Tonight while making the drive back to my college I spent some one on one time talking to God.
I can remember in high school, it was the long drives back home from work every night throughout my busy weeks where I began to talk to God.
And it was those talks that lead me to surrender my life to Him.
I talk to God pretty often throughout my days, but there’s just always been something really special to me about late night, music turned down, talking to God drives.

Money Can’t Buy Love
I have been wanting to write about this for a little while now, but time kept slipping away from me. I was on Facebook and scrolled past a post that took me back a bit. It said something along the lines of, “Why need love, when I have all of this money?” My heart kind of broke because of the level of ignorance... The terms are completely separate from each other. These are the definitions of love and money, with examples and synonyms that were given.
LOVE: an intense feeling of deep affection.
"babies fill parents with intense feelings of love"
synonyms:deep affection, fondness, tenderness, warmth, intimacy, attachment, endearment
MONEY: a current medium of exchange in the form of coins and banknotes; coins and banknotes collectively.
"I counted the money before putting it in my wallet"
synonyms:cash, hard cash, ready money
In all sincerity money can’t and never will buy whole happiness. Money has and always will be just an item. Love isn’t money, and money will never be love. Dependency on such a thought really leaves you dry. When money is gone, then what is the new substitute?
I was heartbroken to see that young people like myself felt the need to entertain this belief. Love between two people should be highly valued, appreciated, and honored. These are things that I have personally learned. We humans long so deeply for love and we should all have that consistency in our lives; something money can’t ever buy.
I guess my point is to share my heart and hopefully give others something to think about. Your SELF love should not be dependent on another, because when that person is gone, you long for more. Therefor that’s where the idea of money and love slide together. Others often get burnt out on there previous love relationship and then give up on true love and replace it with something materialistic. Money will never fill your love void. You will crave it more and more. Side note, if you feel this way about the relationship between love and money, you might want to educate yourself on what love really is, and how it is to be shared in the first place.
Side note, I would like to say also that sex isn’t love. Sex is a position of intimacy that I believe should be shared between two people who are in love. It should be honored, respected, and saved. Sex is an incredibly great gift God has given us between man and his wife. It wasn’t created to be abused and tossed around. Anyway.
So, if this is something you belief, please oh please know that it is nothing near to the truth. LOVE is of greater, much greater value and is not limited to sex and money. It is something that should be honored. Love between you and another person undoubtedly is work. But, yes, sometimes it ends. Above all, a state of self-love gives you the confidence to embrace a love relationship with yourself first anyway. When we seek to accept our singleness, we will never need that relationship to satisfy. We are meant to be independent and whole in ourselves. Being in a relationship, will never “complete you” therefor money won’t either. A relationship should be a companionship or someone you love and adore doing life with. It’s heartbreaking to see other whom need another man or women to complete their being.
To tie all of this together, I want to add Christ into the mix. He came and redeemed us from all pain and sin that will exist. THAT’S love. The highest love of them all. He sacrificed everything he was, to give everything to you and me. Nothing can buy that. He paid a high price. God designed us to want love. He gave us emotion, just as he has. He designed us with a hole in our heart, which resides to be FILLED with his love. Once we have his love we are enabled to learn we will always be loved. Yet, yes, we still long for a husband or wife. Which is okay, he created us that way. But even before that, we should be ensured in ourselves, that we are content and happy with who WE are. Because, you will absolutely never find complete contentment or wholeness in another being, money, or possession.
SO I encourage us young people, to view love in a different light. To see it as honorable and favorable. That we shall seek to have a husband or wife, boyfriend or girlfriend because we desire and want one, not because we NEED one to be happy or whole. Be whole in who Christ made you to be. This is something I am still learning myself peoples.
