Me a few days ago: “isn’t it interesting that the main ‘villains’ of greek mythology retellings tend to be Apollo, Zeus, Hera, Ares, and Hades? I wonder why Hermes or Dionysus is never the villain.”

Because if Hermes or Dionysus was ever the villain, the main protagonist would be guaranteed not to survive. In fact it would be so incredibly boring because the main protagonist would die in the middle of the first paragraph.
