Crowley: Okay. Hypothetically speaking, how mad would you be if I burned a hot pocket so badly it could probably fall off a ten-story building and be completely fine?
Aziraphale: Crowley, what did you do?
Crowley: Take a guess.

[Start ID: Drawing of Crowley and Aziraphale (Good Omens) gazing into each others eyes while they hold each other. Aziraphale closes his eyes. Their foreheads meet. Crowley leans into the contact, still gazing at his angel. He looks besotted. /End ID.]

“Traversing the Asteroid Belt”
Crowley and the Universe, illustration 2.
Also there’s some behind the scenes stuff under the cut
This piece took me 39 hours and 58 minutes!!! Not just because of so much detailing that I had to do, but also because I did a major repaint 2 times…..
This was the first attempt, I didn’t like how the asteroids turned out and also the piece was too dark….. I usually draw in the evening with the lights off before going to bed. So the piece looks okay in the dark, but in the morning it all bites me in the ass, because apparently I can’t see shit!
The second attempt was lighter in tone, more colourful and I finally figured out the technique for the background asteroids. But when I started painting the foreground ones, it just felt… odd. As if it was too over complicated for this illustration. So I had to think again about how will I manage this. I’m satisfied with the final solution, though.
In the end, it was a very demanding piece, but I’m happy that I didn’t give up! It turned out good I think!
