how much do the demigods really know about Percy?
Frank and Hazel first knew him as just a guy who showed up with a goddess on his back. everything he does from that point onward is equally bizarre, and certainly impressive, but perhaps not exactly legend-worthy. by the time they’ve won the battle against Polybotes at New Rome, their experience with him confirms he’s a badass, but the hints and jokes he drops about his past can’t all be real, right?
Jason, Leo, and Piper would have been showered in stories at Camp Half-Blood. did you know, Percy fought and killed a Kindly One and the Minotaur before he even got to Camp the first time? did you know, he was the first one on our side to suspect Kronos was rising? did you know, he revealed who poisoned Thalia’s Tree? did you know, he and Annabeth held the sky? did you know he crashed his own funeral? did you know he made a hurricane?
did you know, did you know, did you know?
but how many of Percy’s stories do the campers really know? what did Annabeth and Percy keep to themselves in their retellings? do they know Luke forced Percy to fight to the death in an arena? were they told Percy actively chose to be the subject of the prophecy to protect Nico, who almost certainly hated him at that point? do they know Percy was the reason Mount Saint Helens erupted? do they know he fought Hades and his army, and won?
the campers all think Percy is a legend, but when they find out there’s more? that’s when they start to think of him as a god.

You were born with too many gifts. That sort of power tends to burn out a mortal life.
Iris' words, uttered what seemed like millennia ago, echoed in his ears till all he could hear was that.
Frank supposed Iris had a point; Percy had been too powerful, too charismatic, too inhuman. He had blazed through an entire army like a hurricane, tearing everything to pieces with a mad sort of gleam in his unearthly eyes that made Frank want to duck his head. Percy was a storm, Percy was the calm sea, he was a riptide, a slow current. Percy was... Percy.
It shouldn't have surprised Frank when Percy sauntered out of those doors with too sharp teeth and too bright eyes, gold dust on his cheekbones and gold blood in his veins. He had looked wild, then, his chin length hair pulled back into several tens of little braids and the white streak a stark contrast against the rest of his pitch black locks.
Percy's power had burned through his humanity to leave behind a God.
Frank had always known Percy was meant for more. He had heard the rumours, of course; Percy denying immortality so he could stay with Annabeth, Percy denying immortality again when Poseidon offered it a second time. But that didn't change the fact that Percy was destined for more.
Percy was, for better or for worse, whether he wanted to be or not, a God. He was the most deserving of divinity out of everyone that had ever existed.

Been thinking about what Percy would be the god of had he accepted the offer of immortality. Most people say he would be a god of destruction or a god of poison based off his name or what he did to Akhlys.
I have a different idea though, although it might come a little out of left field at first: God of Beaches.
First of all, it’s a callback to Montauk Beach, where Sally met Poseidon (and presumably conceived Percy). Percy also battled Ares on a beach, emphasizing that as a place of power for him.
More than that, though, beaches are where the ocean meets the land. They’re boundaries, but fluid and ever changing ones. A good representation of how Percy straddles the mortal and godly worlds. He doesn’t represent hard boundaries like Terminus, but transition across them, just like how waves from the ocean was up on the shore.
At the same time, the beach is the most dangerous place to be in the event of a storm or tsunami. Hurricanes only threaten large groups of people when they cross from sea to land, and the rising slope of the seabed pushes tsunami swells into giant waves of deadly force. You definitely don’t want to get in Percy’s way when he’s angry.
The beach is a good representation for Percy. Inviting and friendly, but deadly if provoked. A place at the edge of the land and the beginning of the sea, where Percy, who clings to his mortality, would hang out. A place where the power of the ocean is evident in the eroded sand beneath your feet, even when the waters are calm and the waves small.

God Percy and Mr. D's interactions like 200 years after the events of the series would be so funny, like they hate each other sm but they're also the only ones who get their vibe. Like they can make fun of the new demigods, but the second a born god makes fun of a demigod they're like "HEY!?"
They'll sit there and make the worst comments about each other ("remember when you killed micheal yew?" "remember when your son died?"). But the SECOND someone else tries to make a comment they're like "fuck you man :/"
(Chiron is so fucking tired)

Son of Metis fic continuation
Given that I recently have dove into the Trials of Apollo fandom (despite not yet having managed to a) read the books or b) finish the Heroes of Olympus series), I am adding a little bit onto the original storyline.
Apollo definitely knows that Athena’s been hiding her baby brother since the day she emerged from Zeus’s head.
Apollo told Artemis and the two have been discretely watching and nudging things to train the boy for his future as their king for the last 12 years—and covering for Athena.
Zeus, as is shown in the Trials of Apollo series (and the parallels made between Zeus and Nero) is a horrible parent and not a good king.
Which leads me to the forth thing: Apollo, who given that he has some hope for things to finally change is able to admit that his father is awful, is (along with Artemis) definitely planning a coup to replace Zeus with Perseus once he is ready.

Hi!! 🧠 do you have any headcannons about Percy becoming a god?
Well, I'm sucker of the Percy is becoming a god because the Olympians force him to become one. It can go three ways,
1, They think Percy is too much of a wildcard, he needs to become a god, become one of them to avoid him leading a rebellion. He has too many powerful friends, and since he wouldn't have Kronos behind him who is the bigger evil compared to the gods, the demigods would be more likely to join him. So, they avoid it by forcing him to become a god.
2, Poseidon becomes so obsessed with not allowing his favorite son to die, so he turns him against his wishes. (Oops, that's literally the base of one of my fics xD)
3, The god who he is with doesn't understand that he wants to stay mortal, that he wants to live and to die, so they bond Percy to themselves, forcing him to become immortal. And that is, honestly, the biggest betrayal. (And the perfect ground for so. Much. Angst 😈)

fic rec! 3.4K featuring god!Percy
Summary: Percy meets his friends on the battlefield and they all know he’s unbeatable, even alone. And he is alone, even with the sea and the earth and the blessing of the Styx and the blood in their veins- he can tell they think he’s gone as mad as Luke.
Comments: What really makes me love this is the subtle clues that with the defeat of Gaia, all that power went to Percy. And it makes him play a long game. Not as long as Gaia, but he bids his time and makes smart choices until it's time to announce it.

God Percy fic
my soul opposes fate with daily will
Percy defies fate and becomes a god because of it, but if there's one good thing to come out of it, it's the new friendship he's somehow found himself in with a certain sun god..

i havent read or actively been in the percy jackson since maybe 2017/2018, but i really do wish there were more ACTUALLY good god/god killer percy fanfiction on AO3. I see plenty on Fanfiction dot net, but I refuse to use that website ever again even if I only have fond memories of it. I just cannot navigate it anymore 😭😭😭
ANYWAYS. if i remembered how to write i would definitely write a "percy becomes a god" au where percy almost d words and poseidon turns him into a minor god of loyalty and demigods or smth (yeah thats cliche but it's also fun for a reason). Maybe I would even throw in some god killer nico di angelo 😌 just because

The best part of the percy jackson books is that from percy's perspective hes just an easygoing funny cool guy who seems pretty harmless but the moment you see him from someone elses pov hes terrifying. Just a crazy good fighter, a force of nature killing machine, literally gets mistaken for a god in disguise. But he doesnt see that side of himself at all because hes too busy arguing with authority figures and respecting women. I love him
