Decided to try something more sketchy and less perfect...because I have a really bad habit of perfectionism lol. And something that isn't perfect is Psychonauts! I haven't played Psychonauts since I was a kid so this nostalgia trip was fun. Gloria is such an interesting character.
I'm sad they didn't touch on the asylum inmates in the second game :(

Remember Gloria? Brown cap, denim jacket? Brian didn’t… 🤦🏻♂️

Remember Walter?
Starz
Walter Woodcock.
There wasn't anything I could do. I just sat there and held his hand. Saved his life only to watch him die.
Sometimes a hand in the dark is the comfort a man needs before his soul takes its final journey.
— Conversation between Jamie and Claire, S07E06 Where The Waters Meet Transcript
Walter was married to Mercy. We readers met Mercy Woodcock in An Echo In The Bone, Chapter 48
The pleasant-faced black woman was hovering at the door, a sharp eye on Grey.
“This man says he’s your uncle, Henry. Is that so?”
Henry nodded, panting a little. “Lord John … Grey. May I pre … sent Mrs. Mercy Wood… cock?”
Grey bowed punctiliously, feeling slightly ridiculous.
“Your servant, madam.”
Later, in Chapter 58, Lord John mistakenly thinks Walter still breathes.
Pleasant Mrs. Woodcock undeniably was, and just as undeniably rather too fond of Henry for a married woman—though her husband was a rebel, Henry had told him, and God knew when or whether he might return. Well enough; there was no danger of Henry losing his head and marrying her, at least. He could imagine the scandal, should Henry bring home a carpenter’s widow, and she a sable enchantress, to boot. He grinned at the thought and felt more charitable toward Mercy Woodcock. She had, after all, saved Henry’s life.
To date, we’ve seen no Season 7B photos of Gloria as Mercy. 🤷🏻♂️ Here’s a look at her in other productions.

Remember when Claire Fraser and Frank Randall met Mercy Woodcock at the theatre?
Thanks to @harriethattie for the reminder (via a comment on another post). And thanks to @booamie who identified my HUGE blunder. 🙈

Day 74 - 1/11/2022
Number 91:
[Raz has chased the Phantom through the catwalks. He is now jumping around the theater])
Raz: OK, Mr. Phantom. It's time to see who you...really...are?
[The Phantom returns to Jasper's box and removes his mask, somehow gaining a great deal of weight in the process. Raz realizes that Jasper is, in fact, the Phantom!]
Raz: I so totally guessed that!
Actress: Uh-uh! You thought it was Becky!
Raz: Shhhh! [Goes over to Jasper] All right, Jasper! I know you're the one who's been causing all of the problems around here.
Jasper: WHAT? why I never. How dare you accuse me of being the rugged and romantic scoundrel, who has thrilled and captivated audiences for years?
Raz: Yeah, I guess you're right. He's so agile and limber and...thin. He could never be you.
[Pause. Jasper blinks in shock.]
Jasper: Why, you little...OF COURSE IT'S ME!
Raz: Well, time to hang up the cape, Tubs, because your days of terrorizing this theater are over!
Jasper: Maybe as the Phantom...but he's nothing compared to the full, destructive force of an angry critic!
[His chair flies into the air, becoming a floating weapon]
Raz: Now, how can I say this and still sound cool...uh... 'sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me?'

Gloria's dad thinks she can only do "naughty" things after 11pm, so that was her curfew, but late-night activities can happen anytime of the day.
Gloria Rabil is a storyteller, writer, and writing coach/editor who grew up in North Carolina but has called Austin home for a few decades. When she's not coaching storytellers or helping writers develop their projects, you can find her planning her next adventure or enjoying a good show from the comfort of her living room.
