@ffviihalloween - Day 1: Ghosts
I don't think we talk enough about how fucked up the entire existence of Gold Saucer is. Making this fun haunted-house-themed hotel and it's literally built on graves.
[Image Description: Greyscale digital artwork of the Ghost Hotel at Gold Saucer. While the rest of the party can be seen indistinctly walking up the steps to the hotel, Barret stands in the middle of the headstones with his fist clenched. The image is animated so that when lightning flashes, the text on the headstones changes from Gold Saucer's locations to the names Corel, Myrna, Eleanor, and Dyne. /end ID]

With the FF16 Collaboration site going live on the Lodestone, we have the list of rewards; we know the Glamour, Mount, and Minion are from the quests themselves (starting in Ul'dah, requires level 50 and completion of 2.0/"The Ultimate Weapon"). The rest of the rewards--various orchestrion rolls and Clive's Triple Triad card--come from the Gold Saucer and is going to cost a chunk of MGP.
Will they be available after the event? Uncertain; Noctis's card is available outside the FF15 event, so I expect that at least Clive's will be. But I don't know about the music.
To build back MGP (especially if you just bought the Regalia from the recent replay of FF15's event!), do the daily Cactpot, and any GATES you happen across/find doable. Play enough games at the Saucer (or in your housing if available) to at least get the 2 weekly Challenges. Challenge Log for the Saucer in general is very helpful. And don't forget Wondrous Tales sticker books from Khloe in Idyllshire; her possible rewards include MGP.

The Boys™ go to Rebirth's new and improved Gold Saucer. What happens?
Sephiroth and Genesis initially go into the ferris wheel/gondola for what seems like a romantic encounter. Which predictably and inevitably results in them both getting into argument and throwing each other fifty feet off the ride mere minutes later.
Angeal weeps into his hands at continuously failing at the space shooter nonsense. He decides to retire early to their rooms. And then spends another thirty minutes questioning his will to live while being bombarded by spooky haunted house bullshit.
Zack admires the pretty colors. He's so hyper enthralled that his regular hyperactivity is cancelled out. He doesn't even enter any of the major squares, just stands there enjoying the sparklies. He can be heard repeating "duuuude" over and over again.

I FINISHED CHAPTER 12! (Basically... PS says I have like 7% remaining and that is probably gonna be leaving the Gold Saucer again so... yeah)
I HAVE THOUGHTS BRO.
Zack??? ZACK FAIR??? How dare you be the most beautiful gorgeous cute man ever. His sections always manage to have me tear up. The ending of this game is SO gonna hurt me my god.
My date was with Aerith... which i didn't mind but Cloti for the win you know. Aerith, girl, Zack is somewhere out there!
Didn't bother with any of the new minigames at the Saucer yet, since I wasn't a fan of a lot of them the first time around. Will probably only do it after finishing main story, since some of the exchangeable rewards are very nice.
Loveless was wonderful. Teared up seeing Jessie again. The song was so moving. The party acting as the main cast had me rolling tho. THE WAY YOU COULD CHOOSE BARRET AS YOUR TRUE LOVE? They're so unserious. The little game mechanics were a little confusing tho. I swear I don't have a left-right-weakness but this part had me questioning. Managed to get score A but still... wish there would havd been earlier triggers that told you what button to press... but maybe that's just me.
BUT THE COLOSSEUM HAD ME QUESTIONING EVERYTHING. WHAT DO YOU MEAN BASICALLY 6 ROUNDS OF FIGHTING BACK TO BACK AND THERES ONLY ONE OPPORTUNITY TO CHANGE YOUR EQUIPMENT. The first two rounds were easy, when they brought put the Tonberry I was having war flashbacks to the boss fight in Corel. Didn't expect a round 4, but Aerirh and Phoenix came through for me <3
THE TURKS AGAIN THO??? Listen, I'm a proclaimed Turks lover okay. I love them. My pookies. BUT YOU'RE GONNA MAKE ME FIGHT THEM A THIRD TIME NOW?? Elena is always easier to handle, Rude kinda annoying still but we got through it. Wanted to take this opportunity to say how much I love Elena being such a hater. And her having the most bone chilling horror movie scream when you land a hit or pressure her. Queen.
BUT THEN RUFUS??? ALONE AS CLOUD??? I was gnawing at the bars of my enclosure bro. I hate blonde men. Had to restart several times to get his patterns down. Was very upset with my inability tp dodge, usually I play my fights pretty head-on offensive... I was shaking crying throwing up until I had Rufus down to like half his health. Kujata on Cloud really helped me idk. Darkstar was annoying, but got him down eventually after using Clouds Limit TWICE. Almost died when Rufus was only like 3% HP remaining. The way I was shaking when it was finally over... damn. Never wanna do that again but I had already heard that the Rufus fight was pretty annoying...
Cait's betrayal was nothing new to me, I did know about it. Still made me sad ofc. THE WAY YOU CAN'T PLAY WITH HIM AFTERWARDS? I'm heartbroken.
Now it's off to the Temple/The Promised Land. Very curious what the last 2 Chapters are gonna bring. Heard 13 was quite long, but I wanna try and play it all now without any more interruptions... gonna play side quests and minigames later. Maybe I'll even be able to finish this weekend, which would be nice. I'm on vacation next week and won't be home...
So that's that. Enjoy some screenshots I took during this chapter!

The latest member to the Gold Saucer staff, the Miku Moogle!! (Mikoogle)
if you draw her please tag me. im debating doing all of wxs with gold saucer uniforms but the "Wonder Halloween!!" set kinda already looks the part HSNGKDH
mentally ill ramblings about the design under the cut
WXS miku's hair pom poms are actually what gave me this idea?? the one on her antenna always reminded me of a moogle so this was just the obvious next step, giving her moogle design elements. Next thought was, well what about her matching Cait Sith? Hence the checkered pant pattern and general vibe (to match his little jester uniform from the remake :3)
i had soooo much fun making this i will be drawing more once the adult-life-stress-induced art block is gone ฅ^•ﻌ•^ฅ

so like, what would a Golden Saucer “date” be like with Glenn and Seph (using Cloud and Yuffie’s as a ref)
was thinking kind of like wholesome, where he shows every location and mini games to Seph, where it starts to where it ends…
maybe he opens up to the kid a bit, or the opposite lol
or angst. angst my beloved.
For once, Sephiroth won't shut up. He's never, EVER been someplace like this before, dazzled by the lights, dragging Glenn everywhere his feet can possibly take him. He wants to see everything, devour everything there is to know about such a unique, wondrous place. Fun. Freedom. Delicious concepts he's never digested before. By the time they get to the Ferris wheel, Sephiroth is abuzz with excitement, all but dangling out of the side of the gondola window. Glenn laughingly has to hold him back, telling him to calm down and enjoy the ride before he breaks his neck.
They sit back and enjoy the ride, Sephiroth's eyes growing wider and wider at every firework. They talk about how far they've come as a team, Glenn bluntly joking that he didn't like Seph in the beginning.
"And now?" Sephiroth asks, trying not to inwardly wince at the idea of Glenn's disapproval.
Glenn watches him, leaning back, sheepishly rubbing the back of his head. "You're a good kid, Seph. You got a good heart."
It's awkward for a few minutes. Sephiroth stares down at his lap, all pretense of playing the composed, noble leader completely lost on him. He looks shy, if anything. Boyish. Kicking his feet and fidgeting like a child waiting to hear the outcome of his report card. Glenn shakes his head and reaches over to pet him, rolling his eyes good naturedly.
"You take things too seriously. This is fun, isn't it? You were excited before."
"I've never SEEN anyplace like this before. It was just the lab and the base and the training grounds." Another fidget. "And the pit."
"The pit? What's that?"
Sephiroth is only silent, watching the lights. Glenn can make out the faint faded scars that lightly curl around his neck, the tiny indent near his collarbone.
"...Seph?"
"Mm?"
"I do mean it. You're a good kid."
"..."
"You should do something with your life that makes you happy."
Sephiroth pauses and glances at the older man, his expression more solemn than a child's face has any right to be. "I'm happy now."
"Yeah?"
"I'm here."
"You are."
"And...this is nice."
"It is..."
They watch the fireworks, red and golden showers that touch the dark synthetic sky.
"Glenn?"
"Yeah?"
"Can I stay with you?"
"Huh?"
Sephiroth shakes his head, Mako eyes glowing in the dim light, chewing on his lip. "Can I stay with this team? I don't have to lead it. I can protect you."
"Still on about that 'protecting' crap. You don't have to worry about that. Tough guys like me can protect ourselves."
"I still want to." Sephiroth squirms, cheeks pink. "To stay."
Glenn blinks, stares. He moves over to sit next to the boy, giving him a playful shove. "Did you think I was kicking you out?"
"No. But..."
"Stay as long as you like. Stay forever. You're less of a hardass than you were before. And you're amazing at what you do." Glenn's tone softens, feeling somewhat stupid as he looks away. "And...we're friends, right? That counts for something, too."
"Friends..." Sephiroth tastes the word, his voice little more than a murmur.
"Yeah. You're my friend. And Matt's. And Lucia's." Glenn smiles. "I like having you here. It's good for friends to be together like this. And I don't want that to change."
Sephiroth looks up at him, his expression slightly skewed behind his long silver bangs. He hesitates, unnatural pupils moving, changing shape as if caught between some great internal debate. When he scoots himself close to Glenn's side, there's something different about the light, something different about the dark span of the simulated comet's trail that illuminates the gloomy spaces.
Sephiroth's eyes are moist. He wipes them on his sleeve, the noises soft, barely audible. Glenn startles, but looks away to the give the boy time to settle. He just lets Sephiroth lean against him, a comforting warmth that is both shared and private at the same time.
They stay like that until the ride ends.
