Thought it was finally time to give AU!Rider some more love, so here's another color edit.
Tumblr media
@silverorchideon I really liked your concept with Rider having the goggles around his neck, so I couldn't help but incorporate it here lol
Also just to put them side-by-side:

Envisioning goggles finding tartar's barely living ai carcass instead of marina
He just smiles as it rambles like a madman - default expression all the way - and it asks why its plan, how its plan could have failed, how it lost to goggles of all idiots.
"Dunno. Maybe it's because i have friends. Maybe it's because i didn't kill thousands of people. Maybe it's because i didn't plan to kill thousands more - people with best friends, families, lives. Didn't your humans have all that?" Goggles says.
Tartar thinks - and maybe thinks for a moment he has made a grave error in calculations. Maybe. Regret or no, he needs a place out of weather. "Perhaps you can give me a closer look."
Goggles is still smiling. He leans over tartar a bit more.
"My friends mean the world to me. Headphones, bobble, specs, rider, hachi and the rest... and you wanted to kill all of them."
He puts a foot on the tartar box. It creaks slightly under pressure.
"You put hachi in the hospital. You put rider in the hospital. He can barely see right now, and the docs don't know if his sight will come back."
More pressure. The box is breaking more, crunching down like a soda can.
"Turf war means the world to him. You have no idea what you're talking about when you call it stupid. "
Gears and circuitry start to pop as tartar pleads for goggles to stop. That it'll do anything.
"Anything?" Goggles asked, and paused for a second.
Tartar stammers out, "riches. Turf prizes, anything, I'm sure it is acheivable with my resources-"
"How about a cure for sanitization? Bring back all the octarians you zombied." Goggles says.
"That's impossible- there must be something else you-"
Crack. Goggles brings his foot down hard on the box, breaking it open. Fizzling sanitizer ink leaks out, too weak to form any attacks, too weak to do anything but dry out in the sun.
"That's what I thought you'd say. Either way, i think you deserve to have your dreams crushed - just like theirs were. Okay?" Goggles grinned, dragging his foot in the dirt, smearing that sanitizer and sparking circuitry into the ground. His expression and tone remained sickeningly sweet - he refused to let this box get any joy from his pain.
And of course, just to be thorough, goggles grabs a nice big rock, and continues to kick around and gut tartar's machinery, taking his time crushing the villain to dust. He talked over the robotic screams.
"I don't care if you say it's impossible, either - I'm gonna look for a cure. It's not fair to them, to suffer for something you did. Maybe some sun will help! I mean, your sludge dries so quickly in the heat. Maybe I'll bring rai and hachi to the beach! Maybe marie's special charger ink could fix em. Anything’s possible."
And once the circuits are crushed, and slime is all dried, With no more sounds coming out of anything, Goggles picks up the empty phone box shell.
"As for you... you're the biggest idiot I've ever met, thinking I'd take a killing stranger home. I'm glad you're gone." Goggles said.
A ways away, he hears the call of the other agents, plus off the hook looking for him. He kicks some dirt and leaves over the remains, and trots over to give Marina the remains of the phone box.
"The heck were you doin' out here alone, anyway?" Pearl asked him.
"Just trying to feel better. This whole mission was really stressful..." goggles answered.
Marie glances between him and marina, who was studying bits of the box excitedly. "Did it help?" She asked.
Goggles shrugged. "A bit. But i think food will help better!"
Anyways just sayin' goggles should be allowed to have feelings and also vengeful bastard moments. He should be able to have a Shadow goggles moment or two, a bit of the true self exists in the false self etc. Etc.

SSR Epel Felmier - Club Wear Voice Lines
Tumblr media
When Summoned: If ya think you can stop my shot, then try stoppin' it!
Summon Line: Once we're out on the field, seniority don't mean a thing! I'm gonna fight for a starting spot on the team!
Groooovy!!: Haah, haah... Don't care how hard it gets, I ain't ever givin' up. We'll definitely win!
Home: Better not underestimate me.
Home Idle 1: Back when I first joined the club, no one took me seriously, but ever since I blocked a shot with my face during one of our matches, I think everyone sees me in a different light.
Home Idle 2: I think I'll make some Harveston honeyed apples for our next match. That'll definitely be tastier than lemons!
Home Idle 3: Even after a rough day of practicin', all us first years hafta put away all the equipment... Maaan, I wish I wasn't a freshman.
Home Idle - Login: I used to always hope to play Magical Shift someday, ya know. It's just so awesome to be able to clench victory together alongside the team!
Home Idle - Groovy: I want to practice shooting the disc, but it's such a pain having to go grab it after each throw... Oh man, if only there was someone who could lend me a hand~
Home Tap 1: Leona-san's advice is always so spot on! Just wish he'd show up to practice more to see how I'm working on everything.
Home Tap 2: Ruggie-san's passes usually come out of nowhere, which keeps us on our toes. I've run into the disc a buncha times during practice 'cause of that.
Home Tap 3: I always wear goggles when flying to keep the wind and dust clouds outta my eyes. Just wearin' it gets me pumped up. I look so cool with these on!
Home Tap 4: Back home, I'd help pick the apples by flyin' up on a broom. Maybe all that weaving through the tree branches is comin' in handy for Magical Shift.
Home Tap 5: Eh? I have a sunburn!? Oh no, and Vil-san was telling me I need to be careful while practicing outdoors...!
Home Tap - Groovy: I gotta learn to stay calm even if I get hit with the worst foul during a game. Can you smack talk me a little so I can practice?
Duo: [EPEL]: I got a plan in mind, Ruggie-san! [RUGGIE]: Countin' on ya, Epel-kun!

Epel Felmier - Clubwear (Voice Lines)
Following is my translation of Epel's voice lines for his clubwear card.
Spoilers after the cut.
Tumblr media
Summon
🍎: What, you really think you can block me? Go ahead and try!
🍎: Soon as we hit the court, doesn't matter anymore if you're a junior or a senior or whatever! And I don't wanna stay benched forever, so it's time to go hard or go home!
Tumblr media
Home Lines
🍎: You really shouldn't underestimate me.
🍎: I remember when I first joined the team, the other players really looked down on me. But ever since I pulled off a header during a match, it's kinda like they all see me in a whole new light now.
🍎: I'm gonna use some apples I got sent over from Harveston and pickle 'em with honey for our next match. They taste a whole lot better than honeyed lemons.
🍎: Us first years always gotta stay behind after practice and clean up. *sigh* I'm jealous of the seniors.
🍎: I've been dreaming of becoming a spelldrive player for years now. Scoring a win with your teammates is like the best feeling ever.
🍎: I wanna practice making shots, but it really sucks having to go and get the disk each time. Boy, I suuuure do wish I knew somebody who could help me out!
🍎: Leona-san's advice is always right on the mark. I just wish he'd join in on practice more and check our technique and stuff.
🍎: It's really hard trying to predict whenever Ruggie-san's gonna make a pass. I've been whacked by disks more times than I can count during practice.
🍎: We wear these goggles to protect our eyes from the wind and grit flying around when we're up in the air. Honestly, just putting them on gets me all fired up. They're really cool, dontcha think?
🍎: Back home, I'd hop on my broom and fly around picking apples. I got a lotta good practice ducking between branches and stuff, so maybe that's helped me with playing spelldrive.
🍎: Huh? I got a sunburn!? Noooo… And Vil-san told me to be careful when practicing outside…
🍎: I gotta make sure I stay calm whenever somebody breaks the rules. Could you maybe bad mouth me, as like a test?
Groovy
🍎: Haaah, haaah… I don't care how hard it gets, I'm never gonna give up. We're gonna win this thing, just you watch!
Tumblr media
Duo
🍎: I got an idea, Ruggie-san!
🍩: I'm countin' on ya, Epel-kun!

kaizen daycare! 5
previous masterlist next
“Does everybody have a copy?”
“Yes, (name)-sensei!” A chorus of cute voices answer your call. Loud chattering and shiny eyes all whilst excited stamping of little, socked feet upon the padded floors as they point at the colourful paper.
“I’m gonna ask Nanamin to let me wear my tiger trunks! Gao!” His tiny arms are stretched into the air, fingers splayed out into claws as he roars in attempts to terrorize his blank-faced friend, his blue eyes too mesmerized by the swimming brochure you had handed out to him with a pat to his head and a cooing of his name.
(“I hope you’ll come with your sisters, Megumi-kun. Tsumiki-chan is welcome to join, too!”)
PERMISSION SLIP
Kaizen Daycare will be hosting a swimming class this weekend! Located at the Mei Mei Swimming Centre, we will be teaching essent—
And Megumi decides that he really, really wants to go.
“Noba-chan! We should bring our pool floaties! Then we can play in the water together!”
“I’ll ask my Granny to pack extra strawberries!”
“Nana and I will ask Papa for extra snacks too…!”
(“Senseeiiiiii!” Yuuji clings onto your leg as his hands grip onto your apron. “Can I bring Choso too?!”
“Yuuji-kun, please have your permission slip signed first…!”)
And that’s how you ended up here, squatting down and helping Nobara fix her hair under her swim cap by the side of the children’s pool with her accompanying, feeble grandmother comfortably settled nearby on one of the benches, sipping on a complimentary bottle of tea provided for accompanying parents and simply enjoying the atmosphere of the swimming complex.
(They were the first to arrive.)
“Eh? So (name)-sensei has friends other than Shoko-sensei?” The curious tilt of her head, an innocent finger on her lip as she looks up at you, heart-shaped goggles pulled up to her forehead to reveal just as innocent, questioning brown.
And you feel something in you crack.
You swear you can quite literally feel your spirit leave you, swirling out of your mouth as your eyes blank out, hands frozen midair and the urge to fall onto your knees to lament about your lack of socialization with more people your age on the tip of your tongue as you let her words sink in.
You have friends! Plenty! There’s Shoko, there’s Utahime… Does Yaga count? He might be a touch too old, but you’re on friendly relations with your boss! Even though… You barely see him since he’s taking care of the older kids on another floor. And you have plenty of them online in Jujutsu Kaisen!
Yes, you assure yourself. Your eyes squeezing shut and your biting your lip in nervous contemplation. You have friends, you aren’t alone, you aren’t a NEET, and you’re only slightly addicted to video games! Slightly!
Though, that doesn’t discount the fact that your children already think you’re some sort of lonely shut-in…!
“(name)-sensei has a lot of friends, Nobara-chan!” Your hands clap together as you stand up, slowly leading her away from the edge of the pool as you gently place your palms onto her shoulders. “Am I not friends with your grandmother?”
“Mmm…” She crosses her arms, albeit with a little bit of struggle due to the pink arm-floaties. Her eyes closed as you fix a stray strand of hair on her forehead. Yep, you’ve convinced her. This is definitely enough to—
“Nope!” She pops the ‘p’ at the end.
“Granny says she sees you as her daugt-her!” Her hands are on her hips staring at you as she smiles, patting your arm with an excited hand. “So can you teach me to swimmy now? I wanna get ahead of Yuuji!”
Your eyes swirl with panic, totally defeated as you want to slump onto the ground and curl into a ball and cry. You don’t even notice the way Nobara was hugging against your torso, her face against the swimming cover-up as she wraps her tiny arms around you, your hand instinctively going around her and patting her head as you keep wallowing in your sadness.
“(name)-seennnnnseeiiiii! Nobara wants to swim!”
“Nanamin! Over’ ere!” Loud clattering of sandals against tiled floors, and a jump of a tiny, soft presence into your arms as an excitable, cub-like boy makes himself known, your arm opening and catching the canon-balling child just in time before he hurts himself.
“Let’s swimmmmmm!” He squirms in your hold as your mind still floats away at the thought of being an adult whose children think of you as lonely and incapable of having other adult friends…
“Yuuji.” Calm and authoritative baritone meet your ears. “What did I say about running?”
“Boo… That I shouldn’t do it in areas outside the track field…” You can practically feel his pout as he hides his face inside your coverup with Nobara.
“And what do you have to say for yourself?”
“Yuuji’s sworry…” His apology is muffled into your clothing as you just continue to pat both of their heads, their mumbled conversation with each other not quite floating to your ears. “So can Nobara and I go play by the sprinkly toys? Pleaseee?”
“Yea, yea! Pleaseee? We’ll be back when everyone comes!”
Your eyes snap back to reality by pure professionalism as you glance at the nearby sprinkler play area and a thought flurries back to the awaiting parents behind you.
“You can, but only if you ask your parents, okay?”
And the duo are quick to crawl out of your coverup, eyes pointedly staring up at Yuuji’s guardian first due to his proximity.
Sparkly eyes meet tired, passive almond.
“…yes, you can. But be back when your teacher calls for you.”
“Yay! Now let’s go ask y’er granny! And we won’t run!” And so, they power walked as fast as toddler feet could carry them.
It’s silent, only momentarily when you’re both left alone. Calls of the duo asking for permission from Kugisaki’s grandmother a distance away.
“Nanami-san, you’re really good at handling him.” And you mean it. He was an exemplary caretaker, respectable, responsible and trusted you with his child wholeheartedly. A really nice man.
“It’s no issue at all. I’m just glad he likes you so much.” A shift of his cheekbones, a soft, growing smile on his face with tender eyes. He doesn’t even hesitate to settle down next to you, crossing his legs and making himself comfortable on the ground.
“It’s more of a pleasure to see him be so happy with you.”
Two gazes stare on as you giggle and continue to chat with the taller man, your conversation getting lost on toddler ears as they let themselves get pelted by light showers of water droplets, the plastic, leaf-like gardens of the area providing adequate fun for them.
And the fact that your smiling face was more entertaining for they to watch.
“Wah… (name)-sensei and your daddy look like pretty friends!”
“Mhm! Sensei and Nanamin are super supppeerrr close!” He’s haughty, proud even, as his hands go onto his little hips, face slightly red from accidentally rubberbanding the goggles onto his nose.
“I bet (name)-sensei likes my Nanamin the most!”
“No way! Sensei definitely likes my grand—!”
“Is that so?” A glowering aura of darkness starts to encapsulate behind him, the sheer weight his tone carried capable of making any normal person freeze in place from sheer fear.
Yet, it’s totally ineffective on cute kids.
(“Ah! It’s Sa-chan!” The glowing boy’s face grows even brighter, arms thrusted up to start waving at him.
“Ohhh! The big man that you say teaches you martial arts, right? Cool!”)
“That’s right! And Sa-chan wants to know, Yuuji-kun~ Why don’t cha tell me allllll about how close Nanamin is to the cute sensei?” His tone was not growing with more bite, more venom in them. “I wanna know every little bit, down to the very last— Ow!”
“Stop harassing children, you menace.” A grab, a decisive pull; and Sa-chan’s ear had been captured by a tall, black-haired man’s fingers, the skin growing red under his touch, one arm preoccupied with carrying two children as two more head pop up from behind him.
“Owoww owww! Sugurrruuuu, you’re so mean!”
(“Ah! Gumi, Nanako and Mimiko! Finally, let’s play together!”)
——
[whisper] you: satouuu. (; ; )
[whisper] satouuu: yeaaaaa?
Your fingers hesitate in their typing, coming to an abrupt stop as they twitch just as you’re about to hit send. Shoko would laugh at you if you ever told her… So your only online friend is the closest, and safest bet, right?
[whisper] you: what do you think about me?
Specifically, you just want to see how you’re perceived. You act about the same offline and online anyway, right? You’re just… A little more forward on the net.
(Surely, you’re likable, right? You’re not that hopeless. At least… You don’t think so.)
You wait in anticipation, cold sweat starting to form on your hands as they clam up, a nervous rumbling of your character-themed cup as you try to down your nerves with another chug of chocolate milk.
This is making you far too nervous for what it actually is.
[whisper] satouuu: hoho? what’s this all of a sudden? (๑・̑◡・̑๑)
Now you wish you could retract every word you ever thought about sharing with this—
[whisper] satouuu: i’ll answer u if u pick up! ✌︎('ω')
(Incoming invite from User satouuu to join a voice-chat room!)
Ahhh…! Sly bastard! It’s too late to back out now, isn’t it? Maybe, just maybe… Some part of you has been anticipating something like this happening.
And so you accept.
Your throat feels dry, feels uneasy and uncertain. Yet, it leaves you before you can even comprehend. Was it nerves that pushed you to do this? A culmination of some odd, built up responsibility? Maybe you just weren’t made for this, maybe you should just quit this game and find a different one to get addicted to—
“…hello…?”
And you’re met with silence.
It makes you uneasy, makes the acid in your stomach feel like it was bubbling up and threatening to vomit out every last bit of your convenience store dinner as you nervously await.
(Do you sound bad or something…?)
“You sound cuter than I thought.” Followed up by a mock sigh of disappointment. “Not a nekama, huh? Pfft, borrrrinnnnggg!” He stops to let out a laugh, a smacking of his tabletop heard as you hear a clink of glass.
And you feel your heart palpitate just that little bit more.
“I’m sorry for being so boring then, you mean jerk.” You’re retorting back, a dumb smile unknowingly making its way onto your cheeks as you begin to… Talk. No longer needing to have the delays of typing in between the both of you.
It feels freeing, feels like a heavy weight has been lifted, feels… Right.
“And you haven’t answered my question yet.”
“Aww~, you’re just as impatient even on voice chat rooms too!” You hear him hum, a quiet drumming of his fingers against his desk.
“But if you sound like this,” He begins, a breath being drawn in. “Then you have nothing to worry about. It’s cute.”
“If you’re gonna joke around—“
“I’m being serious, honey! It really is cute!”
It makes your face burn in absolute shame, as much as you would hate to admit it. Just hearing someone with such an attractive voice has you wanting to choke back a sputter and break into your nervous rambling. It’s been bothering you ever since you heard him, how similar his voice was to a certain neighbour you had, yet how dissimilar it was at the same time.
(There’s no way. Coincidences like that only ever happened in fiction.)
Yet, you can’t help but imagine it all the same. Gojo Satoru calling you cute, his hand on your head or a tap of your nose with his finger as he teases you for being so shy. Or even Geto Suguru smoking next to you, gently grabbing your chin and sharing the smoke of his cigarette with you in the form of a—!
“Hey,” His voice takes a serious tone, drawling out his words in a smooth resonance that sends a shiver down your spine. “Say yes for me.”
(Oh… You would do anything for that voice—! No!)
Your eyebrows furrow only slightly, eyes snapping out of your daydream and eyes concentarted on the way his profile picture lit up when he spoke to notice the little pop-up at the corner of your screen.
“Yes…?”
[Voice activation confirmed.]
A shock of bursting, twirling pink hearts and flurry white laces that intertwine alongside snow white roses overtake your screen as your mouth hangs open in shock.
[Congratulations on your engagement! We wish you happiness with your partner!
Minimum damage will now increase by 20% when forming a party as a couple—]
“What?! You nearly choke on your spit, fingers hurrying to your keyboard to start spamming the backspace key, and every other letter in attempt to— “Cancel! Cancel—!”
[Request denied. Engagement is valid for 30 days, please try to work out your issues together.
Fun Fact: Only 48% of players who become couples choose to stay in their relationships after the valid period.]
“What?!”
“Ehehe.”

nekama — usually a grown man who roleplays with a super sexy/cute female character online.
for EN: Ieiri Shoko’s username is ‘shosei’, literally short for ‘Shoko-sensei’ because she registered the account at work. (For you.)
for JP: Originally meant to be written 所生 (しよせい)- birth place/creation/child
shosei character profile username: shosei level: 79 class: sorcerer notes: looks almost like a carbon copy of the shoko ieiri you know in real life. full courtesy of you, who designed it with her when you begged to play together. she paid actual money to buy you a player-designed accessory once. you never want to have it out of your inventory.
Fact: True love is never easy! Engagement rings are one of the hardest items to obtain in game. Prove that your love can best even the most treacherous bosses on Floor 520, or simply purchase one from the player Market!

I have a suggestion! What are your thoughts on the reader helping high school kento build a birdhouse?
"You know one of these days you'll have to actually help, right?"
"I am helping," you frown as you stare at your nails. You're not really looking. It's merely a shield, a way to avert your eyes from his piercing eyes.
"You're..." His voice trails off as he lifts the cumbersome goggles up from his eyes, to see you perched on the marble slab. A figure so idle and bored-looking and yet, you make no means to contribute. "You're sitting.”
He seemed clearly frustrated, but you're who you are, and so you giggled.
"I am. I am sitting while providing you moral support. I’m the pretty view that will keep you from going insane over that birdhouse. There is beauty in this world, Nanami-san. There is joy,” you beam as you wrap up your speech.
"We don't have time for this. We need to submit this birdhouse by Monday," he sighs, his frustration evident in the furrow of his brow. "That's only 3 more days."
“Oh, come on. We've got plenty of time," you say, waving off his concerns with a nonchalant flick of your hand.
But he's not easily swayed. "Plenty of time? We haven't even finished painting it, let alone adding the final touches. And we still need to figure out how to stabilise the roof so it doesn't collapse under the weight of the two birds."
You lean back on your hands, letting out a dramatic weary sigh. "Fine, Nanami-kun. If you're so worried, I'll try and help. But you have to promise me one thing."
He raises an eyebrow, clearly skeptical. "What?"
"That you'll stop stressing out so much. It's just a birdhouse, not a spaceship," you tease, hoping to lighten the mood. "Oh, and that you'll buy me Mochi when we're done with an A+."
"I owe you nothing," he says, his arms crossed in defiance.
"Then I fear," you fake a frown. "I fear my legs just can't seem to reach the ground. You shall have to carry on without me." A tilt of your head, a pout on your lips. God, you're so annoying.
"I'll get you your Mochi," he concedes with a resigned shake of his head. "But only if we manage to finish this on time. And with an exemplary grade might I add."
"A+ and nothing less," you salute him as you hop off the counter. His eyes catch a glimpse of your skirt riding up before his eyes look away and move to the unfinished birdhouse.
---
Your heavy eyes threatened to lull, but you fought against it, you've slept for far too long. And it doesn't help that Nanami's hands are moving in soothing patterns against your back. Up and down, and a circle. Up and down, and a circle.
Your gaze strains to lift up, avoiding any movement that might disturb his lying form. He's already awake, so there's no fear of rousing him awake with your movement. No, your concern lies elsewhere — You're worried about moving, and having to start the day, and having to leave his arms. This is far too comfortable a moment to leave.
Your eyes drift across the room and settle on the red cage in the corner of the room. The cage seems to look a lot more lonelier in the dull light of this cold morning.
“I think he’s sad,” you murmur.
Your gaze remains fixed on the bird inside the cage. The love bird, now singular, was formerly a pair as they usually come. It's a horrible fate, you can't help but think.
“Obviously," came his terse reply.
You don't say anything, letting the silence join you both, you moved your hands on his chest. You repeat the familiar pattern. Up and down, and a circle. Up and down, and a circle.
“Do you think that’ll happen to you if I leave,” you ask, moments later.
“You’re not leaving," he says, quickly.
"No," you countered softly yet insistently. "No, of course not. I only meant if—"
"No," he cut in, his voice firm and resolute. Though his demeanor remained calm— as it often did— you felt his hand tighten around your waist.
You decided not to press further then.
"I think we need to pay more attention to it than usual," you suggested, redirecting the conversation to the love bird. "Else it'll die."
"Maybe that's better," he mused.
"Don't be silly," you chide gently. "He'll be alright. It's only been a week."
A week later, the love bird passed away, succumbing to a broken heart, as the veterinarian confirmed.
Three years have passed since, and you find yourself thinking back to that morning. He's the one who's gone now, his body finding the same soil as the two love birds.
You suppose you're the one who has to answer now.

sorry i have the absolute worst brain worms imaginable right now. first ruikasa fic, let's go.
like my last and only other fic, this one is set in my supercyber AU- a project sekai cyberpunk x supernatural (genre) dystopian world. characters are aged up in this AU, which really doesn't have much to do with the fic itself other than the fact that rui has an apartment.
as for a summary... vampire!tsukasa does his vampire things (blood sucking) and rui nearly passes out. enjoy <3
(content warnings: blood, vampire shenanigans, making out, a little bit of hurt/comfort)
FANDOM: Project Sekai: Colorful Stage
CHARACTERS: Rui Kamishiro, Tsukasa Tenma
WORD COUNT: 2,941
The morning when Tsukasa got back, Rui knew something was off. He didn’t go off on some long tangent about how something crazy happened like he did on occasion when he wasn’t feeling at his best. He just entered the apartment, grumbled a greeting to the alchemist who had been working on a new project on the kitchen floor, and trudged off to the bathroom. The sight Rui got of him was covered in dark, maroon blood. This wasn’t particularly surprising, he had gotten quite used to the pungent odor of rogue blood. Even so, his lack of enthusiasm was worrying.
Rui decided that he was going to talk to him whenever he got out of the shower. He put a pause on his project, putting the pieces into a box that would be safe, out of harm’s way. He pushed the box to the side of the kitchen and stood up, pulling the goggles off of his head. Living with Tsukasa had turned him into a night owl of sorts. He would spend all night working on new inventions while the vampire was out, and when Tsukasa would return, he would spend the morning with him, before the two slept the afternoon away. He figured it was a dangerous cycle, as a human never really having time to see the sunlight, but he was happy to just be with Tsukasa. He was the only light Rui needed.
After a bit of waiting around, Tsukasa finally stepped out of the bathroom. His long hair was still damp, and he had changed into one of Rui’s old t-shirts. The alchemist noticed that his eyes seemed darker than usual.
“Tsukasa-kun!” He dashed over to greet him, hoping that the shower had refreshed him. “How was your night?” Rui gave him a smile, stopping just a few paces in front of the vampire.
Tsukasa grunted in response, looking past him. “It was fine, nothing really to talk about.”
This was wholly unusual. Rui knew that he loved to talk. Something was definitely wrong.
“Hey, are you feeling alright?” he asked, turning his head and giving Tsukasa a once-over. He didn’t seem to have any obvious, life-threatening wounds.
“I said I’m fine. I just want to go to bed.” He was given such a curt response. Though his words were believable, the tone of his voice said otherwise. Not wanting to just stand there longer than he had to, Tsukasa pushed past Rui, headed toward the apartment bedroom.
A hand gripped onto his wrist stopped him.
He whipped back around, a wild look in his eyes, and his fangs bared. The image shocked Rui- never had Tsukasa snapped at him like that before. “Let. Go of me.” He felt the tendon in his wrist shift as he flexed his claws. Rui’s stomach churned, a nervous feeling welling up inside of him. Even so, he refused to release the hold on him.
“Tsukasa, let me help you. Talk to me.”
His scarlet eyes bore deep into Rui. The vampire swallowed thickly, a small bead of saliva escaping his lips. The crazy look he had turned to one of desperation, and his eyebrows furrowed.
Tsukasa let out a shaky breath. “Do you trust me?”
What kind of question was that? Rui’s face remained stern. “Of course I do,” he spoke in response. The grip on his wrist loosened.
“I need your blood. Please.” It sounded like he was begging. The pang of fear inside him turned into empathy. It was true, now that Rui thought about it, that he had never once seen the vampire drink blood. He never questioned him about it, knowing that vampires had their own way to source blood without harming people. But to hear Tsukasa sound so frantic really made him feel for him. There wasn’t much Rui could think of that he wouldn’t do for him.
He had always wondered what having his blood drank from the fangs of a vampire felt like.
Rui just nodded, noticing the slight look of relief in Tsukasa’s eyes. What would he have done if I said no..?
Tsukasa pulled his arm from the loose hold and took the alchemist’s hand instead, guiding him into the living room. Almost forcefully, he pushed him toward the couch, climbing on after him. Everything seemed to happen so fast that it overwhelmed Rui- one moment he was standing in front of the bathroom, and now he was shoved onto the couch, the vampire hovering over him, saliva dripping from his lips.
“Hey, hold on-” he grabbed onto Tsukasa’s shoulders, preventing him from diving straight into his neck. His face was flushed, golden eyes wide. “Not the neck. Not yet.” Rui looked away, embarrassed.
The pitiful whine he heard from the other was not something he expected. Tsukasa sat back, next to Rui on the couch, who glanced back at him. A defeated expression was plastered across his face, thick drool cascading down his chin, his breathing heavy.
Oh my god, it was worse than he thought.
As much as the unprecedented sight of Tsukasa sitting before him like that stirred his curiosity, he couldn’t just let him suffer and starve. Rui pulled the glove off his human hand and presented his arm to him.
“Here, my arm is fine.” He paused, feeling the need to explain. “My neck is just too.. Intimate right now. Not for the first time.” He scratched the back of his neck with his opposite hand, a light blush crossing his nose. Tsukasa didn’t argue. He wasted no time pulling Rui’s arm closer and hunching over.
A gasp escaped the alchemist’s mouth, the pain of Tsukasa’s fangs deep into his skin taking him by surprise. The sting was quickly eased as a numbing sensation traveled up his arm, focused around the bite. He grunted softly, the vampire now sucking at the wound.
Rui allowed himself to relax, slowing his breathing. There was an absence of pain now, which piqued the alchemist’s interest. It would continue to hurt if a human had bitten and sucked on the wound, however because Tsukasa was a vampire, it seemed he had a mechanism that quelled the pain. Perhaps it was a paralyzing agent all vampires contained, in order to immobilize their prey? Thinking of himself as Tsukasa’s prey made him shudder. He averted his eyes, his face flushing at the thought.
The pressure on his arm was released, and he took a deep breath. When the vampire slowly lifted his head from the spot he had latched to, Rui peered at his arm. Two punctures were left behind, tiny spots of blood bubbling up from under his skin. The area was wet from saliva.
Tsukasa’s eyes met his, their usual sunset orange a deep red. A small trail of blood trickled from his parted lips. Rui’s mind had gone foggy- why was he so trained on his lips? The hand that was formerly wrapped around Rui’s arm moved to sit on his knee, and Tsukasa leaned forward.
“Rui, can I kiss you?” he asked, eye contact unwavering. With the way Tsukasa was looking at him, eyebrows furrowed, mouth opened enough to reveal two pointed teeth, Rui felt like his question was more of a demand. He could barely give him a nod before the vampire closed the gap between them.
He felt a cold hand reach up to hold his flushed face. As Tsukasa’s lips pressed into his, he closed his eyes, submitting to his affection. The blond moved closer, swinging a leg over Rui’s legs, and shifting his body to straddle his lap. Rui gasped at the sudden adjustment, but Tsukasa just pushed deeper into the kiss. His hands found themselves a spot on his back, holding onto his thin shirt.
Rui was finding it exceptionally difficult to think. Between the movement against his lips and the newfound weight in his lap, he was afflicted with a warm feeling inside him, even warmer than the blush across his cheeks.
A wetness touched his lips, and Rui quickly gave in. He parted his lips, allowing Tsukasa’s tongue inside. He was immediately met with the metallic taste of blood. Only moments before, his vampire was eagerly drinking from his arm. There was something so personal about tasting his own blood from the mouth of someone else. Wait, his vampire? God, Rui was in deep now. A soft moan escaped his throat as Tsukasa pushed deeper into his mouth, his tongue pressing against his own. He felt hands tangled in his plum hair, tugging gently. The blond returned a hungry moan into Rui, clearly enjoying the work he was doing.
Rui’s breathing grew heavier as the kiss increased in passion. It felt so, so good, kissing Tsukasa like this. He held on tight to the other’s back, desperately not wanting to let go. The fog in his brain was only thickening, clouding his thoughts further. The touch of Tsukasa’s sharp fangs in his mouth drove him nearly mad. He wouldn’t mind being bitten by those teeth every day. Just the thought caused his already-flushed cheeks to darken. It was becoming hard to breathe.
Tsukasa pulled his mouth away, licking the saliva from his lips. The alchemist’s eyes fluttered open, noting the defined rising and falling of the vampire’s chest. Tsukasa was so pretty. It was unusual for him to be so direct. Not that Rui didn’t enjoy him so unwaveringly taking charge. He closed his eyes, unable to keep them open, and leaned into the back of the couch. He felt as if his consciousness was going to easily slip away, and his breathing was ragged.
“Rui..?” he heard a familiar voice. He hummed in response, turning his head to the side, exposing the side of his neck. “Rui!” he jolted awake, Tsukasa’s hands now on his shoulders, shaking him. His wide eyes met the vampire’s, formerly red returned to their usual orange.
The unmistakable feeling of dizziness overtook Rui. He closed his eyes once again, letting out a groan. “Shit,” Tsukasa cursed under his breath, just loud enough for Rui to register. The weight that had once sat upon him had left. The sound of footsteps departed, and returned as quickly as they had gone. He felt the couch shift.
“Here, drink.” Despite his tiredness, Rui opened his eyes. Tsukasa, now sat next to him on the couch, was holding an opened bottle of water to his lips. He weakly nodded his head, and the bottle was lifted upward, allowing the water to glide into his mouth. He hadn’t realized how thirsty he had become. The cool water felt so nice going down his throat. After a few moments, Tsukasa pulled the bottle away from him and screwed the cap back on. Rui watched as he put it down on the ground in front of the couch, and when he leaned back up, he noticed that the vampire had something else in his hands. He fiddled with it, the familiar sound of tearing plastic met Rui’s ears.
Now, Tsukasa held a breakfast bar in front of his mouth. “Eat this.”
Sense was beginning to return to Rui. His mind was certainly still muddled, but the warm feeling he had was going away. “What? Are you my mother or something?” he finally spoke. Tsukasa, however, was not taking this as an answer, so he shoved one end of the bar into Rui’s mouth before he had a chance to close it. He let out a muffled grunt, lifting his hand to take the other end of the breakfast bar, and took a bite.
As he chewed, Tsukasa explained. “I.. I haven’t taken blood directly from the source in a while,” he stated, a nervous edge to his voice. “I forgot that it wasn’t a good idea for you to uhm.. Not eat anything before. And I was really hungry.” He had his gaze trained on something past Rui, refusing to make direct eye contact. “I’m really sorry, I got carried away.” The pointed tips of his ears were becoming flushed. He stood up once again, swiftly making a trip to the bathroom.
Although the dizziness began to subside, Rui still felt tired. The cloudiness in his mind was dissipating. It was somehow reassuring that the way he felt was due to blood loss, rather than being down so astronomically bad for the vampire like he initially thought. He silently finished his bar and wadded up the wrapper, throwing it onto the floor. That was a problem for future Rui to deal with.
Once Tsukasa returned, he held a small, plastic container. He opened it, revealing the contents inside to be first-aid supplies. He knelt on the ground, in front of the couch, and gently took Rui’s arm. The blood had stopped flowing for some time now, and it had begun to dry. He pulled out a packaged disinfecting wipe and unwrapped it, pressing the wipe to his wound. The contact of the disinfectant on the puncture stung, causing Rui to clench his teeth. He let out a strained sigh as the vampire softly rubbed at the area, making sure to clean any excess blood. Once that was done, Rui watched Tsukasa take a larger band aid from the first-aid kit, unwrap it, and stick it onto the bite mark. He paused for a few moments, staring at his work, before returning to the container to shut it. He stood up, preparing to make an exit from the living room, but Rui leaned forward and took hold of his wrist.
“Come here, it’s okay. I’m fine,” Rui reassured, tugging on his arm to pull him back to the couch. The look Tsukasa gave him stabbed right through his heart; his eyes were wide, tears threatening to fall, and his typical smile was replaced with a frown. Oh, god. “No, no, no, don’t cry!”
Tsukasa brought his hand up to his face, shaking his head. “I’m not!” His arm was pulled again, and this time he fell onto the couch next to the alchemist. Rui let go of his wrist, moving his arm to wrap it around the other, and pulled him closer. “I just- I don’t want to hurt you. And I messed up,” he sniffled, leaning into his touch.
“You didn’t hurt me, like I said before, I’m fine,” Rui soothed, rubbing circles into the blond’s side. Tsukasa looked up at him. His eyes were glistening, but his cheeks were not wet. That was a relief. Rui didn’t want to be the reason for Tsukasa to cry. He had found himself becoming more and more attached to this goofy vampire that dropped so abruptly into his life. He wouldn’t want to do anything to drive him away. The status of their particular relationship refused to be given a name- they weren’t lovers, but they were clearly more than friends. It was a complicated matter to the alchemist, so Rui didn’t particularly feel the need to ask Tsukasa’s feelings on the situation. The two lived in comfortable affection.
Rui averted his eyes. “Anyway, I kind of… enjoyed it.” Blush was creeping up his neck and across his face. Was that weird to admit…? The initial sting of Tsukasa’s fangs breaking his skin, paired with the paralyzing numbness that came after, was unlike anything he had ever experienced. It felt so personal, so intimate, Rui now wondered how it would feel to have the blood sucked from his neck, rather than the arm. He didn’t have any blood to spare right now, but… his eyes landed back on Tsukasa’s, who was just staring at him, face as equally red.
“Hmm..?” Rui’s voice came out higher than expected. This was so embarrassing.
“Enjoyed it?” the vampire repeated back to him. He nodded. There was a brief awkward silence where the two just stared at each other, until Tsukasa broke it with a smirk, followed by a chuckle.
Tsukasa’s hand reached up, fingertips brushing the side of Rui’s neck. He did not consider himself a bashful guy by any means, but by god, Tsukasa was going to turn him to jelly. “Of course you did,” he spoke, as if Rui were just stating the obvious. “I didn’t take you for the kind of person who wouldn’t bend to the temptation of a vampire.”
HUH? “What’s that supposed to mean?!” the alchemist choked out, golden eyes flitting about the room before landing back on the smug-faced Tsukasa. The chipper air had returned to him. However, he seemed to be using the change in mood for evil. His finger hooked under his choker, tugging against his throat slightly. This caused a noise to escape Rui that he wasn’t even aware he could make, his cheeks now bright red. Tsukasa pressed a kiss to his neck.
“-kasa please,” he breathed out, “you’re going to make me pass out for real this time.”
The vampire seemed to contemplate his options, before tilting back away from him. His hand trailed from his neck, down to his collarbone, and stayed there. “I am glad though, Rui.” His eyes rested on the other’s chest. “That you trust me. That’s not something I’m used to- coming from a human. Thank you for that.”
Rui smiled. Tsukasa was so genuine with him, the care he shared would be difficult to put in words, but he truly appreciated the time he put into what they had. Even if their circumstances were odd, Rui loved the time spent with him. He pulled his hand up, running it through blond hair. Leaning forward, he placed a kiss on Tsukasa’s forehead.
“I’d do anything for you, starshine.”
