just like how in spanish you add -azo to the end of a word to make it big and powerful, in english you add “gun”

I burnt myself today and had a proper wound and the wound was leaking clear watery stuff and I kept wiping it away
until my friend told me that the water is actually my white bloodcells trying to help clean the cut and create a scab to heal me
and now I feel bad for my white bloodcells.
like all they're trying to do is help me and make sure my burn dosent get infected and I'm wiping them away.
After all they're doing for me I'm so mean to them
I didn't know what they were I'm sorry
(now I'm crying over CELLS)

So, a while ago I bought a cheap glue gun at TEDi because I was crafting a ton and thought "Why not make my life easier and give this tool a spin?"
And because this was my first time using it, I got impatient at one point and broke something inside, which stopped the trigger from working. So, after a quick trip to the store to get another one, I decided to see what this broken one looks like on the inside, and, if I can figure out what exactly I managed to break.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
First of all, woah this looks cool! Love seeing what stuff looks like on inside!
Second, it seems the plastic connected to the metal spring was under too much stress and heat, so the part clasped onto the trigger tore off.
There's no way I'm gonna try to fix it, I opened it up purely for curiosity. The wires and all that fun stuff has to go.
What I will do though, is be more patient with the new glue gun, and probably look into getting a better one.
...aaaaaand I am gonna repurpose the housing. I am getting into cosplay, and I have a feeling this thing will come in handy. >:3
And here are the comparison pics between the old and new one, and a pic of how the housing was held together!

OBSESSED! How to make EASY coffee filter flowers!
What you will need:
depending on how many you need - buy cheap white coffee filters or maybe the natural ones (experiment!)
food color
scissors
string
Glue or glue gun
Optional: floral tape, floral wire, paper lantern
buy white coffee filters (the cheap ones!!)
take the filters out of package and flatten them
fold about 5 in half and cut the top in a wavy pattern
it takes about 5-10 filters that have been cut to make flower
set aside cut filters
take the string and hang like a cloths hanger
fill a bowl (or however many bowls you need) with warm water
put drops of food color into each bowl to color the water as light or as dark as you would like the flowers to be
take about 5-10 coffee filters, flatten them out (does not have to be perfect) and soak in water until they are wet and dyed
squeeze most of the water gently out of them
hang them to dry
when completely dry separate into piles of 5 or 10
Use scissors to cut a small slit in the top of each filter layer, about 1/2 inch deep. Repeat this process for each pile of filters
stack them on top of each other, alternating the direction of the petals to create a full-looking flower
using glue, glue bottom to next layer, twisting and gently pressing, repeat until all filters are glue together. Fluff and shape to get desired look.
I even tried using tried using different scissors. My favorite was pinking shears.
REALLY COOL: put some food coloring without water on little plates and use to paint the out side of the petals! Or color the inside!
(Optional) Wrap floral tape around the base of the flower and the string to create a cleaner look. (Optional) Insert a floral wire into the base of the flower and wrap with floral tape to create a stem. (Optional) Attach the flower to a paper lantern or use it as a decoration on its own.
And there you have it! Easy coffee filter flowers that you can make in any color you like.
I hope you post pixs!

I know how it is. You gradually pick up some glitter glue here and some magic gems there, just for a rainy day project. You never know when you might need it! But next thing you know you’re overflowing with witchcraft supplies.
Ghibli-like clutter can be pretty fun to design but it’s pretty time consuming to clean. Both with ink and in real life.
I still have a few spooky surprises up my sleeve soon but this’ll probably be the last art piece I’ll put up before the 31st. Happy Halloween! 🎃
You can buy this design on t-shirts, mugs, prints, and plenty of other cool stuff here on Redbubble:

There’s a show in Britain (for all the non British folk out there) that’s called the Great British Sewing Bee (I think the country involved is obvious from the title).
I’m slowly working my way through with my mum, because it’s something we both enjoy, and the finale of season 2 was watched tonight.
In the last outfit of the final, one of the judges criticised a finalist for using a hot glue gun to put flowers on her dress, saying that you should never use a hot glue gun on a dress.
Then there was me and my mum, laughing at the screen, because I bought a hot glue gun today for the express purpose of putting these sparkles on a skirt for my mum

Tips for avoiding hot glue burns and glue gun explosions 101
(As someone who has second degree burned themselves with hot glue)
1. Try to avoid using hot glue when you're wearing shorts and short sleeves or sparse clothing in general. That's how it happened to me!
2. Don't put big gobs of burning hot glue on the thing you're glueing all at once. Take it a little at a time. (That's also how it happened to me!)
3.If you manage to get some on yourself when it's very hot, don't pull it off right away. It will hurt, I know! But peeling it off as soon as possible will take a lot of your skin with it. Believe me, I did it and regretted it! Just wait until it dries.
4. DO NOT leave the glue gun plugged in for long periods of time. Always remember to unplug it! This saves glue and keeps it from overheating. Please, for the love of everything that's holy, do not forget to unplug the hot glue gun. Hot glue guns can and will explode if left plugged in! PLEASE UNPLUG THEM. THE AMOUNT OF TIMES PEOPLE HAVE LEFT THEM PLUGGED IN IN THE CHEMISTRY ROOM AT MY SCHOOL OMG.
5. If you're gluing something together that requires you to press down on very close to the glue, try to use an object like small safety scissors or even the glue gun to pres it down and hold it there. This helps not to get the glue on the tips of your fingers if it's particularly hot. (I do this a lot).

An angry (or sulking) tribble lamp? I couldn't have that lampshade in my house, it collects too much dust, but an impressive DIY anyway. By unknown, found via Painted by Prestige.
