Whenever I get emotionally stressed I relapse into unhealthy habits (bad eating habits, staying up way too late, increasing screentime) but gardening is definitely helping. There’s still good things though: the sky is blue, flowers are blooming, my plant is growing strawberries, and I have time to paint ✨Alhamdulillah 🌙
We like to talk about reading comprehension a lot on this site but no one in the history of humankind has worse reading comprehension than the people who were convinced to join the military because of the metal gear games.
Welcome... I read every bit of the military/PTSD story on your page, it was long, but an eyeopener for me. Thank you for your service @earl-jr Much love and respect.
Starting to realize that the reason I beef with Transformers canon and fanon is because it feels as if a lot of people involved either haven't read war stories as a genre or they haven't paid attention to real-life wars so their takes on "necessary evils" or "hypocrisy" or "pacifism" come off as overly simplistic
Honestly, Fowler is the only thing standing between the Autobots and the American Government who'd happily deconstruct them and I think we should talk about it more, because outside of MECH Arcs, it's kinda glossed over. Like they're a pushy relative instead of a governing entity.
Anon I literally love you for giving me the excuse to ramble about it because you have no idea how long and hard I've been thinking about it. Genuenly thank fuck for Fowler because I do think there would have been people out there who, upon being put in his position, would do everything in their power to just fuck the Autobots over as much as possible as long as it would benefit the government.
Like, the Autobots are in a VERY bad place. They're working with the United States Government in exchange for being able to stay there. And I have no doubt that they could take care of themselves on their own, but once they made the deal... I'm not sure how they could just walk out of it.
I can imagine the government trying to force the Autobots to do their dirty work under the threat of breaking the deal. I mean, they have huge robots with vast military training and experience practically at their disposal- something that I'd imagine other countries and the vast majority of the world wide population doesn't know about. They would be pretty much invincible. Getting the Autobots to agree is the only issue that has yet to be resolved, and they have leverage. They can threaten the team, manipulate them- hell, they could have literally just taken them apart.
em i love this. antiope!mary, with her quiver of exploding arrows, absolutely begging shannon to have a single emotionally intelligent non-self sacrificial bone in her body. literally grabbing her by the shoulders trying to get her to have a reaction to serious things that isn’t closed-off stoicism (bc shannon isn’t superficially yelle, she’s not an outwardly groovy stoner funguy, but it's a different expression of the same thing, of throwing herself so hard into a Cause, and into the protection of her friends, to the point where she has accepted she has no worth beyond it). mary!antiope pleading please care about your own life, your own life, your own life—the world is better with you in it, the best thing that you can do for the world isn't die.
(please. i love you. i don't want you to fucking die.)
People are being priced out of food, people are losing Medicaid coverage, people are going to lose the meager crumbs that is the SSI the government is so gracious to give the disabled, no one can afford a house and rent keeps going up, but GOD ALMIGHTY our seven hundred billion dollar defense budget MUST be increased or else the commies win! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I have a headache (continues blasting spotify into my earballs bc the alternative is worse) (the alternative is Fireworks) (Fireworks is capitalised bc these are some real Big Boy Explody Devices and they're happening On My Fucking Block)
as someone who has lived in multiple military towns & college towns each militsry towns have such fucking bad drivers. like yeah college towns have a lot of inexperienced drivers but military town drivers have such a level of bubbling under the surface malice. anecdotal evidence yeah but i saw more crashes in military areas than anywhere else. and they're SOOO fucking rude on the road just car-body-language-wise
leap of faith is such. an episode. they said we’re gonna give al even MORE of a tragic backstory as if he didn’t have enough already. like let’s throw in some religious trauma too (pt 1 cause you know theres gonna be more of that). okay then we’re gonna make sam a priest. obviously. right then we’re gonna fucking kill sam. but he’s okay god won’t let him die. meanwhile theres this fucking priest trying to murder a bitch. and it’s not quantum leap if we’re not weirdly racist to italians so let’s put some of that in there. what a show
