gorgeous face — no good men existed anymore. “Whatever. He’ll get a taste of his own medicine soon.”
“Whatever it is you’re planning, I wouldn’t recommend it.”
“I’m doing this for all of us,” you announced with your spine straightened. “I’m not letting a man walk like that acting like he’s got the whole world at his feet. I’ll teach him a lesson or two.”
“You do know he can sue you if you punch him right?”
“Who said I was going to punch him?” a smirk painted your lips at the same time he felt your eyes burning holes at the side of his face, your expression even more triumphant when he tilted his head to the side, eyebrow cocked at your gaze. He must’ve assumed you’d fallen for his looks judging by the satisfied smile on his face, making you laugh because it would be fun to teach him a lesson.  “No, I have a much more interesting plan in mind.”
Tumblr media
It turned out that Naoya wasn’t that much of a stranger.
You had his reputation to thank for — people spoke his name left and right that it was nearly impossible not to know of him. It had you wondering how you managed to live through university so long without knowing him when the name drowned you; he was a Zenin.
No wonder that name was so familiar.
The Zenin’s were a close business partner of your family, but they cut off ties with their company years ago due to them having an intolerable attitude. Clearly, it ran in the blood, and their heir manifested it so well.
Thoughts of Naoya and his stupid face were soon drowned out by expensive champagne, the golden liquid sparkling in your hands. You had to attend this dinner gala where businessmen and powerful families alike conjoined for a formal opportunity of forming connections and solidifying deals, pressuring you to be at your best behaviour lest you wanted your black card to be cut off.
You made your way through the crowd to get another one of those hors d oeuvres, opting to just sit in the corner while you watched your family plaster on big, fake smiles with even louder, faker laughter.
It was quite sad, really, that people had to do stuff like this, but who were you to complain when it was what fed you on a silver plate all the time?
For now, you just wanted to enjoy the new dress your mother had gotten you, the silk black material hugged around your curves delectably. Pearl drop earrings hung to frame the sides of your face, legs lengthened and accentuated with stiletto heels.
You felt sexy — especially when you got lingering gazes from men who were slightly older and definitely richer, though you made no move.
The last thing you wanted was to become someone’s trophy wife when you could become so much more.  Plus, only your parents had the task of befriending people and building trust with others. You were only here to help represent the name somewhat with your pretty face, not really having much of an intention to be acquainted with anyone.
You swiped another glass of fizzy alcohol from the waiter that passed by, glossy red lips pinched around the glass when a sultry voice mused at your ear, “Still can’t find a seat?”
Swirling around so fast that the contents nearly poured out the glass, you weren’t surprised to see Naoya fucking Zenin stood before you, his tall stature draped in only the finest and hand-stitched three piece suit.
He looked absolutely delectable this way, earrings glimmering under the golden chandeliers and eyes lined with kohl, the aura of elegance that perfectly concealed his less than pleasing personality excessively charming.
You were beyond appalled.
“Still can’t find a brain?” you retorted with a roll of your eyes, eyes still narrowed at Naoya’s displeased ones as you dunk your drink in one go. “What are you doing here, pig?”
“I’ll let that comment slide once — only because you look hot tonight,” his predatory gaze ran over your form, the careful pattern of him pausing at the swell of your breasts sliding to the curve of your hips heating up each inch of your skin. “And it’s Naoya for you. Naoya Zenin, the rightful heir of the Zenin Corp—”
“What’s that scent you’re wearing? Baby powder? Fitting for your cute face, actually.”
Naoya’s jaw clenched, clearly unaccustomed to people cutting off his holiness, and you had to bite down on your lip to prevent the chuckles from slipping through. “It’s Tom Ford.”
“Hmm, why am I not surprised? My horrible ex also wore the same scent. Maybe it’s a trademark for all limp losers, huh?” Naoya opened his mouth to speak, but you beat him to it, stepping forward to grab at the space between his tie to pull him down. His face was mere centimetres away from you, close enough that his breath ghosted over your lips, the intense anger flaring through those eyes hot enough to burn you. “You act so smug and defensive, Naoya. Trying to have a big man personality to conceal a small dick?”
“I have nothing to prove to you.”
“You don’t need to prove me anything,” you glanced down at his pants with a smirk, ignoring the heat pulsing in your veins because the sight contradicted your words. There was a noticeable bulge inside those shiny black slacks, though the last thing you wanted him to see was the way your mouth watered in anticipation. “I already know what I need to know.”
“Yeah? You and your shitty girlfriends can’t stop talking about my dick?”
You shrugged sarcastically, “You know women. We’re tireless complainers.”
Naoya’s jaw ticked upon you using his words against him, his hands coming up to caress at your neck, his nails scratching behind the thick silver chain you wore.
From afar and in the eyes of others, people would’ve thought you and Naoya were simply getting a little too heated, his lips dipped to graze your ear while his slender fingers pressed a little tighter into your air pipe. Your positions could easily be mistaken for Naoya seducing you, and you supposed he was, since your body responded differently from your verbal protests.
“You should watch what you’re saying,” he warned, voice low with warning. “I could easily dump your body into a river and no one would even notice. In fact, maybe the world might even thank me for doing them a service and ridding them of a spiteful woman like you.”
“Oh, pretty boy,” you chuckled back and stood to your tippy toes. One of your hands wrapped around his neck to forcefully tilt his neck to yours, nose pressed above his collar to inhale the intoxicating masculine scent he wore. “You’re all bark and no bite. Why don’t you show me what you’re capable of? If you’re as awful as they make you out to be, maybe I’ll shiver enough to drop my panties for you.”
You didn’t miss the way Naoya’s hands gripped at your waist to pull you close, enticing you to continue with your insults because maybe Naoya liked this a lot more than he let on. Could it be his superiority complex didn’t always like submissive women, after all?
Well, it would make sense; everyone always liked a little challenge, didn’t they?
If that was what he wanted, then you’d be generous enough to grant it to him.
“Wouldn’t you like to get a chance to put me in my place, to teach me a lesson for defiling the oh-so-mighty Naoya Zenin?” you purposefully toned your voice down to a more breathy tone, your chest swelling with pride when Naoya sucked in a sharp inhale beside your ear.
God, he sounded beautiful — and you hadn’t even fucked him yet. Now, you were eager to hear what else those disgusting lips could be capable of other than degrading you.
Pulling away from him just to bat your lashes at him, heat pooled straight into your core when Naoya’s gaze had completely darkened, dark orbs pooled with lust and anger. Only he could make such an expression look so good.
“You don’t scare me, Zenin. You’re nothing but a small boy wearing big man pants.”
For a moment, your smile widened, believing that you’d won this time around. Naoya was still breathing hard at each brush of your stomach to his now hardening erection, but then he smirked and gently pushed you away from him. “I’m not fucking you here,” he stated calmly, not even bothering to keep his voice low. “You’re a lot dumber than I thought you’d be if you really think I’m whipping my cock out during this dreadful dinner.”
“This dreadful dinner you speak of is an opportunity for people like us to establish connections. I would’ve assumed you wanted nothing more to impress others but it seems I was wrong. If you hate this event so much, why bother coming here in the first place?”
“Just had a feeling I was going to meet a little minx,” he watched you seductively, his smirk adorned with his tongue peeking out to lick his lips — in turn wetting you in places he promised to make his by the end of the night. Curse him, you chanted in your head, curse him for being so attractive. It would’ve been easier if he was ugly. “And as always, I’m right.”
You tilted a brow, slightly impressed. “So you’ve done your background check on me. That doesn’t explain why you’re still here though. Surely a woman couldn’t be enough for a reason to make a man like you go all this way?”
“You’re right, a woman would never be a good enough reason, but I wanted to put you in your place,” his eyes flickered back up to you, now twinkling with danger and something else entirely. “Bad little girls need to be a taught to a lesson.”
“So what’re you waiting for? Go ahead and show me your ways, Zenin.”
“I will,” he nodded to himself, “I’m about to,” Naoya was nothing but confident as he strode your way until his arms was locked with yours, his breath tickling your collarbones that had unknowingly exposed itself at each heated touch. “You’re not that bad for a slut. You look like one, smell like one — I bet you also feel like one.”
A dry laugh left your lips as you fisted his shirt, mirroring his smirk to show that if a match was what he looked for, then a match he’d find indeed. Only this time, you would be worse.
“Why don’t you go ahead and find out?”
Naoya, despite being an absolutely poor excuse of a human being, was somewhat redeemable for being a man of his words. Find out he did, and he wasted no time into shoving you inside his McLaren, barely able to keep his hands off you the whole way up to his penthouse.
It was a blurry mess from there.
Moans spilled from your lips while he ripped your clothes off, not bothering to apologize that he’d just ruined one of your most prized possessions, his lust-clouded haze mumbling that he’d just buy you another one.
It was the last thing you expected to hear from him, but you couldn’t protest, not when he’d angrily snapped the buttons of his shirt away, a low growl mixing with your breathy whines as he loosened his tie.
Your eyes widened at the sight, legs rubbing together as you imagined what else he could do with that pretty tie of his.
Would he tie you to his bed, fuck you stupid and call you useless? Or perhaps, you could do it?
Naoya cut off your train of thought by pushing you back to his mattress, his hands tugging at his belt before he pulled his boxers down, his thick length slapping at his abdomen. Your mouth immediately watered at the sight. You were beyond wet from nothing but your sloppy make-out sessions, but would he fit?
Just the thought of him giving you that burning stretch made your legs spread beside his sides, the sardonic laughter ripping from Naoya’s lips absolutely disgusting.
“Fucking pathetic. You’re just like everyone else; submitting to me at the sight of my cock, but that’s not true, is it? Moment you saw me, I knew you were clenching around nothing,” he gripped at your jaw to force you to look at him. You glared up at him from his bruising hold, your cheeks squished under his rough hands. “But that’s okay; wanting me is not something you should be ashamed about. Although you should be thanking me I’m even letting you near me like this.”
“I’m so honoured. Come on, Naoya, let me feel you — let me make you feel good.”
Naoya, too lost in his ego, missed the sarcasm dripping in your voice. “So eager to be my cock sleeve, huh?” he grinned, tugging at your hair to push you deeper into his mattress.  “Get on your knees. Now suck.”
He was too harsh in his pace, determined to exert his dominance over you. You could feel every ridge of his vein as he continued fucking into your mouth, his abs rippling above you. It felt like witnessing a Greek god come apart, and you took pleasure in being his ruin, prompting you to hollow your cheeks and bob your mouth up and down on his cock harder.
Naoya’s chuckles were broken and often mixed with curses of fuck, you feel so fucking good, his nails now scratching at your scalp.
Soon, Naoya stilled inside you, his hold around your head deadly to keep you in place. Tears flowed down your face as he kept thrusting inside, making sure to hit the back of your throat before his muscles tightened. Spurts of warm cum followed after that, but instead of swallowing it like you expected he’d command you to do, Naoya whipped out his cock and came all over your face, his seed shooting all over your cheeks and lips.
You took it all obediently, just enough to give him the false pretense of submissiveness that he was so willing to force from you.
While he was occupied pumping his still rock hard cock, eyes closed and massaging your scalp almost soothingly, Naoya failed to notice your hurried movements of standing from the bed, fingers looped around his tie.
A small wail resonated from him when you shoved him down onto the bed, knees locked at either sides of his waist before you tugged at the cloth wrapped around his neck. Naoya kicked his legs behind you as you tied his wrists to the bed hard enough that Naoya winced, the tie only forming tighter at each lame grapple of his.
You looked back at how he got more beautiful laid out in front of you like that, chest heaving up and down while he struggled against the restraints, face flushed with anger — no, this wasn’t anger anymore — he was furious.
“What are you doing?! Get this off me — how dare you!”
“How dare you,” you spat back, discarding your lace bra off to wipe his cum away from your face, gagging when the bitter cum left a tang on your lips. “I just got my skin appointment last week and you came on my face like that?”
Naoya kept fighting back before he realised it was a futile attempt, leaning back down onto the pillows, though that didn’t soften his heated eyes on yours. You cooed at how adorable he submitted to you, running a finger down the sides of his jaw. “Aw, don’t look so angry, baby. I’m just starting my fun,” you purred, “You should’ve known better than to mess with me, Naoya. I’m not as nice as the others. And I’ll show you just how awful I can be.”
Naoya’s breath hitched when you shimmied out of your underwear, a dark glint in your eyes as you stretched the elastic into a fake arrow until it snapped into his face.
“You fucking bitch,” he growled, turning his face away from your panties soaked with arousal. “Once I get out of here, I will ruin you.”
“Huh, yeah, sure,” you mumbled incoherently, too lost in the pleasure as you sunk down on his cock. You were right, he was fucking thick, stretching you out better than any of your toys could. Plus, he was warm and leaking with pre-cum that he slid in easily, erotic groans leaving both your mouths once he was finally seated inside you.
Naoya was growling at you to let go of him when you laughed, lifting your hips up slowly before sliding back down on him just as slow, almost as if you made love to his cock the same passionate way you did with a lover. “You do have a wonderful cock, though. I’ve never felt this good in my life,” you leaned down to lick a stripe down to his neck, allowing him to hear the needy pants you graced with him. “You feel so good, Naoya, oh. If you weren’t such an asshole, I might even fall in love with you.”
“Go faster. This is unfair!”
Naoya tried thrusting deep into you, evidently unsatisfied at this torturous pace you set, but you only gripped at his thigh in warning, your eyes no longer sweet as you glared at him.
“Nothing’s ever fair in this world, sweetheart,” you reminded him, shivering every now and then as you bounced on his cock, his length slipping past through your walls magically. “Like how such a gorgeous face and amazing dick is paired with the most disgusting personality ever. No, it’s not fair, indeed...”
You closed your eyes with your head thrown back, placing your hips flat on his pelvic bone instead, fingers rubbing at your clit while Naoya throbbed inside you, desperate for release.
The little whines you gave were nothing but mocking. You knew that Naoya suffered through this position, but did you care? Absolutely not. With Naoya’s cock stretching you full and his tip kissing your most sensitive spots, in addition to your fingers rubbing and tweaking at your clit, this was the most pleasure you’d ever gotten from sex.
You were stimulated everywhere, your other hand reached up to tug at your hardened nipples.
Your walls clenched around him, signalling him that you were close and you let out a broken moan, falling forward to gyrate your hips around his cock to push you over the edge. It wasn’t enough to get him off since you were mostly still fondling with your clit, the sounds of your moans like torture to his ears.
“No, don’t you dare cum, I swear if you—” Your orgasm washed over you comfortingly like a warm blanket. Instead of seeing white, it was like your vision cleared, the sight of the sweat that made Naoya’s hair stick to his forehead in clumps crystal clear. You prolonged your orgasm by thrusting your hips in a sickening rhythm of thrust, pause, thrust, stop — and by then Naoya was losing his mind.
Naoya lost control as he snapped his hips upwards inside you hard enough that you winced in pain, pushing off his dick until he’s left humping the empty air, his body drenched with perspiration. “No, no, no, fuck you! Get back here you useless slut!”
You lay beside him, giggling in post-orgasm bliss. Just to tease him, you rolled to his side to press a kiss to his cheek, laughing harder when your lips came in contact with his flushed skin.
“You’re so adorable like this,” you cupped his face tenderly, perfectly aware that Naoya had begun to growl, his wrists almost bruised from how hard he brawled against his tie. “If I didn’t hate you so much, I would’ve let you cum inside me,” you offered with a pat to his chest, moving off the bed with wobbly legs.
“Well, whatever, that was fun. I would say we both had the most sensual sex of our lives, but that would be a joke for you, don’t you think?” you snorted as you inserted your arms to his discarded suit jacket.
Naoya stayed still on the bed, his cock still painfully hard and slick with your cum. “Don’t look so angry, Naoya. You had it coming for you. Don’t worry, though, as a thanks for letting me cum that hard — though I mostly did all the work — I’ll keep this between us so you at least get to keep whatever’s left of your dignity,” you blew a kiss his way, “Bye, sweetie. At least now I know people weren’t exaggerating when they called you a good fuck.”
Not bothering to slip your heels back on, you looped your shoes into the curls of your fingers, about to button Naoya’s jacket as you made your way to his door.
You never got halfway across the room when strong arms suddenly lifted you off the ground, your vision transitioning from his door to the pads of his feet, your body slung across his shoulder. Naoya gripped at your ass in warning when you kicked your legs, leaving him with no choice but to hug your thighs with one arm.
The next thing you knew, he slammed the balcony doors open with one hand and slammed you on the pool table. His rough hands yanked his jacket away from your body, the chilly night of the air bringing a shiver down your spine as it hit your drenched core.
Naoya had pinned your arms flat on your back in a painful angle, making you cry out just as he kneed your legs open, his free hand that wasn’t pinning you down aligning his cock against your hole. You were a moaning mess underneath him, the pain only an intoxicating addition to the pleasure he was pounding into you. Naoya then leaned to whisper your ear, the sudden movement making his cock slide deeper into you, the pleasure overwhelming.
“Oh, Naoya, fuck—”
“I am not just a good fuck,” he corrected you, “I am Naoya Zenin — and you will do well being silent and submissive while I fuck you, do you understand?” You were too lost in the feeling of him rutting deep into you that he had you seeing white this time around. When you didn’t answer, Naoya slapped your ass, your yelps echoing from the dead night. “I asked you a question.”
“No,” you bit back, “I refuse to—” you were silenced when Naoya hit your sweet spot, laughing at your state that you were too fucked out to give him a proper answer.
Naoya’s pace was merciless as he fucked deeper into you, the hand on your ass moving up to grab at your waist to keep slamming you back to his cock. He watched as your lips sucked him in so tight that he didn’t know whether you were pushing him out or refusing to let go. Turning your head to the side to gasp for air, you opened your eyes, only to be met by the sight of men crowding on the building across yours to witness your undoing by Naoya’s hands.
“I’ve barely started and you’re already so wet for me,” he mocked in your ear. As if on cue, squelching sounds accompanied your desperate moans, hands grabbing at nothing in particular. “Shall I try upping my speed?”
“N-Naoya- there are people looking.”
“Let them see,” he seethed, using one arm to lift your other leg up to the table to gain him more access into your warm, wet cavern. The sudden stretch made your muscles ache until you lay there limp; jaw clenched at the pleasure Naoya drowned you with. “Let them know how much I’m making this pussy mine. Gosh, can you hear yourself? You sound like a dirty fucking slut,” another slap landed on your ass, hard enough to leave a mark there for tomorrow. “You claim to hate me, so then why are you dripping all over me, huh? Pathetic whore. You women are nothing but cum dumps to me.”
Naoya spread your butt cheeks open, laughing at the silly way you clenched around him every time he pulled out, your puffy lips sucking him back again until Naoya buried himself to the hilt. His dick did wonders in letting out the most erotic whines and whimpers you never thought you’d be capable of, leaving you a drooling and panting mess under him.
“You little fucker, don’t even think about cumming inside me, I will literally castrate you and feed your balls to yourself.”
“Such a dirty mouth. Though that’s expected of a nasty woman like you,” he sassed, his thrusts faltering while his hand clenched your flesh tighter. That was enough to send you over the edge when Naoya slammed his hips harder and more desperately this time around, his cock twitching against your walls. “You wish I would cum inside you. But I have a better plan in mind.”
All it took was one rough hand for him to pull you before him, pushing you down into your knees again as he came inside your mouth. You could feel your cum and his dripping onto his dark marble tiles, the white pool of liquid shining.
Naoya thrusted lazily into your mouth, a sickening grin on his face while he kept you down there. His glare deepened when you tried to pull away from him. “Swallow, you slut. Or I’m fucking your face until I break your jaw.”
Furiously, you swallowed around his cock, Naoya groaning at the feeling of your walls convulsing around him. The moment you gagged from when his tip poked the back of your throat, Naoya pushed you off him until you were left choking on the ground. You gasped for air, hands clasped around your neck, sure that you were going to have a sore jaw and a fucked throat tomorrow.
You kept glaring at Naoya, but this didn’t deter him from gripping your chin down, humming to himself upon seeing that his cum was now gone in your mouth. “Hmm, so you did swallow it like a good girl. I’m glad I’ve disciplined you well.”
“Go to hell.”
“I’m King there already, baby,” Before you could retort, his arms encircled your waist until you were heaved in his arms again. You pounded against his back because you were too done, you couldn’t do another round. Naoya sighed as he threw you in the bed as if you were a ragdoll, disappearing in the bathroom for a while before coming back with a wet towel, which he rudely flicked your way. “Clean yourself up and then leave. Take the back elevators. I don’t want the staff to see a whore leaving my place.”
“You’re the one who brought me here.”
“Only because I had a duty to put you in your place,” He stared at you with his smirk now permanent in his face, admiring the bruises he left on your body.
“We’re not over yet, Zenin. I’m going to break you one way or another.”
You rolled your eyes at him, walking to his closet to wear one of his shirts. Naoya was silent the whole time as he watched you button his shirt with trembling hands, his presence hot on your heels as he followed you out the large room.
As you were about to leave, you picked up the towel you used to clean your cum with and threw it right at his face.
Naoya dodged it easily, eyeing the towel with a scoff. “Still resilient, I see,” settling down on one of his lounge chairs like it was a throne, Naoya rested his cheek on his fist as he stared you down. “But fine — I accept your challenge. A true man never backs down from a challenge, after all.”
“Oh, honey, I’m more than just a challenge,” you sneered.
Naoya’s gaze left your eyes to stare at your perky nipples that poked through his shirt, feeling his cock swell all over again. But he was a man of control and dignity — he wouldn’t do anything more with you, not when it was clear you’ve had enough for tonight.
It didn’t bother him though, he knew he’d have more opportunities to put you in your place.
“We’ll see about that. I’ll be the one to decide your worth,” he declared oh so smugly, the mere sound of his voice pushing you to slam a fist to ruin that pretty face of his, though you held your ground, far too tired to move a muscle. Naoya saw this too, and he smiled to himself, head tilted to the side as he studied the mess he’d made of you. “Tomorrow, same time same place?”
There was no telling what pushed you to agree, but the words left your lips far too confidently for you to even wonder why.
“Be ready for me, Zenin.”
“I always am.”
All the way back to the back elevators that Naoya had directed you at, you pondered on how you’d be able to tell your parents you suddenly needed a ride home when they had no idea you left the dinner gala in the first place. But most of all, how were you supposed to tell them you’d acquainted yourself with the Zenin clan all over again?

To address White Out.
Catra first gets the idea to use the corrupted chip when Entrapta says it messes with She Ras powers. She does not inform Catra that it makes her loopy or drives her berserk. We know from experience that most times a fight with She Ra and catra is unevenly matched. In favor of She Ra. We know because She Ra is stronger than Adora and Adora and Catra are clearly evenly matched with just Adora. And the fact thay Catra literally can't beat She Ra without doing something level the playing feild like separating her from her sword etc,
So before catra uses the chip on Adora she likely thinks its just gonna nerf She Ra or like, prevent Adora from becoming She Ra/detransform her.
Then Adora does rampage and Catra makes some comments that some people find, concerning to put it nicely.
Making comments about making her kill her friends
Making comments about "looks like you're mine now"
Making comments about having "control" of Adora.
And im not gonna lie and say Catra has no desire to have a say in what Adora does, especially when her own survival has depended on her for so long. She does so yes she does want some control over Adora.
HOWEVER
Catra is straight up bluffing with these comments. She just is. Worst shes gonna do is imprison Adora and try to convince her to work for the Horde again. She'll make mean comments too maybe.
How do I know?
Well what does catra do whenever she DOES get ahold of Adora
1: Restrain after a long fight, no further action
2: Let her go because Shadow Weaver was going to torture her/erase her memory
3: Left her in a castle she literally watched the ai controller of say she wanted to talk to/help adora. Canonically even says she knew Adora would most likely survive.
4: Has Scorpia, literally the nicest person in the Horde watch over/guard her
5: restrain and talk to her
6: Restrain and talk to her 2, activate portal.
This one im not counting but gonna talk about it in case someone brings it up. During the Portal reality everyone has lost their memories, everyone except maybe Razz who has her own time fuckery going on. Catras actions are because she believes this is how things are and how they are supposed to be. She cannot see what Adora sees so from her perspective Adora has suddenly developed a major case of psychosis and she responds the only ways she knows how. The moment Catra regains all of her memories she turns on Adora and begins to fight her. That is not Catra controlling a trapped adora but instead a worried Catra panicking about her best friend suddenly losing it.
7: Is corrupted by the portal magic, has knowledge she shouldn't, is probably overwhelmed and corrupted by this knowledge that has infected her mind through the portal, Fights adora and says mean things but Adora is still free handed and able to fight back, gets knocked out with one punch.
8: this time she uses electricity to combat She Ra, but thats it just an electricity minefield that she stays far away from
Even before all that at one point Adora says "I told you I'm not coming back" to which Catra says "I don't think Shadow Weaver plans on giving you a choice" key word here is Shadow Weaver.
Thats it, that's All the times that Catra has any opportunity to "control" adora or "make her hurt her friends" or lay claim to Adora. Not once does she actually use it.
Now that we've established that out of the many times Catra has had an opportunity to "control" Adora she never once takes it lets talk about another pattern of behaviour.
Catra bluffs
All the time
Especially when something goes wrong or when she feels her control on a situation slipping. Hell she even bluffs to avoid being vulnerable.
She bluffs about not wanting recognition in the Horde, she bluffs about being bad cop to Entrapta, she bluffs about torturing Entrapta/ordering her killed to Bow and Glimmer, She bluffs about Entrapta betraying the Horde, She bluffs to protect Scorpia, she bluffs to Prime about knowing how to activate the Heart of Etheria. Catra is known for bluffing about anything and everything to make herself seem in control or to save herself from danger.
So yeah I dont believe for a second that she would have forced adora to do anything, except maybe listen to her rants whenever she visits her cell.

Miss You
warnings: slight manipulation
fairly short fic
fluff (?), angst - catra x gn!reader
Tumblr media
it was hard to keep your composure once you saw her. you hadn’t expected to, it wasn’t like you left the Horde with the intention of seeing anyone from there again. you swallowed your anxiety and turned away from the entrance. you hoped you would get the chance to see her again.
unfortunately, you wouldn’t be as lucky as to have your wish granted. Adora and Glimmer were busy planning something due to Catra’s sudden appearance. and Bow was off having a fun time with Perfuma. you didn’t want to bother him with your anxieties. it would only worry him and it was bad enough you didn’t really fit in with the group.
you needed some fresh air. you looked around and quietly walked out to the balcony. it was dark outside, you could see the bright lights slowly pouring out of the building.
the music was slightly muffled and it kept you somewhat calm. ever since you left the Fright Zone, you had felt weak. you thought it was the best decision, leaving with Adora and joining the rebellion. they were supposed to be the good guys. the Horde was doing so many horrible things, but the more you thought about it, the more you realized that you didn’t fit in with the ‘good guys’.
constantly, you would mess up or say something that didn’t seem very friendly. it would end up with you being scolded by Adora or Glimmer. and every time, it just made you feel more and more useless. you arms rested in the railing as you looked down at the ground.
“(Name).” a smooth voice called out.
your eyes widened and you stiffened. they seemed to notice this as a low chuckle left their lips. you turned around and met gazes with Catra. for a split second, you wanted to wrap your arms around her and next let go. however, you currently didn’t have that option.
“Catra...” you said breathlessly.
the girl approached you, her tail flicking side to side. as she stopped in front of you, it distantly attempted to curl around you out of habit.
“i take it you missed me.” Catra tilted her head to the side, “how precious...”
you squeezed your eyes shut, “please leave me alone.” you said.
Catra carefully lifted her hand to your face. you felt her palms touch your skin and immediately, a comforting sensation flooded your body. as much as you wanted to resist, you could help, but lean into Catra’s touch. she grinned at your lack of resistance to her and caressed your cheekbone a bit more.
“you shouldn’t be here.” you said softly, turning away from her hand.
“and why’s that?” Catra asked.
a sigh left your lips as you turned back to face her. “you know exactly why, Catra. Adora knows you’re planning something.” you said.
“and do you know what i’m planning?” Catra questioned.
there was a moment of hesitation. it was fairly obvious what the plan was. maybe the Rebellion didn’t realize it, but for someone who was trained in the Horde. with Catra, it was easy to find out what the plan was.
“if i had to guess, it would be to kidnap Glimmer or Bow.” you said, “or both.”
Catra smiled, “you always were smart.”
you scoffed and looked down at the stupid, fancy shoes you were wearing. “says you.”
“everyone here thinks i’m useless. i’m not even allowed in on plans because they still think i’ll betray them.” you chuckled, shaking your head.
“that’s how the Princesses are, (Name). you should know this by now.” Catra said.
you nodded in agreement.
the Horde taught you all from a young age how spineless the Princesses were. not caring for anybody, but themselves. when you left the Horde, you realized that their exaggerated tales weren’t that far off from the real story. how they only included people they felt fit in with them, how they left out others they called their friends.
without giving you a chance, they decided that you weren’t trustworthy. even Adora, who you had grown up with, slowly stopped trusting you. it hurt more than you could put into words.
“you could always come back with us.” Catra offered.
your teeth gently sunk into your lower lip, “go back? where i’ll be criticized for leaving in the first place? i’m a traitor, Catra.”
“you made a stupid decision.” Catra’s hand cupped your cheek once more, “we all mess up sometimes.”
once again, you leaned into her touch, but this time you didn’t pull away. her tail carefully curled around your waist and the both of you fell into a comfortable silence. you wanted to go back with Catra. it would be better if you stayed with her, you wouldn’t be judged. you could continue doing what you were trained to do and nothing would feel unnatural.
“i miss you.” Catra said softly.
you blinked a few times. you could hear a genuine tone in her voice. a smile slowly creeped on to your face, even an idiot could tell when they’re being manipulated. however, you really didn’t mind. as long as you could be with Catra again, you didn’t care what had to happen.
“i miss you too.” you whispered.
“will you come back with me?” Catra asked.
just as you were about to answer, Adora walked outside on to the balcony. she saw the both of you and you could see her face shift from confusion to anger. Adora quickly approached you both and pulled you away from Catra. you stumbled behind Adora and barely managed to regain your balance.
“what do you think you’re doing, Catra?”
the girl smirked and shrugged, “simply chatting with a good friend. is there something wrong with that? or is that illegal too?” she teased.
“you’re planning something. i know it.” Adora grumbled.
Catra smirked, “oh i’m sure you’re right.”
“(Name).”
your eyes turned back toward Catra. she winked at you and gave you a small wave before walking away. silence settled around you all as your eyes followed Catra walking back into the castle. Adora turned to face you and grabbed you by the shoulders.
“what are you thinking?” she practically yelled.
you winced, “stop yelling.” you said.
“do you know how dangerous Catra is? it’s already hard enough to trust you, (Name)!”
that’s what set you off.
“trust me?” you scoffed, “we were raised together and suddenly, you drag me away from all that i know to join the Rebellion. a group of idiotic Princesses who have no clue what they’re doing!”
“sorry, that i don’t fit in with your perfect group of sparkly princesses! sorry that i don’t wear a crown, or fancy outfits, or have magic!”
Adora’s eyes widened as she started to process everything you were saying. she hadn’t meant to make you so upset. she was simply frustrated that she couldn’t figure out what Catra was doing. the music inside the castle started to get slower and that was Adora’s signal to go back inside. you pushed past Adora and walked to the other side of the balcony.
she looked back at you one last time before walking back into the castle. your hands clenched tightly around the railing. this was the first time in a long time where you got unbelievably angry.
a sigh left your lips as you realized your grip on the railing. you could still feel the frustration bubbling up inside of you, but you didn’t really have the energy to deal with it. all you wanted to do was get out of that stupid outfit you were wearing and go back home, back to the Fright Zone. you pushed yourself away from the balcony and walked back into the castle.
by that point, everything appeared to be in shambles.
it seemed like Catra’s plan was already taking place. Adora was frozen on the floor and Glimmer was running after Catra. you approached the ice chamber and kneeled down next to Adora. she looked at you and practically pleaded to you with her eyes to release her. you smiled lightly and placed a hand on one of the ice shards.
“i guess you were right about one thing.” you admitted, “i can’t be trusted.”
with that, you got up and walked away from her. it get so refreshing to finally speak your mind. slowly, you rushed out on to one of the other balcony and saw an incapacitated Glimmer being dragged on a ship with Bow. you scanned over them, not being able to find Catra. you assumed she was still doing things around.
Scorpia looked at you and immediately recognized you. “(Name)!” she said excitedly.
Tumblr media
you leaned off the edge of the ship a bit as you were headed back for the Fright Zone. admittedly, you were nervous to go back, it had been awhile and you had betrayed them. you looked down at your palms and squeezed them shut out of frustration.
“nervous?” you nodded as you felt a soft tail carefully curl itself around your waist.
“i feel guilty.” you said, “i left everything i had. everything we had all because i thought i could trust Adora. i thought she was right.”
you sighed and shook your head. “i don’t belong in a place full of princesses. they don’t like people different to them. no matter how much i tried to prove myself, they always denied me anything.”
Catra gripped your hands tightly and you turned you body to face her. the look on her face was upset, but it was obvious in her eyes that she held care for you. you chuckled lightly and brought your hand up to Catra’s cheek. she flinched a bit before relaxing and closing her eyes.
“you look good in that suit.” you hummed.
“shut up.” Catra hissed.
she turned to walk away and you burst out laughing, quickly going after her.
“Catra! stop, you know i can keep up with you right?”
“you ruined the moment, (Name).”
“oh, come on! Catra!”

i've been re-watching season 4 and thinking about glimmer and her motivations and why she did what she did so because she's one of my favorite characters in any media ever im gonna rant. don't read this as me excusing her actions by the way, but rather talking about her motivations and why she did what she did
throughout the entirety of season 4, glimmer is looking for some form of control. she hasn't been able to have any impact, adora and bow weren't listening to her, they didn't let her make her own decisions because they disobeyed her orders pretty often, etc. and whenever she tried to do something, go out and fight like she wants to, adora and bow were upset with her. she felt powerless and out of control. didn't help that double trouble was poking holes in their relationship as well.
but then shadow weaver came in and offered her power and control. she turned it down at first but after bow gets hurt by the pulse bot she takes her offer. thats a key distinction by the way, because all of her decisions had to do with her love for her friends and her people. anyways, she finally gets some genuine impact with her decisions in destroying the big pulse bot and beating catra, and so she keeps letting shadow weaver teach her magic. but she didn't completely trust her, not at first. at first, in her mind, she was just gaining information and knowledge from SW. she even says she didn't trust her at first as well ("do you think im naive enough to trust shadow weaver?"), but shadow weaver is a master manipulator. sure she knew she was bad but shadow weaver was an expert at manipulating people to her will and wants. glimmer felt like she had control over the situation when in reality she didn't.
should glimmer have let shadow weaver manipulate her? no, of course not. but she felt like she needed some kind of power to regain control in some way. shadow weaver was the only one who would listen, who would offer her some way to help, who would give her some way she could help. she was desperate to stop them at the time so she was more willing to go to underhanded tactics like using adora as bait to get to catra and stop her while she's undefended. again, not defending her actions but still.
then there was mer-mysteries, where a lot of her issues in season 4 took hold. she lost any control she had again because of the spy ruining any potential plans, as well as knowing that *something* was up and that the horde was planning something but not knowing what and not being able to do anything about it. so when she finds out that salineas was lost without anything she could do, she gets more desperate, being more willing to use worse tactics, ("whatever it takes...") and even to use the heart of etheria. but it should be noted she didn't know everything. she didn't see what bow and adora saw. she wasn't on the ship when that all happened. had she been, she probably wouldn't have done what she did. we as the audience get the grace of the big picture, but glimmer didn't. also note that she didn't intend to use all of it. she intended to channel a small part to supercharge their magic and beat the horde.
also in fractures i want to bring up that again, nobody talked to glimmer when they wanted to go to beast island to save entrapta. glimmer wanted to talk about it. she wanted to come up with an actual plan for when they go to save entrapta. she wanted them to stop barrelling ahead without a plan. and she *did* want to save entrapta, but the horde was winning, they had so much more territory now, they had salineas, they had a lot, and she had no idea if entrapta would actually help them or go to the horde or anything like that. because they didn't know the full extent of what happened. glimmer is right, from her perspective. entrapta kinda did betray them, she helped the horde, a lot of her tech is why the horde is so powerful. if bow and adora explained more of what happened, showed her the hologram and what mara said, and things like that, maybe she would agree with them, but they didn't. again, glimmer *was* in the wrong for a lot of this, but she didn't have all the information and she felt like she wasn't trusted by bow and adora, and she felt betrayed when they left to get entrapta. ("if they don't trust me, i don't trust them").
her talk with scorpia really shows some of her insecurities and doubts, especially this quote. "my best friends left me. even before this, i was the weak princess, the one who had to recharge, who didn't fit."
in destiny we see her fully willing to use underhanded tactics to win, with lying to shadow weaver about the plan and having double trouble manipulate catra.
and then we get to destiny part 2, and her realizing winning like this, wasn't what she wanted. the moment with catra really solidified this, where she realizes she's alone just like catra. ("looks like we're both alone, sparkles.") (i thought you wanted to win. use your weapon." "i cant, it would destroy everything.) when light hope activates the heart, she realizes she was wrong. she realizes she failed. both in her mission to stop the horde, and she failed her friends by pushing them away for nothing. she fucked up, but she tries to fix it. she tries to stop it by attacking the black garnet, even if she knew it wouldn't work.
overall, i loved her character arc throughout season 4. she was a queen before she was ready, she felt like she lost agency and control, she felt like nobody was taking her role as queen seriously, she felt weak. and even when she was winning, she wasn't. she was being manipulated almost every step of the way. manipulated by shadow weaver. manipulated by double trouble. manipulated by light hope. she pushed away her friends hoping to end it, to stop the horde, she was hoping the end would justify the means, but they didn't. she was wrong, she realized she was used by everyone. but that didn't stop her from attempting to stop the heart. it didn't stop her from trying to fix her mistakes. and i love that. everything she did, she did for her people, even if it didn't seem like that to others. no matter what happened to her, she kept fighting, kept trying to do what was best for etheria, even if she was wrong. god i love this character so much.
this was a lot longer than i thought it would be and took me a lot longer to write than i thought it would, but she's just such an interesting and complex character that i wanted to try and do her as much justice as i could. i know i missed some things like her search for approval as well, since the people who manipulated her that she went along with offered her some kind of approval. shadow weaver and light hope both praised her, called her strong. and that desperate need for approval just let them manipulate her so much easier. ok this is actually it for now but glimmer is so good and i love her.

She-Ra: Rewriting Hordak
Tumblr media
While I consider myself a fan of the Netflix reboot of She-Ra, I fully admit to never really paying that much attention to its 80s original. I certainly knew of it, and I may even have watched an episode or two when I was really young, but it never really got counted as something I was especially knowledgeable about. As such it wasn't until recently that I learned that the relationship between main character Adora and big bad Hordak was very different between the two versions of the story. While the recent interpretation had them as enemies with no real connection or even screen-time, the original Hordak basically served the role that the reboot Shadow Weaver had, that of Adora's adopted parent. At first this was just kind of a "huh" moment for me, but as time went on I started to wonder how the reboot show might have gone if they'd actually kept that angle on the two of them. And as I considered it, I began to basically re-envision the Netflix show and what it would have been like, to the point where I ultimately felt that Hordak, as a character, might have been made a better and more interesting character if they'd done so.
To start off with, let's mark Adora's arrival into Etheria as our point of divergence. Hordak finds her and, instead of wanting her just sent off to the other orphans or given to Shadow Weaver, he decides to become her guardian himself. She is, after all, the only one in that entire world who is in the same position as he is. An alien and outsider to Etheria who is cut off from where they came from. When Hordak looks to this lost infant, he feels like he's looking at not only someone he can shape into a great future warrior for his cause, but possibly the closest thing he can ever have to family. So he takes her in, becomes her personal trainer as she grows, teaching her about all he knows, along with great hopes that she will one day be his right hand. And Adora, ever the dutiful, eager-to-please child she is, grows up in this environment utterly convinced that Hordak, her adopted father, wants what's best for Etheria. A controlled, orderly world instead of the divided, "chaotic" kingdoms of the princesses. The Horde's top cadent, respected by the brass, but envied by her fellow orphans, including Catra.
Then things sort of go in the way they did in the canon show. Adora goes out at Catra's urging, she stumbles onto the sword and into Glimmer and Bow, she realises what damage the Horde is doing and realises that she can't be a part of it. But the difference here is that because of their relationship, Hordak realises Adora's secret identity straight away, and as such becomes torn. Despite the rebellion now having the ultra-powerful She-Ra on their side, he commands that the strongest of the Horde's forces not engage them. He gives the pretence of "wanting to conserve strength for larger battles", but the truth is that he doesn't want to see Adora get hurt. This unwillingness on his part to go all-in on fighting while Adora is with the rebels is exactly the reprieve the latter faction needs to start winning fights, which begins to inspire other princesses to join Bright Moon and their resistance. And all the while, Hordak's position becomes shaky as the likes of Shadow Weaver discovers not only She-Ra's identity, but Hordak's reasons for not wanting to fight her, thus beginning her own plans for power and advancement within the Horde.
But don't think all of this is simply for Hordak's benefit, as Adora's character would be made to go through some changes too in this re-write. You see, I sort of felt that her acceptance into the rebellion happened a bit quickly. Sure, she has the edge of being their legendary hero, but even so, having come from the ranks of their greatest enemy should have given them a bit more pause. Being the adopted daughter of Hordak will definitely do that. Because yeah, being raised in the Horde by one of Hordak's lieutenants is one thing, but being the daughter of Hordak himself? That's another ballpark entirely. And it's something that can be used against her by her enemies. Maybe Catra, in the middle of a fight, lets slip this relationship the two have, right in front of other rebels to try and drive a wedge between them, and puts Adora into having to explain why she never revealed this earlier, putting her under greater suspicion. You could have an entire season-long arc of her slowly winning the trust of the others, all of whom have every right to be suspicious of her, especially given that she herself actually has mixed feeling about waging war against the one who raised her.
Additionally, it's worth noting that Adora's personality is going to differ from her canon self in this version. After all, if you're being raised by a different person, you're going to turn out different. She's still the good, noble and selfless type, but having been brought up by a strict, stern orderly type like Hordak, that kind of thing is going to rub off on her. She'll be far less prone to wanting to break rules, with the obvious exception of defecting from the Horde of course, and maybe that'll be reflected in behaviour like wanting her room in Bright Moon to be neat and tidy all the time. And on top of that she'll be more scientifically-minded. Because Hordak in the canon show (and this one as well), is a tech genius, with mechanical knowledge far above anything Etherian natives have going for them. Being around that sort of environment will make this Adora more of a grease monkey, the kind who rolls up her sleeves and gets stuck into machinery whenever it doesn't work. And hey, maybe that's how the rebels recruit Entrapta in this version, that she and Adora sort of bond or nerd out over machinery and technology while Bow and Glimmer have no idea what they're talking about.
But getting back to Hordak for a moment (in this re-write that's supposedly about him), I mentioned before that Shadow Weaver would be making some kind of power play to undermine her boss's position, and his connection to Adora would give her a prime opportunity to do so. Say something like Glimmer's capture happens here as it does in the show, and Adora goes in to rescue her. The Horde has all the good guys trapped, and victory is within their grasp. Hordak, knowing Adora has no other way out, gives them the chance to escape, for love of her rather than any of her friends. The heroes get out safe and sound, but Shadow Weaver leaps on this, accusing Hordak of sabotaging their war effort. She rallies anti-Hordak forces within the faction, and before long we have a full-on civil war within the Horde, maybe even one so bad that Hordak himself has to flee. And where else can he run except to Adora, asking for her help, sort of like what Shadow Weaver did in the canon show. And Adora now finds herself having to convince her friends and allies that Hordak, at least right now, is not the major threat they need to be dealing with, thus adding to her aforementioned arc of struggling to find trust and acceptance within the rebellion.
So yeah, that'll be a whole arc in this rewrite. Adora convincing the rebellion to help out Hordak and join with him alongside whatever loyalist forces from the Horde he was able to bring with him. As for why he and not Shadow Weaver would be considered the worse option, well, my reasoning is that despite Hordak definitely being a war criminal (in both this and the canon version), he's not as relentlessly obsessed with gaining greater power in the way that Shadow Weaver is. In this version, the latter would never be satisfied until she had more and more, thus making her a more aggressive threat that's been waiting to be off the leash to show it. And as Glimmer's aunt, Castaspella, can attest, Shadow Weaver already betrayed Etheria as a whole to the Horde, so her allegiance is very clearly to herself and her own gains. So, despite obvious tension and mistrust, this coalition bands together to face off against Shadow Weaver and her side of the Horde. It'd be a struggle, but in the end the good guys win out, and as thanks for restoring him to his throne, Hordak agrees to cease hostilities between the Horde and the rest of Etheria.
Now at this point you might be wondering, where's Catra in all of this? And you'd be right, as I've hardly mentioned her. Well, that's because I don't really see this rewrite as changing her all that much. She'd follow most of the same beats as her canon self, with the obvious exception being that the Horde civil war mentioned previously would have her side with Shadow Weaver over Hordak. And that might seem strange, given that the former would be just as much of an abusive and manipulative parent to her here, but Catra has been very consistent in the show with who she treats as a friend or foe. If you stick with the Horde, you're on her side, but if you defect or side with the rebels, you're her enemy. By joining up with Adora, even if it was to win back his old position, Hordak made himself Catra's enemy. But, Shadow Weaver would be brought down and Catra would likely have to flee after that whole debacle, maybe taking up Scorpia's advice from the show to head out to the Crimson Waste to rule the place herself. And I'd imagine she and Adora would maintain their "we used to be friends but are now enemies" dynamic for the most part.
But with the fighting between the Horde and Rebellion over, what's next? Well, I imagine it would be some sort of Cold War scenario between the two sides. There's no outright fighting, but there'd be lots of bared teeth from across a guarded border. Lots of spying and infiltration and manoeuvring. Tensions all around, but for the time being the peace is kept. And with no hostilities, Adora finally works up the nerve to return to the Horde capital and speak with Hordak, at last allowing the two to talk to each other about everything that's happened. Adora calls him out on his conquest of Etheria, while Hordak counters by saying Adora betrayed him by leaving to side with his enemies. Maybe things flare up so much between them that Hordak's health issues come to the forefront and Adora, who perhaps suspected that he was sick, says she can help him with her healing powers. Hordak is loathe to admit to weakness for anyone, but for her he accepts. And it is during Adora's attempts to heal her adopted father that the latter finally opens up to her about how she is the only person he's ever cared for, as well as warning her of the greater danger out there in space.
And yes, this is where that threat, Horde Prime, finally turns up, and with him I feel we need another change to Hordak's character. In-canon, he was utterly devoted to his creator until the end, doing everything he did on Etheria in the hopes of pleasing him and returning to his service. Here, I'd have Hordak utterly loathe his former master, recognising him as an abusive figure in his life and wanting to break free of his control right from the start. His unexpected portalling to Etheria? A chance to finally be rid of Horde Prime, and the opportunity to create a domain of his own, with no plans whatsoever to seek Prime out and go back to him. However, Prime himself has been searching for his wayward creation, and now has found him. So, it's time for the Rebellion and Hordak to team up yet again, perhaps even with Catra and Scorpia coming out from the Wastes with their own forces to create some kind of three-faction coalition against the alien invader. Catra and Adora hash out their own issues in the same way the latter and Hordak did, and together they and everyone else join together to fight their common foe.
But of course, Horde Prime's forces are overwhelmingly powerful, and after being driven back and back, things are so bad that Hordak is captured by his creator. Prime, naturally, wants him to resume his allegiance to him, demanding obedience, and Hordak attempts to play for time being saying he'll do just that. But as a twist of the knife, Prime demands that he prove it by killing Adora (who maybe got captured along with him), his one real tie to this world. Here, Hordak refuses, having finally decided that his daughter matters more to him than even his own life, and Prime responds by dealing with his errant clone, killing him. Yes, you read that right. In this rewrite of Hordak, Hordak himself is killed off. And my main reason for that is that his canon ending, having a sort of happy freedom after everything he did to Etheria, never sat right with me. Mermista even seemed to agree, given that she called the whole thing out at the end. So yes, this Hordak is dead, killed by Prime after having chosen Adora over his master. And perhaps that will be the trigger for Adora. Her adopted father is dead, and she's more driven than ever to fight Prime and end the war once and for all.
As for how Prime gets beaten, I'm uncertain on the details, but the inevitable end of it is that he does eventually fall. But now we have a complication. Because with Hordak dead, the remaining Horde forces of Etheria instead kneel and swear allegiance to Adora, much to her and everyone else's shock. You see, while she's always been titled as a princess, I've always been uncertain what she was a princess of. And then it hit me. If she's the adopted child of Hordak, then she is a princess of the Horde, as well as being his heir apparent. So, with great uncertainty, she accepts this new position, now taking on the mantle and title of Lord Hordak (or Lady Hordak, if you prefer). As the new leader of the faction, Adora can guarantee that not only can there be lasting peace between them and the rest of Etheria, but she can help transition them to be a better people than they were under her father's reign. Additionally, Catra can be invited back to the faction to resume her post as second-in-command, this time to Adora herself, which of course enables the two to continue their relationship. And with all that said and done, the rewrite version of the show comes to a close, with Adora now upon her late father's throne.
Now, I want it on the record that I don't consider my version of events and characters to actually be better, or even as good, as what ND Stevenson and the crew of the show gave to us. I'm actually very happy with the canon show as-is. It was a great cartoon that I was thoroughly engaged by from start to finish, and if I actually had a say in the matter I wouldn't change anything about it. This was just a bit of fun speculation on what kind of direction things might have gone in if the relationship of the 80s version had carried over into the reboot. I hope you all enjoyed reading this, as it was a blast to think about and write 😊

Adora’s arc is such a goddamn mess in the end.
Adora, as a character, never seems particularly motivated by a desire for romantic love. Like, she’s capable of crushes, as witnessed with Huntara, but “I want to be loved” doesn’t seem to show up on her radar at any point. Friendships, yes, she seems to value those a lot. She wants to understand herself and her place in the universe. She wants to find her family, which is generally portrayed as an extension of the previous two points: a place she belongs, and which helps her understand who she is.
Romantic love, though? Never seems particularly significant. Never really shows up on her radar. There’s no Fantasy Valentine’s Day episode where she seems lonely or haunted. She never seems either confused about or jealous of the known romantic couples she encounters, like Bow’s dads or Spinnerella and Netossa. She’s unaware of terms built on blood relationships, like “aunt”, but never seems to question the concept of a husband or wife.
This is why her arc in S5 ends up so weird, because it decides to concentrate on how Adora deserves to focus on her own wants sometimes at a point in the narrative when the show does not care what Adora wants.
Her desire to find her family turns out to be totally irrelevant. We get confirmation that they’re probably dead and Adora barely reacts. She showed more emotion when confronted with a cake that looked like her the previous season than when she discovers that Horde Prime has taken away something she previously valued so much she was willing to leave the Horde for a chance of finding it.
Her friendships are mostly just used for cheap Drama Points as part of the overall sidelining of the Princess Alliance. (Because, you know, a show called She-Ra and the Princesses of Power should spend its entire final season vaguely annoyed that it has to have Princesses of Power and mostly treat She-Ra as a Save The Day button that’s activated by filling out the showrunner’s shipping chart.) Significant friendship breaches like the breaking of the BFS in the previous season or Catra’s history of treating her like shit, which we received confirmation in season 5 dates back to about the age of nine, are breezed past in like twenty seconds. And that’s a really wild shift given that the power of her friendships within the Princess Alliance blasted away an entire army and healed Glimmer’s glitching back in season 1.
As a result, the final resolution feels weird. Adora gets the thing the show decided, like a third of the way into the final season, she had always wanted, and that makes it okay that the things that she literally has always wanted per the actual episodes they put on Netflix were bluntly shoved into the background or forgotten about entirely.
I’m not saying that you can’t or shouldn’t do a show where The Power Of Love saves the day. I’m just saying that, even overlooking the whole “Catra's entire personality is made of red flags and the script keeps undermining any attempt to develop or redeem her” issue, it’s an awkward pivot when the show had previously seemed to be focused more on friendship than romance.
You have a character who wants to find a family, you have the best candidates for her found family literally in the name of the show, and then you go for “the day is saved by Toxic, Badly Written Romantic Love (TM)!”
The disconnect between what the show had previously seemed to be going for and what we’re told was the plan all along is wild.

Hi everyone. Sorry about not posting this earlier today, stuff came up. Anyways, I hope you like this chapter.
It has also come to my attention that I have been spelling Salineus wrong, so I'll have to take some time to go back and fix that. Also, the map I'm creating should be finished in maybe two days, depending on my mood.
________________
Chapter 4: What Are We?
“Ok,” Adora dropped a pad of paper onto the table. “Here are the notes I made on Lord Hordak and Princess Entrapta’s intera- where is Bow?”
“I don’t know.” Glimmer buried herself further into the armchair. “Probably having fun with his new best friend Perfuma.” Adora rolled her eyes. Recalling how Catra acted whenever Adora spent time with anyone else, and how Catra would whine until Adora spent time with her, neglecting everyone else in the process.
“Whatever. Let’s see, Lord Hordak was seen dancing with Princess Entrapta well after the two should have separated. Lord Hordak has always been known to be a stickler for the rules, so this must be a big enough deal that he would engage in such a ‘flagrant breach of conduct’.”
“Wait didn’t Mermista mention in one of her stupid sea-themed mystery books that the murderer seduced some dutchess to then murder her? Maybe Hordak is trying to charm Princess Entrapta into allying with him and the Horde!”
“Oh please, all Lord Hordak does is yell at people to get away from him. There’s no way he can ‘seduce’ anyone.”
“Well, he must have done something because Princess Entrapta went on the spend the entire rest of the evening with him! The two have probably struck some kind of deal already to unite their forces and crush the rebellion!”
“You’re right. We have to convince Princess Entrapta to join our side.”
“How? Every time we bring up allying our forces she finds some excuse to leave.”
“Then we need to get her in a position where she can’t get away.”
“Can we talk with her tonight?”
“No, I want to make sure of what we are seeing before we do anything. That and we need to figure out the angle in which we need to approach her.”
__________________________________________________
Entrapta entered the ballroom for the second night of festivities. She made a beeline for one of the many snack tables, filling her pockets with enough miniature desserts to last the night.
She raked her eyes over the sugared confections laid before her. The best part about parties such as this is the food. Everything was always miniaturized for efficiency, which is why Entrapta loved tiny food. They had small cupcakes dyed blue with snowflake candies sprinkled on. Miniature cookies frosted with floral shapes coated in edible glitter. Moon pies are colored to look like the 12 moons of Etheria. Stacks of macarons in every color of the rainbow. Every type of chocolate a person could think of covers ripe strawberries. Milk chocolate poured out of a miniature fountain. Tables like these were scattered across the ballroom filling the room with the scent of baked goods and chocolate.
“Hi, Princess Entrapta!” Called out Scorpia who was pushing past the other glittering guests.
“Hi Princess Scorpia, where is Catra?”
“Right here,” Catra said, seemingly coming out of nowhere. Catra placed her hand on Entrapta’s shoulder. “How have you been, we barely got to see you last night after you ran off with our boss.”
“Oh, I’m fine. Another night of data to collect. Heh,'' Entrapta's hair slipped Catra’s hand off of her shoulder.
“Hey, Princess Entrapta, what were you and Lord Hordak doing last night,” Scorpia asked, trying to desperately contain a smile.
“Oh, he just told me about the Fright Zone and what to expect when I get there. We told each other about some of the things we have created in the past. He was very nice to me throughout the whole evening” Catra chuckled. “What’s so funny?”
“Nothing, it’s just the words ‘nice’ and ‘Hordak’ don’t go together.”
“Really?”
“Yeah, you must be really special to have him be so nice to you. He’s usually really grumpy and aloof.” Scorpia explained.
As Entrapta’s cheeks began to flush, she pulled her mask down pondering all the meaning Scorpia’s statement could have.
“Well, we better get going. You do have all that important data to collect. Enjoy your evening Princess Entrapta.” At that, the two women left a flustered Entrapta alone.
As her mind raced to find the meaning behind Scorpia’s words, she remembered her fleeting conversation that afternoon with Morella. Was there another reason she wished to ally with Lord Hordak? Even in one evening, they had formed a connection. They both understood each other in ways others could not. She was unable to describe what they had. Were they friends or just acquaintances that understood each other’s interests? In her 29 years of living, she had never met another person who could keep up with her the way he could. Everyone either couldn’t understand what she was talking about and played dumb while desperately trying to change the subject, or they did understand her but didn’t care about her ideas. Hordak has been one of the few people who understood her ideas and saw their potential of them.
Entrapta was brought out of her trance when someone bumped into her. It was Princess Spinerella and Princess Netossa of the Unnamed Kingdom.
“Oh, I’m sorry Princess Entrapta.” Spinerella apologized, putting her hand over her heart.
“It’s ok. I shouldn’t have been standing there for so long. Have you two decided on a name for your new kingdom yet?” Before the marriage of Spinerella and Netossa, their kingdoms were completely separate. Then when they did get married and united the two kingdoms, they had no clue what to name their newfound kingdom; hence, why it has been called the ‘Unnamed’ or ‘Unknown’ Kingdom.
“Not yet, turns out naming a kingdom is harder than it looks,” Netossa admitted. “Speaking of kingdoms, have you decided to join the Princess Alliance yet?”
“I’ve decided to join the Horde.” Entrapta smiled despite the dread that crept up her spine.
“Say what now?”
“Um Princess Entrapta, are you sure about that decision?”
“Yes actually. The Drylian ideals and politics better line up with those of the Scorponi kingdom; furthermore, their economy is better and the wealth is more evenly distributed across the kingdom.” Entrapta prepared herself for the onslaught of criticism.
“I-I um… Very well Princess Entrapta. We are glad your mind has been made up.” Spinerella shot Entrapta a fake smile and lead her wife away into the crowd.
That was weird. Entrapta pulled out her recorder, clicking it on.
“Princess Prom night two, log one: after informing the Princesses Spinerella and Netossa of my newfound political alliances they did not react outright negatively, even though they opposed me joining the Horde. Instead, they expressed their relief at my decision-making. They then made a hasty getaway, a trademark occurrence when I speak about tech to other people. I theorize they were not looking for a conflict or a debate with me so they escaped the conversation as fast as they could. Further analysis will have to be made through gaging the reactions of others when the topic of my allegiances is brought up.”
_________________________
Hordak stood off to the side, sipping a glass of wine and listening in on the conversations around him. Thus far, he has gathered Prince Peekablue is a no-show. He saw who he believes is his girlfriend, Princess Sweet Bee, wailing that he, once again, did not come as promised. Which was unfortunate because Hordak was hoping he would be in attendance so he could get him on his side. His powers of foresight could greatly help with the war by predicting what campaigns bore fruit and what campaigns resulted in disaster. Perhaps he could find him another day despite his status as a hermit. He also gathered the Head Sorcerous Castaspella was also not in attendance which he found odd since, according to his sources, she was there at the previous Princess Prom. Perhaps something is happening in Mystacor he was unaware of.
Then something caught his ear. It was the Princesses Netossa and Spinerella of the Unnamed Kingdom whispering something to the Star Sisters. He walked closer to them, trying to look inconspicuous. Staining his hearing to gauge what they were talking about.
“Princess Entrapta has allied herself with the Horde,” Netossa whispered. The three sisters gasped quietly.
“Why would she do that?” Asked the blonde sister.
“Something about their political ideals lining up and having a better economy.”
“Don’t tell anyone I told you this, but I did see Princess Entrapta and Lord Hordak sitting close to each other up in the rafter the other night.” whispered the thinnest sister.
“Perhaps they are having an affair?” The pink-haired sister suggested.
“Perhaps it is none of your business.” Hordak’s crimson eyes pierced through the souls of the five women. Terror froze their faces. They gave small apologies before scampering away.
How dare they speak about Princess Entrapta that was. Fury courses through his veins, boiling his blood. It took him every ounce of willpower in him not to scalp the five women, mounting it on his wall as a warning. He balled up his fists, unaware of the wine glass he broke in his hands until a poor servant came to clean it up.
A wave of embarrassment flooded him, washing out all the rage he felt. Hordak apologized profusely, getting down on his knees to help clean up. This astounded the servant who, while earning the occasional apology, never got help from a royal. After cleaning the area Hordak put a gold coin, twice his daily wage, in the servant’s hands. The servant gave him a swift bow before returning to his post.
Hordak took a deep breath, still modified at his public outburst. He moved to a wall where there were few people. He bit the inside of his cheek as he wallowed in his embarrassment. Why must I act like this? Why did I act like that? Why was I so offended on behalf of someone I barely know? If it was anyone else, say one of his commanders, he would be miffed they were speaking ill of one of his associates; however, he would never react in the way he had just done. An associate is what Entrapta was, so why did simple petty words get such a rise out of him? Perhaps, subconsciously, he saw her as more than a work associate. Perhaps, he saw Entrapta as a friend? Utterly ridiculous! They had just met yesterday how could he have such a bond with her? Even though the two had similar interests, were able to keep up with each other verbally, and understood each other's goals and ideas does not mean they were friends. Were they? Gah! Curse his minuscule emotional range! No matter. He will continue as he did before. He did not want to jump to conclusions without Entrapta’s input.
Speaking of, where had the princess gone? Hordak served the crowd of sparkles, spotting the princess conversating with Scorpia. He was tempted to join the two, but he knew he shouldn’t. Entrapta had a scientific excursion to pursue, and he does not need to be a distraction. Besides, he has his work to do.

omg, thank y’all SO much for 3k!! that’s actually insane, and i couldn’t be more grateful (still have no idea why people follow me but i am NOT complaining). anyway, as thanks, i wrote a short little fic that’s just over 2k words. y’all know how in high school there’s always that one attractive history teacher who flirts with the entire English department? um. yeah. that’s...that’s it. high school teacher au🥴 if you like it, let me know if y’all would want a longer fic with this au, bc i kinda have some backstory and a little bit of a plot if i were to post to ao3 lmao. this is also slightly me projecting bc i will probably end up as an English teacher who is just trying to pay her bills while pursuing a career in writing😩✌🏼
**slight content warning, it gets a little spicy but only for a couple paragraphs and its nothing too bad imo lmao

Catra couldn’t wait to get home.
Some days just seemed to stretch on and on, feeling like a week instead of just twenty four hours, and today was one of those days.
Melog, her beloved cat, had woken her up screaming their head off for reasons Catra couldn’t place at five in the morning, she had spilled her Starbucks on her favorite sweater when she was headed into the school after slipping in a puddle, her shitty data and the shitty school WiFi were deciding to not work, so she couldn’t entertain herself with Twitter in between class periods, the obnoxious football players in her first period were more obnoxious than usual, and it was only second period. Thankfully, her third period was blessed with the first lunch block, and there was only about ten minutes left of class.
Her students were working on group projects over gothic short stories they had been studying all week while she graded essays from their test a month ago over Pride and Prejudice (listen, she was a busy woman, and she had about eighty students spread throughout her three classes—essays were a nightmare to grade). So far, she was pleasantly surprised at how good the essays were overall, at least in comparison to their last essay test. She made a mental note to talk to the head of the department about removing Catcher in the Rye from the required readings, or at least getting permission to not have to teach it because it just plain sucked. In all her years of teaching (all three of them), she had yet to meet a student who actually enjoyed that horrible book, and she didn’t know why it was even required.
“Hey, Ms. Horde?”
Catra looked up from her students’ essays at the table closest to her desk. The group of girls who sat there had grown rather fond of talking to their teacher instead of doing their actual work, and Catra had fallen victim from time to time, so she proceeded with caution. “Yes?”
The speaker, Abby, shared a smile with her friends, who all looked like they were on the brink of laughter or dying of embarrassment. She turned back to Catra. “I was hoping you could answer a question for me.” Catra raised her eyebrows, signaling her to continue. “See, Mina and Aarthi keep saying that you’re dating Ms. Grayskull, but Izzy and I don’t believe it.”
Not this again.
Her students and Adora’s students (which often overlapped) had been convinced for the longest time that they were seeing one another, never mind that it was weird for their students to be talking about that and moreso, invading their privacy by asking questions.
Catra narrowed her eyes at the four of them. “Even though it’s none of your business, it’s not true.”
“But she’s always coming down here to talk to you,” Aarthi spoke up, leaning forward. “And I’ve seen you come out of her room before.”
“Because we’re friends.” Catra had to snort. “People are allowed to be friends, aren’t they?”
“Well, yeah, but she definitely has a crush on you,” Mina insisted, eyes shining.
The bell was about to ring. Catra turned back to her desk and began organizing her area, if only to hide the way her cheeks pinkened at that. “Then that’s a shame, because there is no way I would date another teacher.”
“Why?”
“Because we don’t get paid enough and I plan on marrying rich, duh.” At least her bad sense of humor was still intact despite her crappy day. It even got her a few chuckles, and not just from the girls, but from some of the other tables where people were listening in. High schoolers were ridiculous; Catra wasn’t paid enough for this.
The bell trilled, quite literally saving Catra from more invasive questions about her love life and a certain blonde headed history teacher, and her second period filed out slowly. She waved at them and smiled at those who made eye contact, waiting until everyone was gone until she stood up.
Speaking of blonde history teachers, she had plans to eat her lunch with one that so happened to share the same lunch block as her. After a horrible start to her day, she could really use some encouragement from her favorite idiot.
Straightening her midi skirt and pushing her glasses up the bridge of her nose, Catra left her classroom with her packed lunch in hand, locking the door behind her.
Adora’s room was less than a minute up the stairs, in the same corner of the school as Catra’s room but upstairs and down one more hallway.
Catra said hi to a few teachers as she passed students headed to lunch and made a joking face at Glimmer, one of her and Adora’s friends and a psychology teacher. Glimmer wiggled her eyebrows in response, probably knowing exactly where Catra was headed. If there weren’t students in the halls, or cameras for that matter, she would’ve flipped off the pink-haired woman, but since there were, she just rolled her eyes and smiled. She was sure Glimmer was slightly jealous of her and Adora having classrooms so close; her boyfriend, their friend Bow, the head of the orchestra department, was on the opposite side of the school.
When Catra reached Adora’s room, there was a student in there asking Adora question after question, something that definitely wasn’t about history or politics. Not surprising, seeing as Adora loved to get off topic in her lectures. Honestly, how she managed to teach her kids anything was a mystery to Catra, considering how much they talked about the best restaurants in the town and why Chick Fil A was the worst fast food place to ever exist and god knows what else.
Adora glanced over at the doorway, eyes widening ever so slightly at the sight of Catra, who smirked at her. She cleared her throat and returned her attention to the student.
“Hey, I don’t mind talking about this,” she interrupted them mid-sentence, silencing them, “but can we pick it up tomorrow? If you have an actual question about the unit, I can answer it now, but if not, I really have some stuff I need to get done.”
The student looked over their shoulder at Catra, understanding washing over their features. “Of course. Thank you, Ms. Grayskull, and uh,” they paused as they began backing up and turning toward the door, “enjoy your lunch.”
Catra ignored the look they gave her and moved to sit on the edge of Adora’s desk. “Oh my god, you will not believe what this kid said to me this morning—”
The second she heard the door fall shut behind the student, she lunged forward, grabbing Adora by the front of her shirt and pulling her forward, meeting her in a harsh kiss.
Adora made a surprised noise in her throat, but didn’t hesitate to grip Catra’s waist and kiss her back with enthusiasm.
Oh, Catra needed this. She had practically been salivating just thinking about it all morning, and now the wait was over.
She ran a hand down Adora’s arm, goosebumps raising on her skin from feeling the hard muscle there. Catra had a dangerous thought, conjured up and discarded twice as fast because there was no way they could get away with it. But then again…
Adora protested when Catra broke the kiss, but immediately groaned when Catra yanked on her dumb ponytail, pulling her head back with it to give Catra the room she needed to absolutely destroy her neck. In places that her shirt could easily conceal, of course. Catra couldn’t imagine the kind of conversation that they would have with Angella, their boss, and also Glimmer’s mother, if a student remarked on the bruises on Adora’s neck.
“Catra, shit—” Adora gasped as Catra nipped at her collarbone, shirt having been unbuttoned just a little. “Babe, the door—it’s not locked.”
Of course it wasn’t.
Catra groaned in frustration and pulled back, glaring at Adora because she was mad at her for being right and having common sense, and stalked to the door to lock it and, just for good measure, let down the little curtain hanging over the tiny window frame. The faculty knew about them, most, anyway, but there were still some classes taking place, and Catra didn’t want a poor student to glance into the Teacher of the Year’s history classroom to see her being absolutely wrecked by the nerdy five foot nothing English teacher downstairs. Yeah, that would be traumatizing.
When she turned back to her girlfriend, who was leaning against the front of her desk and smiling softly at her, she scowled. “What?”
“Rough day?” Adora quirked her eyebrows up, smile widening.
Catra wasn’t sure if she hated or loved how well Adora knew her. Probably a mixture of both, depending on the day.
With a sigh, Catra slowly made her way back to Adora and melted into her open arms, burying her face in the hideous pattern of her button down. Adora always seemed to find the ugliest clothes, and she wore them just to piss off Catra. And because her students liked them for whatever reason, and Adora thrived on attention.
“Horrible,” Catra murmured, voice muffled by her shirt. “Can we do something tonight?”
“Anything you want.” Adora was rubbing soothing circles into Catra’s back, a kiss was pressed to the top of her head. Just like that, Catra felt about half of her day’s tension vanish.
She hummed against Adora. “Can we eat lunch here today, too?” Remembering her packed meal, she pulled back a little and glanced over Adora’s shoulder at where it had fallen to the ground in her attempt to get her lips on Adora.
Adora nodded, and it was settled.
They usually ate together everyday, sometimes in one of their rooms or in their cars after a quick fast food run or with their friends in the teacher’s lounge, but Catra loved it most when it was just the two of them, alone for a good forty minutes in the middle of their work days.
Catra had never planned on being a teacher, and she was only still one now because she needed a job while she pursued a career in writing. She had only been at this school for a few years, after Entrapta, her roommate and physics teacher, mentioned that there was an opening for a new English teacher.
When she first started working here, she and Adora couldn’t stand one another for a solid month. The amount of times Catra had to shut her door because Adora’s voice could be heard all the way from upstairs lecturing away, the way Adora was friends with literally everyone who worked in the building, the fact that half of the English department wanted to get in her pants (even Mrs. Stein, the forty something year old who was married and had three kids), and worst of all, Adora had just read SparkNotes instead of the actual book nine out of ten times when she was in school. She was cocky, and arrogant, and loud, and ridiculously fit, and really, really fucking hot.
But then Catra learned that she had grown up in the foster system as well, and suddenly all of those things were irrelevant because there was someone else who understood what it was like.
They started talking more, becoming fast friends who interrupted one another’s classes to do random shit and make the students laugh and hung out during their breaks, and as of last spring, started dating.
“I thought we were going to eat?” Adora watched Catra plop down in her lap instead of in the chair she pulled out so they could sit beside one another.
Catra simply wrapped her arms around her neck. “We have, what? Thirty minutes left? That’s ten minutes for mandatory stress-relieving making out and fifteen for eating.”
“And what about the remaining five?”
Smartass. “Cleaning up trash, fixing ourselves, just a safety net.”
“And how will we know when to transition from one thing to another?”
Okay now she was just trying to get on Catra’s nerves. Catra could threaten to leave, but time was ticking, and she really wasn’t in the mood for joking around. “A timer. Duh.”
So they set a timer, and Catra was more than happy to kiss her stress away.
Sure, she hadn’t planned on being a high school teacher, but she supposed teaching the next generation had its perks.
Perks that were five foot nine, lifted weights for fun, and made the worst jokes in the entire world.

Catra x twin!sister reader where reader travels in alot of planets to find her sister and when she landed on etheria she explored the whispering woods and found melog, with their help she found glimmer and she led her to her castle and she finally met her sister. Catra wasn't pleased about it thinking that her family abounded her she just pushes reader away and goes to her room. Reader stays and went to deal with catra. They talked (mostly arguing) and in the end catra and reader hugs and they became very dear friends.
(I'm basically making you a nicer version of Catra with super girl powers (which you don't use in the story) and Lena Luthor as your wife because why not. I am also putting everyone in their early to late 20s... I also forgot to add Melog :( sorry.)
"Space log, day... 2000?" You mumble as you speak into the recorder on your ship. "It's been... 4 years since my son was born. 8 years since my people finally fully integrated with the civilization of our sister planet. 10 years since I renounced my royal title. 12 years since I met the love of my life. 16 years since my home world was destroyed by the Horde and my parents were killed. And... 24 years since I have last seen my baby sister." You breath out, having lost hope after so many years of things going wrong. "Lena and Madden have stayed on the planet Oa while I explore this last planet. It appeared almost 2 years ago and was the last place the Horde had ever been. Who or whatever is on the planet must be powerful." "This... This will be the final planet I explore. I have no hope of seeing my sister again." God you were so tired of the disappointment you felt every time you couldn't find your sister. "Happy 26th birthday." You mumble out as you get closer to the new planet. "End log."
---
"This is spaceship Kr 97. Requesting permission to land. I repeat requesting permission to land." You spoke into your radio, hoping to hear anything back. Maybe this planet didn't have the technology yet for radios? "If anyone can hear me. My name is Y/n and I come in peace. I will be landing my ship on your planet and will wait 2 days before exploring on my own." You say into your radio before putting it back where it had been hanging and controlling your ship into the planets atmosphere. It was a little bit of a bumpy landing but you landed your ship just fine on the outskirts of what seemed to be a forest. You set a 48 hour alarm on your phone. You weren't sure how the people or creatures of the planet told time, so you just stuck with what you knew. It had kept you alive so far anyways.
"Alrighty." You say to yourself as you step off of your ship. You take a deep breath as you feel the yellow sun power you up. "48 hours, let's get to work."
---
You spent the next two days cleaning up in and around your spaceship, setting up a camp, and watching how the forest worked so you knew what you could eat and what you couldn't. You had been sitting on the ground relaxing when you hear your timer go off. You click the loud noise off and stand up, grabbing the bag you had prepared. While learning the forest, you had seen some villages that seemingly lead towards somewhere and you had decided that the best course of action was to hop from village to village to see if their was a kingdom or something of that nature that you could get into contact with. You just hoped everyone was nice and that this wouldn't be a hard planet to navigate.
---
The first town you enter seems to be a farming village. You can tell because you had to walk through fields and saw, what you assume, were the livestock on the planet. You stood behind some trees for a while as you assessed how the villagers acted. You watched as kids ran around playing with their friends, shopkeepers and homeowners leaving their windows open in the nice weather, clearly not scared of being robbed. You decide that it's safe enough to enter and you have your powers to back you up incase things go wrong. It was weird because the planet had 3 moons and only 1 sun, usually planets had the suns out number moons but it was enough. You fix your cloak over your ears and tuck them back so they wouldn't be noticeable or a defining characteristic if things went sideways.
You walk slowly through the village, having expected to get some attention from your large black robe. And you do get some curious looks but it's mainly all friendly smiles. You are almost halfway through the village, aiming to enter one of the shops and ask around, when a something hits your leg. You look down and see a ball a few inches in front of your foot. You pick it up, making sure to retract your claws, and hold it out to the toddler who was staring at you and his ball. "Here you go." You say to him as you hold the ball out and shake it a little so his attention goes to it. He waddles up to you and takes the ball from you. He stares at it for a few seconds before making motions with his hands, wanting you to hold him.
Without hesitating, you pick him up and hold him close to your chest. "Where is your mother, kitten?" You ask him as he reaches up to play with your ear that were still under your hood. "Kitty!" He squeals as he knocks the hood off your head and you hear an audible gasp from behind you. "Oh my gosh, Catra I am so sorry! We didn't think you were visiting till next week. We would have prepared a feast for you and the rest of the princesses." You turn around and see an elderly looking man, who's eyes widen at the sight of you. "Have you gotten taller and cut your hair again?" He asks confused. You give him a small smile, "I'm sorry but I'm not this Catra you speak of. Are you saying there is someone similar looking to me on your planet?" You ask and the man gives you a weird look when you call it his planet but slowly nods his head. You feel hope for the first time in years and eagerly ask the man if you could stay near the town till she came next week. He gave you a bit of a weird look, not sure who you were now and unsure of your intentions, even though your reaction was positive. "Sure."
---
After returning the toddler to his mother, you basically sprinted back to your ship in excitement. "Lena! Lena!" You shout happily into the radio on your ship. Time is a little different on the planet as the sun was just starting to set but it would already be completely dark on Oa. But by your clock it was only 9, so Lena and Madden should still be awake. "Y/n?" You hear your name crackle through the radio and a smile appears on your face. "Lena you'll never believe it! There is someone on this planet that supposedly looks just like me and vice versa!" You say into the radio, feeling like a kid on Nova day. "I think it's her... I hope its her." You say as you image seeing your sister again for the first time in 24 years. "I'm so happy for you y/n! We will start making preparations to join you soon." You bite your lip in thought. "Maybe you should wait... I just wouldn't want to overwhelm her, you know?" You can almost hear Lena nodding on the other end of the phone. "That makes sense, we'll plan to leave by the end of the week if everything goes well."
"Geez I love you so much." You mumble with a wide grin. "And Madden too. Is he still up?" "No he fell asleep a few minutes before you radioed, he spent all day playing." "Oh well, tell him I love him and I'll radio back in the morning." "Okay, bye." "Bye."
---
"We need to be very careful about this." Glimmer says as she and the best friend squad enter the village who sent a letter the day before about someone who looked like Catra in their village. "We already knew that there were other people out there but as we already know not all of them are friendly." Catra walks next to Adora, numbly nodding along. Could this be it? Could she finally learn where she came from? Everyone else in the Horde had been born into it and Adora had come through a portal but no one really knew where Catra was from. "Are you okay?" Adora asked as she squeezed Catra's hand, nervous at how silent her girlfriend was. Catra just mutely nods back.
---
"This planet is simply marvelous!" The group hears you laugh out after being greeted by the village leader. "They look almost just like you Catra." Bow comments as they watch your tall figure move around as you play with the kids of the village and let them climb all over you. "Y/n!" You hear someone call your name and turn to see the village leader standing with a group of people and... Catra. They watch as you freeze and let your mouth fall open in shock. You set the kids down and encourage them to go play together. You walk towards the group with a smile. You go down the line of friends shaking their hands and introducing yourself, ignoring their looks of surprise, before finally reaching Catra. "Wow..." You breathe out in absolute awe. You can feel your eyes get misty the longer you stare at her. "You look so much like mom." You say with a watery laugh that completely sets Catra off.
"Who are you?" She asks as she pushes her finger into your chest making you take a step back. "What? Catra, I'm your sibling. I thought the similarities would make that clear." She glares at you and you can feel the whole village watching the interaction. "Just because we look similar doesn't mean anything." You move quickly and grab her right hand and hold it up next to your left one, both birthmarks showing.
Tumblr media
You watch as Catra freezes. Her face and body come to a complete stop as her eyes flicker between the identical birthmarks and your face. "I know you must have questions and I do too. But I have spent the last 8 years going all across the galaxy looking for you and right now all I want is a hug... Please?" You get out as you let go of Catra's hand only for her to push you away one last time and storm into a temporary tent that had been set up for the best friend squad.
You take a second to take a breath before following after her. "I wouldn't follow after her, she needs time to cool down." A blonde, Adora, said to you as she placed a hand on your should to stop you. "I've dealt with people with anger issues before." You say as you brush her hand off. "I know how to handle this." You say and walk towards the tent again, not giving anyone a chance to stop you.
---
"You can't hide away in here sister." You say as you enter the tent, dodging a pillow that was thrown at your head. "Don't call me that." She mumbled angrily. "And why not, you are my sister are you not? I mean everyone saw the birth mark." Catra stands up angrily. "If you were my sister, you would have spent longer than 8 years looking for me! And how can you even compare me to this "mom" that I know absolutely nothing about!? Where are they anyways, huh? Where's great old mom and dad that I have spent the last 25 years not knowing about!" She unloads onto you and your feel your heartbreak at how disheveled she looked. You shouldn't have assumed everything would be smiles and laughs when the two of you first met.
"26." "Huh?" "You're... We're 26. Our birthday was 2 days ago." "So I don't even know my own birthday!" Catra explodes. "Get out." She says suddenly and quietly. "What?" "I said get out." She repeats and you shake your head at her. "I'm not leaving." You watch as Catra's hair stand up. "I am giving you one last warning, get out now or I will do something I might not regret." You cross your arms and stare her down. "I have spent the last 8 years planet hopping with my family looking for you. I. Am. Not. Leaving."
Catra jumps at you suddenly, attempting to scratch, hit, kick, do anything to make you leave the tent. Instead of doing what she wanted, you just wrapped her in a tight hug and sat on the ground. You stay like that for a while, her trying to hold back sobs and angry tears before finally letting go and you just rubbing circles on her back to try and calm her down. "Why?" Is all she says after almost an hour of being in that position. "Why what?" "Why now?" You let out a sad sigh at her question. "Mom and Dad are dead, killed by the Horde Prime and his followers when I was 10." You can feel Catra flinch at how blunt you were and the fact that she had worked for the Horde only a few years ago. "You had already been missing for 8 years at that point, multiple search teams being sent out but none could find you." You squeeze Catra tighter as you feel yourself relive all the grief that you carried for the past 16 years.
"I managed to get most of our people off the planet and to our sister planet before the Horde completely destroyed everything. Got everyone situated on that planet, met the love of my life, renounced my claim to any throne, and finally I started looking for you." It's silent for a few minutes as Catra absorbed everything you said. "So..." You asked as you wiped your tears off your face. "What about you?"
You and Catra spent the rest of the night and next day sharing stories about your childhood and how differently but similar the two of you had grown up. You even got to tease her about Adora and the fact that you were, technically, her older sister by 2 minutes. You were also very excited when you got to show Catra around the ship you had taken to get to Etheria.
---
"So I am guessing everything went well?" Lena asked over the radio after you finally called her about coming to Etheria. "It was a little rocky at the beginning but we smoothed things over... She's great Lena, you guys are gonna love each other." You say with a giant smile on your face as you look at Catra who was relaxing in the copilot seat next to you.
