“By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence.” —2 Peter 1:3 (NLT)
“What Does 2 Peter 1:3 Mean?” By Dailyverse.knowing-jesus.com:
“The position and privileges that are ours in Christ Jesus and all that we will ever need to live a godly life which is pleasing to the Lord, were given to us as a free gift of God's grace. Freely given through the merit of Christ's sacrificial death at Calvary and because of His omnipotent, divine power.
As His children, we are called to live a life of godliness, to live our life in spirit and truth, and to live in total dependence upon our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. But it is only through His divine power that we have been equipped by God to live such a godly life, for we have been imputed with Christ's righteousness, indwelt by Christ's Holy Spirit, identified with all His goodness and grace, and have been accepted by the Father in the Beloved, by grace through faith in Him.
It is only by God's divine power that we were saved through faith in Christ's sacrificial work at Calvary, and it is only by God's divine power that we are enabled to live our Christian life as unto the Lord. It is God's divine power that saves the sinner, and God's divine power that energises the saint to live a godly life. It is by God's divine power that we were saved from the penalty of sin and it is also by His divine power that we are saved from the power of sin in our lives.
All that pertains to life and godliness in a believer is achieved through the ministry of the Holy Spirit within our heart and the intercessory ministry of our great High Priest in heaven, for it is God Who works in us, to equip each believer to mature in the faith, to grow in grace, and to come into a fuller and deeper knowledge of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. For without Christ, we can do nothing, but we can do all things through Christ Who equips us with His divine power.
We have not been called, chosen, redeemed, and accepted because of our own merit - but by His glory, His goodness, His virtue, and His grace. And we are called to share in His glory and be clothed in His righteousness as children of God and joint-heirs with Christ.
Let us never forget that our heavenly position and privileges are ours in Christ Jesus Who, by His divine power has given us everything that is needed for life and godliness. And let us never forget that all that we are and all that we have is because of His glory, His goodness, and His grace. He laid aside His glory so that He could call us out of darkness into His marvellous light.
My Prayer: Heavenly Father, How I praise and thank You that I have been called out of darkness into Your glorious light. By Your divine power I have been called, chosen, redeemed, accepted, and equipped to live the godly life that You desire of me. I have been imputed with Christ’s righteousness, in-dwelt by the Holy Spirit, identified with all His goodness and grace, and accepted by the Father, in the Beloved. May I live a life that is worthy of my high calling and in everything give You all honour and praise. In Jesus' name, AMEN.”🙏🕊🙌

The way to godly living is surprisingly simple: We are to walk with God in His appointed way (Micah 6:8), diligently using the means of grace and the spiritual disciplines, and waiting upon the Holy Spirit for blessing. Note that godly living involves both discipline and grace. This emphasis upon duty and grace is fundamental to Reformed, experiential thinking on godly living.

DAVID ARMS HIMSELF
1 Samuel 17:40 And he took his staff in his hand and chose him five smooth stones out of the brook, and put them in a shepherd's bag which he had, even in a scrip; and his sling was in his hand: and he drew near to the Philistine.
FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT OF FAITH
1 Timothy 6:11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

We’ve let the devil make fornication a monster in our heads, because it’s ruined so many in the world. We’ve made our ability to have sex outside of marriage greater than living inside of the love of Jesus. We have what we believe. If we believe that purity, loving each other in peace, pursuing the things that lead to edification, healing and good fruit is more pleasurable, then that’s what we’ll begin to live. If we allow the world to convince us that feeling insecure about our body, looking to find physical importance through someone else’s is where we will feel happy and at peace, then that’s what we will live.
Lust doesn’t exist in a Christian relationship. It can if we make room for it, but the bible says to see younger women as sisters, with all purity, and a man’s wife is his sister in the Lord. She is a daughter of God. As a daughter, the reason why you want to marry a godly man or be with him isn’t for sexual reasons, to feel more beautiful, to feel more attractive or wanted. When you look at a man of God, when you listen to his heart, it’s not about being okay with yourself again. Jesus does that. The reason why you keep on choosing him is because you believe that God put him in your life to love you as Christ loved the church and you can honestly begin to trust and yield yourself to that love and not worry about it hurting you in the end.
Daughter of God, you are more than needing loved. You are more than needing looked at for your physical appearance. You’re more than fleshly desire. There’s a man for you, who God put around you to be the full expression of Jesus’ love to you in all purity, and God will show you who that man is. But also know that your worth is more than intimacy outside of marriage. Your worth is more than someone craving you. You DESERVE someone living godly toward you and loving you from a pure heart in God’s eyes and you should want that. You shouldn’t want anything less. You shouldn’t tell yourself you have to settle for anything less just to not feel alone. Don’t worry about how—just know that God has you in mind. He will never forget about you.

Get Up.
Wash your face, brush your teeth, take a shower. And talk to God.
Pray. Clean your space. Take care of your body, eat well. Talk to your loved ones.
And pray.

We are called to dress modestly. Keep in mind that it’s not what we might wear that’s important, rather it’s our devotion to God (1 Timothy 2:9-10; 1 Peter 3:3-4). And as Paul said, if you “[make] a claim to godliness” you will obey the simple instruction to “adorn [yourself] in modest apparel, with propriety and moderation.”
We live in a world that lives for the exaltation of self. They post selfies of their weight loss, beach vacation, relaxing by the pool, etc., wearing very little to no clothes, all in an attempt to draw attention to themselves. As Christians, we should not draw attention to our bodies in such a manner. We should not cause a brother or a sister in Christ to stumble, by causing them to lust.
Freedom in Christ is never freedom to sin, nor the freedom to cause others to sin.
Beware of what you do and how it may be perceived by others.

Woe to the City of David
1 Woe to Ariel, to Ariel, the city where David lived! Add year to year, observe your feasts on schedule. 2 Yet I will distress Ariel, and she shall be a city of lamenting and sorrow, and she shall be as an Ariel to me. 3 I will encamp against you all around, and will lay siege against you with a mound, and I will raise forts against you. 4 You shall be brought down, and shall speak from the ground, and from the dust where you are prostrate your speech shall come; your voice shall also be as that of a ghost from the ground; and your speech shall whisper from the dust.
5 Moreover the multitude of your enemies shall become like fine dust, and the multitude of the ruthless ones as chaff which blows away; and it shall happen in an instant, suddenly. 6 You shall be punished from the Lord of Hosts with thunder and earthquake and loud noise, with storm and tempest, and the flame of a devouring fire. 7 The multitude of all the nations who fight against Ariel, even all who fight against her and her stronghold, and who distress her, shall be as a dream of a night vision. 8 It shall even be as when a hungry man dreams, and he eats; but when he awakens, his hunger is not satisfied; or as when a thirsty man dreams, and he is drinking; but when he awakens, he is faint, and his thirst is not quenched; so shall the multitude of all the nations be who fight against Mount Zion.
9 Be delayed and wait, blind yourselves and be blind. They are drunk, but not with wine. They stagger, but not with strong drink. 10 For the Lord has poured out on you the spirit of deep sleep and has closed your eyes, the prophets; and He has covered your heads, the seers.
11 The whole vision will be to you as the words of a book that is sealed, which when they deliver it to one who is learned, saying, “Read this, please,” he shall say, “I cannot, for it is sealed.” 12 Then the book shall be delivered to him who is not learned, saying, “Read this, please.” And he shall say, “I cannot read.”
13 Therefore, the Lord said:
Because this people draw near with their mouths and honor Me with their lips, but have removed their hearts far from Me, and their fear toward Me is tradition by the precept of men, 14 therefore I will once again do a marvelous work among this people, even a marvelous work and a wonder; for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hidden.
15 Woe to those who deeply hide their counsel from the Lord and whose works are done in the dark, and they say, “Who sees us?” and “Who knows us?” 16 Surely you turn things upside down! Shall the potter be esteemed as the potter’s clay? Shall what is made say to its maker, “He did not make me”? Or shall the thing formed say to him who formed it, “He has no understanding”?
17 Is it not yet a very little while before Lebanon shall be turned into a fruitful field, and the fruitful field shall be counted as a forest? 18 And on that day the deaf shall hear the words of a book, and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity and darkness. 19 The meek also shall increase their joy in the Lord, and the poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel. 20 For the ruthless shall come to nothing, and the scorner will be consumed, and all who are intent on doing iniquity shall be cut off— 21 those who cause a man to be indicted by a word, and lay a snare for him who reproves in the gate, and turn aside the righteous with meaningless arguments.
22 Therefore thus says the Lord, who redeemed Abraham, concerning the house of Jacob:
Jacob shall not now be ashamed, nor shall his face now turn pale; 23 but when he sees his children, the work of My hands, in his midst, they shall sanctify My name and sanctify the Holy One of Jacob, and fear the God of Israel. 24 Those also who err in spirit shall know the truth, and those who murmured shall accept instruction. — Isaiah 29 | Modern English Version (MEV) The Holy Bible, Modern English Version.
